Thank you, GLO I will give MAGGIE the hug when I see her. Everyone loved the eagle bear and knew all the love and good wishes that came with it. Please keep praying for us, as some tests are still pending. Really can't go in to details right now. MTBRL!!

Prayers will continue in here for Geula and little Maggie who is Mits first Grandchild. Did anyone know that?
Mits where are you home or back to O.C.?

Good morning all,

Happy Sunday. Mits - Love to you and Maggie, I hope she's doing well and everyone is getting good sleep at night already. Still praying. She is love and loved by all - that's the most important ingredient and the prayers just cement it all together.

Took me awhile to get in here- thanks Sharon for putting the link on the momster site - that's where I headed.

Now I have to get some work done... not having a great day again, so will be a chore. Ha - punny - work/chore.. sorry

I'll check back later - hope everyone is having a great day and can enjoy the beautiful weather. I am visioning our eagles soaring high in the beautiful skies

I will be staying close to home for awile, hoping that MAGGIE will get the go-ahead to come to the beach in the near future. She seems to be getting on a good schedule so far, fingers crossed, but she is such a good baby, much like my son was, very quiet and I think that has alot to do with how early she was, the hospital has classified her as a preemie. Thanks, BELLE Love is a powerful thing.

MITS said...

Ok, all you Grandmoms out there, educate me, son just called and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law are going to watch Baby Maggie for a couple of hours, so son and wife can go out to store, just to have some time together, and they have people coming at 2 and 5, so we will not get to see Maggie today. Darn! Must give them some space, right? No matter how much I want to be there, right> Tee Hee! I want to be a good Grandma.

glo said...

Mits Yep its got its tough times trying to figure out what your role is now that the kids think they are old and grown up and you however are a Newly excited can't get enough of that baby, Grandma I think its a learning process..just like parenting is. Ya never quite figure it out. BUT your heart will help you know what to do not do/say and not say...Oh and when you ooops...Just remember you aren't gonna be a perfect Grandma but You will be a loving one!!!

MITS said...

Tai and Mei are putting on quite the show..

MITS said...

Thanks, GLO

wvgal_dana said...

Earlier Mom was sitting eating bamboo and Tai was on a limb just by Mom. He used his feet on her head to push off and biting at her.
You could see her head push forward from the little stinker.
I haven't been able for some reason to get into Conn. site to see Little smurf that is now Little Teddy bear. Anyone else having trouble there? When in different ways nope.

Great to hear from Geula!! Will be praying the cease fire really happens!

Mits, so, so, so glad you are back! Can't tell you about the grandma stuff, but I know from this mom's perspective, don't know what I would have done without my parents, especially being a single parent! God blessed me and Andrew with them for sure!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Okay, going out for a while. Going to Bluestone Dam to hunt for eagles! I pray I see one or 10 or something. Never have so hopefully today will be the day!! Will let you know as soon as I get back!

paula eagleholic said...

Good afternoon, Eagle Land. Hope ya'll are out enjoying the day!

Mits, so glad to hear that Maggie is home! Hope all the test results go your way. We are all praying for her. It is quite possible you saw an eagle at your sons. There are a lot of eagles around there. You will find your role as Grandma (is that what she is going to be calling you?). Takes patience and time, what with all the other relatives around, but it will come. And you will enjoy it!

Geula stay safe. We are all hoping the cease fire will take place and stay in place.

Sharon, I hope you get to see your first eagle!

Floralgirl , where are you in Frederick on Saturdays?

Jo, I hope you get a glimpse of our babies.

Have a great day, BBL tonight!

MITS said...

THANK YOU, PAULA. Since I am home today, I'm ordering stuff for Maggie. I'm having soooo much fun!!

belle_wv said...

Mits what're you buyin for lil Maggie? If it is clothes, remember how quickly they grow! We're starving for more info - how long, weight, etc. Did she have hair or is she beautifully bald? If she has hair, what color?

I remember that soft sweet warm bundle in my arms - I miss it so much! Next time you hold her, concentrate on that gentle weight in your arms for me and give her an oh so gentle kiss of welcome to the world from one of her eagle buddy crowd.

belle_wv said...

Paula is your boy all ready to head to college? When does he leave? Bittersweet feeling for sure, I can imagine.

