Hope the urgent signal does not mean something bad has happened, Kay.
Green socks were found and worn, Judie. Football socks for the Jets team. They use NFL team names. I think a lot of parks and rec teams do this.
The hardest thing to deal with regarding the uniforms is the white pants that many teams use. Not even Clorox gets them white again. Saw a team with gold pants. They might be hard to find. Stores seem to have mostly white and black.
LOL! Shirley, I did not know we crossed over. Jo has been trying to access the Momsters site and has had problems. I just was able to get in there at the same time. Too funny!
Yesterday I went for an EMG and an EEG. EMG was normal of my legs but he thinks the neurological problems from my legs is stemming from my hips. Sent me for hip x-rays. He thinks the fatigue is probably from sleep apnea so I will be having a sleep study. The EEG was beautiful he said. I had a hyperventilatory response which normally does not happen to people over 20 so my brain is 20 years old? :)
He started me on 10 mg of Elavil at night to see if that will help the hips and legs. More will be revealed! Sorry I haven't posted in a while.
I am home and Jack is waiting for me to walk. Tech told me it will be 24 hours before the doctor gets the report. The receptionist said it would be 24 to 48 hours. So, I will call Friday morning if I have not heard from Dr. Carol.
Got home promptly and then headed outside. A little outdoor therapy. :) Jack took the dish to church for me. Actually, he took it out of the oven and then to church.
Hi, Gang, Well, we're managing to survive the heat out here in SoCal. We let Emma sleep in the living room last night instead of in her crate in the bedroom, and it worked out well. She seems well-rested today. Bet she slept right in front of the big living room fan all night. Looking for a high of about 90-91 today, with slightly lower humidity. No chance of rain, though.
Omigosh, BELATED HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Capt. Gene!!! Drat--I've managed to miss another important Birthday. HOPE YOUR DAY WAS REALLY, REALLY SPECIAL!!!
Glad to hear the good report from the doctor, Shar! Good that you're so young at heart--only 20, huh?! Wow!
Lolly, you're in my prayers for a good doctor's report for you!
Happy to hear that Sable will be kept comfy with the new meds. God bless her!
Shirley, hope your A/C is working up to snuff very quickly!...That's so cute about the cats following you around the house. Guess they're afraid you'll disappear on them! Please tell George I said "Howdy."
Judie, so glad your students are at least still breathing! It's a start, at least.LOL
Margy, hope your day at the dough factory goes smoothly!
Well, I have some chores to get done, and must finish them before 2 pm, because the electric company wants everyone to avoid using power between 2 & 6 pm. Trying to keep a brown-out from happening.
Hope everyone has a good day. Will try to get back here tonight after dinner.
I am SO UPSET! I got about a dozen emails from one of my nursing teachers...all of them were quizzes I turned in (we do them online then forward the results to her) for chapter I had read. Each email said, "Chapter ___ isn't due until _______. Please turn it in closer to that date." On two she wrote where is your Chapter One? Well, she probably finally found it because it wasn't one of those that came back with her little note on it. On Chapter 39 she wrote that she will accept this one. But there's lots of others before Chapter 39 - they don't go in order. She also stated that she hoped I was reading all the chapters I was doing the homework for. I replied and apologized and told her that I read the chapters in order off the sheet she gave us at orientation. I apologized and said I wasn't aware we couldn't turn in homework early.
I just have a feeling this is starting out on the wrong foot.
What about all the other chapters she didn't acknowledge - I sure don't want to bring this up to her again!
Lori, I posted earlier. Will hopefully learn about the scan in a couple of days.
And, Lori, I do hope you get things straightened out with the teacher. Good grief....Lady teacher, be clear on what you expect!!!
Have finished our walking. Watched the Atlanta Panda cam while walking. So very cute!! For some reason I can not get the Washington Panda cam up. "Technical error" ??????
Hmm, Lori, maybe this teacher has had some kind of issue with a student not reading the material before turning in work...don't panic. I am assuming she has not met you yet.
Oh, I hope Will gets the AC fixed soon. I want to cook that chicken. Nobody is going to want chicken and potatoes unless it is cooler in the house, and it won't be cool if I turn on the oven for very long.
Trying to think how I would feel as a teacher if I got a huge amount of homework from a student before classes even started. Well, after I recovered from the shock, I would not know what to do next.
SHIRLEY, Penny's urgent plea was to go outside and turn a spot of grass yellow ! ☺
She and I are expecting Julie and Malcolm for dinner---Penne with Arribiata Meat Sauce, salad and garlic bread. Hugh is out of town tonight. I expect more times like this now that Seth is away for college ! Another mother-daughter one on one opportunity ! I'm soooo lucky !
Oh, LORI ! Maybe some of our teachers will explain why the nursing teacher would respond the way she did. She should be pleased to have such an avid student. Julie teaches some online courses and she's beside herself with joy when someone shows that kind of interest ! Once she meets you in person the teacher will understand your enthusiasm and eagerness, I'm sure !
SHAR, glad so many bad things have been ruled out and that the doctor is working with you to find the right answers. Sleep deprivation can be key to many ailments. Prayers continue.
LOLLY, we'll all wait for your test results with bated breath. Prayers continue for you, too !
ANDY, glad you found a way to give Emma more comfort in the extreme heat. Our little heat wave is due to break a bit tonight---hope yours does soon, too.
Good to see you, Suzan ! Hope you're feeling good these days !
HODA, I have trouble with our Momster site, too, but am hoping, JudyE's instructions will help. Just have to make myself go there to try.
JO, thanks for your patience with us ! It's a great idea for the way to handle our celebration list.

