2/16 pm

1202 pm Both adults have left the nest; I did not find either of them at the DCT or BST. We did have a view of the egg here.
1211 pm One adult has returned is perched up high in the attic above the nest. Phew!
1214 pm - Likely Bella perched above the nest protecting her egg and territory. Good to see delayed incubation and the cooling of the egg this will promote a closer hatch of all the eaglets, promoting better survival rates. After all the eggs are laid then nearly continous incubation will be seen.
1218 pm Bella chortles from the attic.
Cooling Periods

Egg uncovered from 1139 to 1155 am1225 pm Bella starts to call out from the attic; she sees Scout coming with food perhaps.
1226 pm Scout lands with something small in his left talon. It is prey looks like a small rodent or baby squirrel perhaps.
1228 pm Scout starts to eat it and Bella is whining from the attic she is not happy that he is touching it. Bella remains in the attic.
Egg uncovered 1156 to1229 pm Scout has a bloody beak from ripping apart the small meal. He should leave it for Bella. It is funny Scout has a piece of meat in his beak and he looks like he is offering it to the egg … wanting to feed somebody I guess. Bella still whining from the attic.
1232 pm Bella continues to whine cry from the attic as Scout is eating the small meal1246 pm Bella exits and Scout follows. They are together perched at the DCT.
Egg still concealed covered up with bedding.
1252 pm One adult exits the DCT and flies out of view. I think it is Bella that is still perched at the DCT will have to wait for confirmation when one or both returns to the nest.
1254 pm Scout lands on the nest with a stick. Bella is still perched at the DCT.

Egg uncovered 1156 toCooling Egg Periods
Egg uncovered from 1139 to 1155 am
Egg uncovered 1156 to107 pm No view of the egg, even Scout cannot see the egg yet he resumes incubation.
Well that was short lived he is up again. So he was testing the bole not incubating.
Scout works on the nest including the wonky branch they know it is in the way and want to move it …
112 pm At times Scout appears to be standing right on or very near the egg cup. Hopefully the egg is okay we need a good visual of it.
124 pm Scout is quietly tracking and looking around; watching for Bella perhaps. Egg remains covered with bedding last visual was 1147 am on the lower cam view.
128 pm Scout exits the nest.143 pm Adults are back not sure if there is a threat nearby both are vocalizing and are perched in the attic.

146 pm More calls from the attic. Perhaps Scout was just following Bella about.

150 pm Egg remains covered with bedd155 pm Both adults have flown away and out of view. Egg is covered up but not protected by an adult.204 pm Bella came in fast landed on the nest.

205 pm Scout lands with bedding he makes his snorting sounds. I think he has been following Bella perhaps forgets he needs to stay with the egg.

206 pm Good grief Bella has left the nest again. Still no visual of the egg. Scout follows Bella out. Nest is MT a224 pm Scout returns. He looks at the egg cup but does not remove any bedding.

227 pm Scout exits the nest. He flies toward the river.

236 pm Adult lands in the attic.

240 pm Calls from the attic sounds like 324 pm Bella lands on the nest. She moves over to the egg cup and does some brief rearranging of bedding no visual of the egg yet. Scout is perched in the attic.

327 pm Bella has moved over to the side of the nest appears watchful. Come on Bella uncover the egg, the waiting room is full we need some assurance here. Bella is eating some of the leftover fish. She calls out briefl340 pm Bella seems more concerned with doing restorations then uncovering and incubating today. Both have stood on the egg cup so hopefully they have not broke the egg while it was covered up with bedding.

345 pm Bella is standing right in the egg cup area but not making an effort to uncover the eg3:51pm, 3:53, 3:54, 3:56, 3:57, 4:01, 4:03, 4:04,4:05, 4:06 Bella calls out multiple times for Scout to switch.

4:07 Bella gets on the crib rail. Calls out for Scout and exits toward NCTC. Building/river are353 pm Bella has called out several times405 pm - Bella continues to call out briefly. Her vocals are not alert calls rather a call for Scout to come home and to bring food haha. Bella has not had a good meal today so she may be hungry. We are trying to document the daily events at this nest so if you post a comment or a concern please include a timestamp and a reference to what cam would be really helpful too especially if it is not Cam #2.407 pm Bella exits the nest and heads toward the river4:39 Scout exits the attic and lands in the nest.

4:41 Bella lands in the nest. Both do nestorations and watch the area. Bella looked at the egg cup, fluffed it slightly.

4:45 Scout exits the nest. Bella's standing at the edge watching. No visuals/imcubation of the egg. She has it buried deep in the center of the egg bole. Hopefully we get a visual before 455 pm Bella has moved back to the egg cup. She made a motion like she was rolling an egg but no visual she is moving bedding out of the egg cup. Bella resumes incubation a good sign. She moved piles of bedding out of the way!

457 pm Bella checks the egg cup again, and again resumes incubation. I think she has found her egg. Bella does some tuckaroos, the drawing up of bedding with her beak then placing it all around herself while she incubates her eg520 pm Bella continues to incubate; she is calling out as Scout has returned and is perched in the attic. Wish he would have brought Bella some fish.

526 pm Scout has exited the attic. I hope he has gone fishing for fish and not beddin531 pm Bella exits the nest. Sadly the egg cup is covered with bedding so no visual of the egg; perhaps when she returns.

531 pm Scout in with a small fish. Bella is heard in the distance she best hurry and get this fish before he eats it.

533 pm Bless her heart Bella is back she is hungry she claims the fish and even mantles it. Scout you need to get some bigger fish your Lady is hun5:34 - I spoke too soon . Scout just brought some food. Yeah. I know Bella was famished535 pm Geeze Bella is whining she is still hungry. Bella finished that tiny fish and has left the nest. Scout follows her out. The egg is not visible still covered with bedding it would be nice to have a clear view of it.

537 pm One of the adults is perched at one of the DCT (Cam #1601 pm Bella is back. The egg cup area is a mess. We can see leaves and bedding but no clear sight of the egg. If the egg is broken we should be seeing some egg shells not seeing any of that.

607 pm As Bella moves stuff around within the egg cup we see something that may look like a broken egg. Need a better look. Camera #3 shows what looks like a broken egg shell but I hope I am wro610 pm Bella exits the nest and flies to the nearby BST (babysitting tree). I hate to say it but I think the egg has broke. Here is a capture from camera #3617 pm Scout was back for a brief visit. He checked the egg cup but again no clear visible of the egg. Lighting is bad at this time of day perhaps when the infrared comes on. We will have a better view on Cam #3

618 pm Scout exits the nest. Nest is MT again.

625 pm Attic is MT the adults are likely at the BST. Be interesting to see if Bella comes back.

645 pm Nest remains MT all is quiet at the nest. I am out for awhile will check back later. Thanks to everyone for sharing here today; not the day we expected so it was nice to have y’all here to offer insight and support to our eagle family here.ng).gry.g.g.darka.g.y.Bella.gaining.
