Good morning, Judie.

Lori O. said...

Good morning Judie.

I hope you two have a great day. I've got to clean up here, but I'll check in as soon as I get home to see if there's any word on Leisl.

Judie, glad you survived the meet & greet. I'm not a fan of that stuff, either!

Prayers for Liesl and Hedgie-Lynn/e--Dear God please let the Vet be able to treat and make Liesl better. In your name I pray..Amen.

wvgal_dana said...

Good Morning Dear Friends and Lurkers ( :

I have been on the other thread. Trying to post a comment on JudyE's site. For some reason it won't let me.

It let me on Margy's and Loretta's.

wvgal_dana said...

Sorry Thank you Steve for the New Thread.

Thank you Lori and Hedgie-Lynn/e for the call over.

PA Nana said...

Good morning Steve and eagle buds.

PA Nana said...

I've given up trying to catch up. You all are a chatty bunch but I love you.

Oh no, Liesl is not better? Hope the vet can make her well again.

Lori O. said...

The call over really belongs to LYNN. I knew she was in a hurry, so I did my usual BIG 'new thread,' so no one would miss it.
Sure hope Leisl is okay. Lots of time to pray in the car. Headed home now. BBIALW.

Lolly said...

GOOD MORNING!♥ Just a quick hello, have to leave in a sec for a routine doctor's appointment. Had a great day yesterday in Dallas.

I see that our pup, Liesl, had a horrible night. Prayers for Liesl and her Mommy!

Be back later!

wvgal_dana said...

Oh yes about the "mouse"......ok if I leave my laptop on but going to be watching tv. To save batteries in my wireless mouse. There is a stick like thing that goes into the USB port. I take it out. If I turn my mouse upside down it fits in there. Making it stop the battery. When I come back and want to view and type. I just take the "stick thing" out from under mouse and stick it back in the USB port.

Mema Jo said...

Good morning on our New Week thread
Thanks Steve

I am thinking of Lynn and Liesl! Please let there be a quick diagnosis and some meds for getting better very swiftly. So thankful she is going to the vet.

I'm up and about and getting ready for
daughter to come over - going for lunch and/or to any other ideas that hit us.

GOOD MORNING...
I wanted to come on here and find out how Liesl is doing this morning. I see Lynn has taken her to the Vet. Glad she is getting professional help for what seems to be a serious matter. Hope it is just a virus and an antibiotic will get her back on the road to recovery. Hate that this has happened to such a sweet dog and her Mommy!

wvgal_dana said...

Mema Jo enjoy your time with Jenny ( :

I have comments from the old thread. I decided to wait and put on this new thread.

wvgal_dana said...

Wanda do you know if the Columbine seeds Lolly sent. Is that a perinatal?

Costume Lady said...

I will be VERY busy this week, getting the shop finished up in readiness for customers, Oct. 1. Wish me a better season than last...PARTY CITY took about 50% of my sales away:( They sell the same costumes, at a much higher price and theirs are rolled up in a package, full of wrinkles and I iron or steam all of mine. Go figure!

magpie said...

We're on it, Wanda:

WISHING YOU A BETTER SEASON !!

Costume Lady said...

Yes, DANA, the columbines are perennial. You can plant them NOW if you haven't planted them yet. They will come up in the Spring. Sometimes, if they are fresh seeds, they need the cold of the Winter to make them sprout. Just don't forget where they are...put in a marker of some sort. I love them, they are so sunny and beautiful. Did you get the purple ones planted yet?

Costume Lady said...

AH, thanks, Margy♥

wvgal_dana said...

Wanda we got the business on the prayer list. Yes your are so nicely done with no wrinkles. You would think people would want to pay less and enjoy the no wrinkles.

I mentioned above in a comment Is the Columbine seeds Lolly gave us a perinatal?

magpie said...

I'll be planting my columbine seeds also, Wanda...

I picked two nice ripe tomatoes this morning....17 green ones to go ! I might go for Fried Green Tomatoes, Dana ☺

Time to shake a couple of legs and get the day going...there is a James pick-up in my future later on.

Best wishes for a Good, Safe, Healthy, and Joyful Day, Everyone

xoxo ♥

hedgie said...

No real indication of what IS wrong....but they are giving Liesl IV fluids (she was "a little dehydrated"), and doing lab work. If labs don't tell them anything speicific, they will do an x-ray of her abdomen. They will call this afternoon. She lost a good pound since last week.

Shirley, Suzi's egg story is hysterical!!!! I bet that neighbor is scratching his/her head!

Mema Jo said...

Thanks for the Liesl update
Prayers for her to be all better!

magpie said...

ok Lynn...are you comfortable with the doc's skills here ?
Hoping to hear more...
are you two home ??

hedgie said...

