Wow! Nasty weather! Saw those snow flurries afew minutes ago here, too. Wind is really gusting, and they say the winds will get stronger this afternoon. Won't be any outside garden work today. Really getting sick of this cold weather and I need SUNSHINE!!

Good morning, Eagle World,

Glo, where did you get the info on the second Maine chick? I just looked in on their site, the blog is not updated, and the storm is so heavy that the eagles are not visible in the camera frame...

Jim

glo said...

Well Jim there is a picture of the second one on my For the Love of Eagles BLOG. Dad is feeding one and you can see th e others head sticking up. I had meant actually to link it to one of the videos I watched after work last night of the feedings and the two different places also receiving the food. I will try to find that link again today and post it both here and on my Blog. Horrendous weather, injured male and 2 very young ones. Its a long rough day at the Maine nest for sure.

glo said...

here is a link to watch one of the many fedings yesterday that has the Maine folks convinced there are 2 little ones now in the nest in Miane

movin said...

Thanks, Glo,
I thought I saw her turning a second egg on Saturday. So I'm not surprised, but I hadn't seen anything to substantiate it.

Is the injury to the male you mentioned still the sore foot?

Jim

movin said...

I just looked at the clip, Glo, and it is certain that there are two chicks... Thanks very much.

Jim

movin said...

Both Ospreys WERE defending the nest, but now there's a fish crow in there alone!

glo said...

Yes Jim he is definitely struggling with his left talon/knee/hip...depends who you read on their forum. He has cught or at least brought some food to the nest. He is stiff and awkward at times as he gets up...limps occasionally when lands etc. The biggest fear right now is he doesn't perhaps have the talon strength he needs to humker down in the winds form this storm with that bad laft side. So anyway...they need a little prayer support up there today for sure. Rough times for that family right now.

Suzanne said...

Thanks for the new thread, Steven. Thanks for the heads up, Megan. Good grief, moved over here and somehow Google kicked me out. Gonna have to create another account to post! This is really becoming a pain!
BW parent just came back, think it's Lord BW but not sure. Anyway, covering the chicks with grass again! Now he took off, that was quick. Mouthful of grass on chicks, then poof, gone. Chicks didn't even wake up!

Suzanne said...

Oh geesh, morning, all!

Mauley said...

Morning All, It sure is nasty weather here in se KY, as well, Prayers going out to all the wildlife who suffer when the weather is so nasty. Blessings for all of you today. donna

Suzanne said...

Oh, osprey in WA is laying in the nest. Wonder if they have an egg now?
BW eagle cam just went on vacation...

Suzanne said...

Back now.

paula eagleholic said...

Yay, Snow, NOT!!

movin said...

Yes, I think I've seen him limping, Glo. I can't tell if it's temp or permanent though.

Good news about talon strength: I believe the foot is constructed so that it locks closed, and the bird does not need to keep constant muscle pressure on a perch (for example).

Just heard on the news that a dam is threatening to break in WV. Near Charlton(?). Homes have been evacuated.

Two Harbors feeding.

MITS said...

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE:):)

Jill said...

Charleston probably, Eastern WV has been spared a lot of the bad weather this weekend. Southern was getting pounded pretty hard when my son left Bluefield on Saturday. Had enough sense to cut his visit short and get his butt north before it got bad. They do surprise you sometimes don't they?

paula eagleholic said...

Welcome back, Mits. Hope you had a great week.

MITS said...

Thanks, Paula, it was great:).Hubby and I love Arizona, and, the weather was perfect:)BTW, we did have one dust storm though. Thanks to my sister, she kept me up-to-date on all the eagle happenings last week.

MITS said...

parents and chicks at BW.

goofy Tai-Shan is up a tree.:)

Suzanne said...

Hi Mits, welcome back. This time I refreshed before posting about both parents serving lunch in BW. Glad you put it here! Those guys were helping themselves to breakfast this morning. First one, then the other. They can really stretch those necks, if they want to!

Suzanne said...

Oh, just saw the egg in WA osprey nest!!!

MITS said...

I love the WA osprey nest...the Conn. osprey nest is completely surrounded by water due to the Nor'Easter.

paula eagleholic said...