Back for a minute. Just read my daily "MarketPlace" and found this info for our teachers:
One lesson virtually all teachers have learned: You're going to have to spend your own money. A survey this year by the National School Supply and Equipment Association found that almost all teachers -- 99.5 percent -- use their own money to buy basic classroom supplies.
Last school year, teachers shelled out an average of $485 over the course of a year.
I'm betting SANDI, JUDIE and DANA know that all too well !
Can say this, Lori--I called some of my professors requesting the syllabus early. Got responses that told me they hadn't finished writing it yet. Now that I have taught a few college classes, I understand. Could be that your're getting ahead of the teacher. But this is the sign of a good student.
HODA, I believe you've did all your teaching in Canada. Is it necessary for teachers there to kick in so much do-re-mi in order to provide their students with proper supplies ?
Some money went for things to put on the bulletin board and for things I used myself, Kay. I bought posters, staplers, electric pencil sharpeners--sometimes the ones the school supplies doesn't work very well, note pads, dry-erase markers, pencils, pens, as well as packages of paper and writing tools that I often gave to students.
I also spent money on computer software and paper to use at home--even sometimes on paper to use in the copiers at school. Sometimes the school ran out of money to purchase paper.
Will has returned with the part for the AC, but it is not what he expected to get. We are going to have to wait for Charlie to fix the AC. Do not know when that will be. I think I might freeze that chicken. Nobody is going to want to eat piping hot food in a piping hot kitchen.
Ah, money spent on educating our students. I use videos, DVDs for my crime class. Cost varies from ~$30 to ~$170. Then, there are the professional books and journals. Over the years, cost was huge dollars of my own money.
Shirley, sure hope that AC gets to working soon. Humid in our part of the country today. Still rainy here. Maybe put the chicken and potatoes on the grill?
Lolly, will be sending good thoughts your way.
Kay, enjoy your evening with Julie. New word - must look up Arribiata.
Lori, please do not be upset. Some possibilities: new teacher and unsure how to handle advance submission of assignments; online teaching is challenging and out-of-sequence events can be confusing; she may be intimidated. Regardless, your job is to do the assignments, do them to the best of your ability, and do not take this personally.

I just got in!
Well, imagine that. I just went over the split.
Hi, Suzan!
We squeezed through together.
LOL! Shirley, I did not know we crossed over. Jo has been trying to access the Momsters site and has had problems. I just was able to get in there at the same time. Too funny!
I saw before the split that you all were having trouble. Haven't tried yet myself. Need to go get some lunch together for Hunter and myself.
But we squeezed through at the same minute. Cool.
I am not able to do much these days
but for now, I did just work my way
to the Momsters site....
HELLO MY EAGLE PALS !! SURE WISH I COULD BE PARTICIPATING MORE
BUT THINGS SEEM TO REMAIN BUSY
XOXOX
We love you too, Margy!
Suzan - it must have been Yahoo problem
I'm in also......... ♥
Jo, I agree. Glad it is fixed now!
I just briefly saw a beautiful baby panda's butt!
Mei Xiang is slipping. She normally doesn't let us see. Covert operation taking care of that little nekked mole rat. :)

Sharon, such good news. Know you must be so relieved. Yay!
Thanks SHAR!
Prayers continue.
Glad to see you Margy, but we all know how important your work is.

Waiting for LOLLY's update on her test today.

Good grief, Lori, it sounds like you have read a heck of a lot of chapters. Maybe she is just not used to a student doing so much work ahead of time.
Oh, I hope Will gets the AC fixed soon. I want to cook that chicken. Nobody is going to want chicken and potatoes unless it is cooler in the house, and it won't be cool if I turn on the oven for very long.
I was thinking the same thing, Shirley. She has not met Lori nor had such a dedicated student like our Lori!!
Trying to think how I would feel as a teacher if I got a huge amount of homework from a student before classes even started. Well, after I recovered from the shock, I would not know what to do next.
Maybe this teacher needs a note from the MOMsters.

Well, I am glad Penny got her needs taken care of, Kay.
Little bit larger bird in the attic, but not an eagle.
Back for a minute. Just read my daily "MarketPlace" and found this info for our teachers:

Three, now two, smallish birds in the attic.
Yep, I know about buying my own school supplies.
HODA, I believe you've did all your teaching in Canada. Is it necessary for teachers there to kick in so much do-re-mi in order to provide their students with proper supplies ?
Looks like I need to go back to school after my "you've did all your teaching..." I do know better !!!!

Not a problem, Kay. It is easy to goof on grammar when you are chatting. Happens to everyone.
NEW THREAD----NEW THREAD----NEW THREAD !!!!!!!!
COME ON OVER, Y'ALL !!!!!!!
Then there were books that I used as teaching tools. I could not walk through a teacher supply store without picking up all kinds of things.
Will has returned with the part for the AC, but it is not what he expected to get. We are going to have to wait for Charlie to fix the AC. Do not know when that will be. I think I might freeze that chicken. Nobody is going to want to eat piping hot food in a piping hot kitchen.

Now to the scullery...
