Light snow flurries in Maine. Maine is suppose to get snow again today.

Suzanne said...

Thanks for the new thread, Steven. Thanks for the heads up, Mits.

Copied this over from other blog:

Glad you liked the pics! She is a very patient eagle! Looks like she's standing there waiting for him to come back again. Guess he's sowing his oats now, cause I don't think it will be long before the nest is gonna have to be staffed 24/7, and he won't have time to
play!

Guess you had to be there...

She's still sitting in nest! She's not going very far today, is she?

Suzanne said...

Oh my, miss manners is on vacation! Good morning all I haven't spoken to! Hope you all have a great eagle day.

Suzanne said...

Getting daylight in Kent. Cam1 is back in the branches. Neat view for us.

Anonymous said...

Snowing harder in Maine beautiful

Belle is really sitting around the nest.

Glo's guess is 18th (tonight), my guess is 19 (Fri. night) as to when Belle will stay in nest overnight. Anyone else want to guess. It's only a guess. But fun to see who gets it right.??????

Anonymous said...

Wonder if this will be Belle's first night in the nest..she sure is hanging out there this morning. Maybe she's too full to fly after breakfast.

Anonymous said...

Kent is staring to show see the nest has lost alot of the snow from in it. Still needs more light.

Buta Buta has wiggled some but that is about it. Of course out of nest as soon as cam came on and she was laying on the concrete floor I think near fence area.

Anonymous said...

bbr going for cup of hot chol mocha coffee

Suzanne said...

Dana, I'm gonna guess tonight will be her first night in the nest. She ate like a little porker this morning, she may be storing up energy for sitting on an egg for a while till Liberty can bring her something to eat. We'll see what happens. Man, won't I be surprised if I come in in the morning and the nest is occupied! If it is, sure hope nobody else is here... they'll hear me yelling out at the guard desk!!!

Mits said...

Belle is just sitting there so nice. NORMA, FLA was great, and Tai was his usual wonderful cub.

Mits said...

Love the way Belle gets all fluffy.

Anonymous said...

My guess is it is still too early for eggs....IMHO

Anonymous said...

I bet you are right, Suzanne, because she ate the whole fish herself and I bet he was up above her in the tree during some of the time she was eating. OH, sorry, good morning everyone!

Anonymous said...

Good Morning Everyone!

I am a "lurker" and have decided to come in and introduce myself.

I am new to blogging - but from reading your blog over the last year, I knew this was the place to start.

I am curious about the live feed, I only get the refreshing still picture, can anyone tell me how to access the live feed?

I look forward to blogging with you all!

Anonymous said...

Hi eagles are awesome welcome. Glad you joined us. Will go get the direct link for you and post in a minute but . as you probably already know..live seems to have some battery issues, so doesn't always work for us yet this season. Hold on:

Anonymous said...

Live feed page

http://www.fws.gov/nctc/cam/videoinstr.html

Anonymous said...

Welcome! on the front page of the blog there is a link to click on for the live feed, it says video feed info- just click on it.

Anonymous said...

Thanks Glo, seems like you are the queen of the blog! :>)

Anonymous said...

Good Mid Morning All Full house and a newcomer! Live feed is down right now but if you click at the top left of this page on NCTC Eagle Cam Daily and go to the home page. Upper right click on Live Video Feed and the link for the live cam on RealPlayer is there.

Lot of speculation going on! Paula has sent out email 2 polls for us. Don't forget to vote on How Many Eggs and what date that 1st egg will be in the nest! FUN!
I am running late this morning - Speakers blew and trying to put others on. Headed for a noon time appointment & will be back this afternoon.

Anonymous said...

I am the one who is stuck to this chair every moment I ge to watch these 3 eagles in particular, but we are all queens with a couple of kings thrown in LOL.

Anonymous said...

Belle's gone!

Anonymous said...

I guess I didn't realize what the email was about, Dana. I thought it was about the 30 second cam...guess I'll go read it again!

Anonymous said...

Hi ( : welcome eagles are awesome. Great name. I am so glad you came into the blog. This is a great place. Met some wonderful people here. And in real life too.

Paula you could be right that's why we are just guessing a date.

