Good morning Judie and Lori! I'm up after a good night sleep! Wow was I tired.
Great first day of school. I stagger the start so we have a small group for the first 3 days and then the whole class Thursday and Friday. Not that my class is large. I actually had 3 drop. Twins that were moving to the area ending up in Harrisburg instead and another family, the father just lost his job...had to put the student in public school due to money.
So bummed the cam is still down, I bet these cool mornings bring our friends to the nest.
I had to take Kate to the ER last night and didn't get home until midnight!
We were outside watching the vulture chick who had branched to a bigger tree and when we started walking back to the house, she clutched her chest in pain. She couldn't even speak. Then her head started throbbing and she got sick to her stomach. Of course, I'm thinking heart attack, so I gave her two 81 mg aspirin to chew. She wouldn't let me call the ambulance so we drove to the ER. The did an EKG and all the heart attack tests and couldn't find anything. Then they did a CT scan to make sure it wasn't a blood clot in her lung since she's been having sharp pain in her left lung this past week.
So... can I ask you to please say prayers for Kate that appointments this week at a Pulminologist and Cardiologist find and resolve whatever is wrong? Thank you! ♥♥♥

OMGosh Lori that's awful! I will say a prayer for Kate today. How scary!
We have one so far who has some great "one liners"! LOL! Gotta love kindergarten!

Glad I came back. Lori, that is really scary. Been down that road with Darth several times. Sending serious prayers that Kate's tests will provide answers and treatment will be immediate and successful.
DanaMo, glad you had a good first day with the youngsters. Hope the second day is even better.

Having my coffee and trying to get the cobwebs out of my brain. Read the comments from last night and early this morning. You all sound so knowledgeable and compassionate. I will just say "ditto" to all of your advice and kind words.
Right now my poor brain is being invaded with the sounds of cartoons.
Kathryn talked to Hunter again this morning and took notes to use when she calls the principal.
Hmm, Pepsi, the kitty next door, seems quite interested in watching my yard. Birds?
And squirrels seem to have taken an interest in my finch feeder. one of the socks has been ripped. Need to find a better spot to hang it.

I want to put in a prayer request. There is a guy that I talk to on Twitter, Kris Anderson. He has cancer and it is not looking good. His cancer markers are back up again. He has 2 small children and a beautiful wife. He did a video last year to Train's Marry Me for his wife's birthday, beautiful video. Anyway, he was on Oprah when she was in Australia. He is in the fight for his life and I know the prayers around here are powerful. His blog is:

Prayers and best wishes for Kate, Lori. I think you have enough to do without reading all of the posts. There are times when any one of us just can't read everything. But there is always someone to step in and respond to another's needs. That is one of the many good things about this blog.

Lori, so sorry to hear about Kate's incident. Sure hope they don't find anything serious, but that they do find an explanation! How scary for you both. How young is Kate? So glad you knew the "CHEW" the ASA routine!!

LOL, moutain-top cabin?? Been there, done that....the ponderosa was on top of the mt. Now the cabin is near the foot of the same mt. Nope-----it's beach area for me! If the economy would improve so that I could get for this place what it appraised for 11 yrs. ago, I would move down there permanently!
Good morning! Sitting here drinking my coffee. Annie woke me this morning, first time she just wanted petting. She purred...in the middle of the night. Then a second time at a horrible hour and she wanted food. I refused! Then a third time wanting out. Grrrr! But, when she slept through the night I was worried. LOL

Dana...always started the first day of kinder with an average of 20 students. The first hour of the first day I would have help but after that just me. Never had an aide. Did have some high school helpers, but sometimes they were more of a hindrance than help.
Woke to two claps of thunder, but no rain!!!
Have friends on a hill top in Virginia. They used to have a home right on Chesapeake bay. When a storm came and their home flooded they headed to the mountains! Know that they were happy this week!
Got more chastisement this AM about the dog on the interstate. I'm about ready to give up expressing my opinions. People should realize that opinions are like ---holes: everyone has one. It doesn't make anybody necessarily wrong. Free speech is only allowed when it's politically correct, I guess.

You asked about the new puter---can't say these numbers mean anything to me, but, it's a HP Pavillion, Windows 7, 640GB Hard Drive, DVD Burner... I have a nice big flat screen monitor so didn't need that component--my laptop was on a docking station and hooked up to the monitor, a full size keyboard and mouse. This puter came with a nice new keyboard and mouse. Get this..."Computer, Product of Mexico"/"Mouse and Keyboard, Products of China". What's wrong with this picture ? ARGGGGGHHHH !

Kay, on Sunday I heard a call on the scanner that a motorist called 911 about a dog on the interstate. She didn't stop....and it made me angry. I posted a rhetorical "why" on the animal advocates FB page....and got clobbered for it.
Oh, yes....made overseas...very maddening, isn't it? But sure glad you have a new fast machine!

I've been working on Capt. Gene's lap top all morning...it is so screwed up. I think I finally got his facebook cleaned up...it was very weird. I would try to get my facebook page and after a moment or two, it would jump over to Gene's facebook page???

I thought she would go back down, to OBX, but not this soon. Hope she finds some sea treasures. She and Denise love 'Sea Glass', green, blue and red...hard to find.
