Hmmmm, seems I am home alone. Well, this is the conversation I am having with myself...

Lolly, perhaps alligators are not a good idea. Zoo wedding sounds very different. How's Jacob?

Shar, sorry Andrew did not get the position he wanted but something better will come along.

JudyE, hope Jordyn continues with gymnastics. Amazing sport and one of my favorites to watch.

Sandi, it is indeed Friday. Enjoy the weekend and hope you get some restorative rest.

What? Oh, yes, I am hogging the conversation. Okay, I'll just come back later. I'll pull the door closed as I leave. Bye

LOLLY, I remember your telling us about the very special couple who'll be saying their vows at the zoo. Do enjoy! I look forward to hearing all about it.

SHAR, I share the sentiments others have expressed---there are good things in store for your dear and talented son! Is his wife teaching as well? How is her mother doing--prayers continue.

SANDI, TGIF indeed and who celebrates that more than a teacher? ☺ Hope the news of Olivia Katherine and Meridith is all good. Still sending Lynnis and family positive thoughts! So, is it Kevin who is celebrating a birthday this month and is he still on the road with "that" woman? Inquiring minds.....

It's raining in Central Ohio and due to turn much cooler as the day goes on. No lightning n' thunder and for that I'm grateful!

Good morning all.

The weatherman says this may be our last warmish day. We are due Kay's forecast later today and jacket weather by tomorrow. I do hope for decent weather the 17-18th. This granny doesn't relish turnpike driving in the rain.

Thinking positive thoughts for all today.

THANKS STEVE FOR THE THREAD and THANKS JUDIE for the call over.

Busy day. Weather is cooling off. Outlying areas anticipating frost tomorrow night. A far cry from the 90 we had yesterday! It is pleasant and breezy right now. Cloudy, but rode with the top down on the way home.

Making curry chicken tonight. Have to do a bit of studying with the kid in a bit, she wasn't the most cooperative thisweek at points so we didn't accomplish a few things, we shall have some school time today, much to her dismay.

Later ya'll

sooooo have a mystery upon my hands....hmmmm.....see what YOU think.

so typically, Olivia takes for-flipping- ever to do her usual 2 loads of laundry a week. all day, forever.

Friday is her laundry day.

normally when I get home, she is not done.

she slept til noon today- by her own and tom's admission.

I got home @ 2:40.

her laundry was done. not a sign of it ... anywhere.????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

I checked the washer...and I leave the door and the detergent compartment open so they dry out. they were in the EXACT position I used them in last....

and the setting was on the exact setting I use...not her usual.

I poked around in her room...

no sign of dirty laundry.

inquiring minds want to know...

grannyblt said...

Janet, maybe she hid it in the dryer.

JudyEddy said...

LOOK under the bed JANET

maybe she smelled it and didn't smell dirty so she put back in drawers and closet LOL

ARE YOU GONNA ASK HER??

Janet said...

dyer is empty.
the bed is a loft bed, so under it is wide open.
I DID ask her....and she promises she only had 1 load of laundry and she did it..... said she learned her lesson about hiding laundry.... hmmmmmm

still not sure, but...keeping my eyes open..... and my nose too.

Howdee! Beautiful day here. 56 this morning, not sure of the high temp but it was so nice. Presently 70 and going down into the low 50s tonight.

We worked outside all day! Loved it! After mowing, Jack burned and then we worked on the slight hill side on the south end of the yard. It is covered with English Ivy and another ground cover which we are removing. It is looking better! Going to make some major changes in that area.

Jacob is great, mending just fine. thank you! Laurel teaches in a basement, had no idea it was raining yesterday. They got close to an inch and a half. Jacob walks to her school, when he walked into her room he was soaking wet!!! Silly boy walked in a down pour to her school.

Tomorrow we head to Denton for soccer and then the wedding tomorrow evening. Did my toesies tonight and next the fingers.
Girls gotta do what a girls gotta do.
Gotta have pretty toesies!

Checking in to say good night.

Hunter has a friend sleeping over tonight. One of the boys on his football team. We had to wash their football stuff, as they had practice tonight and a game tomorrow. His friend suggested that they should just sleep in their football pants, but then he agreed with me that the coach might not approve if they showed up on game day in dirty pants.

Glad Jacob is healing nicely.

Evita was okay. Many scenes were like a Greek chorus. For the first time in over 30 years, I went to an usher and explained that the woman portraying Evita could not be understood and the sign board was angled such that we could not see the words. Very talented actors/dancers/singers but a disappointment.

Okay, off to find my pillows.

Restful sleep.

good morning to all.

it would appear that she did indeed do her laundry. just so very different.