Think that rockin' and rollin' tree in VA has put the Norfolk trio to bed.....

Suzanne said...

Pic of the egg enroute, Mits.

MITS said...

Thanks, Suzanne it was a great shot:).

Jill said...

Mits

With spring arriving sometime soon, and school field trips coming up, is there a day that is better to visit the zoo? We want to come see the little guy with our little guy.

MITS said...

Jill most school trips are in the a.m., so after 1 it gets a little quieter. I'm on the Asia Trail the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Wednesdays of the month, between 1 and 4. Get your little one there before the fall, Tai is scheduled to go back to China then:(:(:(.

paula eagleholic said...

Is that another standoff in the Osprey nest again?

Jill said...

Thanks Mits. Not sure what the train schedule is from here. I think last time I got there about 11 am. So they should be loading up to leave fairly soon after we arrive. I will see what we can do about coming on a Wednesday when you are there. Thanks

Suzanne said...

Yes, Paula, those 2 were there this morning for several hours, but not interacting at all.

Time for me to hit the road. Stay safe, everyone, and all have a good eagle day.

Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!

MITS said...

Where are you coming from, Jill?

Sandy said...

now he's sitting and she's pacing the nest...curiouser and curiouser (Alice in Wonderland)

Sandy said...

Lib left again...Belle still sitting

paula eagleholic said...

Lib left, Belle still in nest bowl

paula eagleholic said...

Both gone from Osprey nest again....

paula eagleholic said...

Take a look at the Maine nest if you can....they pulled the cam back...

paula eagleholic said...

Belle is in perfect position...c'mon baby....or should I say eggy.

Sandy said...

hey Paula!

paula eagleholic said...

Howdy, Sandy!

paula eagleholic said...

No change. Belle still sorta of hunkered down in the nest....winds?

Sandy said...

She doesn't look like she's going anywhere.

Jill said...

Mits

We are coming from Martinsburg WV.

Wind is terrible here. Things blowing all over the place. And trash everywhere.

MITS said...

I saw that at the Maine nest, Paula.

Jill said...

Poor thing probably is stuck in the nest, wind is awful here.

Anne-Marie said...

Did she sit down?

paula eagleholic said...

No, but low in the nest.

MITS said...

She is sitting down, Heidi....

paula eagleholic said...

Of course, we've seen this before....

paula eagleholic said...

LOL, yes, no, maybe so.

paula eagleholic said...

LOL, yes, no, maybe so.

Anne-Marie said...

I'm getting excited over nothing. I was just hoping. I got to see the Santa Cruz chicks feed yesterday and it was sweet. I had never seen them before. The wind is still ripping and brisk here but Santa Cruz looks a bit calmer. Maybe it will calm down in the valley soon. Good Morning all I'm sorry I just got excited.

MITS said...

C'mon Belle, you can do it!!

paula eagleholic said...

OMG-she is now laying in bowl....

carolinabeachmom said...

What an idiot I have been. I checked for new thread, but it didn't come up. So I have ben doing a lonely running commontery on all the happenings going on in the nest. I finally rechecked again and found you all over here having a good time watching and talking. This kind of looks like it this time. :) She is getting comfortable!

paula eagleholic said...

Dare we hope?

Sandy said...

If she wasn't down before she sure is now...

come on Belle, you can do it!

paula eagleholic said...

Candy - It can get quiet around here at times...I understand how you feel talking to yourself at times!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

I have been waiting and waiting to see her do that! There she is. Now I have a little more hope!

MITS said...

PAULA, you have mail:).

carolinabeachmom said...

It sure looks like THE day. Boy am I glad they canceled school down here on the banks today. We are still having very high winds and some flooding. I can't believe that it is still around this long.

glo said...

Chills and tears...can eagles keep you on the edge of your seat or what!!!!

carolinabeachmom said...

Hey Jim, I hope you are watching. You have been doing all the calculations if this were to happen.

MITS said...

CAROLINABEACHMOM We have a place at Ocean City Maryland, and I was there one time in March a few years back and the nor'easter lasted for 7 days.

paula eagleholic said...