Anonymous said...

Hey Paula, did you see the big article in yeaterday's Washington Post about the eagle at Blackwater? It was interesting.

Anonymous said...

Eagle in BW eagle nest both were there one flew out probably be back again.

Anonymous said...

I wish I could get my trash can back..and my pic. The article was in the style section, all about the amount of eagles who winter over at Blackwater. Really nice article. It was called the Bald and the Bountiful.

Mits said...

WELCOME, EAGLES ARE AWESOME. GOOD TO HAVE YOU WITH US.

Anonymous said...

I got it all set up and am ready to watch this season's activity!

It is nice to be welcomed into the blog, thank you all for your help.

All little about me, I am a mid-lifer nursing school student. (Most of the people I go to school with are younger than my child!) But I have the life experience on my side, can't get that from a text book!

I have been watching various eagle cams for the last 5 years or so, back in the day of that dreadful dial up - used to have a great one in Alaska - but this is awesome, never a dull moment with these creatures!

Can't wait for the live feed!

You gals (and guys) are very diverse and I look forward to hanging out with you all!

I predict a smaller brood this year, they need a little break from all the hard work last year! Maybe just 1 or 2 young-uns!

Mits said...

Megan, guess I will have to break down and read the WP article, not my favorite newspaper.

Suzanne said...

Welcome eagles are awesome. If you've been lurking, you know you're in for a good ride this season!

Didn't get Paula's emails, will check yahoo mail.

Eagle in eagle nest, BW.

Kent is beautiful.

Anonymous said...

To be honest, don't read it like I used to, get a lot of my news from internet new sites. But hubby buys it avery day, and showed me the article yesterday, it was just inside the Style section.

Anonymous said...

Floral,
My boss laid the article on my desk this morning! I haven't had a chance to read it yet....

Suzanne said...

This may also be the first night for the BW eagle to spend the night. I usually see one or both of them in the morning, then don't see them again by the time I leave. She's been in the nest frequently this morning, but she doesn't stay long. Got to check other mail, find out what's going on...

Anonymous said...

Mits, hope you had a great visit in Florida; hope Sharon is doing OK; and hoping Nilla will get some answers about her leg today. Some good news, I hope. Going off in search of my stolen pic. BBL

Anonymous said...

Paula, hubby never said a word, just laid the paper in front of me, and I started to complain that "I didn't want to read someone's interesting obituary or some political article right now"...and then I saw the eagle pic and grabbed the paper. He walked away laughing.

Mits said...

LOL...Megan, sounds like something I would do. My hubby is the same, if he finds something about eagles or pandas he passes it along..now that is true love.

normabyrd said...

FLORALGIRL & MITS----YES!---That is TRUE love----Is the article in today's paper?---I only get POST on Sun.---but if it's today's w/get one----

Anonymous said...

Norma saw your post on Daily Motion...that you found and watched yesterdays video. I am glad you got to see it. I don't think that happens very often. at least I hope for everyone sake that it doesn't.

Suzanne said...

I get the Post online, I have copied the article if anyone wants it. (Haven't read it yet, though.) Also copied the pics. Let me know.

Did my voting on momsters!!

MT nests all around...

Anonymous said...

Going to Momster site to check out poll to put mine in my vote on when 1st egg will lay and how many egg or eggs.

Anonymous said...

OK Paula and Dana I took the polls and cast my vote. I was thinking yesterday that Friday was the 18 , so on the poll I voted for Fri the 19th LOL. I think that pretty much covers teh 18th and 19th for me.

, WET NOODLE is under lock and key and Dexter is posted as guard. remember he does growl when he gets upset LOL

Anonymous said...

Suz,
I put another poll up with earlier dates.

Suzanne said...

Oh, Norma, the Kent cam 1 now shows the branches where the eagles perch sometimes when they're not in the nest. Cool view, isn't it?

Anonymous said...

Buta Buta and Lun Lun playing now

I am re-looking at my guess of 1st day to stay in nest overnight Glo?????? I also polled but probably going back and repoll..

Suzanne said...

Time for me to hit the road. All have a great eagle day. Hopefully, that includes a lot of eagle watching. They must all be out to lunch now, all nests MT.