UNI loads are okay here as she really doesn't have any delicates, etc. but she has had this habit (and I've tried to explain to her trying something on,then deciding moments later that I don't want to wear this) of throwing clean items in the laundry.

maybe she finally figured it out?

idk. I just will keep my nose and eyes open.

work 8 to noon today. off tomorrow and Monday.

hope everyone has a lovely Saturday and hopeful that most of you are still snoozing! :) have a great day!

Sandi said...

Goodorming my eagle friends, including our ever absent one, Dana! Actually, we have several "ever absents" lately - Lynne, Margy, Wanda to name a few.

Shirley, what's the latest on Anthony? Is he back in school? Is Hunter back to riding the bus?

Janet, how is Sable doing?

Gray and rainy is in the forecast for the whole day today and then a cold front is supposed to come through. The leaves are starting to turn. I'm ready for cooler weather and putting the summer clothes away.

My BFF at school didn't show up on Thursday morning. No lesson plans left and she didn't call until close to the start of the school day, so it took an hour and a half to find a sub and for her to arrive. In the meantime, yours truly had to get everything together for the sub and then teach the class until the sub arrived. When Kim texted the principal to say she wasn't coming to school, he texted back that he expected to see her at parent conferences from 5:30 - 8pm but she didn't show up for that event either. I told the rest of the team Thursday evening that there was no way she would be in on Friday and give up the chance for a 4-day weekend. Sure enough, she called out again yesterday. Again, no lesson plans, but the sub made it in to school much faster. My day is actually more enjoyable when she isn't there, but it's still an inconvenience having to scramble around first thing in the morning to get her day laid out and ready.

Lynnis's grandmother was cremated and the family decided not to have any kind of funeral service, either at a church or a funeral home. They are having an "open house" from Friday through Sunday - Denny and I are not driving 3 hours each way to stop in. Denny is feeling guilty b/c Lynnis's mom and dad came to my mom's funeral. I am not feeling guilty at all - I don't happen to believe that, if someone attends a funeral for someone else, they expect you to "return the favor." I told Denny he could go if he is feeling guilty, I'm fine with that. I'm also fine with not going myself and sending a card.

Have agreat day all. Prayers for everyone's needs, especially our Jo!

stronghunter said...

Good morning,

Things are lively here this morning. Football players have to be there by 9:15, but the game isn't until 10:30. I will let Kathryn and the boys go early and just get there for the game as the field is not far away.

Sandi, we do not know anything more about Anthony. I am still taking Hunter to school and picking him up. The gift I sent Anthony seems to have been accepted.

stronghunter said...

Oh my, Sandi, your BFF seems to be digging a deeper hole for herself. I remember a young teacher at my school who would take advice from no one about attendance, dress code, or anything else. She only lasted a short time, not long enough to get tenure, as I recall.

Sandi said...

Shirley, my BFF already has tenure. But Selbyville Middle is her 4th school in the past 8 years. My theory is that, by her 2nd year in a building, the administration is wise to her and starts building a case against her, so she transfers to another building where the process starts all over again. This is my big gripe with teacher's unions - they protect lousy teachers rather than allowing principals to fire them. The good news is, if my theory is correct, she'll transfer at the end of this year! :)

stronghunter said...

Sorry the play was disappointing, Judie.

I'm guessing that Jufie did not find Olivia's clothes. Just hope that Olivia can find what she needs when she wants them.

All of this reminds me of the male teacher I knew some years ago who seemed horrified that the father of one of our 8th grade boys expected their son to do his own laundry. I didn't tell him that I expected the same thing of my own kids.

stronghunter said...
This comment has been removed by the author.
stronghunter said...

I would think this woman would run out of options soon, Sandi. I do not know what happened to the young teacher at my school. I hope she found employment outside of the education field.

Regarding unions, I have mixed feelings. I don't think any teacher groups in Virginia are called unions. They are "associations," and I think they operate differently. I am not well-informed on what happens in Delaware.

stronghunter said...

My delete. I had to get rid of a confusing grammar error.

stronghunter said...

I see some football pads on the coffee table. Guess I need to let Kathryn know as she and the boys have left for the game. Looks like I might be delivering the pads in a bit.

Hoda said...

Good Morning.
I like "teacher's unions" over here we call them "professional associations". They are set up for due process to take place and for people to get the help they need when they need it.
Some pretty abusive administrators within the system. I speak from experience!!!

All is well here.
Wanting to ride my bicycle, so will have to see which friends want to do the same...

Enjoy the day.
In two weeks the reunion will happen!
Yay

stronghunter said...

I hear what you are saying about administrator abuse, Hoda. I was thinking about the same thing. My teaching experience was in Ohio and Virginia. The associations did not operate the same way in the two states.

Schools can be very political.

stronghunter said...

