Let's pray for this to work!!! ♥

Hoda said...

I like the way you do errands JO.

I had a wonderful visit with Edward in New York. We talked for over an hour. I love him dearly. I asked him about ipods as I am thinking of buying one for my trip to the USA...does anyone here know about ipods and which one to get? I want to take my music and my yoga talks with me...

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Hoda, definitely an iPod touch. If you can connect to wifi, you can get on the blog, still cam, Facebook, etc. You can't get the live feed with it though. It also holds your music! :) Not sure how much music you have. If it is a huge amount, you would probably want a 16 gb but normally an 8 gb holds plenty.

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

I had such a fear for a while that our precious Lynn would not make it until we could have our gathering and I am so grateful to God that she did!

Lori O. said...

Jo, Prayers we get a baby panda from today's procedure!

Sure wish KAY would check in and fill us in on her visit with the neuerosurgeon. Most of all, I hope it's GREAT news!

HODA, I have an iTouch and I love it!

Lori O. said...

HODA, the iTouch will also hold a ton of pictures!

Sandi said...

Hi all! On my new kindle fire. Let's see if this shows up!

Sandi said...

Woohoo! I see me!!!

Hoda said...

Thanks Shar and LORI. I see something called the ipod classic is this worth considering. I would like to be able to get on the blog when I am away and to let you know what is happening in my life and to share in your stories.
I so miss LYNN as I had hoped to phone her when I crossed the border and to keep her posted on my travel route...I will keep her in my prayers instead and while in the USA will eat a steak in her honour...I think on the fourth of July...It would have made me feel more secure because of her common sense approach to any situation and her good advice as to what comes up...LOVE YOU LYNN.

There is a choice of an ipod 8 32 64 GB!!! LORI what do you have? SHAR thinks 8 or 16 but I do not see a choice of 16 it goes to 32...We do not have an apple store here and they do not ship from Vancouver so I have to buy it online...They have them on Wal-Mart but I find Wal-Mart treats their employees shabilly, look at how JUDYE is being treated, I do not like that at all so will not buy from Wal-Mart. I do not know if they carry the ipods even here in Nelson.

SHAR and LORI thanks for your help...keep it coming please.HUGS♥♥

I see you SANDI!!! It did not take long to come from Africa...amazing is it not...

OK - Just getting home from work and checking in here. I just want to make sure about making a donation in Lynn's honor. I was wanting to make it to the Friends of NCTC when I get the all clear. Also, I will not promise anything at this time...but I am trying to switch with a co-worker in order to make a short appearance the day of the Memorial. I see it starts at 11:00 AM. I think I can find the church...Washington Street is the main street of Charles Town...not sure which end of it the church is located. I will have to be in my work clothes and most likely leave around noon. Just want to get everyone's opinion if those things would be OK. My boss will have to approve the switch and we have a big sale going on this week and I will wait for a good time to ask him. I don't want to make plans until I know Imcan attend. Any and all help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Hoda, if you get the iPod classic, it is not getting-on-lineable! :)

Didn't realize the iTouch didn't come in 16 but I had an 8 and it held all my Train music! :) You are probably going to pay close to $200 for it, I would think.

Sandi said...

I have been saying that, when I can upgrade my phone, I will never be able to switch to a smartphone b/c, with my long fingernails, I can't use the virtual keyboard. Some folks have said I'll get the hang of it. Based on my 30 minutes of experience playing around with my new Kindle Fire, I had better stick to a phone with a physical keyboard!! When I try to touch the correct key with the pad of my finger, my fingernail hits a different key or my finger hits the key below the one I want to hit. And the virtual keyboard on the Fire is WAY larger than on a smartphone. MTBR I guess.

I WAS able to get to the cam page and bookmark it. No sound - I think I have to do something to enable the flashplayer, but I don't remember what! Anyone remember from when we were emailing back and forth about Lynn's??

WVJerry said...

Sorry for typing should be I can attend.

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Jerry, sadly I won't be able to attend Lynn's memorial service but I am sure it would be great if you could attend any of it!