Right back at ya, Mits.

paula eagleholic said...

One osprey back at BW

paula eagleholic said...

Well, I have to run out and do some errands for work. If there's an egg, somebody better send me a pic! :)

carolinabeachmom said...

Oh I don't believe she is gone.

paula eagleholic said...

Rats.

carolinabeachmom said...

Sorry Jim, we won't need your calculations after all. :(

Anne-Marie said...

False labor again! I think I worked too many years in labor and delivery... I'm getting too old for all this anticipation. Back to work.

MITS said...

Yep, she flew the coop, so to speak....terrible news coming out of Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, Virginia. At least 22 people shot to death and more injured. Prayers for everyone there:(.

MITS said...

Chicks in view at Colorado.

carolinabeachmom said...

Mits, again welcome back from Arizona. A couple of friends of mine moved there 2 years ago. Seem to love it.

Yes isn't that awful about the incident at Va. Tech. Unbelievable! You just never know, do you? Yes our prayers go out to them and their families and all involved.

MITS said...

We are looking for a place in Arizona:).

glo said...

Aaarrrggghhhh

OK back to mowing

carolinabeachmom said...

The say the weather and air is just wonderful out there, Mits.

MITS said...

ARIZONA to myself and my hubby is heaven on earth:). We always look forward to going there and hate when it is time to leave. We were sitting down to breakfast one day last week and an eagle was flying over us:).

Jill said...

Mits

My family is from lower DE. I have seen some nasty Noreasters come through there. Old timers will tell you they would rather see a hurricane than a nor'easter. And if you have been through one you know why. My cousin has a place on the Beach at Fenwick. Been through a few storms in that house. Just made reservations for beach vacation in July.

MITS said...

I know exactly where that is Jill. I live on 59th street in Ocean City. I'm usually there from May til October...will be coming back and forth this year to do my shifts at the zoo.

Jill said...

Spent most of my summers running up and down the beaches. Last year was the first time in my adult life I didn't stay with family in Selbyville. Truth is we had a better time. No pressure to do anything at a certain time. Maybe we can get together when I am there in July. And we are working a trip to the zoo, on a Wednesday if we can pull it off. I will let you know.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Belle is back!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

And gone. What the heck is that in the nest?

Sandy said...

WHAT is in the nest??

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

It looks like it may have been alive at one time - I don't know!

MITS said...

Did she bring it in??? Looks like a clump of sod, or a black squirrel.

paula eagleholic said...

You mean the dark stuff, Sharon?

MITS said...

Sound good to me Jill:).

MITS said...

maybe some kind of bird????

paula eagleholic said...

Or the thingy to the left of the dark stuff in the egg cup.

paula eagleholic said...

I swear I see bird feet in the middle of the nest.

paula eagleholic said...

CT Osprey has 3 eggs now.

glo said...

I think its George

Jill said...

Looks like she flew over to BW and kidnapped one of the little ones. LOL The way the wind is blowing it could be anything. My back doo keeps blowing open. Finally had to lock it to keep it shut. I haven't seen wind like this all winter.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

I just blew up the pic and I think it is George too or at least George's kin!

paula eagleholic said...

Must be this evening's dinner. Keep your eyes peeled later!

glo said...

well yes I was gonna say either we have a dead George or we have a stuck cam.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Okay, I wasn't going to mention this on here but I have to. I have been watching the news all day about the shootings on the Virginia Tech campus. This has affected me so deeply. I think about the parents who don't know if their kids are alright. We were there just a couple of months ago for Andrews Virginia Tech Honor Band Concert. They were talking about the drill field and we were right beside there. Such a tragedy! My thoughts and prayers are definitely with the students and families.

glo said...

Now there is another thought since no one seems to have seen Belle or Lib bring him there and he doesn't seem to be moving...he has been blown out of the tree up higher and is currently stunned and kind of lying well sitting or whatever int he nest, whic could also get interesting if either eagle should return. Just a thought.

glo said...

so so terribly sad.... I just can't hardly comprehend such stuff happening here in our country but it seems to actaully be on the increase. Prayers too for all involved. I don't have it on, I can't watch it either.