In Ohio, we had to negotiate with the school board for salary schedules, etc. The school board got annoyed with the teacher in charge of the negotiations and simply fired him. Then the president and vice-president of the association resigned and went elsewhere. As secretary, I was suddenly in charge of things and ended up signing the agreement we finally reached. It was quite educational. One of the men teachers thought that I was the appropriate person to be in this position because I was a married woman and was in a better position to survive if I had gotten fired too. The treasurer was a divorced woman, so I was told that she couldn't take a chance on getting fired.

First thing I did when school started was to have an election so that they could elect a president and vice president.

The fired teacher got a job at Ohio State University, thank goodness.

Mema Jo said...

Good morning to all of my friends ♥

Lots of educational theories and practices being discussed. I do believe that if the teacher/administrator isn't there for the sake of educating the kids - then out the door to a different profession. But - it doesn't always work that way. Hang in there Sandi ♥

Hoda - hope you find someone to take that bicycle ride with you - it should be beautiful in Nelson. Our mountains are so colorful now.

Good Afternoon Eagle Buds!!!

Interesting "teacher talk" today. I have so many teachers/profs in my family, past, present and future. I've heard many interesting and often puzzling stories about life in academia. I love you teachers and do so appreciate what you go through for the good of students!!!

JANET, so Olivia came through with a nice clean load of laundry! Can't blame you for being skeptical, but she's growing up! How nice!

SHIRLEY, sorry Hunter's team lost today, but I'm sure the boys learn some valuable things with every game, win or lose. Hope he can soon see Anthony and that both young men can begin to relegate an unfortunate accident to the past.

JO, tis' the season for many Charity Runs/Bike Rides here, too. Fall weather is wonderful for those!

45° here in Clintonville right now and not destined to climb much higher. Good temp for dog walking!

good afternoon....let's see...well KAY, it does SEEM as if Olivia did her laundry. If not...well....

SANDI: Sable is stable for the time being. I have noticed she is standing with wider rear leg stance, as if to keep her balance a bit better. Her apatite is healthy and she enjoys her breakfast, dinner and snacks. Still getting thinner though. :(
Am taking her in Monday for blood work and a nail trim. Had an apt last week, but felt yucky due to the cold, so canceled it.Thank you for asking.

Its been a good day. Worked my 8 to 2 and came home. Went down to this new little Mexican place around the corner. Had a dish I had never heard of and she couldn't exactly describe it to me, so brought me a sample...it tasted great, good spices, but the texture..well Let's say I struggled to swallow. Found out, it was the lining of a cow's stomach....odd texture.

I settled with tacos.

Steak tacos.

We went to the good will. Everything is half price there on the first Sat of the month. Got Livvy to pick out a few long sleeve shirts for herself and found a pair of jeans. I found a few shirts. Its been a couple years since I bought any shirts as such.

Then over to Publix to pick up meds.

I have in my mind of making breakfast rolls . I want to make a yeast dough, with orange flavoring. Then I plan to roll them out, like I am going to make cinnamon rolls, but instead on the inside, put almond paste, then roll up, slice, rise and bake. Over the top, an orange icing with roasted almonds.

Sounds good in theory. Will let you know how this turns out. My mind says it will be amazing. We shall see.

Quiet night here. Livvy is supposed to go to a "haunted" house with Michael. brother and sister things. I am making a quick dinner tonight; sub sandwiches.

All righty, I've yakity yaked enough.

HUGS

Soccer story......After the game both teams line up and. Go down the line slapping hands and saying good game! The oppositions coach led the line Joseph was first in line and Joseph held up his hand to high five and the coach shoved Joseph's hand hard into Joseph's chest. He also did it to the second player. Apparently he second thought his actions and to the ref blamed Joseph and the other player of grabbing his hand.??? The ref talked with Joseph's coach and the boys denied it. And, the other players father and uncle witnessed it. They were angry! So, the other coach was written up by the ref. Joseph's coach also knew the wrong boys were accused as Joseph is a rule follower and does not have a temper. In fact, he cried when alone with us. He did not know how to deal with an adult accusing him of something! During the game the ref warned some boys on the other team to watch their talk. With a coach like they have, no wonder they bad talk!

Joseph will be the better person and personally I would want to give that coach a good swift kick! So happy other adults showed Joseph that he
was not in the wrong.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CAROLYN/JEWELS!!!
Hope you're having a spectacular day!

Shar, I'm so sorry to hear that Andrew didn't get the job! I'm sure a better one will come along soon, though. Prayers!

Shirley, I hope that Hunter and Anthony can get together soon. I do so hope that the accident won't end their friendship!

Today Ken & I went to the movies and saw "Gone Girl" with Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike. WOW!
It was quite a 'who-dun-it'! Had some nudity scenes, and was rather
gory at times, but was very well acted, and kept you guessing.
By the way, Rosamund Pike played Jane Bennett, Kiera Knightley's blond, pretty sister, in 'Pride & Prejudice.' She is an EXCELLENT actress!

Lolly, sorry about the unfortunate soccer incident! Why is it that people who should NOT be coaching invariably sign up for the job?!