I have returned from Shepherdstown Market! Saw FloralGirl and got 2 bunches of the most beautiful flowers. Spent some time talking with her & intoduced her to my daughter Jennifer. We were talking about Hawk Mt. and then about the Eagle Train. Out of the blue a gentleman must have overheard us & said he saw lots and lots of eagles when he went canoing & camping up where the Eagle Train runs. I asked him what month & he said in the spring. That is probably the time when they all return to the area. So I am going to stop thinking about the Eagle Train until this spring. I will tell you more about my morning trip after I go to the previous page to read comment from Geula.
Some eagle crazy woman called me a few minutes ago from Bluestone Dam! She needed me to tell her the difference between an eagle & turkey bussard in flight... Now you know that is a legitimate question from one who has never seen an eagle in flight. I am not an Eagle Expert but I am convinced she was looking at an EAGLE !!! Holy Smollie......Sharon saw an Eagle!!! I just know she did.

glo said...

LOL .How cool is that I am happy to hear that crazy woman has seen an eagle soaring right above where she is.

HELLO EAGLE BUDDIES---I tried to get in a couple of times---then I went to the market---Read Sharon's mail--- & here I am---HOW HAPPY to have MITS back------but I am so jealous---Not only does she have a new beautiful granddaughter, she has her name in BLUE----WHOA--I am an expert on this Granny bit---First, Maggie w/decide what she wants to call you, with some coaxing---ho!---Also, it seems the mother's mother usually has a notch up---not always----But this is the a TOUCHY time---NO ONE KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT TO DO---You know Maggie looks exactly like your son----BUT----her mother knows she looks exactly like her mother did---so it goes---don't be pushy---just volunteer often----smile alot----that w/make your son happy---- do you all live close?-----First bath was a big deal for me---new moms are usually a little unsure about how this is done, etc.----Another good point---read an up-to-date baby book----(times have changed since you had a child)----I AM SO HAPPY, HAPPY FOR YOU MITS---you only have to do one thing for this little one----GIVE HER LOVE, LOVE & MORE LOVE----That's the easy part---"BLUE" MITS

GEULA-----We are praying----hopefully this bombing might stop tomorrow---Great to hear from you-----We w/pray that they will STOP---
Take care---we love you

belle_wv said...

Jo - I'm jealous - you got some of those pretty flowers. I really want to get down there to get some, too. Maybe on the 27th to get a special bunch or two to brighten up my classroom for the first day of school for the kids on the 28th... that sounds like a plan.

I bet you're right about Sharon's sighting. Hard for me to tell the difference when I see one or the other, but when both are in the air, the eagle looks so much more powerful and majestic, it is easy to see the difference. I bet with your descriptions of sightings, she can be sure she's seeing an eagle or 10 just like she'd hoped!

Norma, happy Sunday to you, Sharon is the pro at talking folks into turning blue (their name in the blog not holding their breath!) Ask her after she comes down from her eagle-high! Sounds like good grandparenting experience for Mits to follow. I know I was happy to have the help of both my mom and my mother in law when my kids were born.

Geula, we'll keep our prayers going for you and the ceasefire turning into long lasting peace! The thoughts of having to head to a safe room are so frightening!

movin said...

How you all this beautiful Sunday??

I slept in this morning, which I enjoyed, but now I'm running behind. It's such a beautiful day in So Cal though that I can't get too down on anything, or anyone...

Checked several nestcams and didn't see a single bird ... except Frieda was asleep on the job in the early morning Brisbane shade.

Keep warm..and dry..and out of the sun at noonday.

Jim

Mema Jo said...

I was so thankful to hear from Geula. I pray for the ceasefire to become a reality. Your right, Belle, when you mentioned the Safe Room - I pray for you Geula that you will not have to use the safe room much longer.
All the advice I hear being given to you Mits is from experience - and that is the best kind to have. You really need to just play it by ear and always be available & offer your help. Are your daughter-in-law's parents near by? Everyone is right about one thing - Let her steal your heart (I think Maggie already has) & give her lot & lots & lots of your love!

Mema Jo said...

Paula, Nilla,Vicky-Il,Norma and Belle I took Jennifer to the Clarion for lunch where we ate dinner the other evening.
ALL EAGLE BUDDIES
We decided to sit at an outside table. We walked out - I looked up - & IMMEDIATELY SAW 2 LARGE BIRDS WITH WINGS OUT STRAIGHT & SOME WHITE FEATHERS SHOWING ON THEIR STOMACHS CIRCLING ABOVE WITH A THIRD FARTHER UP IN THE SKY! We cranked our necks & at first Jennifer said, "I think the one has a white head." I about fell into their pond as I was backing up to see over the Hotel's roof where they were. There wasn't a white head - the sun just blinded us for a momment. I know it was the kids and nobody better try to tell me different!

