Hi everyone. back from my days drive. it was nice and lots of pretty scenery but very cold and windy. Kept hoping I owuldn't blow off some of the scenic outlooks. Had Swedish Pancakes for lunch at a place called Stockholm Inn they were wonderful and I have leftovers for tomorrow as well.

OK, sorry, hubby finally walked thru the door, Jo, we always get there 15-20 min before it starts, there are programs all day at different times, if you start early hopefully you can see all the ones that interest you. When you drive in they will direct you to a lot where you can catch a shuttle bus that will drop you off in front of the main building and when you go in you will get a program. That building has some interesting exhibits and also the auditorium.

The man on the right side of the flyer is Larry Battson, he and his wife Cheryl have been coming to the open house for years. Been watching the Jefferson cam in Bluefield, looking for the bus. Sharon drove by it the other day and waved at the cam. Yeah, she was not happy about going to this one, said it is the armpit of the state.

The Aficam looks almost too light for the time over there, checked Pete's Pond (same time) and it is darker. Both of those cams really mess the puter up by freezing and not responding at times.
The giraffe is beautiful...I have the sound turned off...

Mits i dont have any blinking ad on my screen at petes pond?? I dont have any trouble viewing it at all. The reason its so light now is the camera man hasnt changed the filters on the camera to day light like it should be. We had the same problem the other night and screen was white n grey til they fixed it..
JO I was supposed to go home tomorrow, hubby was in NY yesterday and informed me he has to go back tomorrow and Sunday, so I'm staying here, I don't have to be home til the end of the month, for Maggie's' christening.

I have both sites up Petes n Africam and both have ducks quackin..Wild cam africa is white no picture thats Petes.. Africam that pond is very small compared to Petes and havent seen as much action there.. But Mits i dont have anything blinkin on either cam that annoying.. The wild cam did the white thing the other morning they will fix it

ok see the middle box up at the top in the right hand corner? click it will make those windows smaller.. then use the slide bar to arrange the window.. Not hard

Grip any where on the blue at top and hold dowm mouse left side to drag your windows around.. to make them smaller also move your curser over the side til you get like adouble arrow and then hold down left side mouse n drag it in or out making it smaller or bigger..

Lots of interesting info at the FAQ's page about the animals at the pond.
Fatty is the resident juvenile Nile crocodile. He was raised as part of a reintroduction program but was out-competing his fellows for food in the "nursery" and therefore growing much faster than they were - hence his name, Fatty. Last year he was moved to the pond to let the other little crocs have a chance at the food.
Last year he caught a fish almost as big as he was. This year, he is bigger (about 2 meters long) and has lunged at warthogs and ostriches, and successfully caught a guinea fowl. There are YouTube videos of all these events listed in the ScreenShots/Videos thread.
Just got home. The football team lost but the BAND ROCKED!!! Tomorrow is competition in Wytheville, Virginia but don't have to get up early for that. We don't leave until noon. Great to see you here, Nilla. Have missed you terribly.

GOOD MORNING!!! Beautiful Fall morning, the air feels crisp and clean. Fed the birds some sunflower seed, walked thru the garden, the pineapple sage and Indigo Blue salvias are 5' tall and still blooming beautifully! Everything else is looking sad, two heavy frosts, more to come this wknd. Hope everyone has a great day, sure Paula is already at Colorfest, and Sharon hope the band does great at competition this afternoon. Hummers are definitely gone, but a huge flock of cedarwaxwings,(60-75)has arrived!

Just watched Lun Lun picking up Buta Buta...it does look like the change in size and weight is making all of this a little tricker for lun lun to maneuver until Buta Buta is a little more mobile and helpfull as her size increases. Lun Lun seemed very careful as he picked her up.
JIM, has been having that cold of his hanging on. Was surprised not to see him.
