Did well on today's test...well, I'll live with it. I think it was the highest, or near at 85%. Teacher said there were no tests in the 90's or any 100's...and the average was 76. That's a B. 74 and below is an F.... you can get a C, and after that I guess they think it doesn't matter.
Did I tell you we have a test everyday that we're in class. Tomorrow is another 75 question test on Nursing Theory. Lecture on it today - test tomorrow. They don't give you much time to study, plus there's homework. That is why I studied so much over the summer to get ahead!
PAULA, how did your first day on the job go?
SANDI and DANAMO, how did you like your new classes for this year?
JO, hope you enjoyed the sunshine on your deck. It was a beautiful, but cool day here.
LOLLY, so sorry about the roosters. They are beautiful animals, but if you're sleeping I don't think there's much that's beautiful at sun up!
KAY, great advice for Jewels. Hope you got to the store and precious Penny gets to eat tonight. :)
HODA, what did you do today?
JUDYE & MARGY, Hope you had a great day at work!
ANDY, geez, I used to live in So Cal and it was never humid. What's changed in the past 12 years?
Had an awesome bike ride. The ice cream place in the park called The Rose Garden is closed for the season. Missed out on Gelato today.
Spent two hours this morning in Athens Greece. We had such a terrific visit with Skype. Edward and I get along really well and he has so many interesting things to say. I feel intelligent after I visit with him. They are staying another year in Greece. They like it there. His wife's book on Greek Mythology will be published this autumn.
Lori, congrats on the 85 on the test, esp. since that was one of the best scores! A test every class period??? Yikes, how intimidating? No wonder the US has a nursing shortage!!
Paula, how was the first day on the new job??
Jo, will you and Ed be coming to the beach house any time soon??
Dana, I will be praying for your dad to get good news tomorrow at his doctor's appointment.
I sure hope the cooler air makes it's way here to Bethany! The temperature isn't awful but the humidity is high.
Even with a relatively easy day today, I'm beat - bet I won't make it til 9pm tonight before I'm asleep! Time to fix food for people and pets.
INVEST 97L is out there may parallel our state nothing so far this season which is a record so far Paul says may not be a active season I hope so we don't need any hurricanes after all this rain we have been having Africa waters aren't conducive to storms at present time
Lori - are you skipping class? How did you find our new thread? lol Glad you got a new feather! and also on your test ♥
Thanks Steve for the fresh new thread!
Hubby and I were visiting his brother who recently had knee replacement. He is getting around with ease! God bless the doctors!
Sandi - not sure when - son and family are there for this week. Their sons are out of school so it is convenient for them. I'll let you know when we're coming...
Judy - those eagles know you schedule well. ♥ Sent you an email - I had a questions about our Momster site.
I only work 4 hours tomorrow being we got paid for the holiday most other people got a extra day off but I will have to work a half a day If I didn't live so close under 2 miles I would complain Not work half a day if I would live further away
going to head out shortly to go see jack's baseball game @ 7:30. i think 7:30 (and a double header mind you, one game @ 6, one @ 7:30) is insane on a weeknight. but who am i???
LORI: you are smart! if you were not smart you would not have been accepted into school an 85 rocks!!!! i had an instructor said that all you needed (in jest of course) was a 50% becasue then you've learned at least half of what you were taught.... but seriously.....school is tough and studying is the norm. i think a test a day stinks...but do what you gotta do!
HODA: your day sounds delightful.
SANDI: glad you had a first day that was good
HI SIS! <3
Not a lot new here. Dentist went well. They have the numbing rinse and i love love love that stuff. i used to freak out at the dentist....now i almost doze off. i just did my yoga breath....
came home, vacuumed the pool and had some float time. what is it about floating that feels sooooo goood???
made greek lasange for dinner. now ... baseball across town.
3 Toronto Police Officers approached an 80 year old woman walking in the street at 3:00 am!!! They talked to her. She answered yet somehow one of the three officers thought it appropriate to fire his taser!!! She fell to the ground. Broken hip. Hospital emergency!!! Royal Commission will be convened!!!
How dangerous can an 80 year old woman be in the face of three burly young Toronto Police officers!!!
ODD I don't like the way the photo post on the album I load them in order but they don't display in order and also noticed just not that it say 109pm when I loaded them at its 809 when I did what time zone is it on LOL Oh well I guess I could do one at a time maybe to get in order
Finally getting a chance to check in this evening.
Had a good first day...met some more people, got my parking sticker and security badge, got logged into the computer, then hit the ground running. Worked on some accounts all day long!
Left there at 5:30...got gas and vacuumed the car. Got home, and went out in the boat and brought the crab pots in. Made dinner, purchased a bus ticket for my brother (he is still here, but leaving tomorrow eve) talked to Larry...and here I am.
Don't know what I can or cannot access from the work computer...will test it out next week. Til then, I can use my phone for whatever I need.
I am totally beat...gonna hit the hay here very shortly.
Thanks for all the good wishes for my first day...it went well. Also found the coffee pot :)
Glad you had a good day at work PAULA and found the coffee pot
Well I'm calling it a day SED ♥AOYP See ya in the am ☼ at Sycamore Sunrise Cyber Cafe Bless this Nest and all ♀ ♥ ♂ whom watch it at Sycamore Palace Healing thoughts for those in need
"Be kinder than necessary, for everyone is fighting some kind of battle."
Sounds like a very good first day of work for Paula... and a very good school day for Lori... oh, so busy....Usn's... I was not able to get to the blog until now, so I am not in any way caught up, except a wee bit on this Thread....
Shirley, despite the football game loss, sure hope the season will be a good one for Hunter, especially that he enjoys being on the team
Just want to hop on and say Good Night....Sleep Sweetly.... and God Bless Us, Every One xoxo ♥
GRANNYBLT, there is going to be a huge to do over this one. Our Police, City or RCMP are very decent people and professional too. Where in Canada will you be?