Sandi, did you get a stylus with your Kindle Fire? You could use that on a smart phone too!

wvgal_dana said...

Off goes Shep leaving a fish in the nest.

Hoda said...

Attending LYNN'S Memorial is a wonderful gesture of respect and the warmth of being a DADSTER WV JERRY. I wished I lived closer I would for sure attend. I plan to Light a candle and do prayers at the same time the Memorial is going on and I think many of the away MOMSTERS will do the same. You are a fortunate man that you could attend and I hope it gets approved by your boss. LYNN WE LOVE YOU ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Blessings to you JERRY.

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Our convention is May 11, 12 and 13 so I can't come and that makes me so sad! I will definitely be there in spirit!

Hoda said...

You are right on the price SHAR...OK so the classic is a no go as I can not get on line you say...Will the touch allow me to read your posts too? I hope so as I will be in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and would lOVE LOVE LOVE to communicate with my AMERICAN FRIENDS...

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

The iTouch is just like my iPhone but without the phone part and I do everything on my phone.

Sandi said...

Sharon, I am headed over to amazon.com right now to buy a stylus - I remember Linda got one for Lynn. This KF was my daughter-in-law's, but she wasn't as crazy about it as she thought she would be. She has a nice red leather cover on it but no stylus!

Hoda, Brian shipped it from Tanzania on 4/24 and it arrived today!

Hoda said...

That is AMAZING SANDI...less than a week...Enjoy...
OK SHAR thanks about the phone and the iTouch...would you get the 8 or the 32...I am leaning more towards the 32 for longer hours without recharging and for higher capacity...When LORI lets me know I will see about ordering on line...How do you know a site is secure do you know SHAR? Have you ordered on line ever?

Lori O. said...

HODA, my iTouch is a 32, but honestly that probably overkill for me. A 16 would have been fine.

Hoda said...

KAY sent an email so she must be finished her appointment...I hope she comes here soon to let us know how it went.

Kay said...

JUDIE, ask and ye shall receive ! Here I am, thoroughly exhausted, hungry and can't even take time to back track on the posts just yet.

Surgery is a must the neurosurgeon says. Unfortunately the 1st possible date is Wednesday, June 6. Will be fitted with a brace next week--more for post surgery, but she says some benefit pre-surgery and I hope that's the case for me. Meantime I'll continue to down the meds, apply heat and cold and count the days til' RELIEF is mine ! Thanks again for the positive thoughts, loving concern and prayers, dear Eagle Buds !

Now for some food and rest--see you tomorrow--e-mail me if I'm missing anything uber important, please !

Prayers for all in need ! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Sandi said...

Hoda, I do most of my shopping online and pay ALL of my bills online. If a site starts with https://, then it is secure.

Sandi said...

Kay, thanks for giving us an update. June 6th???? Any chance it could be moved to an earlier date or is that firm? That's a long time to endure the pain you've been enduring!!

Home from work and have some rather interesting news sort of Everyone in the consumable depts have been called in to the office because when we get our remodel they will be on the grocery side of the store Health&Beauty& and Pet Dept so we all had to sign a new form saying we are aware of it and also the paper has the weight limit of 25lbs now not 65lbs but the stocking is still there My CoMgr was as sweet as she can be ( the B that said on that day DON:T SAY ANYTHING IR YOU WILL MAKE ME MAD well she has been so sweet to me lately its scary Well there are two boxes to check and she said we need you to read this and check the box that you can do the job Well in the past I never signed anything but my old personal mgr said to check the box that I can't do all the above required work and it will not affect my job but will cover my ARSH is you get what I mean Well I signed it and checked the box I wanted and not the one she ask me to check but she didn't even look at it after I handed it to her Well as we were talking she stated OH by the way all your paperwork IS in order in your files and your job will not be affected I think I was correct that our Homeoffice probably read my emails that I sent to HR and they were told to drop it So now after all this time I can breath and not worry is today the day
I think I agree with alot of assocaites that they are trying to intimadate people to see if that can make up quit and found out that can't mess with my I don't bow down to any of them OK that is enough of that

JudyEddy said...