Mema Jo said...

I did drive on over into NCTC to the nest. Nilla's guard was there & he said, 'no problem'. I took another pic of the MT nest & also one of the entrance to NCTC for all to see. I'll put it on the RedByrd lunch album. I am going to ask Paula to change the name of the album to NCTC TRIPS

I GOT AN EAGLE FIX !!

Jo I am jealous AGAIN - going to see the nest tree - that is such a peaceful, spirit filled place for me. Then the Clarion for lunch - YUM... and I know for sure that was our 'lets as they call them on the other blog. Glad you got a fix... I'll take mine vicariously through the fix you and Sharon have gotten today. Definitely worth a dip in the pond to get a good look at them...

MITS said...

Thanks for all the great advice. Maggies' other Grandmother lives 5 minutes from her, but I'm bigger, so if I gave her a hip shove, she would land 3 blocks away. The woman only weighs 95 lbs dripping wet. TeeHee!! Maggie weighed in at 5lbs 8oz, 18 inches long, light brown hair, feels like it might be curly like her Dad's. Of course she has blue eyes, like every baby and right now, quite a nice disposition. We shall see! Lots of great Eagle News. Can't wait to hear when Sharon gets back from her trip to the dam. Glad you didn't fall into the pond Jo!:):):) MAGGIE has already gotten huge (((HUGS))) from the Eagle Moms. Will have to take her to the tree when she is older, to show her where our eaglets were born in the same year she was born.

MAGGIE will be the 4th generation to wear the Kalis family Baptism gown. It was made in Poland with Polish lace. She will look gorgeous.

You best have a lot of pictures posted of that baby on her Christening day - I bet the gown is gorgeous. And of course we want pictures sooner, too, if the parents permit. I can imagine Mom might feel a bit funny about her newborn having pics posted on the net at first, best check with her first... I can recall I wasn't always 'rational' when it came to protecting my newborn at first LOL

EAGLE BUDDIES----Try this New River Gorge site http://www.nps.gov/neri/peregine/htperegine/htm----Fifteen of 16 young peregrine falcons released in the New River Gorge National River since May are flying & learning to hunt. The young falcons were removed from nests on urban bridges & other structures in coastal Virginia, where their chances of learning to fly & fending for themselves were deemed slim, because of having to learn to fly over large expanses of open water & near highway traffic. Hunting habitat also is becoming scarce for peregrins in that region. five of the falcons were taken from nests on moth-balled warships in the James River Reserve. The last bird to join the group released in NRG came from the Walt Whitman Bridge in Philadelphia, where it was injured before making its first successful flight, then rehabilitated.....Second group of eight falcons arrived in the Gorge shortly after the 1st group was released. Fed. wildlife officals decided to relocate the Va. peregrines & the injured bird from PA to the NRG since it provides prime habitate for the cliff-nesting bird-eating predators, whose population in costal VA is taxing the available habitat. They are doing this using hack boxes to introduce them to their new surroundings. (I have been quoting the Charleston Gazette)---Please go to the site & there are more details, describing how well they are adapting to the NRG Park----Also several beautiful photos of the little "fuzz balls" to the birds in flight----The NRGNP is beautiful----this is the area MITS went to when she was whitewater rafting-----

Okay, back from my eagle hunt. Not really sure if I saw an eagle or not though. Binoculars I had really sucked. I did see quite a few really big birds but couldn't make out white heads or tails! More will be revealed. I will be traveling back down there. I was sitting on the side of the road in a chair (sound familiar anyone?) up from the Bluestone River and my phone rang. It was work wanting to know if I could cover for somebody sick this evening. Explained to them where I was and that I was hunting for eagles, could very well type from there. I thought that was pretty funny.

We ate at McDonald's in Hinton, drove to the dam and watched a while from there, all I saw was a duck. Then we drove down the road and sat a while. It was such a beautiful day.

Mits is beautiful, hubby very handsome, son very good-looking, daughter-in-law very pretty but Maggie outshines them all!

This shorter url can be used to get to the article Norma has told us about. I couldn't get through on the other one.
I can't wait to see Frieda's 3 little fuzzy chicks. I forgot how funny they look until I looked at the article from River Gorge site.