JO not a chance that I be walking anywhere past midnight!!! I want to hear more about what caused the policeman to taser an 80 year old woman!!! Yes SHIRLEY 80 years old!!! Someone is going to have to be held to question over it I am sure!!!
Howdeeeee! Busy busy day! Ran some errands, cooked a new recipe, and then had a meeting at church. Got home and had some reading to do on material I received at church. On a committee, needed to do my part!
Lori...sounds like you did great on the test!! You can do this and do it well!! ((hugs))
Paula, thanks for checking in. Hope you meet fantastic people at work and enjoy your new "adventure"!
Andy, blessing on you...enduring the heat without AC. Geeeeshhh! It is beginning to get to me and I have AC. What is really bothering me is the landscape...everything is brown, tress look tired and stressed, leaves are falling. It is sad!!
Hoda...one thing I can do with great ease is take and understand kidding! I personally think when someone is kidding with you, they love you. :) We dish out kidding very strongly within the family. One of Joseph's teachers told Laurel last year, "I love having Joseph in my class. He understands my sarcasm and humor. He is sometimes the only student laughing." Well, we have done that to him! I laughed at your skit and forgot to mention it.
As for the roosters...right now we do not hear them as the house is shut up and the AC on. Also, they must be young...their "crows" are weak and sorta funny! Time will tell!
Dinner tonight was delish....a great dish and one we will do again and again. It was Whole wheat linguine with Shrimp, Bacon, and Basil. It was fast to prepare and yummy!!
Talk about kidding...we did something when the kids were growing up that was rather different. Really do not know how it started but sometimes you have to buy or do something for one child but not the other. Then the child that is not getting something complains. Well, if either of our kids said something we would tell them it was because we loved the other child more. Well, of course, they realized the foolishness of that and they quickly learned not to say something. LOL
PAULA, so happy you had such a great, and full, day, yesterday. You're going to love it there - great job, living at the beach...lucky you!
LOLLY, very funny stories about the kids and telling them you love the other one more. No wonder Laurel is so well adjusted! She had to be! LOL
GRANNY, what will you do in Canada? Hope you have a great trip. Wish you could catch up with HODA.
SHIRLEY, I'd be so excited - getting your new JD mower today! You're going to want to do the yard now. It's relaxing. And it's great for mulching leaves in the fall.
JO, how nice of you to share your beach house with your kids. Bet they're loving it there this week with the kids back in school there's less tourists.
SANDI, looking forward to day two with your new kids? Tell us about them! I'd love to know.
OK, my time is up here...went to bed at 10:30 and got up at 3 to study for today's test...I'll be tired tonight. I'm going to have mile high piles of flash cards by this time next year!
KAY, a big good morning hug for you.
Hope everyone has a great day.
JANET, hope you get some more "floating time". Now that sounds relaxing.
JUDYE, sorry you have to work the 4 hour shift - not fair!
MT tree is Shepherdstown. Cooler air arrived overnight - it's an open the windows day!
Paula, glad that day 1 was a hit!
Lori, don't really know any of the kids well enough yet to comment. I didn't spend much time in the classrooms yesterday - still doing IEP folder paperwork that's required at the start of each school year. Good luck on today's test!
Lynne1, who or what is in Canada that you are going to visit? Enjoy!
Dana, glad your kids seem like a big improvement from last year's bunch!
Good for you Lori! A 85% is great! Sounds like a lot of work ahead for you, but it will be so worth it!
Glad to hear your day went well Paula. Congrats and good luck!
Results on dad this morning. I think we are all a little nervous. I just hope we have some shrinkage. I think it's getting hard for my dad to stay positive. I will have to run into the classroom early and get set up before running to the doctor appointment. I will try to post when I return and let you know what we found out.
Sorry you are still doing paperwork Sandi. Yuck! I have a few kids crying over various things but overall they are catching on quick and I am really hoping that it will be a big improvement over last year. Looks like it so far. Hope I don't jinx myself!
Happy Birthday to IRIS. DANAMO: holding you close in heart and thought. we are with you.
the day dawns bright and clear. sun is just now peeking over the horizon.
i need to do a tad bit of housework, get olivia off to school...i get a massage @ 9 and then float time! this afternoon is ice skating practice and such.
its been such a nice couple of days off.
hope everyone has a lovely day. :) Light, love, healing, smiles and comfort to all. :)
Good morning all. Foggy here. Guess that is usual for this time of year.
My Canada trip next week is to Niagara Falls and the surrounding area. Since that area is less than 4 hours away, it seems a shame to have never visited. I am going with my birding friend and we don't plan too many touristy things, but will check out the birding locations for another trip during migration and I want to stick my toe into Lake Ontario. Maybe another time I can make it out west to Hoda's area.
Only have a moment while the kids are working. Dad's results were good. Dr. is pleased. There was about a 25% shrinkage in the tumor. Went from quarter size to nickel or dime size. Ordered 2 more rounds of treatment which equals about 8 weeks. 3 weeks on, one off, repeat.
LORI, you've embarked on an intense and sometimes grueling set of studies, but you ARE up to the challenge ! It will all pay off in time. Congrats on the good grade ! Thanks for your sweet hug ! Hugs to you, too !
PAULA, happy news re:1st day on the job. I'm sure the powers that be are already convinced they've hired the best possible person for the job !
HODA, glad there was no damage with that "whole lotta shakin' goin' on". The tasing of an 80 year old woman is sickening. Wonder if she pulled a weapon on em' or something. Keep us posted as the story develops, please.
DANAMO, hallelujah ! All your worrying and stewing was for naught and I'm so happy about that !!! Prayers continue for further shrinkage of the tumor.
SANDI, what a good first day report from you, too ! Maybe this will be a better year than last, hope so !
ANDY, hang in there. You're going to have to have T-shirts made up saying "I survived the summer of 2013 !".
