Last checkin for the night

MEMA JO, JUDYE, (and anyone I forgot !) THANKS I was proud of me too for driving the RV. I don’t know how to tow anything…..but hopefully that won’t come up anytime soon! I could probably go forward….but reverse???? Eh, not so much.

YES! A NO KINK hose. It is waaaaay longer than I thought it would be, BUT the great news is that it makes it all the way around my front yard to water any and everything that would like a drink. I also invested in some new nozzles as we have to replace those almost every year as well. We had one left from last year and it already had teeth marks in it (uh hem, the heelers).

STRONGHUNTER: yeah, those collapsible hoses don’t look too sturdy to me. I need tough stuff. I haul that thing all around the yard .
JUDIE! Didn’t know you grew up in VA Beach. I’ve spent quite a few years there!!! Still visit every couple years as you may know to see my gal pals. As I remember jellyfish come in mostly in June. And ewwwwwwwwwwww. I agree a shark bite would be much worse.

LYNNE2: hope you get some good solid news soon…………..

Hope everyone has pleasant sleep tonight. Sweet dreams all!

Coming on to say my good nights

Shirley- happy to hear you received your passport! Sorry about the wasps.

Judie - have a good morning appointment.

Goodnight to all ♥

speaking of attacks on beach well not really a attack but a young boy the barb right through his heal STING ray got him he didn't do the shuffle in the water that is another reason I don't like the beach Sharks, Stingrays and jelly fish YUK

74° at the nest I hear a eaglet but don't see one

Good morning,

Goodness me, tropical storm in Texas. More rain.

I see an empty, messy nest at the Sycamore Palace.

stronghunter said...

Never did try to drive our RV, Janet. Good for you!

Sandi said...

Goodorming my eagle friends.

Lolly, I hope all of your hard work in the yard doesn't get washed away with this new storm coming. Your photos of your yard in bloom in the summer are always so beautiful! Is Laurel still playing camp cook?

Lynne, how upsetting - it would be nice if your landlord would think of you and Steve and not just herself and clue you in to what "major changes" means. It sounds like this is a stressful time for her but still, a little consideration of how all of this will impact you would be nice.

Jo, hope you're feeling better today - prayers for you, today and every day.

Tennis yesterday was good fun, I can feel my stamina returning after not playing for 2 months. But boy, was it ever hot and sticky! Spent the rest of the day running errands, fertilizing all of the annuals in pots, and doing some reading of my first summer book - The Girl on the Train. So far, I would recommend it - very interesting plot.

Have agreat day all.

Good morning! I'm all about the Rise and Shine today!

Shirley, imagine how confused WE are!! Not a whole lot making sense around here!

Will be saying prayers for Texas today....just watched the forecast. Looks ominous.

Must scurry off to work......

Judie said...

Good morning.

One eaglet plopped in the nest.

Hope the folks in TX are safe from damage and personal injury or worse. Detective friend in Houston has already packed her "go" bag if she has to evacuate to her station.

Hoping all the best news for Lynne2. Must be dreadful to be in suspense.

Already steamy hot here. About to head out for early morning dental.

Wishing everyone a wonderful day.

Mema Jo said...

Good morning to all ♥ I think it is a great day for a fresh new thread.
One eaglet sitting up at the noon position. I'm not sure I can find Ducky in all that nest mess. No plans for the day - keeping all our TX friends in prayers from that storm.

Sandi said...

Hey Jo, send that rain in a southeasterly direction please - we need cooling off! Temp outside is 94 degrees but it feels like 99!! Just not right for the middle of June!

Have been watering wilty hydrangeas. My thoughts on non-kinking hoses ... sometimes they LIE!!! We have 2 hoses - neither one cheap and both said "No kink." Only one manufacturer was telling the truth! The other is the most annoying hose I have ever owned - I curse every time I use it b/c it kinks constantly!!!

Judy, "The Girl on the Train" is a suspense story. Keeps you guessing.

Time to fix food for people and pets. Then maybe grocery shopping if the rains don't come. Later.

HI! (waving at everyone!) how's everyone?

not a lot going on. hot hot hot. work work work. took livvy to hoop class. now home. oldest daughter having bday on Thursday ... going out to dinner tonight to celebrate.

found this recipe....looks decadent. may have to try it!
Oatmeal Creme Pie Ice Cream Cake
Ingredients:
1 cup granulated sugar
1 1/2 cups half & half
4 large egg yolks
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
14 Oatmeal Creme Pies
whipped cream, optional
Directions:
In a large saucepan over medium heat, stir together the sugar and half-and-half.

When the mixture begins to simmer, remove 1/2 cup of liquid and place in a bowl. Quickly whisk in the egg yolks and then pour the egg mixture back into the saucepan, whisking constantly. Stir in the heavy cream.