DanaWV---both of my wireless mice have on/off switches.

Wanda, you need to do some newspaper advertising saying that your costumes are all pressed and hung!!!! And say "compare our prices to the local competitors!!!!"

Thanks for all your prayers. I am worried. Met the new vet this time...she's the third one in the practice.

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Honk!!

Good morning everybody!

Praying for Liesl and hugs to you Hedgie!

hedgie said...

Rained a little on my way home.....now VERY cloudy and dark...think it's going to DUMP.

PA Nana said...

Beep! I don't hate the Cowboys, just do no like them.

Lynn, sure hope Liesl will be okay.
We all love little Liesl.

Lynne, what a mess you have! I just wiped 2 SBs off our siding. Not sure if I killed them but they'll have to try again.

Saw a hummingbirg this morning on my neighbors feeder. She placed her feeder so I could see it when I was at my kitchen sink. Haven't seen them at ours lately and am about to take them down.

Our visitors left this morning and I'm TIRED! Such busy bees those 2 are and we "older" folks have a hard time keeping up with them.

Teresa did plant my hyacinth bulbs. Can't wait to see the red ones. Now I must plant the columbine seeds from Wanda & Lolly.
Next spring will be so lovely!

Think I'll go take a nap. Will try to catch up later. ♥♥♥♥

wvgal_dana said...

Hedgie-Lynn/e you know we are there for you and Liesl. Praying she will soon be home with you and on your lap HUGS ♥♥ ^j^

wvgal_dana said...

I just looked up "Texas Gold Columbine it says it is a perennial.

Yes Diann not as young as we once were. ( :

magpie said...

Wanda did answer you about that, its being a perennial...check back a little, okay ?

ttfn xoxo

hedgie said...

Margy, she is an in-patient for now.

wvgal_dana said...

It does say tht they only get to a height of 18- 24 inches. Humm I thought they would be taller than that.

Spacing 18-24inch

Judie said...

Lynn, will continue to send healing thoughts to Liesl. Really so sorry you both are going through this.

Wanda, do you put an ad in the local paper? Grocery store? Near campus? A bigger sign at the corner of the street? Darth and I missed it first time around.

How's GG?

Shirley, congratulations to Will on full time employment. More money and I hope benefits.

Have a nice afternoon Lori. There were a couple of other faculty there that like and a former student (Secret Service type).

Hi DanaWV.

Diann, glad the visit was a good one. Now you can relax and rest up so you can beep a whole bunch tonight.

Guess I better find something to do as I cannot concentrate. Way too much honking going on.

wvgal_dana said...

Thanks Margy with you help I now see where Wanda commented. ty

hedgie said...

Yes, I felt comfortable with the new vet. Glad that they got in a third, because they are always SO busy.

hedgie said...

Thanks for reminding me, Judie---I forgot to tell Shirley congrats on Will's job going full-time! Since he has health-care bennies, hope that means he has others as well!

Oh-oh: news conference coming up about the extent of the Washington Monument earthquake damage, and future plans......

movin said...

We are in a moderate weather period in So Cal right not....

Foggy morning, partly cloudy afternoon (mostly cloudy yesterday), humid warm afternoon somewhere around 70°. Reminds me of certain times of the year when I lived on the coast near Del Mar.

[:~D] Jim

hedgie said...

Jim, sounds similar to here right now. Fog, sun, rain, sun....74 here at the moment---until the sun goes behind the dark clouds again!!!

wvgal_dana said...

I wrote Steve about the STILL CAM. Asking him if he knew anything about when they might get the still cam working?

Here is Steve's reply:
Hi,

the cam is being powered by a solar panel exclusively right now. We had a hard line power source that had to be removed. Until we are able to establish another hard line, when we have rainy days the solar panel can not keep up with the power needs of the camera. We are working on it, but as always, remember that the guys that do the work have full time job responsibilities beyond the cam. I too hope it will be resolved soon.

Steve

movin said...

Hi, Hedgie. I see the WE nest has a visitor now. I think it might be a Peregrine Falcon.

Foggy there too.

[:~D] Jim

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

So basically when the cam doesn't work, it is God's fault for not giving us more sunshine! Okay, I will take that.

Dear God,
More sunshine please?
Thanks

Lori O. said...

Thank you Steve for your reply to WV DANA.

We really appreciate you taking the time to let us know!

Lori O. said...

LYNN, many prayers already for Leisl. Great that she's gettings fluids and the lab work. You'll know more this evening and feel much better. ((Big Hug))

Such a gray day. Good time for a nap so I can see some of the game tonight!

