Thanks Steven, as yuou can see we have away of amusing ourselves with lots of different subjects.. I know i am kind of late getting on here today..Tryed to do afew things today like wash bed clothes and dishes,, Then son came by and i fixed him something to eat.. Honestly not feeling up to par today, i havent needed those NicoDerm because i have been fighting the urges and can say although its been hard i havent been reduced to tears yet for a cigarette..lol I am going to lay down awhile just think the new meds are making me weak n dizzy.. I agree that the stairs should be preserved - a wonderful testimony to the endurance and perseverence of those that did survive, and a lesson to those for the future that sometimes the best way out isn't up in one of those buildings.
Nurse Ratchit doesn't mind you fixin a bite of something for your grandboy, but the other stuff needs to wait.... I'm thrilled you're doing so well with the no smoking.... still looking for the proper molds to make you some 'lolly'pops...

I use a wireless internet, breezelink - kind of like satellite, but not exactly
get cable like speed though, so it is pretty good for where we live - can't get dsl or cable here and dial up gets us about 14.4 if we're lucky - no way I could live with that

mits once you get to site how do you get to see swallows and fox?
I love watching those swallows - the one on the far end keeps trying to nose his way in to be closest to the wall (and least likely to get pushed out), but the other three won't budge when he starts nudging them - reminds me of the song - there were 4 in the nest and the little one said - roll over... roll over...
Anon click the web cam on the left hand side of the page.. Only 1 fox remains and did someone move the camera or am i seeing things its moved back abit..
If you go to the upper left and click on webcams - it gives you lots to choose from. I can't say which is which, but the two denbury farms ones (upper row right side) seem to alternate between the swallow nest, the badger/quail feeding area and I think at one point there were even some hanging feeders on the cam - not sure if it rotates on a schedule or what? Or if it is the drugs confusing me
Belle you want to see Swollows at work under the porch out front all along there are many swollow nest.. In years past i have watched 2 familys each year but this year the nest nearest the store was torn down.. I know Gary from Karate said he found like 4 had fallen out of the nest nearest his store.. Down at the Dollar Store parents attack people all the time..lol

Well I am back. Didn't report I was even leaving so you all didn't know. Me and Andrew watched Two for the Money (Hunky and love Matthew McConaughey and the ever lovely Al Pacino - I so love them both). Then brat boy took over my computer for a while. Then I laid down to take a little nap (still feeling kind of yucky - coughing a lot today). Then I got up and cooked supper and now I am back.
Mommy and 3 baby cardinals on my roof. Don't think they are all from the same clutch though.
W/B sniffles.. I am about to go lay down afew i know i said that earlier... Sniffles go to www.parade.com and please vote to save the stairs.. I think they should be saved and some kind of glass enclosure built over them and left as is not being cleaning in any way.. BBL Glo have a nice time at your ballet tonight..

Nilla Yes A week and a half or soa go I did work myself into a pretty good migraine...thatis when my son lost his dog. I don't think I do well with stress anymore, or at least carrying around lots of overwhelming kinds of emotions. So this culd be a delayed reaction to yesterdays computer fiasco...I was pretty frustrated and disappointed BUT also, I spend a lot of time infront of a computer screen and it does seem to bother my eyes quite a lot more than it used to, might be time to upgrade the glasses prescription, and I have to wear a hat to the ballet tonight because I left the hair color on too long yesterday and well, I could go incognito and no one would recognize me LOL. I don't know, but it does feel crummy enough. off to the ballet anyway. Been looking forward to it, and not going to disappoint my friend.

Sniffles When i get feeling better i am driving down there and throwing your cigs in the trash... I gave almost awhole pack to my nurses and they cheered n gave me big hugsss.. We can do this together if you want... That $3.98 i spent every few days is being saved now for my trip across country..
NILLA I wish it were that easy, but the cost of keeping the pandas is getting huge. And between 9-11 and Hurricane Katrina, people are getting tapped out for all kind of human causes, that they will give to before any animal causes. As much as enjoy watching all the animals at the zoo, I have not contributed, because of some of the things the zoo has done in the past. They have not always been real careful with all the animals. Its a good thing they have some big corporate sponsers.
LOL!!!, NILLA The nurses were probably happy because they needed them for their smoke-break. Some of the biggest smokers and drinkers are people who work in the health profession, like the CCU and ICU, because it is a way to relieve their stress

Sharon, I agree with Nilla, this is the perfect time for you to start saving some money, and making your son proud of you.... he'd be so happy to have you quit smoking so you're strong and healthy for his wedding and when grandkids start arriving for you... time to QUIT, babe. We'll be your support network, promise. You've proven you can take a big leap and do what is healthy for your body before... cigs are as bad or worse for you than the weight you had before - just doesn't show on the outside. Even Nilla's doc said gaining weight was easier on the bod than the cigs she was smoking....Liberty and Belle need you to watch their nest with your eagle eye for many years to come...