My day yesterday turned sweeter than just a trip to buy dog food. Julie, Malcolm, Penny and I enjoyed a picnic lunch and walk at one of our Metro Parks (the one with the eagles and I kept looking, but didn't spot them). Love having more time with my lovely daughter now that Seth is in college.
JUDYE, forever grateful for the way you help us keep track of our beloved eagles and their palace !
LYNNE1, you're going to love the part of Canada you're going to. Wonderful time to go, too, what with kids back at school in the States and all that.
SHIRLEY, guess it's character building for the boys to suffer some losses. Hope Hunter eventually sees it that way ☺.
LOLLY, keeping a sense of humor is essential in this life. So glad your family is blessed with that attribute !
JANET, "massage and float time" ? Smart girl, taking time to refresh and restore !
JO, "good morning" to you, too ! We all love and appreciate you so ! I envy SANDI's ability to see you now and then ! ☺
Good morning! So happy for Momsters that are blessed with great weather. More HOT and DRY weather here!!!
IRIS....Happy Birthday! May you have a wonderful day and an even better year!
DANA....whoooo on your Dad's report. So very happy for all of you. God is good!
Jack was supposed to go for a biopsy today....but, he got a call. The doctor's office flooded and will be closed til next week. Bad plumbing!!!
Jack's truck is being repaired, expensive job. Well shucks! Could have spent that money in other ways!
Love Niagra Falls! We drove from Detroit to Niagra through Canada. Stayed in Canana and enjoyed the Maid of the Mist boat ride. Amazing to see all of that water...wish it would run all the way to Texas!!
Yesterday was DIL Ashley's birthday. She posted pics on fb and I shared them but apparently she has them blocked from going to friends of friends. Will save and post of the blog.
This is so funny LOLLY. I figured it on my own, posted and then saw your post ... Ha ha ha! No fuss between Nelson and Texas it is all good. Just come back up to Canana any time you want!
We are finalizing our plans for the next month. Have decided to delay our trip to Colorado til October. We are hoping to hear the Elk's bugling. Chance of very cold weather but we will risk it. At the end of the month sister Sharon and hubby, Dan, are coming. We are going to the SMU/TCU football game. Also have a wedding in Shreveport to attend on Oct 5. Then off we go!!! I feel much better delaying the trip. It is still so hot here. Hate to go off and leave my yard. It rules my life!
Hi, Gang, Yes, the weather here is certainly going to make the record books! It was hot late into last night, so neither Emma nor I got much sleep. She was SO restless! She's sleeping like a baby this morning to make up for it. My cell phone is protesting the hot weather! It got very, very warm to the touch earlier, then turned itself off. I can't get it to turn back on! May have to go to the Brea Mall to the Apple store there to get it straightened out. Bummer! At least I have insurance on it in case it gets expensive...And the mall IS air conditioned!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, IRIS!! Hope your day is spectacular!
Lolly, know what you mean about being "chained" to your yard! I had to water a few of my patio plants last night before dark--no WAY they were going to survive until this morning!
Hoda, that's just crazy that they taze 80-year-old grannies up there in Canada! But--why was she wandering the streets at that time?! Alzheimer's maybe. Oh, my.
Well, believe it or not, I need to do another load of laundry. I know it's the wrong time of day, but I need to wash our bath towels before they decide to become mildewy (sp?). They won't dry if just hung up. Gotta put them in the clothes dryer. Geesh! SoCal has turned into the tropics! Oh, well. At least my sandals aren't growing any green fuzz. So, HAGD, everyone, and I'll hopefully be back later. I ♥ us!!!!
Home from school. Got an 87% on today's test...average was 78, so I'll take it. Big, big test coming up on Friday morning. Will do some studying for that tonight, as well as for tomorrow's test. It's never ending. Very, very happy that Cindy, my carpooling partner got a 91 today! Yesterday was a bad day for her.
DANAMO, I'm so happy for you and your family! God rules and cancer shrinks! That is so awesome. You must be smiling ear to ear.
LOLLY and HODA, I was practically on the floor laughing with your posts about Canana!!! Sounds like your calendar is full now, Lolly.
JANET, glad you got some float time today! We need to see a video of Olivia's ice skating. That would be fun.
JO, I'm sure you look beauteous with your new do. Big hugs!
KAY, what a terrific post you wrote. Thanks for that great update, though I have read all the posts myself, you have such a way with love in your words.
GRANNY, envious of your trip to Niagra Falls. Was there as a child, but I was so young I don't even remember it.
SHIRLEY, sorry about the tractor delay. Have you been practicing your bowling?
SANDI, JUDYE, MARGY, PAULA and LYNNE2, hope you all had a great day at the office. :)
WHERE'S JUDIE? I know her computer is down, but I miss her! We miss you, JUDIE!
Aw, LORI, you warm the cockles of my heart with your sweet words about my posts and with the great test result news ! Good on Cindy and on you for supporting her with much encouragement !
LOLLY, nice pics of the birthday girl and her guys !
HELLOOOOOOO home from work and BOY was I wrong its next week that is my 4 hour day so glad I didn't go home and be counted as leaving early Bad mark against me I will not have it LOL
Celebrating your good grades LORI and putting you in prayer for the big test too. Blessed Be.
Your autumn sounds good LOLLY.
Yay new haircut for MEMA JO. Pictures please.
No more news on the 80 year old tasering!! Mississauga Peel Police out side of Toronto is wh fired. It confuses me more as it moves it out of the Big City!!! I do not know what the problem was.
Very good yoga class in the new place.
Need Lunch. Sorry about the hot weather ANDY LOLLY. Upper 60's here! Soup I am having soup !!! Love it!!!
I have been going through some magazines this afternoon. They have been stacking up! Yikes! Anyway, I was sitting here and something caught my eye outside. We have a covered tile patio and beyond that for 4ft. red brick. There on the red brick was a hawk taking off!!! Big ol' rs hawk! Wonder what he was doing on the ground so close to the house?
