sorry for all the long words,, I have had it for 8 years now and no its not just a UK thing many millions of people contract the Virus when they have has a serious Illness preceeding it and they dont start to pick up in health as they should for one reason or another, in my case it was a mixture of Pneumonia and a very low Liver count after having a Hysterectomy that didn't go to well, seeing we are being a little gorey tonight I thought I might join in too.

OK I understand now Chrissy - thanks for the clarification - never heard ME, but have heard of CFS and Fibromyalgia - that's what bird girl has I believe, my neighbor has it, as well. Very frustrating indeed - she feels great for a bit and tries to do too much because of things that didn't get done during a bad spell, then it flares up again and she's miserable... No not me Belle but when I was a teenager. Across the street lived a elderly lady. She was very lonesome after her husband died. I use to bake cookies and take over to her. She taught me how to play
canasta. I thought it was so exciting that she had (remember that was years back) a card shuffler. Now those card shufflers are everywhere. After she past there was no one to play with so I have forgotten how to play.

When i came on here all we actually had was AOL..ICQ.. MPLAYER.. YAHOO nad not like todays sites.. Mplayer was the first to get sound and video cams in rooms...and Mplayer closed.. Icq WAS a joke.. Oh we did have a free phone service we used to call all over from comps but then they started chargin..So we all went to Paltalk i even worked for them for awhile teaching people the site..

Now, I have had a few cats in my life but their names were so glamorous - Mousetrap, Trapcat, D-Con, Phydeaux (okay that one was good), Spudsy, Pale Rider, Pretty Little Yeller Cat (who loved to get in the box with new puppies we had that were half beagle/half dachshund), and Garfield, to name a few.

Lord if could not begin to even remeber some of the names of pets my chilkdern had as we had alarge farm house I always had a multi colored cat n named them Cottonball.. she ad so many kittens and i always had to be there when she did i was her cat mid wife... My daughter Melissa had 1 called peanut butter.. we had smokey.. Oh son had a dog he names ChopperBalls.. BBL watching news

its always up and running 24/7 at the moment if you go to CAM 1 you will get the live pictures of the swallows, a little sleepy but stil animated, there are four of them, they were hatched on Tuesday, you can see them as they are well lit and it doesnt seem to bother the birds

Glad to see you are back amongst us...I was reading the end of the last thread and saw some comments about quitting smoking; so I thought I would put my $40/carton worth in. [They may be more here in California now, they keep adding "goodie taxes" after the smokers.]
Anyhow, about 4 1/2 years ago I was having a terrible time breathing, went to the "Walk-in Clinic" and was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure. [Fairly good now with treatment].
I had been a pretty heavy smoker for many years, and I definitely didn't want to quit. But after a few months of treatment, the Specialist told me there wasn't a lot of point in him treating me if I just kept making it worse..... You might have heard the same things.
After several attempts at quitting cold-T, I still hadn't gotten it done totally, so I tried (Doctor OK'd it) Nicoderm patches on May 30, 2002...took my time on the "steps" (1-3), and I haven't had a smoke since that day!
I had some strong cravings at times, but in recent months that has almost gone away too.
So, in spite of some bad comments by people I knew, the patches worked like a charm for me...worst problem I had was keeping the thing stuck to my arm instead of my T-shirt, which I solved by putting a piece of tape or bandaid over it.
It's worth a try, Nilla...might seem a little expensive, but it's a lot cheaper than 2 cartons of cigarettes a week...even at Sam's Club.

Hi Jim yes i already got the NicoDerm patches but i got the number 1 and it says if you dont smoke atleast 10 aday start with number 2 ? If you have read i had 3 heart stents put in this wk for 90% blockages in my LAD... LEFT ANTIOR DESCENDING.. sure Sharon will correct that.. havent had a cigarette since monday early morning i think.. Ok brb

Jim good on ya for quitting the habit - sounds like you were a pretty heavy smoker. I am so glad I never started, I'm sure I'd have a very tough time quitting... though I'm stubborn enough I guess I could do it if I had to :)