AMEN Nilla! I think the sightings y'all have had farther and farther from the nest have helped me to rest assured that Liberty and Belle taught their babies well and that they will thrive and soar and continue to feel our love and support strengthening them for many years and broods of their own. They've been such a huge part of my life that they will always be in my thoughts and prayers.
A step toward better health for each of us Ok so since nilla is quitting smoking, and Sharon is being encouraged to make a similar change, .Why don't we all think of something to change starting tomorrow 6 am. That will also improve each of our own health in a more positive way, and share it on here with everyone. We can be our own support group for whatever it is someone wants to .Stop doing or start doing

Actually, Mits, it is a 36 day incubation and the first egg was laid August 2, so it is probably more like September 7.

I have had a very relaxing Sunday - but I haven't been here since lunch.
Read everything - I will start to exercise this week so I can be a Ship Shaped Momster. Can't promise much else at this time.
As far as the quitting smoking is concerned, it ain't going to happen until I am ready, ain't ready yet. I know it is unhealthy and nasty and all of that, but that surrender just hasn't come yet. I know how hard it is. I quit for 6 1/2 years but wanted 1 at least once every day. Andrew fusses about it all the time and I don't blame him. My day of surrender wil come one day, I pray!

Hey, Everybody,
I sent at least a dozen shots of the Blackwater parent Ospreys... mostly the Pop...in to the Cam site, so they should appear soon.
I just checked in at the site, there wasn't anybody there, so I was about to close it; when in flies Pops! [That was about a quarter to seven] Not too long after that Moms shows up for a while and then leaves.
Pops hung around, standing in the middle of the nest most of the time, watching and listening in every direction until 8:03, and then he was gone between pic refreshes.
I bet they were making last minute checks to see if any juveniles are still around, before they start their own migration. Anyway, he was very patient and thorough... don't know if he heard or saw any juveniles, but none of them showed up at the nest.

I smoked for close to 4 decades... close to 2 packs a day for a lot of years...and I definitely had dropped the idea of quitting.
But the heart Specialist kept harping at me about making it worse faster than he could cure it, so I finally resorted to the 'patch' and did it.
If it hadn't been for the Doctor though, I would still be smoking.. or beyond worrying about it.
I'm not the one to lecture you, but you might think about minimizing the damage while you are still young.
Whoever does quit the smokes, remember: it's the "it's only one, it probably won't hurt anything," or something like that thought, that will put you right back on the habit every time.

Jim - thank you for sharing your story, you sure did smoke a lot, so you must feel so much healthier now! Good for you to make that choice each moment of each day to NOT smoke :) I just thank GOD sincerely that I never took up the habit. I lived in a house FULL of second hand smoke, so my lungs were just as bad as if I had smoked for a long while...
Sharon, no one can do it for you, and when you're ready it WILL happen, we're just trying to give you more incentive to be ready - our love and support are yours whether you smoke or not. {{{{{HUGS}}}}
My 'be healthier' journey has already begun Glo, I didn't back out of the surgery, though I had many reasons to, and I bought a recumbent exercise bike, which I was up to riding at least 15 solid minutes at a good clip a couple times a day... I won't be able to start it back up in the morning like I want to, but hopefully Dr. will say I can start again when I see him Tuesday - only been doing it for a week or so and I miss it already. My goal is to lose 50lbs. and KEEP it off for good. I wanna be a Gramma that can roll around on the ground and play and chase with her grandbabies! How's that for a goal? Y'all got my back?

I hear you about the magazines Mits! I had to give up my subscriptions when I started back to work - wouldn't throw them away, but no way had time to read them. I'm hoping to be able to start up a couple again now that I've finished my Master's - oh man does that feel wonderful to type! Will get some from the kids for their band fund raisers this winter. Sharon's comment about being happy we incubate ours on the inside is so RIGHT! I'm going 'stir crazy' not being able to bend over and do some of the things I want to do for just the last few days - I canNOT imagine having to be still on that nest 24/7 for a MONTH or more! Yikes especially when your normal existence is SOARING so freely

I for got to tell you all but the other day when all the police n cars were going by it was for the funeral of Staff Sgt. Stephen Seale who was killed by a roadside bomb on Aug6th in Iraq.. He was 25 yrs old and leaves a 3 year old daughter.. I remember him as a small child as Dawn had a day care and we watched him.. Sad

Back from the Ballet/Opera. its was really great. The first half was The 3 Little Pigs. cast of about 40 people from like 6 yrs through adult. The second half was older high school ealry college, dancing, really very beautiufl and quite unique. Then stopped for ice cream on the way home.
OH I am so-o-o-o- glad we stopped before midnight BECAUSE
To take a step toward health I am going to drink at least 3 more glasses of water a day more than I currently do, And eat ONLY 1 sweet, and do a minimum of 20 min exercise. That's it...my step toward health.

Glo - glad you had a good time - I knew there was an eaglet still out and about that was keeping me from closing the blog winder... how's your head and your hair? It is amazing to see the talent those kids have, especially the high school kids who've danced since they were toddlers - just inspiring to watch their beauty and dedication on the stage

Glo a lil tip if you left the dye on to long it might be like straw ok so get a real good hair oil put it in hair and a plastic clear shower cap for 1/2 hour or more.. Neutrogena has a real good hair nutrient for dry hair... Hope you headach is better and start exercising slowly...