Anne-Marie said...

Who is George?
When something like Virginia tech happens my office goes quiet. No one laughs or talks loud. I guess we are all saying our own prayers for them and thinking about our loved ones. With todays communications, happenings thousands of miles away affect us all.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

I did see Belle bring the poor little thing into the nest.

Virginia Tech is about 1 hour from me.

paula eagleholic said...

George is the squirrel that used to check out the Eagle nest at Kent all the time. George and Georgette!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Heidigirl, George is the name we gave to a squirrel that would visit the Kent nest.

glo said...

Oh Sharon Guess I missed that part..

glo said...

Just scrolled back and read from my aaarrgghhh and finishing mowing til I came in and saw the picture and a couple of comments. Well thne they know its there, they do have plans for at least spending more time in that nest very soon.

MITS said...

just got some pics of the 3 beautiful eggs in Conn.

paula eagleholic said...

Osprey in middle of Osprey nest

Anne-Marie said...

I guess it the same thing as putting a slow roast in the oven for dinner tonight. You just have to plan ahead.

paula eagleholic said...

Sure hope more than one hatches, Mits. They had 4 eggs last year and only one hatch.

paula eagleholic said...

Mits, I just got to see them too. Pretty eggs. That cam stays up good, too.

paula eagleholic said...

osprey gone at BW again

MITS said...

lol.....Heidi, good description:).

MITS said...

I remember that Paula, hope for the best this season, I just love watching their cam, and, the water has started to recede there.

Lakota Winyan said...

Any news on the eagles? Just love this site. I have been watching since last year.

Have a great week.

paula eagleholic said...

Nothing New, Lakota. We are watching and waiting and hoping for more eggs. Welcome!!

MITS said...

Welcome, Lakota....visit again....:)

MITS said...

Going to watch Presidents' news conference.

MITS said...

not a news conference, just a statement on the tragedy at VT.

MITS said...

Mei and Tian are together in their yard.

paula eagleholic said...

2 osprey back at BW again

ebgbfarmhand said...

Who's that in the Shepherstown nest for the past 15 minutes? Hunkered down.

paula eagleholic said...

A stick must have fallen out of the tree and is laying on the tree trunk right below the cam.

paula eagleholic said...

EBGB - That is dinner!!

paula eagleholic said...

Stick is hanging down towards the nest now.

Not a who, EBGB, more like a "what" is that.

carolinabeachmom said...

Hi all, I am back from picking up some things from CVS and Walgreens. I had my husband drive me out as the water, with the winds still strong, is still coming over the road.

carolinabeachmom said...

I see you all have been busy studying that hunk in the middle of the egg cup. Whoever said it looked like a birds foot in the middle of the cup, I agree, but that bush sure looks like a squirrel's tail.

carolinabeachmom said...

Another thought, mayabe Belle (didn't someone say they saw an eagle bring it in?) brought a replacement for her to put an egg in the nest. :) I can't wait to see what happens when and if the eagles come back. That should be something to watch.

paula eagleholic said...

Looks like winds are easing up in Maine :) Just saw an adult fly in to the nest, think he brought dinner

MITS said...

If you look at where the foot (?) is and follow it up, looks like a bird with an open mouth, with its head lying on a squirrels body, at least, that is what it looks like when I blow it up really big.

carolinabeachmom said...

Norfolk Chicks feeding now!

Comment on the Maine blog today -

Good morning all. Power out all across Maine, including my house and work. Writing from a coffee shop with the wind howling outside. For the moment there is still power at the eaglecam site, although I would expect it to go out at some point today.

Despite the challenging weather, this pair and I believe two chicks, are going to face in the next couple of days, they are in a very sturdy white pine with a well built nest. Last year the birds weathered some very strong storms and protected their chicks through it—if any pair of eagles can handle this storm these are the ones.

The worst of the wind is supposed to taper off by eight tonight, but it will still rain and be windy for a couple of days. This nest and the tree that the camera are in, I know have at least weathered 70 mph winds and fortunately the worst that is expected is 60 mph gust today.