Great news KAY so sorry it has to be that far away If they have a cancellation I wonder if they will get her in sooner????

JudyEddy said...

Our chick even look littler with the cam zoomed out But I like it

CarolAnne said...

Evening all,
Have been rushing thru comments lately, trying to keep up. Hopefully I haven't missed anything important. (Kay, praying there is a cancellation & your surgery date moves up).

I think (or I dreamt) someone said something about having someone make a DVD of the Nest visits/get togethers over the years.

If there are no takers, it is something I can try to do, once I finish with my current project.

Fighting some kind of internal bug I think. Body cold, face burning up, no other symptoms. Oh where is Lynn, she would know what I should do. . . .

Jewels said...

Hey there.... Home for the evening I hope. Will be heading to bed early I think... Its been a real hard day today. Went to the Fiduciary Office to stat Mom's Estate stuff. Seems easier than we thought it would be. We then went to Mom's house and just grabbed the paper work Christie would need to call the banks, life ins papers and grabbed some of the items that would go bad out of the fridge. It hit me again that Mom wasn't coming home. I cried most of the way home. Then I read the tributes and just had another breakdown. This is what was meant when you have good days and then a bad one. Jessica even said she didn't want to eat the food I brought home, she just wanted to hold it to her chest and hug it. :(

Hoda said...

OH C/A I am so sorry you are not feeling well...LYNN WE MISS YOU♥

JUDYE I will never in my life spend a dime in that store where you work!!! Everytime you write about how they have treated you my blood pressure goes up!!! It is NOT NOT NOT right at all!!!Proud of you for holding your own.

Hoda said...

...CAROLYN and we all hold YOUR MOM in our hearts and hug her

wvgal_dana said...

Jewels that is exactly what the days are like. You feel you can do this then something can even be small and you break down. Remember that is OK. You and Christie and the girls are exactly where God wants you to be. Some parts of the day good other parts sad. We love you all (((HUGS))) ♥ We love Lynn♥

Mema Jo said...

Jessica - love you! Carolyn did you pat that big fat frog's head in the yard so your Momma knew you were there?
I love that fat frog!

Jewels said...

C/A I suggest some ibuprofen, and stay hydrated and rest!! If not better by morning call the DR.
Kay so sorry the date is so far out. Enough is enough huh?
Jo( Momma III) I did not.. :(
But I did tell sis that I wanted to bring that fat frog up here to the house and make a garden area with him, have a bench and flowers...nice sitting area to talk to mom.

Mema Jo said...

Carolyn - You sounded just like your mom
giving advice to CarolAnne! The most weird feeling came over me as I read your words.
On the day that the Fat Frog gets moved
I would love to be there! Do you remember how they ever got Fat Frog in your mom's drive?

Jewels said...

I am sorry, I think in some ways Mom has rubbed off on me and that is GREAT to me!!! I am sorry it gave you chills!!
I think it would be fitting if you were there, Wanda and Margy too!! WE can have a posse to my house. Charlie and a group of guys will use a come along or a wench and bring it up on a trailer...

Jewels said...

I think that is how they got it off the trailer at Mom's house. Where Bill bought it they loaded it by a tractor.

Mema Jo said...

Sounds like a frog party! I'll be there for sure with 2 more guys to help!

And have been hooked ever since! :) And yes, I cried right along with you last year. Still get a lump in my throat.....

evening all...

been lurking a bit, catching up on email, reading the tributes to Lynn. Getting my butt whopped again by Shriley in WWF.

In reading the tributes, I see that Lynn had one from Libby. She adopted Liesl from Libby, who used to run Tails of Hope Rescue, from where we adopted Daisy! Before that, I knew Libby because she brought many of her rescues to the vet hosp. where I worked back then. I cannot imagine how we didn't figure this out! I had no idea Libby moved to WV. and was doing rescue there. Small, small world, and now I know we both had/have our hounds from the same woman!