No, have not seen Bunny lately but Bunny never came that close to the house. What brought him down? Birds and squirrels are on the lawn under the feeders, not on the brick!
Just finished Jeopardy - We did go out to eat at the Longhorn Steak House. It was just as good as the Outback and atmosphere was better. It wasn't shoulder to shoulder! I'm sure we'll go back.
All is well - Lolly you think the RTHawk was looking for his dinner.
I ordered a arrangement to be delivered to the owners of the house Angie and Carl are getting On the plus side the also get a 29.95 box of chocolate covered strawberry order was 50 and that is a special this month Yeah I hope they got it today
I texted Angie yesterday that it was to be delivered this evening but so far haven't heard from her Didn't know if the closing went ok today I figured she would call me when she got time
PAULA she will be closer in miles and minutes about 8 miles and she was 15 miles before and she didn't close today the title co has it for Fri or maybe tomorrow and Angie got a call from the owners and said Your mom did have to do that LOL and Angie replied she want to
Ha ha ha!!! I had a Senior moment LOLLY AND JUDYE Turkey I was thinking of new neighbours pet roosters!!! RS Hawk might solve the problem even though it is a mean thing for me to say.
Got a terrific article from JUDIE today about blind Dragon Boat team competing in a regatta! Brave team Love to you JUDIE. Thank you.
I bought popcorn BALLS at work today not as good as home made but will do LOL and good idea with the rooster We will keep on the down low LOL Hey can you eat rooster?? I think the meat is strong from what I recall we raised them when I was little Lolly could have rooster dinner one night and blame the HAWK Just kidding or am I LOL
Angie is booking a vacation next year with Carl family and I am also going now to find out that the others aren't bringing their kids I told Angie not to worry about it Jordyn will be fine Its a cruise my vacation with kids June 28-July 5 at the Crown Paradise
My hummingbird feeder fell off the window and broke this afternoon. I'll try to get another tomorrow. And, I finally remembered to buy birdseed. A big expensive bag of it, and when I went to open it, I noticed that there were drops of water on the inside of the bag. Of course, it was spoiled. I do not know how it got wet, so I just threw it away.
I didn't get to practice bowling since we went to Colorado, which was not a good thing. I did not have a good score, and nobody even seemed to notice that I have changed my approach. Will have to keep working at it. Very discouraging, though.
Well, Hunter said that he would not care if I threw him out of the house. But he didn't argue when I said that I thought he would not want that to happen. (Caught him playing Xbox on a school day. Not supposed to. Somehow he has a controller.)

Eyes are watering here, too, Lolly. Can't understand why my condition is called DRY EYES when the water so often!? For those of you who have followed my reports on the Soup Kitchen: We had 65 guests and lots of food left over...enough to have another meal, so we packed it up and froze it. MENU Chile/lime chicken wings Baby Back ribs Noodles with pork gravy Candied carrots Various pies and fruit cocktail Drinks
LORI, glad to hear that you did well on your test (doesn't surprise me) HODA, why are you having your ears candled...are you in pain? (((HUGS)))
Awesome menu for the soup kitchen WANDA. Yummers. Bless them and bless you and all those who donate.
No I am not in pain. I was pretty active swimming and going to the beach and I thought it a good idea since summer is coming to a close to get my ears cleaned. Wax builds up and every six months it is a good idea to make sure there are no blockages. The spa serves awesome tea and have a wonderful massage chair that I like to use. I get a half an hour massage out of it too. So pampering myself is more like it...
HODA, hope you went back to sleep. I'd be pretty grumpy on only 15 min. of sleep. :) Glad you got to have soup yesterday - it sounds so fall-ish.
LOLLY and ANDY, now if we can get some cooler weather to you guys in the tropics and desert! Oh, Lolly, thanks for posting pics of Ashley and Zach - nice to be able to put a face with a name. AND, don't eat the roosters! :)
JO, I love Longhorn Steak House, too. It's a nice place with great food. Trying to remember if I liked their onion rings or not. Maybe Outback is better with those.
JUDYE, how cool that you will be even closer to Angie and Jordyn, AND, you're going on a cruise!!! Great for you.
WANDA, SK menu was awesome. Makes me hungry. Glad you had a good turnout, too.
SANDI, How is your first week shaping up with the new kids? Like 'em? Did the autistic boy do okay? How is Bandit?
PAULA, so happy for you being in the real corporate world and at the beach. Dream come true, eh? I bet they love you there.
KAY, wishing you and Penny a special day. Big Good Morning Hugs - I always like to be your first hug of the day. Glad Julie is so close to give you real hugs.
SHIRLEY, you get your tractor today, hopefully! Can't wait for you to take your first ride on it.
JANET, what's on your schedule today? How was Olivia's ice skating? Have you seen any improvement with her math? I called my math tutor (high school math teacher here) the other day and told him I would be needing him soon, just wasn't sure exactly when yet. My practice book on Nursing Calculations should arrive today, along with my new scientific calculator. So happy we can use a calculator on some tests at school!
MARGY, how is your week going? Have you settled in back at work? Wishing you were still in Germany? Big Hugs!
LYNNE1, got a Momster email from you but didn't open it...sorry...it looked suspicious. Hope I didn't miss anything good.
LYNNE2, hope you have a happy day with the animals today, and there's nothing sad going on there to ruin it. Only good pet parents today with happy stories!
Okay, time for me to crack the books and get in the study time that I woke up early for.
Good Thursday morning Lori and all my eagle friends! I can just barely see the nest tree on a mostly gray screen. Can't tell for sure but there may be an eagle perched on the high branches where they like to sit.