If DIANN checks in again, would someone please ask her where she got the RED HYACINTHS? She says she can't keep up to read back on so many posts. In case you do get to read some Di, I understand! Plus you new meds can make it difficult to even stay awake let alone read! Glad Teresa was able to get the Red Hyacinths in the ground for you.

Lori O. said...

LOL Sharon.

NatureNut said...

Hope it's a good Monday for all!
Cloudy and almost 80° here.

Prayers for Liesl & Lynn. When you mentioned last night she wasn't drinking much, I thought there might be a dehydration problem. She's in a good place, & hope they fix here ASAP!
Prayers for Margy's friend's dog, Harley.
Hope all our People feel better soon--I wish GG could be seen right away. And Good Luck on your shop season, Wanda. You do such good work!

Hoda said...

LYNN Prayers for LIESL

LORI I wished I could cheer for a new team called the REDSKINS COWBOYS...the BEST plays from either team...but ALAS I don't think this is possible.
I have to go out to supper tonight, 5:30 my time which is 8:30 EDT...so I will miss part of the game...I will however read the blog the minute I come back so you all BE NICE

hedgie said...

Thanks, Loretta. BTW---forgot to say that Sherry's company is being so kind to arrange the apartment for them. I guess traveling helps them step back andget perspective, but sure must make it hard to accomplish much on the home front.

Judie said...

Hoda, please be sure to take ear plugs to dinner. You might need them to drown out the honking. Have fun.

New team? New name -- Redcows? Redboys? Skinboys? BoyToys?

Never seen a red hyacinth. Would be beautiful

Checked and nothing new on Hope.

JudyEddy said...

All caught up with the blog YEAH ME hahaha now off to work

Judie said...

Judy, yes Wanda and Gene have a costume shop that is open only for Halloween. Last year my husband went in to find a Darth Vader costume. That's how the three of them met.

No complex, please. Think most everyone is having a busy day.

hedgie said...

Liesl update:
Blood work okay. X-ray negative for any abnormality----but does show a TOTALLY empty stomach and bowel. They will keep it that way until morning, give her continuous IV hydration, an antibiotic, anti-diarrheal and anti-nausea med. They will give her some special food in the AM and see how she tolerates it and call me then.

hedgie said...

Sharon, you put a nice spin on the camera issue! I don't think this was new info---he explained it that way before, didn't he??

hedgie said...

Love your name combos, Judie!!!

Found the RED HYACINTHS on Brecks.com! Called Red Rocket. Now is the time to order!!! 5 bulbs for $9.99.

Lynne2 said...

checking in from work to see how Liesle made out today. I see the vet is keeping her for supportive care. Nothing on blood work or rads....frustration. You almost WANT to see something so you know what you are dealing with. Or, if only she could talk...Hopefully after her tummy rests and she is hydrated, she'll feel better. Fingers crossed that she keeps her food down tomorrow!

hedgie said...

Wanda, you need a website for Countryside!!!! Or at least a Facebook page!! Bet Denise could do that for you!

hedgie said...

DanaMo----saw the 9/11 commerative gathering at the school in the paper this morning! It was NOT big enough to make out anyone, but it looks like kids older than kinders!

Lynne2 said...

you'll never guess what happened this morning. The new car, the one that was running so great? NOt so much today. Lacking power on even little hills, and engine light came on.

Gotta run...busy busy!

hedgie said...

I need a nap! BBL.

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Good to hear that Liesl's tests are negative. Maybe just a little bug?

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Honk.

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Have we ran Lolly off with our honking?

NatureNut said...

Forgot to give today's nature report----one Zebra swallowtail and TWO Monarchs at butterfly bush.

Lynn, maybe Liesl got some kind of stomach virus!? Sounds like what they're doing should really help.
BBL, gotta run to store & redoing hummer food for the stragglers.
(Need to shovel some mulch Mr. Helper put in the wrong bed ☺)

paula eagleholic said...

Dana, thanks for the update from Steve. Hope they can get it hardwired soon...it's just this dern weather!

Hi Paula.

Hi Loretta. No butterflies here for at least a week. Milk weed is done for but Lantana and butterfly bush are hanging on.

Honk back atcha, Sharon.

Judie said...

Lynne, I do hope the dealer will fix whatever is wrong with the car. Just wish you and Steve could catch a positive break and soon.

Lolly said...

I hear a bunch of silly geese once again and I do believe one road runner. lol

Nope you have not run me off, I have just been busy.

Lynn, (((hugs)))! I know you are really upset about Liesl. Glad you got her right in this morning.

HODA, I have got to say you had me laughing hard at your typos. We all makes some of the funniest. I was laughing out loud at yours. First the "cought" a watch then your correction of bought a "wath". And, I did see your third correction! Like I said, we have all made them, thus the momster dictionary.