Keep in mind as your watch these birds, that there are 400 other pairs of eagle ac ross Maine that are hunkered down as well. The birds along the coast will face wind and rain, while those up north are also facing driving heavy snow.

In reviewing the videos it certainly does appear that the adult is feeding one chick while you can see another. Please keep observing and posting videos—it will be very telling when we see two heads.

I was quite interested to read your comments and watch the video of an owl, most likely a great horned, fly by the nest. I will need to research if great-horned owls have been identified as nest predators of eagles. I was also fascinated to read your comments about both of the adults sitting on the nest over that night. Again, a phenomenon I have not heard of before.

We may loose power where I am and I may not be able to update the blog until tomorrow.

I think it is two squirrels side by side in the nest. They both have their faces looking to the left. hahahahah

carolinabeachmom said...

I wish Liberty and Belle would return to the nest.

Anne-Marie said...

thanks Paula. I have lived on that coast and it gets nasty.

carolinabeachmom said...

The poor eagles in Maine are having horrible weather now. It looks like on top of the wind, they now have blizzard or snowy conditions.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

I sure do wish somebody would come and get that thing out of the nest. Can't hardly stand looking at it!

MITS said...

I wish someone could tell us what it REALLY is.....

MITS said...

The WDFW bluebird cam has 6 eggs.

Jill said...

It's a bird, It's a squirrel, It's a ????????? I really can't see anything but a blop of dark stuff. Guess my eyes aren't as good as everybody elses. If Lib and Belle are smart they won't try to fly in this wind. They may end up in California adopting those babies. It is still bad. Not as bad but bad.

carolinabeachmom said...

Someone else take a look at our eagle nest and notice that it still says 4:32.45pm . Somethings not right here. Anyone want to give me a clue?

Jill said...

Hummm. Doesn't appear to be updating, which might explain why what is in the nest is still in the nest and why we haven't seen any eagles this evening.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Nice observation, carolinabeachmom. Frozen camera!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

The thing looks to me to be a squirrel. I zoomed in on it and it looks like the tail on the right side and head on the left.

glo said...

hmmmm let see now I wonder why the cam seems to stay on the same time , time after time after time etc etc...Oh never mind, whats the point... :(

MITS said...

My eagle-eyed sister just let me know cam is not updating....well what's new????:(

MITS said...

off to dinner and scan my puter...BBL.

Anne-Marie said...

I'm glad somebody is on the ball. Its 4:50 here and cant be the same time there unless we are in the twilight zone. Silly me and I've been stating at it. I've got a date with a new guy tonight so I'm off. Good night.

Mauley said...

Such a devastating waste of young lives, have been praying for victims' families and those wounded. Please allow me to join all of you in praying for emotional and spiritual healing for those affected by this heinous massacre. The first thing I thought of when they mentioned the drill field was Andrew and the Honor Band performance last month, and it hit home. Poor George or whatever in the nest. I know the weagles have to eat, but George is like family. Is something wrong with the cam? It isn't changing much or is it these old eyes of mine. donna

MITS said...

Nope, Donna, you are seeing straight. So sad at VT, I can't wrap my head or heart around this terrible situation.

Mauley said...

Mits, it is terrible, isn't it? But as my dear daughter explains why bad things happen to good people, "I don't know why this has happened, but one day I will know, when I see my Lord, He will explain it to me, and whatever He tells me I will be satisfied with His answer." We see through a glass darkly now but in the end we will know and be comforted in the knowledge of it. It just breaks my heart for those families. Sharon, has Andrew decided where he will attend college after graduation? I know this is hard for all of you who have college and high school aged children and grandchildren. Sharon, give Mattie and Andrew an extra hug for me tonight. God Bless You all. donna

MITS said...

God Bless you, Donna.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Mauley, when I picked Andrew up from school I had to get out of the car and just hug him. I haven't been able to stop watching this all day. Andrew is going to Concord University in Athens (about 30 minutes from here) and I am so glad.

Mits, I too can't wrap my head or heart around this.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Well, I think I am going to find something lighthearted on TV and lie down a while. I love you guys and I am so glad you are in my life!

