The cub received her fifth health check today. She is strong and in excellent health. She weighs 2485 g (about 5.5 lbs) and measures 46 cm (about 18 in) from her nose to the tip of her tail. Well The last time I saw Sharon she was in the nest with George at Kent, which is why I want her to know he gets around...Well of course there could be more than one George. Who knows which George was in Kent to begin with, but Sharon recognized George, she probably knows who he is. Too bad she is working and can't defend herself here LOL. OK well bewteen CRS and no time to read the BLOGS I think we will drop this one, but I do hope you all are aware that George does seem to get around to various nesting places.

Now I know why "Oscar" the seagull likes that used Osprey nest. There is a salt marsh nearby. Smart seagull.

Steve Chase said there use to be alot of geese on the NCTC property.

Geese won't stay long where there are raptors. My sister is praying to get eagles to nest on Cherokee lake in Tenn where she has a lakeside home. Canada geese taking over. I love them, though, I wish the eagles could have the option of only eating fish, but alas, the food chain does have some pitfalls are small mammals.
Meer Kat Manor is Miss Kitty's favorite show. She opens her mouth and goes Ka Ka Ka Ka Ka, she gets so excited. Just like she is tring to meow and stuttering.Have any of you noticed your cats doing this when there is a bird outside the window.??????? My grandmother used to say that was a method cats used to charm birds. Old wives tale I am sure. Anyway, Miss Kitty does that little chant thingy when she sees a bird outside or watches the Meer kats.
We play James Monroe, Normabyrd. They are #2 and we are #7. Next week, we play #1 Scott. Both teams are undefeated so these will definitely be 2 challenging games.
There are a pair of eagles where my husbands cousin lives. We go down someimes. Last time I saw the one fly towards the water get a fish then fly by the house circle to their nest. It is at a place called "The Lake Of The Woods" off route 3 between Culpeper and Fredericksburg Virginia.

hello all headache today, but wanted to check in...
dana My dogs are Italian Greyhounds, which are the toy variety. Unlike Whippets, which were bred down from the racing Greyhounds, IGs are a separate breed. Iggies were originally bred as ladies' companion dogs during the Italian Renaissance, hence the name. They are sight hounds, just like the racers, and will chase lures just like the racers. But IGs tend to be fragile. My old girl, Pepper, broke her leg when she was about a year old. She had to have a plate with five screws put in. Joey is must sturdier, thankfully!

Nilla I have been a fan of The Elephant Sanctuary for several years now, and have followed many of the ups and downs. It saddens me that Jenny has passed on, but I am glad that she is no longer in pain. :-)

I think I was a Panda mom in a previous life! I could certainly handle Lun Lun's life lately - eat, nurse, cuddle her cub, sleep, repeat.... for months - giving birth to something the size of a stick of butter would've been easier too.... I could go for some baby snuggling and napping about now!

BRrrrrrr Ick! That's what I'd rather be sheltering in - LOL no tents for me - I'm like the third lil piggy - I want a strong house of brick so I won't have to feel cold (Brrr) and muddy (Ick)! I'm so tired I'm super silly this evening_
My idea of camping is the Holiday Inn Express.

I agree with the camping at the hotel - and I'm worried about him catching a cold or pneumonia or something, but boys will be boys and hopefully he'll have enough fun to make it worthwhile. well i added a E to mine Dana, any who just waiting for Ken to get home from work....... I do want to tell you about the 4pppnow drug program. Jo i think the bus was in Frederick few days ago and i called it and spoke with someone. They are sending me forms to fill out for 3 different programs. (Bought Zocor yesterday $167.00 refill) So if any of these work for me it will greatly help as Plavix is about $130.00 a month and thats generic brand, and my toprol XL runs $40.00 a month, SO if any of you need alittle help it easy to apply. Hopefully i will get them at a reduced rate or even free. Montel Williams endorses this program. Check it out

Norma did you read where the guy painted a bridge near you pink because of Breast Cancer month? He got in trouble to as it had to be approved, but was told to come back n paint it white after month is up. Pretty good deed huh bought paint with his own money also.

Hi evryone. Vicky and her hubby have left to go home. About a 3 hour drive from now I owuld guess. They are tired but have had a very nice vacation. WE took a minute for her to stop in and say Hi but remember we haven't met before either. We spent about 3 hours totally enjoying each others company. I think a wonderful time was had by all. I know I enjoyed every minute they were here. Yep we got pictures, and WE ate cookies too. They did NOT go to the National zoo. They changed their mind on that plan, so she didn't have Buta Buta with her. I am not sure if she will sign on tonight or not. You know how tiring a vacation can be LOL. OK got to feed and walk my dogs. I am sure that Vicky and Billdid not thinkt he dogs are spoiled at all.
So glad to see that Chrisssy mad it on here too.