Lori, congrats on the test score. I so admire you tackling such a difficult challenge and going back to college for a new degree! Bandit is not doing well - it seems that he has forgotten where to go to the bathroom. Every day we are cleaning up pee and poop in the house. Not sure how much longer we'll continue to do so.
Dana, such encouraging news about your dad! More chemo isn't fun but it seems to be working!
Lynne1, I also got a strange email from you.
Hoda, hope you are sleeping!
This year's 8th graders seem chatty but nice - I'm feeling very optimistic about this school year!
Did not hear from the tractor people. Supposed to give me a time. I will call them when the store is open. I will be in and out today. Would like to practice bowling, but may have to postpone that.
Birds are fussing out there. I need to get birdseed!!
LORI" things are fine. olivia is progressing nicely with her ice skating. we have classes tonight again. its thursday.
as for school, so far so good. the first progress report was pretty good.
she is however, now starting to act very pre-teen/teen. goodness help me. i was so flustered with her ! this too shall pass.
today is work. ice skating. woo hoo.
once got past the early morning, yesterday was good.
HODA: your ear candling sounds nice. i have done ear candling to others, but have never had it for myself. just not something that you can do for yourself. lol.
JUDYE: i think a cruise would be nice. and from what i understand, although i've never been on a cruise, they ahve stuff for kids as well. i think she will love it.
although we are looking at disney in march....i am thinking in a couple of years i want to go to this dude ranch. once of my clients went and loved it. it runs about a grand a person, but is all inclusive and you get to ride horses and all this nice stuff for a week. its out away from people....in the country....its in arkansas ...which granted i would have never thought of as a vacation destination, but why not?
feed them birds folks...i put out new humming bird food yesterday. soon the other feeders will come out. it is september now...
not a lot else going on. hope everyone has a great day! :) light, love, hugs and smiles!
Well, Hunter is downstairs watching that Disney movie again. The kid likes to watch the same movie over and over until he has it memorized. Has been doing this for years. Doesn't like change? Future actor/director studying every angle? Just some kid thing?
Whatever. It seems harmless. Especially since it is Disney.
I am going to need to read back - loots of comments from the night owls.
Good News From The Zoo Scientists at the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute’s Center for Conservation and Evolutionary Genetics confirmed that our giant panda cub is female! A paternity analysis showed that the Zoo’s panda Tian Tian is the cub’s father. Scientists also confirmed the second, stillborn cub Mei Xiang delivered on August 24 was a female and also sired by Tian Tian. The cubs were fraternal twins.
Our calendar has the feature of sending email to announce events on our calendar. I can tell by looking at the actual calendar it is a Birthday emblem by Lynne's name. Not sure how we will know the difference between b-day and anniversary - Just need to check the calendar I suppose. It will be a nice feature; however, I need to go in and check that everyone has the "Reminder" time checked off. I really didn't know what that meant - now I do. Whoo Hoo - no need to send out the calendar copy now.
PA Nana - let us know if you triumph over Windows 8. I don't hear too many good things...... On June 26, 2013, Microsoft released a public beta of the first major update to the operating system, Windows 8.1, to be officially released on October 18, 2013. Keep your eyes open for this update.
Good morning! "Ain't" technology just grand, Jo? LOL Need to go check my calendar and see if I need to check something.
Went to bed earlier than usual and slept really late. Great night of sleep.
Today I need to get out and get birthday napkins for taking cookies to Jacob's school. His 9th birthday is Sunday. Going to celebrate tomorrow when we are there for Grandparents day.
Lolly, my hubby, the geek, won't get Windows 8 for a new laptop. He is waiting for the 8.1 to see if it is better.
Lolly I will be going through the calendar and editing the "Reminder" on everyone. I am thinking that the emails will show anniversary's with both names - therefore we'll know it isn't a birthday. Tell Jacob Happy Birthday for me and have fun at school - Seems early for grandparents day but I'm sure he will be happy to see you ♥
Christine has sent us a message that One of my caregiver friends lost her husband to the battle of PTSD today. My heart is heavy for the family and children.
This is such a sad ending for one who fought for our freedom :(
Oh that breaks my heart Jo. Wish he could have fought that battle. One of the reason I love WCC so much for what they are doing with the puppies for our veterans.
The Mental Health issue in Veterans is a huge issue. It is a Trauma as life in the western world can not reconcile it and it is with them all the time. RIP and THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE SIR.
What are you giving those kids to drink? You need to take the whole class before they sit down in the am. lol - you can't hardly say "No" Perhaps it is also when they see one go they all want to go! lol
My dear Mr Marvin (cat) is down at the Vet. Teeth cleaning and then perhaps some extractions. We pick him up around 4:00. I sure hope he doesn't fear us....... and still loves us!
Practiced bowling. While I was there, I got two invitations to join a Thursday league. I am holding off for now.
Bought a new cat bed for George--it fits right on my bed and I'm hoping protects my bedspread. Cat bed would be much easier to wash. George sniffed it and got right in. Good sign.
But the curse of bird items continues--I bought a bird watering bottle. It leaks terribly . . . upside down, right side up, every which way. Still have the receipt. This item is going back to the store.
Called Lowe's about the tractor. Twice. After much checking, calling in other people, etc., etc., they say that it will arrive by about 2:00 PM today. It is now 1:41. I am supposed to pick Hunter up at his school at 3:00. Told them that I will not wait past 2:30.
Some classes never get over the bathroom thing, Dana. But I think I would not make kindergartners wait very long!!
Maybe just because it is a new thing for them.
I can tell you that lots of high school kids still want a bag of ice or a band-aid for a boo-boo. Some would come to me with a microscopic wound and want a band-aid.
Get a bird bath (plastic) for the birds and squirrels to get drinks. Mine works well but it is concrete and really discolors...... Going to get a plastic replacement soon.
I do have a bird bath, but it came apart. Not sure if I can fix it. It is a glow-in-the dark model. Last summer, when it was so dry, I had a problem with honeybees drowning in it, so I kept a little piece of wood floating in the water so they could get out. Seemed to work.