Sandi, glad that Sable is OK for now. Prayers continue!

Gosh, it was hot here again today--high of 101! Supposed to be 98 tomorrow, 92 Monday, and 86 on Tuesday. Will I ever get to wear a sweater? At this point, I doubt it. The winds have almost stopped today, though. Just a slight breeze at this point.

Well, have some chores to do, so will say goodbye for now. Will try to get back here after dinner tonight. Have a great evening, everyone! I ♥ us!

Evenin' all,

Sandi, your BFF at school needs to find a different source of revenue. Double bad - inconsiderate of co-workers and a sad disregard for her students.

DanaMo, congratulations on the race. Weather was perfect.

Lolly, as with the teacher at Sandi's school, the coach is an extremely poor example of what kids should learn - respect for others and gracious acceptance of a loss. Should be replaced.

Shirley, glad you had some Shirley time today. You deserved it.

Funny thing, Jufie keeps hiding in the laundry room trying to conceal what appears to be a pile of clothes waaaaaay too small for me. Hmmmmmm. Glad shopping was successful Janet.

JudyE, how cool to see an eagle in the Fall foliage. Bet it was really lovely.

Hi to all I have missed.

Did lots of watering today. Arthritis is letting me know about it. Plan to get to the pillows early.

good evening to all.

the coach should be removed from the league. jmho. to me, the coaches set the example for the participants. to me it is imperative that we try our best, of course, but in the end, be good sports persons and congratulate the winner.

SANDI: your coworker is a poor example of a teacher. there are so many wonderful, hard working, dedicated educators, but she is not among them in my opinion! she would make better use of her time and enrgy finding someother means of income!

KAY; sorry you were so hot today!!! :(

DANAMO: congrats on a race well run!

JUDIE: if JUFIE can wear the size 0 and 1 clothes fine. please advise her to wash them first. lol. no guarantees coming out of a teenage room. lol.

However, if she tries to take my toe socks, we shall bump heads.

:)

kids are at a "haunted house"....too much excitement for me. lol. I am plotzed here in front on the tv trying to hold my eyelids open til livvy comes home.

What a day! A Day full of emotions!

the wedding was awesome! It was beautiful and beautiful day. It was outdoors on a deck. There were two cranes in view and at one time some kind of courting display was going on. Natalie , the bride, looked fantastic! The reception was indoors. During the reception they brought in an alligator, an owl, an opposum , and a parrot. There was music, dancing, dinner and a wonderful time. The toasts brought tears to my eyes. It was a match made in heaven, for sure! For two "special" people to find each other, fall in love is just a blessing. They departed in a 1951 Chevrolet with a driver. Her Mother and father are picking them up in the morning and they are leaving for a honeymoon at Disney World.

Goodorming my eagle friends - it's a balmy 47 degrees outside this morning! Yesterday it was 75 and humid - what a change!

Lolly, I certainly hope that Laurel will lodge a formal complaint with the league - even threaten to file charges for assault on her son if necessary - if that coach isn't removed from his position!! The influence he has over the kids on that team is enormous - what horrible sports and life lessons they will learn from him if he is allowed to continue in his coaching position!!

Lynne2, so great to see you - please come back for a longer visit!!

I spent most of yesterday afternoon out in the garden cutting back perennials and pulling weeds - therapy for me! Today is school work and cleaning the upstairs.

Have agreat day all.

Hoda & Shirley, I agree there are some awful administrators that teachers may need protection from. I feel very lucky that I have never been in a situation like either of you have in all my 30 years where you felt your job was at risk b/c of a bad principal. But still, IMO the teacher's associations (that's what ours is called as well) provide TOO much protection for bad teachers. It takes a minimum of 2 years for an administrator to compile enough evidence/data against a lousy teacher to even put him/her on an improvement plan. Then, if the teacher transfers to another school, or even a different position within the school, the administrator has to start all over again gathering new evidence. It allows what I refer to as "the dance of the lemons." Lousy teachers just move from school to school and become the problem of one principal after another.

We still have an eagle in our nest - I think Belle. What a good sign this is that we're seeing them pretty regularly.

Good morning.

Janet, it's okay that Kay was so hot yesterday. Kay is our resident hottie. lol

Not to worry. Jufie is a tad too large for size 0 but just the right size for a tree stump home outside of Dallas.

Speaking of Dallas, Lolly, so glad the wedding was so very special. Bet you were happy no Armadillo attended along with the other critters.

Hi Lynne2.

May mosey up to the library this afternoon and search for a book or two. Finished and returned all my others.

Wishing everyone a lovely day.

Judie said...

Oh, about those toe socks....

stronghunter said...

Hi,

My earlier greeting was an effort to get the cell phone going.