Continue cooking over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture is thick enough to coat the back of a metal spoon. Remove from heat, and whisk in vanilla and cinnamon. Set aside to cool.

Pour cooled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn until it's soft serve texture.

Line a 9x13 loaf pan with wax paper. Place a layer of the oatmeal creme pies in the bottom of the wax paper lined loaf pan. I did one whole cookie on one side a half a cookie on the other - so each layer had 4.5 cookies.

Spread about one third of the ice cream over the cookies. Repeat sequence twice more until you've built 3 layers of each.

Gently press a layer of wax paper over ice cream cake to seal. Cover with plastic wrap and place in freezer until firm, about 2 hours.

Optional: When ready to serve, top with layer of whipped cream, and crumbled oatmeal creme pies.

Hot, hot, hot here. Our "feels like" temp today is 104.

I have been busy cleaning out my closet, but the heat is getting to me even with the AC on.

Hi all! We have already had some rain from the storm and it has not even reached here yet. Oh, well, we know the house is safe. It will just mean more work in the yard! Feel sorry for folks that have flooding in their homes! Did go to work this morning in the garden at church. It needed much work so sprinkles did not bother me. Any rain will make it impossible to work there. Sigh.....

Need to go prepare dinner and then have a TCU baseball game to watch!

Thank you Jo for the ostrich updates.

Been a long day. Tired. Sandperson agreed to pack and leave early.

Restful sleep for all.

I am expecting guests this summer, Judie. Wouldn't usually clean closets in anticipation of guests, but I need to get things organized and now I have an incentive.

Sounds like we might get some of your leftover rain, Lolly. Actually, we could use a little. Almost afraid to say that.

stronghunter said...

Will try to make it to the end of the game, but I am yawning big time.

Going to have to get back outdoors soon and replant my lettuce and spinach. I didn't water the baby plants, and now I need to put in some more seeds. Hunter likes to gather the fresh lettuce leaves for BLTs in the summer. I have only a couple of lettuce plants at this point, ones that volunteered.

I'm going to say good night while I can still type. Getting very sleepy. SED, everyone.

LOL looking at the nest I see a stick that is in the form of a running man lol probably won't be there because of the children will move it when they get in the nest Lets see if anyone else can see it

and I notice SANDI is no longer a early bird

Goodorming my eagle friends.

Judy, I'd still consider 6:30am early, wouldn't you? But now that the alwarm doesn't go off at 5:30 but the dogs are still waking up at that time, I'm retraining them to be OK with getting up and fed at 6:30 when the alarm goes off for Denny.

We never got any rain last night but boy has the air outside changed - cooler and dryer. Temps are supposed to stay in the 70s today - we may even be able to turn the AC off and open the house up.

Tennis for me at 8am, then the first of several trips to the dermatologist. It turns out that 4 of the 5 spots he biopsied are suspicious. Two will require stitches so that's what I'll be going for today. Two weeks from now, when the first set of stitches come out on my left thigh, I'll get some more on my right hip. Then, when I go back to have those stitches removed, I'll get the 2 spots on my forehead taken care of - one will be burned off and the other will be removed with liquid nitrogen. It is what it is - no big deal since I go regularly and things are caught early.

Have agreat day all.

Judie said...

Good morning.

Sunshine and calm outside. Hope the prediction for cooler less humid weather is accurate.

Headed to get my "do" did this morning.

Nest MT when I checked.

Wishing everyone a most wonderful day.

Good Wednesday morning to all ♥
Just put peanuts out for the squirrels and WOW! it is a good weather morning out there
I still can't make this flock of crows aka blackbirds realize they aren't really welcome

Sandi - as long as you are on top of things - you will be A ok

Has anyone seen any action in the nest this morning? Reports coming in that not even a wingtip has been spotted. We may have another first flight - Sure wish we could
get a ground report from NCTC. I best check their Eagle notes

I think I'm caught up on Momster doings. No need for me to comment on every detail, but please know I read your posts with interest! So happy for the nest reports as well!

I had a couple of wonderful days with my "old" friend and her daughter, capped off with a mother-daughter dinner and gabfest last night---me, Julie, Marty and her dear Sheree! Thanks for all good wishes on that score!

SANDI, so glad you and your dermatologist are taking care of those suspicious spots diligently. Living in AZ for so much of my life I saw some very sad cases of skin cancers due to excessive sun exposure.

Now to tackle some bill paying and a lot of neglected e-mail....

Prayers for all in need!!!

Good morning from Mudville! Bill has made his presence known. Approx 4 inches of rain so far, small branches down from the wind, mud on the bricks and sidewalk once again. I expect to see alligators soon! Nothing to do but wait it out, the. Wait two weeks for the water to go down and then make repairs. Good news.....do not have to run the sprinkler system! 😜

Going to get my do done today! Might as well look beautiful since I can not get mucky!😜

Later......!