Wow I like all the stories about eagle spottings and bird rehabilitations etc. So ggod to hear from Mits and more and more about maggie. Also good to hear from Nilla a couple of times and what a wonderful little trip she has been ontoday..next to eagles..give me deer!!! How absolutely gorgeous. No report yet from Sharon on her eagles escapades..hmmm. I ams ure she will be reporting back to us though. TTYL

NORMA She is already folowing in Spunky's talons. She is a spunkster. Mom was in labor all night, went to hospital, sent her home and went back 3 hours later and then they kept her. When it was time to push it only took 9 mins for MAGGIE to make her debut. SHARON, glad you had a nice day, thanks for the kind words.

Mema Jo said...

Deer are really plentiful - On Shepherd Grade Road in a wooded area, Jennifer counted about 8 in a group. Then this evening hubby & I driving to our son's in a residential area - I spotted a young deer in someone's driveway! When we got to my son's (wooded area) there were about 6 staring at us from the back of his home as we got out of the car.
Suzanne is famous for passing them very cautously on the road to work in her morning travels.
Jim says that a car horn will help them not run into your car. You really don't 'hit' deer, they 'hit' you!

I guess I did not appreciate how beautiful the falcons really are, until you see them up close and personal. Loved the West Virginia falcons.

Maybe we came make atrip and get some good deer pics for the album to Jo..

belle_wv said...

Sharon, sounds like a wonderful place to see eagles. Chairs are good, blankets are good too.

Nilla, sounds like you had a blast. Glad you had a good time. Did you take any pictures? Oh wait you didn't have binoculars, so probably didn't have a camera - who needs that stuff for an icecream cone?

NillaWafer said...

Jim is talking about California deer ..lol They stop and pose for photo's like celebrities..lol These WV deer most of the time all you see is the white of their tails..lol But the deer in NCTC area many are near housing developments and not afraid of people at all, even thou it is in the country.

Norma that was very interesting about relocating the falcons.
When Steven see only this little amount of posting he'll wonder what else were we up too.
Has anyone gotten in the site where the blue stuff teddy bear is Conn.?

movin said...

Hi, eagle spotters...

eagles vs. buzzards

First, eagles are much larger... where I grew up, we had buzzards and Red-tailed Hawks riding the thermals over our house almost every day, and when they're at altitude it is difficult to tell the difference from the wings (Red-tails and buzzards are more similar in size).

But keep one fact in mind, large hawks and eagles fly with their tails fanned out at all times; however buzzards never fan the tail out...so just check to see if the tail is straight back from the body (buzzard) or spread in the shape of a fan (eagle, large hawk)

I am jealous of you girls' sightings, but I wanted to tell you that even if some of the birds had white heads, if they are in Liberty-Belle's territory, which it sounds like they were, they have to be from the Shepherdstown eagle family..."NO TRESPASSING ALLOWED" in Eagleland.

Congratulations on sighting them...wish Todd or someone could get some camera shots.

Jim

Boy, that sounds like I know what I am talking about, don't it. Went to the frodocam site and pulled up about peregrine falcons. It told me the incubation period so I just guessed the date!! :)

What a beautiful family you have.

MITS said...

NILLA When are you going to the Doctors'?

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

My daddy loved to break wind at the meat counter and then wait for people to talk about the rotten meat. Men- what are we going to do with them. Andrew likes to snap 3 times and clap 8 times when he does it. If he knew I was putting this on here, he would probably kill me!!

NillaWafer said...

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Oh my god, Nilla, it is chihuahua, get with the spellchecker darlin'! LMAO!!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

It took a few years for me to learn not to do the "pull my finger" trick with Daddy. I was slow but I finally got there!

paula eagleholic said...

MY oldest son just lets it rip, anytime, anywhere. Used to try to blame it on the dog!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Oh, no, now we have resorted to talking about body functions. What is next?

Mema Jo said...

Thanks, Paula. I will add about 3 new ones to it from today.

MITS said...

SHARON Hope Andrew does not walk in on you. LOL! NILLA Congrats on you new baby. Is that his name? GOOD NIGHT AGAIN!. Oh, by the way, MAGGIE is a Redskin fan. My husband and I are Ravens fans and the other Grandparents are Buffalo Bill fans.

paula eagleholic said...

Then there are those SBD's. (Silent But Deadly ones). Those are the killers!

Someone earlier asked how many eggs...still 3

NillaWafer said...

<~~ REDSKIN fan since back in the early 60s..

MITS said...

Everything from A to Z, including flatuence on this blog. I love that word FLATUENCE

paula eagleholic said...

Looks like her eyes are closed? Anyone else noticed that?

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

WHERE IS SPUNKY, WHERE IS SPUNKY?

Can't help myself sometimes. Going to bed now, to watch a little TV. Think I might watch the 11 o'clock news. Haven't done that in about 2 months. Don't really even want to know what is happening out there though.