MITS said...

Backatcha....Sharon:).

paula eagleholic said...

Well how the heck did the cam get frozen like that??

paula eagleholic said...

Guess no one got to see what happened to birdie/george/georgette/?????

carolinabeachmom said...

Just finished checking in on the Maine nest and is it getting whipped around. I do hope it is still there when I look in in the morning. What more could those poor eagles have to deal with?

paula eagleholic said...

Oh, I forgot to let everyone know that Jo arrived at her destination safely. :)

carolinabeachmom said...

Well, I will have school tomorrow,so I had better check out. I hope you all have a very lovely and safe night tonight. Don't forget the banding of the chicks at 8:30 to 9:00. Keep your eyes out for eggs in our nest tomorrow if the cam comes back to life. Good night eagle watchers.

carolinabeachmom said...

Paula, thanks for letting us know that Jo made it to New York ok. God guided her way.

carolinabeachmom said...

I haven't gone yet. :) Now it is saying the banding will be at 3:00 at Norfolk if you all want to see that. I just went to the site to make sure of the time and saw it was changed.

MITS said...

They've changed the time at VA to 3:00p.m.for the banding.

S. Cruz is feeding.

movin said...

Paula and all,
I saw that "animal" in Kent's nest, tried to process the pic in PictureIt, but I couldn't make out what it was....

Well, I was just looking again while the mama was turning the eggs, but the "animal" disappeared. The mama is using a bunch of soft material like that to insulate herself (like they use grass). I don't think it was an animal...see what you think.

Jim

movin said...

Yep, I think George is still safe ... although I haven't personally seen him lately.

MITS said...

Good Night Everyone:).

movin said...

Hi again. I took a long look at the masses in our nest, since the cam's frozen (before you said something I thought they were depressions they had dug out today).

It just might be wet material she dug out of the bottom of the nest to dry. Otherwise, I can't I.D. it...it wouldn't be herbs to season the fish, would it?

Good night/good morning...

Jim

Suzanne said...

Good morning, eagle world. Actually made it a few minutes early this morning, and what happens? No power! Bummer! A lot of the lights in Tyson's Corner were out this morning, on Rt 7, which didn't hurt my feelings, just helped me get here even earlier. But then, our bldg had no power either, so the other 4 o'clock person and I sat around and talked. Kept waiting to hear an announcement that they were closing the building, but the restored power instead. So guess I'm working today.

What in the world is in our nest? I see we have no cam, I presume the wind/snow/rain has blogged it up, but there is a whole bunch of what looks like fuzzy stuff in the nest. No earthly idea what that is. Jim, saw your comment about herbs for the fish... that's a LOT of herbs! And it appears fuzzy. No clue, the mystery of the day... what's in our nest?
Lady BW is sleeping with the kids again, but all they can fit under her is their heads now. Looks like she's smothering them, but I know she's not. Osprey nest is MT, so guess nobody spent the night, and of course it's still dark, so can't really see the falcon. Or much of anything else for that matter. Looks like Lib and Belle brought in a bunch more sticks too, so maybe that's sod or something like the ospreys use.
May try to read blogs from yesterday if I have time.

All have a great eagle day. Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!

Suzanne said...

Well, the BW chicks have inched the parent out of the nest and onto the side. They are smack dab in the middle of the nest! Parent is awake and keeping guard while the chicks sleep away.
Nobody in osprey nest yet, and of course our cam is down. Bummer.

Suzanne said...

Getting daylight out. Chicks are really stretching all over the nest. I presume parent went for breakfast. Haven't seen anybody in the osprey nest, and there is usually at least 1 that stops by before dayliight. PA falcon snoozing on her eggs. Still dark out west, so can't see Kent or WA osprey. I hope our ospreys haven't given up for the season! That was a nice story Lisa posted on the site. Hope ours do the same and lay more eggs.

carolinabeachmom said...

Good Morning Suzanne and all eagle watchers out there in eagle land. I am just checking in to say "Hi!" and see if our cam is working this morning. I guess we all stared at it for awhile before we realized it was stuck. After the long sitting of Belle in the nest, I think we were all waiting to see what would happen when the birds returned to the nest in the pm. Instead, we had a lot of time to ponder what was in the nest.