Sandi, I do hope that teacher finds employment outside the field of education. I'm not really sure what field she would belong in, though. Sounds like she isn't particularly motivated to work, period.

stronghunter said...

Belated happy birthday greetings to our Carolyn.

Kay said...

Good Morning Eagle Buds !!!

A "hottie", that's me alright!☺ Julie recently asked when she can expect to stop getting hot flashes which still occur for her when eating a meal---and she's a skinny Minnie. Her 77 year old mother, who is decidedly Not a skinny Minnie said she'd let her know when she found out!

Actually, I'm chillin' today, due to a baaaddd cold. Waging a war against it with neti pot, Listerine mouth wash, vitamin C, tylonal, throat lozenges......

LOLLY, like the others, I'm appalled to hear what a poor coach Joseph has---some parental organization agin' him needs to take place. Soccer is supposed to be the epitome of good sportsmanship/fairness and it has to start with the coaches.

The wedding sounds divine and I wish the very special newlyweds a long and happy life together!

JO, Dustin Hoffman is my all time favorite actor and Meryl Streep gets my nod for best actress anytime. I'll watch anything either of them are in!

Hmmmm, LYNNE2 tiptoes through..she can tiptoe, but she can't hide!

Aha, JUDIE, did Jufie sneak back in this morning with some toe socks in tow? If so, Jufie has a head bumping coming!

Here's hoping all have a good day, be it moseying into the library, cleaning upstairs, raking leaves, doing a 5K, watching old movies.....

Love and prayers for all !!!

Good Sunday morning to all
Talk about chilly - I grabbed a robe to keep warm at breakfast this morning - the sun is out but has not warmed up the inside of my home yet.

Party time here at 2pm - there is a chocolate cake with peanut butter icing waiting for an early 75th b-day celebration attended by my children for me. Doing it a week ahead of the 12th because I now share that date with the youngest ggs, Ian. And this is his 1st and is being celebrated at the pumpkin patch! I'm not up to Hayrides! lol

Mema Jo said...

Yes indeed the other team's coach!
What an oaf!

Headed out for a walk. Beautiful Autumn day here.
Then to volunteering at the Theatre. A local Soprano. She is good.
Then Yoga.
Enjoy the day.

Judie said...

Kay, seems you are doing all you can to fight that cold. Just stay in and stay warm and comfortable.

Oh for cryin' out tears - just found a trail of toe socks leading into the closet. Hmmmmm Jufie is pleading the 5th.

Have a wonderful early birthday celebration Jo. Enjoy that cake.

Okay, off to farmer's market. Back home. Then to library. Then to water new lawn.

Bye

Kay said...

Oops, forgive me---this cold must have my eyes/brain in a fog! The opposing team's coach was the offender as a re-read verified. Thank goodness Joseph doesn't have to play under that kind of man and hope the league takes some action against the Offensive, as in Awful, man. There were certainly enough witnesses to make some kind of sanction stick!

Oh, JUDIE, lets hope JANET somehow misses the fact that Jufie has returned to home base with toe socks in tow. I don't wear that kind of sock, but any who do will have to lock them away for safe keeping now!

Oh for Joy JO! Chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting--perfect for a 75th birthday. Sounds like a grand and glorious week of celebration for the Lennox clan!

HODA, enjoy your stint at the Theater! Hitting a high note in the middle of the day and then coming down with relaxing Yoga is a winning combination!

being lazy right now. much I COULD choose to do...much i'm going to choose to NOT do, lol.

JUDYE: yes, 60 is not cold by any stretch of the imagination.

but of course, that is determined by your geographic location as well! lol.

I go see the "new" gyn tomorrow. my main dr got me an apt with her....se is part of the vandy team....but not at Vanderbilt itself, thank goodness. that place is insane..trying to get around etc.

so the apt is 2 or so tomorrow. going to address the massive problem I had in august....see if we can get this issue resolved....

hope everyone has a good evening. put locks on your socks!

Judie said...

Good almost pillow time.

Janet, sorry I missed dinner at your abode. Sounds yummy and a dinner from my Southern past. Hope tomorrow will be a good experience with helpful information.

Jo, so happy you had such a lovely pre-birthday birthday celebration.

Hoda? How does a Monkey King splay? Oh, well, maybe I don't need to know that. lol Just glad you had fun.

Now, as for events at my abode. Sandperson and Jufie were really having a knockdown drag out in the upstairs hall closet. Jufie was trying to sneak one of Sandperson's bags into which a black toe sock had been concealed. Sandperson was irate. Jufie insisted on having to get to Nashville immediate to return the toe sock BECAUSE a visit to Dallas has become an urgent crisis because Jufie wants to stash pecans in the tree stump house for winter enjoyment. Lolly, please ask Jack to look before he shoots.

Okay, am headed across the hall to put my feet up and my eyelids down.

Night light is on. Restful sleep for all.