Lolly said...

We had a great time in Dallas. Had lots of good food, the kids played, Jack and Michael had a couple of home repairs and they accomplished those tasks. Then we watched a little football before heading home.

Zach wanted me tending to him at bed time, so bathe him I did. Also read three books before putting him to bed. Also, talked with him about his taking a trip soon with us. I think it may work out. He has never traveled with us like the other two. Want to take him for a couple of nights to east Texas for a steam engine train ride.

Lolly said...

Oh no, Lynne!!! Not more car trouble!!!! Well, you do have that 3 month warrenty, right?

hedgie said...

Good grief.....that roadrunner woke me up. Beep...beep....crazy bird.

Lynne, GRRRRRRR. What a PIA! Have you called yet??

Lolly, a short trip with Zach sounds like a good plan. Gradual adjustment is best!

hedgie said...

Yep, I am still a little worried about LIesl, but I am not missing her TOO much! Needed a break from the sickness results---ugh!!

Lolly said...

I hear you there, Lynn! You were having to deal with some awful clean up!

Kay said...

Better work in my daily input while I have the stamina to do so.

LYNN, so sorry about dear little Leisl, but surely the Vet will fix her right up ! Too bad CAROLYN has the agony of an ear infection---OUCH ! All is well with the port--nurse cleaned the site and changed the dressing this morning. This time she was able to use it for the blood draw and that's a blessing ! I'm feeling a little better with each passing day and thanks to you and all the others who've sweetly asked about my welfare.

JUDYE, not quite time for Ensure unless the blood work indicates I'm not getting all nutritional needs. I'll keep it in mind though.

SHIRLEY, I don't recall Sgt. Bob Douglas--what are your memories of him ?

hedgie said...

Now wouldn't this just ruin your whole day?
Toilet explodes

Hope she is okay.

hedgie said...

Hey, Kay!!! Good to see you. Glad you are gaining strength and stamina! Has your plant bloomed yet? Have you found out what it is?

NatureNut said...

We have another fan--Chinese Swan Goose!!!

Kay said...

MARGY, MARGY, your ☼hi☼ pal is still around, just not as often for now. The New England Aster is beautiful ! Love the pic of your dear "little" sister, she's a cutie ! Your nephew is, too ! Thinking of you and James "The Kidster" as you enjoy part of the afternoon together, fun, fun, fun !

WANDA, you must know how deeply concerned we all are for GG. Prayers are constant !

JUDIE, your name combos have me ROFLMAO ! Let's hear it for the BoyToys !

Kay said...

LYNN, the plant is looking very healthy, but the pods have not yet opened up. I'm hoping I can get identification once they do so.

Oh, my, an exploding toilet ! Wouldn't that just scare the pee waddin' outta ya ? Yikes !

NatureNut said...

BTW, got a funny toilet story. One morning when entering Chelsea, we noticed the seat was cracked all the way through on one side. I put a Band-Aid on it, but if you weren't properly seated, you could get a pinch! Then I saw a 'puter ad for lady who finally started losing weight due to embarassment! She broke the toilet seat & got pinched!!!! WE DIDN'T DO IT!!

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Now, I am sure that was really scary for the woman with the exploding toilet but I have to tell you, that is funny!

Lolly said...

That would be very startling, to say the least! Definitely would constipate you!

Judie said...

Yep, let's hear it for the BoyToys! Honk, honk, honk.

Hi Kay. Glad the port stayed clean and you didn't need another puncture. Also glad the visiting nurse seems to be agreeable to you. Visit when you fell like it.

Oooooo! What a smart Chinese Swan goose.

LYNN, Glad you get a rest from poo pickup tonight, and that Leisl is being looked after by the vets. More prayers for the sweet little girl. Woof!

Got a call from the vet who treated Bobby today to say that they have LeRoy, who has been adopted, hospitalized with a severe respiratory infection. They were checking on Bobby's symptoms assuming he has the same thing.

PAULA, loved the Jesus hates the Cowboys shirt...crude but FUNNY!

Everyone, LYNN, JUDIE, LYNNE had some great ideas for WANDA to generate business with the costume shop. I agree Wanda with all of them. Signage, Internet and Advertising, the way to go! Prayers for GG. How is she today?

Wonderful hearing from our KAY!!! Get your strength up KAY and come back soon. We miss you!

Lori, we have been inundated with kitten and cats with URIs recently.

Just had to break up a fight between Daisy and Puddles. They were eating and I ran Joker's food up the steps and no sooner did I do so when I heard all hell break loose down here. I'm pretty sure Puddles tried to get to Daisy's food.