Good evening,

I have been lurking on and off today. I didn't sleep much last night, so I slept away the morning after I got Hunter off to school.

Carolyn, I thought the same thing as Jo when I read your advice to CA. You really sound like your mom.

Kathryn is coming to the conclusion that her back pain is from the gall bladder, not the car accident.

She has an appointment for Thursday with the surgeon. If she doesn't feel better tomorrow, she is going to try to get an earlier appointment.

AZPatti said...

Off to watch The Voice and eat dinner. If I don't make it back, sweet dreams to all and prayers for those in need.

Kay, so glad you will have something done, but sorry it is taking so long. The brace should probably help.
JudyE, glad it looks like your job is secure at Wallymart.
Did some digging and planting in large flower pots & I'll probably be sorry! Woke up w/a tender shoulder blade & it got a workout! DUH

I swore I wasn't going to mention this, but I have to share before I go bonkers.
When I was outside today, I kept hearing a strange sound like "chow" Sounded like maybe a bird or a squirrel. Neighbor behind me came outside and she heard it too. We both were looking towards a tree between her yard and next door to her.Unfortunately the sound is still going on and we think it's a kitten! I emailed her~~~don't have phone number, it's dark and not my property, so I can't do a rescue. I won't sleep tonight!

Thanks SHAR. Then it makes sense to me to get an iphone as I already have a cell phone but I do not want to have to keep track of two gadgets.Itouch and cellphone. If I trade in my cell phone I can upgrade to an iphone and that would be cheaper. The itouch I am thinking of costs 299$ and the iphone 4S16BG costs 199$. I am not sure that in the back woods of Maine there will be wi-fi reception which I will need for the itouch...but with the iphone I do not need the wi-fi...

Good Evening, Everyone,

Have been lurking a bit here today, but have had to spend a lot of time looking up paperwork. We finally have an appt. with a lawyer tomorrow at 11 a.m. to discuss what to do about finding my cousin and getting her off the deed to the desert house. Please say some prayers regarding that situation! I would SO love to be able to sell the place, and get it off my back. Just too complicated!
Thank you in advance.

Emma seems like her usual self today, but last night after Ken went to bed at his always early time, she begged me to spend some time with her. When I sat in my recliner in front of the TV, she immediately velcroed herself to the front of me, heaved a huge sigh, and she was asleep in about 30 seconds! She slept really soundly, too. Ken got up once to go to the bathroom, and she didn't budge, or even bat an eyelash! She finally woke up at about 12:30 a.m., so I put her in her crate, and I went to bed. After Ken left for work, I fell asleep after breakfast, and slept until 10 a.m.!

Carolyn, I'm sorry you had such a tough day today. WV Dana is right-- you'll have a few fairly good days, and then just the smallest thing will hit you like a ton of bricks! We are all here for you, though, and we're having some bad days ourself. Just know that we love you and your sister very much, and your Mom, too. Hopefully if we all stick together, we'll all make it through this. (((HUGE HUGS)))!!! I hope you are able to arrange to move that frog, and make a seating area by it. Sounds like a wonderful idea! Hope you can sleep well tonight.

Loretta, I hope you can figure out what is making that noise, and if it's a kitten, hope you can rescue it! Golly, what a worry! I hope you can get some sleep tonight!
Prayers for that little creature, whatever it is!

Kay, that's good news that you can have surgery! I just hope there's a cancellation, and they can do it sooner! Prayers continue!!

Well, I'd like to chat longer, but think I'd better get some sleep. Tomorrow is going to be a busy day, and there'll be no napping after breakfast!

I've said prayers for everyone, especially those in need of comfort, pain relief, and healing.
I've been thinking of Lynn almost constantly today. Love and miss you so much, Lynn!! The porch light is on, and both security systems are enabled. Sleep well, everyone. God bless, and goodnight. Love you all so much!