I have school today:( so I won't be able to watch. Hopefully when our cam comes back on, we will see either Belle sitting in the egg cup or maybe an egg appeared in the overnight.

Don't forget that the change was made to 3pm for the banding of the birds at Norfolk.

Better get going, or I'll want to stay here and watch. Hope you have a nice day. Hoping for an egg today when I come home.

Suzanne said...

Morning, Candy. Did you guys reach any conclusion on what was in the nest? Haven't read the blogs yet.

Hope you have a great day at school. Take your vitamins! I'd need a ton to keep up with kindergarten kids!

If the cam comes up, and Lib and Belle visit, I'll send you pics.

Suzanne said...

Both ospreys are in the nest, have been for a few minutes. they aren't interacting, but they're not ignoring each other either. They're standing side by side, so I'm hoping this is our couple and they're ready to try again.

Big fish has just arrived for chick's breeakfast.

Suzanne said...

Well, the smaller chick has his own piece of fish to eat, and looks like Lady BW is eating also. The larger chick is sorta supervising. She was fed first, so she may be full. (Can't see crop, so don't know.)
Both ospreys are still in nest.

Suzanne said...

Mom was helping hold the fish, but now the chick has the whole thing. Well...what's left, anyway.

Well, down to 1 osprey. Breakfast is over for the chicks. Leftover fish has been partially covered up with a flower. Or at least they tried to cover it. As usual, chicks are napping! PA falcon asleep on her eggs, and you can see the tree shadow in Kent. Well, no, chicks aren't napping. They're just sitting watching the world go by. Oh, gonna try the fish again. Picking their own.

Both ospreys back, and it may be our couple. Let's hope! Chicks are now snuggling, but not sure they're napping. Mom falcon is on the eggs, Dad is on the pole outside the nest box. Very dark again in Kent, so whatever that light was is gone now.

Good Morning Suzanne, Carolinabeachmom, and Jim. It seems like the massacre at VT was a nightmare, but we all woke up to realize what a tragedy we have experienced. Morning prayers going up for all in need. I miss Mema Jo already. I assume she arrived safely in NY. Nasty weather here, too. You eagle friends have a blessed day. Remember that God holds us in the palm of His hand and according to Isaiah 49:16 Behold, I have graven them upon the palms of my hand. May He who has the power comfort those grieving loved ones as only He can, and may those precious ones find comfort in Him in Heaven. Love you all donna

Good morning, Donna. Thanks for that verse! It is a terrible tragedy! I just don't understand what's going on with kids these days, it's just so unreal. Seems they think nothing of bringing guns to school. What in the world are the parents doing while their kids are bringing guns to class?????

Yeah, I miss Jo too. Hope she made it safely! I had flurries yesterday going home, so the snow hasn't quite quit yet.

Now both parents are in the nest with the chicks, and the leftover fish is covered with grass. Dad brought a new fish for mid morning snack. Or breakfast number 2. Still 2 ospreys in nest.

Ok, Lady BW left, Lord BW taking over feeding duties. And it's not a new fish, they just moved it. to in front of the chicks...they can help themselves while Lord BW supervises. No sooner said that than he's gone. Poof.

One osprey gone, one standing guard.

Just noticed the NO VIDEO notice on the WA osprey cam. Duh. No wonder it's not getting anywhere near light out there. Well, dang! And our cam is still out.

Oh my goodness, we have a chick butt waaaaaayyyy over the edge.

Good morning everybody. Thanks Donna for that verse. I can't quit watching TV. When I took Andrew to school this morning, I said a prayer as I was leaving to please keep our babies safe. We just never know from one second to the next what life is going to hand us. I do know that God carries us through, no matter what!

Sure do wish we could get a reset on our camera.

GOOD MORNING, EAGLE PEOPLE,

cam still frozen, no new thread as of a few secs ago.

I'm a wreck this morning from staying up late doing my taxes on TurboTax On-line. Been sitting here looking at this silly thing for a half hour and still no coffee!!

Be back....

Jim