Hi Eagles are Awesome - and welcome! I was pretty much a lurker last year, but it's lots more fun to post !!!

Suzanne, if you can I'd like a copy of the article too (and the photos please)

Opps, hello to all, sorry about my manners.,

Mits, I would love to have caught up with you in FL - maybe next year? Didn't realize you were going to be in FT. Lauderdale, that is sooooo close to me.

I'm off to go vote on when and how many, bbl

Mits said...

Missed it, Paula, they said because it is a solar-powered cam, it would mess up sometimes. because of fog and clouds. I love they way it is perched high above the water.

Mits said...

NILLA thought you were supposed to stay put.....doesn't Dawn have a hubby? I do not want you driving around til you hear from your Doctor.

Anonymous said...

Glo, Great video of the intruder. Looks like an immature eagle to me...did anyone else see white tail feathers on it?

Mits said...

Iris, sorry I missed you, where do you live down there? My friend homsteads, so she lives there from November til May, then comes back to her home in Fenwick Island Delaware

Lunchtime at BW - anyone able to get FL up today...wanted to check in on Mom...

eagle-eyed sharon said...

Good afternoon everybody. I was home by 9:30 a.m. and went straight to bed. Colonoscopy went well, didn't even know it was happening. It did not show anything that would cause the liver abscess so I don't know what the next step will be in finding the origin of it. More will definitely be revealed.

A great big welcome to "Eagles are Awesome". Glad you joined us. This is a really awesome bunch of people on here.

eagle-eyed sharon said...

Lun Lun was just dragging Buta Buta around by her hind leg, still is. She was just going back and forth. Now Buta wants to play I think. Oh no, now she is dragging her by her ear!

eagle-eyed sharon said...

Lun Lun looked like she was practicing her acrobatics on the big limb in the hallway!

eagle-eyed sharon said...

Now Buta is checking out the limb.

Anonymous said...

So glad to see Sharon and Nilla both came in. Hope you both soon get to feeling much better though.

Mits said...

Looks like a tree limb in Butas' den.

Anonymous said...

Lun Lun was just standing on her head !!!

Anonymous said...

Well my vote for the Inruder video yesterday is an immature eagle too. It was large enough that I feel good if its one of our young from last year as ti is probably thriving well!!!
Good to see Sharon and Nilla on here.

Nilla you best be listening to Thelma ...she sounds serious!!!

IrisF said...

OK, I've voted and how did it get to be lunchtime already? Way past as a matter of fact!

And, hubby isn't even complaining...yet. Better go do that before he does.

Checked in on "the little Prince" he was so busy eating bamboo. He is so cute to watch though.

Mits said...

Lun-Lun was just climbing the fence, maybe she needs some time out from Buta.

Anonymous said...

Hi Again! Back from appointment & ready to do some guess work on the polls. It was good to hear from Delphia & must go over & see new pics in her album.
Hey there, Norma Maybe you could win a "Night at the Nest" for your prize. lol
I did hear from Sharon & she did wonderfully well with the test & she said nothing found! She was so 'up' about her report. Didn't mean to take the good news from her reporting it but I know how much we all are concerned! I don't think she'll get the wet noodle after me!

I see a new educational toy in the den for ButaButa... LunLun couldn't figure how to get on the other side of it to get to ButaButa awhile ago. Now I see our Little Princess sound asleep under it. Hopefully she will learn the basics of tree climbing.

Anonymous said...

Sharon, glad your procedure went well and you are home again. Hope Nilla is resting, slow down woman til you find out what is wrong. I can't watch the video nest intruder:( but when I went to the nest the other day, I am quite sure it was a juvenile sitting in a tree near the nest. And one of the adults was sitting directly above the nest. It is their first winter so they are not expert hunters and cold here now and they are probably trying to see if they can get any food from parents.

Anonymous said...

I don't know if poor Buta Buta has that pole figured out or not. Maybe she feels trapped.

Anonymous said...

Glo remember you and me were guessing the first night Belle would spend in nest. Well after reviewing things I am guessing between you and me and the tree stump lol and anyone else that wants to play. Night in nest Feb.10th a Saturday I also have did both of the polls.