Good evening,

Just got back from a celebration for Rus's birthday at Susan's apartment in Reston. Went right by Annandale. Thought I saw Jufie and the Sandperson duking it out on the side of the highway.

Rus's actual birthday is on the 8th, so we were just a little early. It is the season of birthdays in our family.

And an early happy birthday to Jo.

stronghunter said...

I have heard of the looping concept, Judy. Don't know much about it, though. Sounds like a good idea.

Hoda said...

Looping...it is part of how the Waldorf Schools run.
Started in 1919 by a German. In my humble opinion they produce the most rounded, creative, eager to learn critical thinkers of any school system. Very popular in Eastern Europe and Germany.
We have a Waldorf School in Nelson and the students excell. They love being with the same team of teachers for each phase of their learning. Three phases. Delightful children!

JUDIE splaying sounds painful to Mikey's and others! Let's change that to play, perhaps?

Good night and God Bless

Getting on to say goodnight! Some schools here do looping. It is really up to the principals. I could never have done that as I was not certified to teach elementary. I. Could teach kindergarten or high school home economics. Also, I am not sure I would have wanted to do it. My classroom was for kinder only. Would I have had to go to another room? What about all my kinder supplies? No, would not have liked doing it.

It has been a pretty day. Exciting that our pecans are starting to get ready for harvest. Going to beat those squirrels and not let them get any!!!

Night all! SED!

Goodorming my eagle friends. 42 degrees here this AM. yesterday was perfect fall weather - sunny, cool, low humidity. Today is supposed to be very nice as well but I'll be stuck in a school building all day instead of outdoors enjoying the weather.

Judy, have heard of looping but have never been interested in doing it. Personally, I think 180 days with a group of children and a teacher is enough, for them and for the teacher - have always liked getting a new batch each year. But I have heard good things about it and have friends who have done it.

Prayers for all - have a great day.

time for me to comment in on looping. although this might be different. JUDYE might remember this. Mom had the same teacher (all girls school) from her first day forward. but above and beyond, I remember Mom talking about how the teacher was with them when they went on holidays and such...and about how the teacher had to advise them when some of them had lost family members due to the bombing of Hamburg. THAT's above and beyond .....

I often think of the dedication of that particular woman. Do not know her name.

I think looping would work for some, teachers and students but as with everything, certainly NOT for all.

And good morning to you too!

Sable has a dr. apt in an hour. blood work and nail trim.

Kind of wet here. out of respect for Lolly do not want to say why.

Have a great day all!

Judie said...

Good morning.

Yes, Shirley. Jufie and Sandperson look a bit battered this morning. If is isn't toe socks its pecans and a tree stump house. Just like children.

Speaking of children, looping actually seems a good idea for teachers who would feel comfortable. Gives the teacher experience with strengths and weaknesses both academically and socially. JMHO

Shirley, glad Rus's early celebration was fun and yummy.

Did not like the discription of Loretta's bite area. Hope it was not a tick bite.

Has anyone on FB asked or seen that Megan will be in Sherpherdstown with us? It would really be special to see her again.

Okay, off to peruse the newspaper, finish my coffee, then out to pick up my legal drugs, etc.

Have a lovely day everyone.

Anyone else ever heard of elective English classes? We did this when I was at Stafford High. The school year was divided into 4 quarters, and each teacher developed a course using textbooks or paperbacks. Certain required elements were outlined for each segment. Then the courses were offered to the students with the guarantee that every student would get his or her first choice of a teacher at least once. Students listed their choices in order of preference. The process was repeated each quarter and students were swapped among the teachers.

Elective English was available for grades 10-12. It was interesting.

Mema Jo said...

Good chilly morning to all ♥
I did it! I turned the heat on in the bathroom and my kitchen/dinning room area. I also wore a heavy cotton
night gown and bed socks. I slept very well!

Today is a 'free day' - Tomorrow is a CT - no problem. It is the scan my doc will use in order to navigate to my lung to place the markers for the Cyberknife radiation treatment on the 22nd.
I do have chemo again this Wed,Thur and Friday. Radiation should be the first week in Nov. It really isn't that far away and will be here before I know it with the busy medical schedule I now have.

Jufie and the Sandperson better stay away from MY pecans! Thems fighting words!!

Thinking of heading outside to work and then this afternoon work in the house.

We were going to go to the Texas State Fair tomorrow but think we are going to postpone a week. Can not believe the shoes, old ones, I wore Sat to the wedding wore blisters. ????? Does not make sense!

Mema Jo said...

LOL Lolly - Had you worn your socks with those shoes - No Blisters.....

Kay said...

Good Morning Eagle Buds !!!

JO, so happy with your pre-birthday report! The Lennox Family Rocks! Prayers continue as you and the medicos navigate the tests and procedures ahead.