Where have our UK girls been? Where is Chrissy, where is D?

Did anybody ever hear anything from Angie?

Good night, my friends of fine feathers. Have a wonderful night and sweet eagle dreams!!

NillaWafer said...

paula eagleholic said...

Redskins fan here too, brought the boys up that way, also! Dressed them in skins gear since they were babies, now got it on the grandson!

MITS said...

My worst pet peeve is when someone gets the news paper before me and doesnt put it back in the right order Oh i hate that!!! Then throws it on the floor...

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Okay, no news watching for me, Skins are still on!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Nilla, here is one for ya - my niece gets my paper out of the box and takes it to my sister's. I would take it out of order and in the floor, if I could just get it! :)

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Didn't know the Skins were getting skinned by the Bengals. That sucks!!

NillaWafer said...

3 - 19 aint that a damn shame!!!

NillaWafer said...

Hmmm Sharon thats where a mouse trap might be handy..lol

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Sure is, better luck next time!

The Bluefield Beavers were playing in a playoff game against Weir High School a couple of years ago, losing 14-0 with 1:36 left on the clock. Intercepted a pass and ran in for a touchdown. Then they did an on-side kick, run in for another touchdown and tied the game. They won in double OT and went on to win the state championship. Miracles really do happen.

Cease fire supposed to start in 2 hours, guess I'll find out in the a.m. if it holds - I hope so!

paula eagleholic said...

She's off the eggs.

belle_wv said...

Mits - LOVELY famiily. That Annie frosts me though - she looks so pretty and perky and ready to go out in public - and she just gave BIRTH - how do some women do that? I only had 12 hrs of labor with my daughter and way less than that with my son, a couple pushes and they were out - no big deal, but I looked like a train wreck. Well I guess I always do, now that I think about it...

Maggie is adorable! You and your husband must be so thrilled. Though in the pic Grampa Jay looks a bit nervous about that little bundle! LOL

Don't even get me started about the flatulence 'thang' - my house - omg - it can be quite the smell zone at times - dog, son and husband - of course NEVER me !

Pet Peeves... hmmm bumping your teeth on silverware when you're eating - that clicking noise just goes right through me - not sure why LOL

paula eagleholic said...

She's on the eggs, man is she quick...

Good nite!

NillaWafer said...

belle_wv said...

Good Morning Suzane - for real! I'm here for a moment at least. How was the trip to the zoo? Did the camera work out for you? I sure hope so since I was so 'pushy' about my camera type.
I'm very happy you got out this weekend. All work and no play makes Suzanne an unhappy gal.

Surgery is Wednesday - thanks for asking. It is outpatient, so should be home that afternoon.

Have a great day everyone. {{{hugs}}}}}

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Good morning everybody. I hope everybody makes a good day.

Don't forget to do random acts of kindness. Rewards are great!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Thanks Suzanne. Great to be back. Have to start back to work tomorrow.

glo said...

Good morning all. .Suzanne Did you check your email yet. Did you get your stuff from cafe press? If not i sent you some info you can use today I think. Hope everyone has a great start to the morning. Maggie is prescious

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Suzanne, my week was great! Nothing major happened except my precious little baby boy dumped a while tub of cold water over my head while I was trying to get them to let a freshman out of the cold shower. Then 1 girl flipped me the bird because I was getting her to go clean the bathroom for the third time. If at first you don't succeed, try, try again!! The band learned the show wonderfully well and performed it for the parents Friday evening at 5, then we came home. Sad for the seniors since it was their last band camp.

MITS said...

GOOD MORNING MY FRIENDS Hope you all have a peaceful day. SHARON, To bad you didn't break that little snots finger. How rude! Going to try to get house in order today and go to store, no food in house.

Thought about waiting to post this on the new blog but never know for sure if there will be one.

My son's dog Lady (bug) now has a residency at Rainbow Bridge If you have a minute to stop by to meet Lady and sign the guest book and or send off an ecard from the site, I know it would mean a lot to him, and to me, since this is really the only thing I can do to help him through this time of loss He wrote his Tribute out for her on sat. night and I have opened the Residency as of yesterday. Tonight Tom, myslef and his sister (Elia's Mom) will meet with the others in a room for their Candle light Ceremony.

They do a nice job of helping people who have loved a pet as a member of the family deal with the loss. They donate a part of their proceeds to a local Shelter. Have met some very nice but also pretty sad people in there over the past week.

Anyway thanks for your visit and time, here is the link