This is one of those bottles you turn upside down. Looked very nice, but all of the water immediately ran out as soon as I flipped it over. When I refilled it, I noticed the water ran out before I even turned it over. I know that isn't supposed to happen.
Band-aids for high school kids. I always gave a sympathetic look and a band-aid. Sometimes I think they just need a little mothering. Band-aids are not too expensive, and, besides, the nurse decided to hand them out to us.
If they do not make it now, I will tell them that they will have to bring it after 5:00 when Will is home. I have to take Hunter to practice this evening.
Jack is off having lunch with friend. Off to get Jacob his birthday present when he returns. Getting him a fish tank for his bedroom. We got Joseph one several years ago. Think Jacob is old enough now.
Well, Tony the driver did call. He is on the way to pick up the tractor. He does not have it yet. Geesh. They are using a rental truck to do the delivery. A customer rented the truck before they could get hold of it. Gosh.
They say they can deliver it to the fenced backyard if we are not here. OK. Just hope they get the right yard.

Thank you STEVE for the new thread.
I will go back and call the others to come over here.
Have a great day.
I'm off to study. No rest for the dumb. LOL
Love you all!
Congratulations on the feather Lori. Thanks for the new thread Steve.
Should have said my 85% is a "B"...
82% and below is a C.... ah, who cares, right? :)
HI GRANNY! Fellow PA person!
THANK YOU STEVE
THANK YOU LORI
Had an awesome bike ride. The ice cream place in the park called The Rose Garden is closed for the season.
Missed out on Gelato today.
Spent two hours this morning in Athens Greece.
We had such a terrific visit with Skype. Edward and I get along really well and he has so many interesting things to say.
I feel intelligent after I visit with him.
They are staying another year in Greece.
They like it there.
His wife's book on Greek Mythology will be published this autumn.
My bike ride brought me back to Canada.
LORI
YOU ARE NOT DUMB!!!
no rest for the dumb you said.
We internalize such messages even when said in gest!
A test a day keeps the doctor away!
Nurse Practitioners RULE.
Cool here. Sorry ANDY.
LOLLY I hope you knew I was kidding yesterday when I wrote my little skit on the encounter with the roosters!!!
I feel blessed and I know gratitude.
HODA, that is awesome. YOU are awesome! So happy you had a great day.
Just got off the phone with my former math tutor, whom I will be using again, soon. Needed to find out what kind of calculator to buy for class.
Have a great evening all!
Hi all! First day of school went very well!
HOME from work and find a new fresh tread waiting to get filled up

EAGLE IS STILL IN THE ATTIC
JO I poked around and can't find I sent email back to ya
Janet - hope dental went well and that the rest of the day was enjoyable!
Andy - prayers for Ken and for you!
Odd how the color of the sky is so muted and not colorful this time of the day but later usually turns bluer like in the past
the sky is YELLOW big time at the nest
Oh and still in the ATTIC
good evening all.
going to head out shortly to go see jack's baseball game @ 7:30. i think 7:30 (and a double header mind you, one game @ 6, one @ 7:30) is insane on a weeknight. but who am i???
LORI: you are smart! if you were not smart you would not have been accepted into school an 85 rocks!!!! i had an instructor said that all you needed (in jest of course) was a 50% becasue then you've learned at least half of what you were taught.... but seriously.....school is tough and studying is the norm. i think a test a day stinks...but do what you gotta do!
HODA: your day sounds delightful.
SANDI: glad you had a first day that was good
HI SIS! <3
Not a lot new here. Dentist went well. They have the numbing rinse and i love love love that stuff. i used to freak out at the dentist....now i almost doze off. i just did my yoga breath....

have a pleasant evening all!
Well I am done with the news for today!!!
Crazy!!!
Off to yoga!
Sirens in Nelson are on going
Wonder what's up?
Back at ya SIS
and what make it GREEK???
STILL in ATTIC one hour now
and POOF at 802
over a hour and a half
♥
SILLY question Do you all have to sign in all the time to Yahoo I notice its about every other day what a PIA
ODD I don't like the way the photo post on the album I load them in order but they don't display in order and also noticed just not that it say 109pm when I loaded them at its 809 when I did what time zone is it on LOL Oh well I guess I could do one at a time maybe to get in order
Off to TV land this month will be a new season YEAH
evening all...
Was hoping to see a post from Paula about her first day!
Home from football. They did not win this game, but the word is that it's a tough team made up mostly of kids who are also on the middle school team.
Good grief, Hoda. An 80-year-old woman?
Going to wish everyone a good night. Tomorrow should not be so busy, but the mower is supposed to be delivered between 4 and 6.
Hoping Hoda comes on and tells us about the sirens
and Hoda do NOT walk the streets of Nelson at 3am or anytime after the midnight hour.
80 yr old - taser - Preposterous &
very sad. :(
Lynne - Paula peeked in on her lunch break so we know she made it through the morning. I hope all went well also.
Evening, all!
Lori, congrats on your test result. A test a day...wow.
Hoda, so sorry about the 80 yo lady...that is just awful.
Glad you had a good day at work PAULA and found the coffee pot

GRANNYBLT, there is going to be a huge to do over this one. Our Police, City or RCMP are very decent people and professional too.
Where in Canada will you be?
JO not a chance that I be walking anywhere past midnight!!!
I want to hear more about what caused the policeman to taser an 80 year old woman!!!
Yes SHIRLEY 80 years old!!! Someone is going to have to be held to question over it I am sure!!!
Good Yoga Class
Have not heard what was with the sirens JO.
I will check.
Shirley...congrats on the new mowe
SED love and hugs for all <3
Nothing showing on my news feed in Nelson BC JO.
Maybe a highway issue?
The town is much calmer now...