Good morning my eagle peeps. I would have said hello earlier, in fact I had it ready to go, but I couldn't figure out how to log out of Eagled-Eye Shar's account. : )) Any ways I digress (I did find out how to log out). I have done the dishes (well they are socking), I have mopped the floor and I have dusted. I'm thankful for the willingness to do that because I had been sleeping and trying to get right with my medicine with little willingness to do any chores.

Thank you all for your prayers while I was sick and in the hospital. I'm not sure if I would call it a hospital but for now that is the only word I can think of.

Shirley, I do hope Kathryn can find a solution to her discomfort. Please give her an extra hug from me.

Lowreeda, wishing a successful rescue for whatever is trying to communicate. Let us know, please.

Have marked my calendar for Friday afternoon so as to remember that is Red's surgery day. Have no doubt he will be home and headed for biscuits and gravy pronto.

Babes were moving around a bit when I checked. Seems quiet. Turtles at Pete's Pond. Bears are doing fine. Loon nest MT.

Papers to read/grade. Would love to finish today but suspect my tolerance level and eyes will decide otherwise.

Rainy morning, here.

Good Morning Sandi, Lori, CarolAnne, Thelma, Judie, JudyE, Glo, Shar and Lurkers :)

Glo that was such a special article. Thank you for posting it for us.

Thelma when I quit smoking I was in the hospital. I had them get me 2 packs of plastic straws (not the bendable). Cut them in half and it fells just like your holding a cig. I would draw on it of course only getting air. Then when I really needed a cig. I would bite the end of that straw like crazy. It broke my need for the cig. lol
Good Luck Thelma I am praying you will....no I know "you will do it"
:)

Shar I know it is bothering you about the date May 12th. Knowing you gals in Bluefield. At the thing you are going to. You gals will probably lite a candle and read something special for Lynn. GOOD MORNING FRIENDS...

CAROLYN, I love your plans to take Mr Frog to your house and use it as a special place to visit with your Momma. I most certainly would be honored to be there when you start that project and maybe plant a perenial flower that will come back and bloom, year after year~

When I first tried to sign LYNN's guestbook, it didn't print my remarks, so, Sunday in church, I spoke with a member who works at Brown's Funeral Home and told him of my problem. He said he would check it out and do what he could to fix the problem. I see where some of you had problems also, where you printed twice. Steve said Firefox works better with their site than I explorer. So I may try doing that.

JudyE,
I loved your tribute, I may use the 'letter' portion in a special way.

Good Morning Jim and Wanda :)

I think it is going to be a hot day with showers.

I love the idea of the perennial flower garden around Lynn's Frog. Maybe we could get something together through Megan and then with Wanda's help end up with a Momster Perennial garden. Just a though to throw around.

wvgal_dana said...

Glo that sounds so beautiful for Lynn. I love you Lynn/e-Hedgie♥

I am still thanking God that our male Eagle. Was given the name Lynn wanted so badly. The reasons where great; after Shepherstown and that he would father the eaglets as a Shepherd would.
Lynn you did get the name "SHEP" for our male Eagle. (((Hugs)))) I knew it was suppose to be. Even though some thought I was I'm sure nuts. I think of you so often and carrying you in my heart. Then when I see Shep fly in. It brings a part of you right back :) Love you Lady ^j^ ♥

Love you. Sharon!!!!! Just ignore and hang on!!!!!!!!

AZPatti said...

Hmmmm, still doesn't work. Turning Number Lock on and off didn't help.

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

AZPatti, are you holding them both down at the same time? ♥ Hold down Alt and then hit 3 on the number pad.

Lolly said...

Good morning!!!! Okay, I finally got my gumption up to go to the Brown Memorial sight to leave a tribute. Through tears I typed my message and now it will not post. It is just going round and round! Do not want to go through that again!

Bird Girl said...

It looks like we will be having an 'owl year' at my rescue: we already have one barn owl, and SIX Great horned owl chicks, all less than three months old.

Lolly said...