LORETTA, great pics, as always! Yard/night cams produce some dandy results! I'm sure my neighborhood is teeming with life all through the night with different players than those seen in daylight hours. I don't have the right location in my condo community for such a gizmo, durn it.

LOLLY, I don't think the Sandperson has eyes on pecans, but apparently Jufie does. I have a feeling Jufie is even more elusive than an armadillo. Good luck! Strange that an older pair of shoes would cause a blister--perhaps your foot was a bit swollen??? That's a painful reminder of an otherwise joyful experience!

HODA, I know three young people who were Waldorfians K-12. All highly successful as adults, one an RN, one an attorney and one a skilled auto mechanic. Not sure it's the right discipline for all, but it sure works for some! I'm sure the same is true of "looping" and the "elective English" options. Unfortunately many children in the USA do not have the luxury of such intriguing choices.

Feeling much better today after breathing well enough for a good nights sleep! Hoping to be able to keep a "do" appointment tomorrow. I feel like a shaggy dog!

Love and prayers for all !!!

Yes, Jufie is much more elusive than Sandperson. Jufie is the imp who loves tree stump homes AND pecans.

Jo, will be thinking of you tomorrow. Have my cardiologist in the morning. Will probably snark at me about cholesterol. Oh well, sigh.

good evening to all.

busy day.

Sable's apt went well. Dr. K is pleased that she is stable for the moment and that she has put on 3 lbs, although, I sure don't SEE it. :[ She drew blood and is running a complete panel on red/white cells, as well as running tests to conclude if the cancer has spread to her liver, etc. And, also to see if her liver is tolerating the prednisone.

Then her nails were trimmed and home we went.

Saw a sad sight this evening. She slipped on the kitchen floor and couldn't get back up. Her legs went out from under her, maybe nail trim? and she skittled around like a toddler trying to crawl but lacking coordination. :( Tom helped her back up as I had my hands full of pink hair color.

Olivia's pink hair color.

Then I had my appointment with the GYN this afternoon. She is concerned because if I am indeed post menopausal, then I should not be having monthlies any more. So, she wants to re run the ultrasound, is requesting the blood work from my primary care dr. and I have an endometrial biopsy on Nov 17. Depending upon all of this.....as to what the next move is, and of course, depending upon if I continue or not. I skipped again last month. So who knows!?!

LOLLY: I'd watch those pecans. I betca JUFIE is carrying around a black toe sock stuffed full of them!

Hoping everyone is doing well. Gotta rinse hair and cook dinner. Later!

Yes, socks would have prevented blisters, also would have been more comfortable in PJ's but neither was going to happen. Lol

Worked in the yard, ran errands, and did a wee bit of house straightening. Have decided to wait until next week to go to the fair. Give my blisters a chance to heal but also it is heading to 95, too hot! Next week should be cooler.

Jack got a few pecans today. If Jufie gets any they will probably be too green. 😄. Next week there will be "mo ready!"

excuse for being a No Show? To me that would be enough to place her on
probation if not the last straw for a case of dismissal. I wish you luck
and I am proud of you and your team for not kicking her out the door.

Judie - hoping your cardiologist
hears a strong beat and steady rhythm of your ticker. I don't blame you about not taking another sleep test - I think your 80% will get you through the nights ! Would be better to be 90%+. Start exercising those lungs.

I'll be back late afternoon as CT
isn't until 3pm.

Kay and Shirley and Lolly and Andy
Hope you all have a good day.
Hoda I remembered you are out testing water and riding around the lake in a speed boat... Take Care.........

Hope I didn't miss anyone who is a regular!

Good morning! Prayers, Jo, for that miracle!!

Prayers, too, for Judie!

Jack went out twice last night, no armadillo. He also said there was no digging. I'll go see for myself!

Plan to work in the yard today. So, what else is new?

Jack continues to go to his doctor every few days for him to tend to the cyst. He says it is healing, no infection now. Glad I am not having to doctor it!

He also continues to go to the oral surgeon who says his mouth is healing. Next will come the crown. He is so tired of going to doctors. Next week it is the doctor who is watching his prostate cancer.

Time to get busy!

Hi all,

Back home. Well, obviously.

Cardiologist is a dream. Really like her. EKG showed some indication of eschemia so, instead of the treadmill test or the chemically induced near-heart attack, so will have a cardiac CTA. Dye injection then the machine scans. Not a big deal. Had several done at Walter Reed.

Dreary day here. Thinking of Jo.

Um, Lolly? Jufie does not dig. Jufie collects small brown items that grow on trees and hides them inside his new tree stump house. lol

Okay, going to put a load of laundry in and put my feet up.

I'm home and my feet may go up!

Just a quick 3 in and out scans...
No dye and no liquid intake before!
All 3 of my docs will get a report.

Good late afternoon Eagle Buds !!!

Thanks for the shout out earlier today, JO!