LOL
Eyes are watering. Time to call it a day!
SED!!
Good Wednesday Morning Eagle lovers!
Love to all, and big hugs!
Good morning Lori and all my eagle friends - need to do some catch up reading! BRB!
Have a great day all!
DANAMO, prayers for your Dad. Hope and pray that it's gone! Please keep us posted. Tell him the Momsters have his back. :)
GOOD MORNING EAGLE BUDS

Good morning,
Wow, Judy, I had not watched the news this morning. Wow.
Lori, congratulations on your test score. You are going to be a great student.
Will be thinking of you and your family today, Dana.
Glad you found that coffee pot, Paula! Sounds like your first day at your new job was plenty busy.
Happy birthday, Iris!!
Tell us all about the Canada trip, Lynne.
Hi Lynne1--Enjoy your trip. We all want to go Hoda's part of Canada.
MT attic at the Sycamore Palace.
Time for coffee and breakfast...BBL.
So thankful for the good news, Dana!!
Wonderful.
Hunter is off to school for another day.
Tractor delivery postponed until tomorrow. Lowe's got overwhelmed with deliveries.
Good morning to all ♥
Dana - that information about dad is really reassuring that his treatment is working! I'm sure you would like to dance around your classroom ♥
Just getting coffee - BRB
LYNNE1 SHIRLEY!!!
I would LOVE LOVE LOVE it if the MOMSTERS came out to BC.
That would ROCK AWESOME
SAFE TRAVELS LYNNE
I will look for your posts.
HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY DANCE DANA.
Continued Prayers for your Dad.
So awful what he did. So awful he could not live with himself. I think of the victims and his daughter.
New Yoga Studio today. Yay
Good luck LORI with today's test.
Happy Birthday Iris, my friend.
Enjoy your day and accept these good wishes for you with my love
Good Morning Eagle Buds !
Doing a quick read back and wondering where, oh where is our dear MARGY today. Anyone know ?
Love and prayers for all !
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
IRIS, I see by our calendar that this is a Red Letter Day for you ! Happy Birthday and remember, "age only matters if you're cheese or wine" !
Happy Birthday IRIS

The weather is soooooooo great?
BBL
Canana???
LOLLY???
Sorry about Jack's cancellation of med appointment and also for truck expenses.
All right, all ready!!! Yes, I make typos!!!! Want to make something of it??? roflmbo
I had to work on that one to figure out your post, Hoda. Saw the first Canada, it was correct. Oh, well.....!
I thought you wanted Kanata a small village in Canada.
You were talking of staying on this side of the border.
Got it!!!
This is so funny LOLLY.
I figured it on my own, posted and then saw your post ...
Ha ha ha!
No fuss between Nelson and Texas it is all good. Just come back up to Canana any time you want!
Thank you, Hoda! I am sure we will and next time make the effort to get to Nelson!
Yesterday was Ash's birthday and they went out to eat last night. Here are the pics she posted on fb,
Ash's birthday
Time to walk!
Nice pictures, Lolly.
I'm back from hair-do --Not much different in style but it feels good to have it shorten.
Like your pics Lolly......
Good to see Zach and his mom together
Now to put my feet up for a bit...
Maybe out on the deck again.. ♥
Shirley - just a question:
Did you start back bowling yet....
Was fun to watch the panda's while walking. Saw a lot of action. Cub is alone right now. (Atlanta)
Hi, Gang,
Yes, the weather here is certainly going to make the record books!
I ♥ us!!!!
Hugs, Andy. You turn into the tropics. We are turning into a desert. I will take the tropics over the desert IF (big IF) I had AC!!!
Hello everyone!
JO, I know what cha' mean. I love haircut days.

Amazing LOLLY the RS Hawk.
Are turkeys safe from hawks is the question that came to me. How about Bunny? Have you seen him lately?
No, have not seen Bunny lately but Bunny never came that close to the house. What brought him down? Birds and squirrels are on the lawn under the feeders, not on the brick!
Turkeys?????
EAGLE HAS LANDED
Just finished Jeopardy - We did go out to eat at the Longhorn Steak House. It was just as good as the Outback and atmosphere was better.
It wasn't shoulder to shoulder! I'm
sure we'll go back.
All is well - Lolly you think the RTHawk was looking for his dinner.
Lori - you are on a roll!
I have 2 more shows then I'll return.
BBL
LOLLY I think HODA just meant turkeys in general I think any animal can be a hawks food depends on the size maybe

will have to give 300 to hold ship and 5 to hold plane seat All exclusive Airline, food, and drinks for one price
JudyE, glad they will be closer. Vacation looks wonderful!
Looks great, Judy!
Other than that, it was a relatively good day.
Well, Hunter said that he would not care if I threw him out of the house. But he didn't argue when I said that I thought he would not want that to happen. (Caught him playing Xbox on a school day. Not supposed to. Somehow he has a controller.)
Hope all of your problems are small ones.
Have a good evening. SED, everyone.
A bolt of lightening killed about 20 birds tonight just on the news in Clearwater Seagull

Think it is time to get ready for some shut eye. eyes are watering!
See you tomorrow! ((hugs))
SED!!
Did it again....roosters!!! roflmbo
Eyes are watering here, too, Lolly. Can't understand why my condition is called DRY EYES when the water so often!?
For those of you who have followed my reports on the Soup Kitchen:
We had 65 guests and lots of food left over...enough to have another meal, so we packed it up and froze it.
MENU
Chile/lime chicken wings
Baby Back ribs
Noodles with pork gravy
Candied carrots
Various pies and fruit cocktail
Drinks
LORI, glad to hear that you did well on your test (doesn't surprise me)
HODA, why are you having your ears candled...are you in pain? (((HUGS)))
Good night, prayers and love for all ♥
Awesome menu for the soup kitchen WANDA.
Slept for forty five minutes and now wide awake!