On my keyboard (laptop) I have the number lock on, then have to hit and hold down the Fn and Alt keys then hit L3 ♥

Hello this Tuesday morning.. I haven't
read all your comments but it looks as though we are slowing down. Kristen is with me and we are going flower shopping - mainly hanging baskets for my deck. A garden around The Fat Frog will be great but we need to wait until it going up to Carolyn's home. It is a great idea!
I did send an email to Jerry - I am hoping to meet him at the Memorial.
Sandi - my fat fingers are even a problem on my cell phone. How is the bathroom coming along??????

Lolly said...

When Caro moves that frog and makes a flower garden, I want to send some seeds for Texas Gold Columbine!!!!

Lolly said...

Oh, and I just love my iphone and when I post with it, I just have to type very slowly and very carefully and make a lot of corrections!!!LOL

Mema Jo said...

Lolly - when you sign the Guest Book and submit - it automatically goes over to the Tribute site.
Did your authorization code go through?
Maybe you bumped heads with Chrissy's comment...... Please try again. CarolAnne is using these comments for the Memorial book. ♥

AZPatti said...

Yup, I'm holding them at the same time. Gotta leave for work now; will mess with it later.

Hope everyone has a good day!

Our two eaglets, Missy and Bro are really getting ready for Take Off. It is usually at 11 weeks - I sure hope they don't try anything before all those
wing feathers come in... Also I just hope they don't bump into each other!

Lolly said...

No, my authorization did not go through. It just sat there!

I will go back and try again!

Hope we're still on this page! It's one of those "cut the phone cord" days!
The drama has been resolved!!☺Got up an hour early this AM in case I had to go on safari in neighbor's yards. Last night I had set out baggie of cat chow, bottle of water, two little plastic bowls, flashlight and garden gloves on counter. We heard nothing outside, it was raining and fairly dark. Fubby volunteered to take care of problem, so I went to work.
Frank called a couple times & told me he drove around block & man behind us came out. They found tan kitten in another neighbor's garbage can!(can was next to fence, so it must have climbed up & in!) Neighbor behind had a cage, so it was put in there. Water was in can, so it didn't dehydrate, but it didn't want to eat the food and was all wet,and continued to meow all the time. F got it to the animal shelter where they say kittens are adopted right away. So I hope the rescue wasn't in vain! ☺

Hey Sharon, just take a deep breath and we can move on.

AZPatti, number lock must be off and you must use the side number pad.

Okay, back to grading. Had to take a break.

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Thanks Judie. I just needed a little help to get over the hump!

Catching up at school ...

Glo, loved the story about how you got Dex and the companionship he has provided! Also love the photo you posted on FB for Carolyn - magnifient, and the perennial garden idea for Lynn. I like annuals b/c they bloom all through the spring/summer/fall and are very showy. But my perennials are my favorites, even when they only bloom for part of a season. There's something so rejuvenating about seeing them peeking out of the ground in the spring and letting me know they survived another winter!

Jo, the plumber is at the house right now installing the new tub/shower - got an email from Denny about 20 min. ago. Denny still needs to buy his new "throne," though he has already picked it out. Flooring should get started this weekend.

Thelma, my Mom quit smoking 25 years ago and still says she misses it on occasion.

Sharon, good on you for remembering your Momma's lesson that, if you can't say something nice, say nothing at all!

Lynne, your advice and words of wisdom for Jewels have been right on target. Spoken like someone who has lost a mom or dad.

Haven't seen Linda on the blog in a couple of days, unless I've missed seeing her posts. Hope she's not dealing with a migraine.

AZ Patti, I was thinking the same as Lolly - it's obvious you've been lurking for a long time b/c you know the Momster dictionary! =)

Judy, happy to hear that the work situation seems to have resolved itself in your favor.

Shirley, sorry to hear that Kathryn is still in so much discomfort. Hope she gets relief and answers soon.

OK, enough fooling around - back to work for me.

My Daphne would be glad you remembered her MeMa Jo. She was fun very very fun. The only thing that is more fun and more work than raising a new puppy is to raise 2 of them together. Dex's girlfriend came to our home 2 weeks after he did.