Lots of rain here today, so watch out over there East of Columbus.

Happy to catch up with all the days news---JO and JUDIE you both sound satisfied with results and prospects. Yeah!

Got myself out for the ear lowering and that's enough activity for me today. Besides the usual household stuff and Penny Lou's needs, that is.

Love and prayers for all!!!

Good evening,

Tuesdays are getting really busy for me. First bowling, then lunch with Val and Julie. By the time I got home, it was almost time for me to pick Hunter up from school. I crashed after that, and am now feeling rested. It will be Hunter and grandma at home this evening and again on Thursday, as Kathryn has I-Car classes. She might be almost midnight getting home.

Did a quick read-back and see that there is some concern about Jufie and the pecans.

My mother had a great big pecan tree in her backyard in Huntersville. I expect it is still there. It's near the children's museum down there.

Lolly said...

Well, our pecans on our 4 trees are just barely getting ready. Still in their green hills. Jufie is getting pecans that are not ready and I am wondering how she is getting them into the little house? The door is a fake! LOL

Worked just a little in the yard. Presently 92' way too hot!

Judie said...

Oh Lolly, ye of little fantasy faith. The door may be fake for you but not for Jufie and Jufie has a pecan aging gizmo. lol

Shirley, what are I-car classes about? How was bowling this morning? Practice of competition?

Nest was MT when I checked a few minutes ago. Just lots of green stuff.

Kay, bet your "do" looks nice. Glad you and Penny had a nice day.

Unfortunately, our team lost again this week, so now we are in third place.

stronghunter said...

It was competition, Judie. The team that beat us was in last place with lots of handicap points. They suddenly caught fire and bowled much better than we did.

stronghunter said...

I-Car classes are for people in the automotive business. Kathryn is an estimator. Insurance companies have them, but so do auto body shops. She needs to know stuff about cars.

We are getting the rain now. Suppose
to get a good bit of wind later.

Well you all know it is Terrific
Tuesday TV tonight....

I will try to last through three
one hour shows - not certain it is going to happen.

Goodnight but I just may return...♥

I went to Jordyn Tues gymnastic class 530 - 630 she sure does have a blast, on the way there I drove by the cell phone tower and both were on top of the tower didn't stop because going to watch Jordyn and my neck needs a break from last night over doing it

JudyEddy said...

and we have been stood up today by our eagles this am and this evening but I bet they are in the tree

Judie said...

I suspect Belle and Shep may have been out looking for weed whackers to clear the nest. lol

Glad Jordyn is enjoying gymnastics.

Shirley, sorry for the loss today but your new team sounds so much better and more fun. Thank you for the I-car information.

Jo may make it through tv night but I am fading quickly. Need to be up in the morning as it is "do" day.

Sandperson is almost finished packing sleepy dust and preparing to depart. The night light will be on at 11pm.

Jufie? Well, Jufie doesn't seem to be around tonight. Wonder if he's in the Dallas area?

Oh, rain here tonight. And, so infuriating. Something has again torn up a part of the new sod in the easement between the sidewalk and street. We are not happy campers. Neighbor says he suspects a dog being allowed to run loose.

So, goodnight all. Restful sleep.

good evening to one and to all.

its been a busy week thus far. metro is on fall break; so tom is home and that completely disrupts my day...but in a good way. :)

today got up and went to work. came home, and tom had lunch waiting on me as he usually does on Tuesday. he's such a sweetie.

then off to the chair massage job...then home.

tom and I went and got the winterate for the pool (chemicals to close it) and a new cover. we also purchased an automatic pump to pump water off of the cover. last year we did it with a sump pump, which worked...but we had to put the sump pump (don't laugh) in a colander so that the leaves didn't block the pump. and so it was a challenge.

then off to Walmart to get hot tub chemicals and the rv antifreeze for the water lines.

speaking of wally world. remember I told you I was going to do the savings catcher? well first of the month when tom's retirement drops into the bank we do "big" grocery shopping. that is I buy pretty much 90% of what we need grocery wise for the month. of course, i'll still drop some bucks weekly on fresh veggies, etc, but the majority of it is purchased then. just between those two receipts, and NOT incluing the coupons I used, I got back $40. In addition last month I had $20 in coupons and this month I had $30 in coupons, so over this month and last month I saved $90. :) :) :) :) :)

happy happy!!!

anyway, its pretty simple to use. maybe they dont' catch everything, but I think what I've gotten back is pretty significant.

other than that, not a lot else going on. hope everyone has had a great day.

hitting the bed early tonight. I am tired. sleepy dust must have just been a sprinkle last night....

SED good night my friends.

Kept hearing thunder for most of the evening. Rain and wind arrived impressively, but the storm seems to be moving on quickly.

Kathryn has gotten home from her class. She says there were 40+ people there, and she was the only female. That's the thing about the field she works in. Women are in the minority.