Hope this is not it for sleep.
Will try again.
Good Morning Everyone! It's Thursday.
Hope everyone has a fabulous day!
Love you ALL!
Make it a great day everyone!
Cam page is still very blurry but there is definitely an eagle perched in the tree!
Good morning,
Will check out that eagle cam in a few.
Did not hear from the tractor people. Supposed to give me a time. I will call them when the store is open. I will be in and out today. Would like to practice bowling, but may have to postpone that.
Birds are fussing out there. I need to get birdseed!!
good morning to all.
light, love, hugs and smiles!
I think a cruise sounds like fun, Judy.
Nobody in the attic at the moment.
Lori, I admire you, too. You are off to a good start.
Good morning all.
Yes thank you I had a terrific sleep.
SANDI & LORI the LYNNE 1 is a calendar entry? A reminder perhaps of a Birthday or an anniversary?
HAPPY HAPPY WHAYEVER IT IS LYNNE1
Good morning!
I'm at school and only have a second just to say hello.., I don't think I popped in this morning.
Good morning to all ♥
I am going to need to read back - loots of comments from the night owls.
Good News From The Zoo
Scientists at the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute’s Center for Conservation and Evolutionary Genetics confirmed that our giant panda cub is female! A paternity analysis showed that the Zoo’s panda Tian Tian is the cub’s father. Scientists also confirmed the second, stillborn cub Mei Xiang delivered on August 24 was a female and also sired by Tian Tian. The cubs were fraternal twins.
Hurray for Tian Tian
Our calendar has the feature of sending email to announce events on our calendar. I can tell by looking at the actual calendar it is a Birthday emblem by Lynne's name. Not sure how we will know the difference between b-day and anniversary - Just need to check the calendar I suppose.
It will be a nice feature; however, I need to go in and check that everyone has the "Reminder" time checked off. I really didn't know what that meant - now I do.
Whoo Hoo - no need to send out the calendar copy now.
With all the said =
Happy Birthday Lynne
Enjoy your special day!
Have a great year ahead ♥
Shirley - I must be like Hunter
I could watch Disney movies over and over again and again ♥
I enjoy your football pics on Fb
We will soon be in the market for getting a new laptop. I have been a little fearful of the Windows 8. Hmmmmm??????
Lolly, my hubby, the geek, won't get Windows 8 for a new laptop.
He is waiting for the 8.1 to see if it is better.
Lolly I will be going through the calendar and editing the "Reminder"
on everyone. I am thinking that the emails will show anniversary's with both names - therefore we'll know it isn't a birthday.
Tell Jacob Happy Birthday for me and have fun at school - Seems early for grandparents day but I'm sure he will be happy to see you ♥

Christine has sent us a message that
One of my caregiver friends lost her husband to the battle of PTSD today. My heart is heavy for the family and children.
This is such a sad ending for one who fought for our freedom :(
JO COMES TO THE RESCUE!!!
Why am I not surprised?
Happy Birthday LYNNE
Did he take his own life JO?
God Rest his Soul.
Yes, Hoda - suicide
This happens so often . So very sad for our Wounded Warriors. They don't need to lose a limb but it's their mind set.
OMword! I have never had a group of children that have to go to the bathroom as frequently as this class!!!
You need to take the whole class before they sit down in the am.
lol - you can't hardly say "No"
Perhaps it is also when they see one go they all want to go! lol
My dear Mr Marvin (cat) is down at the Vet. Teeth cleaning and then perhaps some extractions. We pick him up around 4:00. I sure hope he doesn't fear us....... and still loves us!
Good afternoon,
Got Hunter off to school.
Hope Marvin will be happy to see you. Somehow, I think he will be overjoyed that you are rescuing him, Jo.
Mine works well but it is concrete
and really discolors...... Going to get a plastic replacement soon.
bbl
I do have a bird bath, but it came apart. Not sure if I can fix it. It is a glow-in-the dark model. Last summer, when it was so dry, I had a problem with honeybees drowning in it, so I kept a little piece of wood floating in the water so they could get out. Seemed to work.
This is one of those bottles you turn upside down. Looked very nice, but all of the water immediately ran out as soon as I flipped it over. When I refilled it, I noticed the water ran out before I even turned it over. I know that isn't supposed to happen.
No, I am not sure about the purpose of a glow-in-the dark birdbath, but it is interesting.
Guess it might be a good thing to have if you are wandering around in the yard at night.
Band-aids for high school kids. I always gave a sympathetic look and a band-aid. Sometimes I think they just need a little mothering. Band-aids are not too expensive, and, besides, the nurse decided to hand them out to us.
Grumble, grumble.
Come on, Lowe's!!
If they do not make it now, I will tell them that they will have to bring it after 5:00 when Will is home. I have to take Hunter to practice this evening.
We are not that far from the store...
Melting...I'm melting....!!! Trying to cool off.
Jo, so very sorry for the loss. Tragic!! To say the least.
Sorry, Shirley...people who deliver to homes or make repairs at homes are so inconsiderate! Grrr!
We have 5 birdbaths, all concrete. We have to refill them every other day while watering pots, mainly to keep mosquito larvae from having a home.
Jack is off having lunch with friend. Off to get Jacob his birthday present when he returns. Getting him a fish tank for his bedroom. We got Joseph one several years ago. Think Jacob is old enough now.
WOW More Good News
Mr Dash has 3 new ostrich eggs for the incubator......... WHoo HOo
FB - The Real Pip Ostrich Page
https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Real-PIP-Ostrich-Page/498324633586792?hc_location=stream
They say they are loading my tractor onto the flatbed now, and the driver is suppose to call me right now . . . waiting . . . waiting.
Shirley - tell them because of your waiting you want 2 more JD tees lol
Very sorry about the loss of your friend's husband, Jo.
Well, Hunter would like a couple of new shirts. Not a bad idea.