IrisF said...

Mits, we are usually in FL from Nov to May also. Then we go back to Red Lion, PA, near York for the summer.

We are in Boca Raton, just north of Deerfield and just about 25 minutes from the Ft. Lauderdale Airport. For some reason, I thought you were going to Orlando or I would have mentioned it before you left.

Maybe we will get to meet in WV in May when Vicky and Glo come for their visit??? It would be so much fun to meet you all.

Anonymous said...

Yes Glo that is quite a change. I know they did the deed but I'm looking back at last season. I don't know if she could handle this hard weather with egg or eggs.
Well we'll certainly see won't we.

I'm just really praying and hope everyone else does that they get the "live feed up and running". We really need it.

Anonymous said...

Florida nest is up...Mom still incubating the eggs. Poor eagle. I know that we are watching "Mother Nature in the Raw", but I still feel sorry for this eagle couple.

Anonymous said...

YES dana that is a good point. It woul dbe pretty hard to be sitting in the nest in mid winter.

Anonymous said...

Checkiing out the weather on weather channel tv. California had some snow. Wonder what part Jim lives in. Hey Jim did you get snow???

Wondering when we will get our hit tonight tomorrow??????

Mits said...

Iris, my friend is about 15 mins. from Ft. Lauderdale airport, it is so easy coming and going at that airport, makes traveling there a piece of cake.

Anonymous said...

Yep Florida right now is way too much like Hornsby last year. I haven't loaded it again. I can't watch that...too sad. Too many sounds still echo in my ears from Hornsby pair .

Mits said...

PAULA, FLORIDA NEST IS BACK UP AND MOM IS SITTING THERE.

Anonymous said...

Yes Paula for some reason I just can't bring myself to keep watching her. Hopefully someone will comment that they have mated again. With a new start...
How long would they sit on infertile eggs?????????????? The poor dear sniffle sniffle

Mits said...

Tai is trying to nurse....and Mei is not letting him.

Anonymous said...

I tried to post when there was an eagle a while ago in Maine. Blogger gave me all kinds of problems. Wouldn't even refresh.

Anonymous said...

Buta Buta has an itch & doing pretty darn good at scratching it for being under the log! lol

Anonymous said...

Wouldn't it be great (but impossible?) to place a fertile egg under our FL 'wanta be mom'! They do that other at other nests, you know.

Anonymous said...

Camera zoomed in on ButaButa

Anonymous said...

Dana, from what I understand, she will sit on the eggs until they break.

Eagle still at BW Osprey cam.

Going to another office, talk to everyone later this evening.

Hello, all. What a fright! I thought buta buta had been crushed by that branch, but now I see that it's a new toy and she loves it. I have meetings all day today and it's so restful to watch her in between.

Anonymous said...

Wish we had sound on her because I think I am seeing some vocalizatons..

Anonymous said...

Oh Sandra! She was lying so still there for awhile - That is probably when you tuned in....

Anonymous said...

I guess her play time zonked her out!

LunLun is certainly getting a long break..

Anonymous said...

Thanks for the article Norma.

Anonymous said...

Yes Mema Jo it would be nice if they would let her just be a "foster Mom" the eaglet would never know. It would stop her from going through all this..
I don't think writing to Florida is any help. They only answer when and whom they want.

normabyrd said...

BUTA climbed over the log---SHE'S COOL-----

Anonymous said...

Norma ButaButa ROLLED over the log LOL

She is one adorable little princess & she is making me tired from just watching all her movements!
This is the 2nd time LunLun has been there when Buta is on the other side of the log & I think it confuses her as to how to get her little girl.

So ButaButa solved her concern & just walked right out to her mom.

Oh my heavens just seen on CNN. Pepsi nor Aquia water doesn't have anything to do with it.
There are hidden compartments in the bottles. Selling in Miami for $20.00 to $35.00 a bottle. 1pt.9oz
Can't seen any difference if you turn bottle upside down even clean water. Man on CNN put his pager in the compartment in the water bottle. Couldn't see it. Using these bottle for drugs. Just twist the top of bottle and it's a little pepsi or water.
