LB..that noise at the cam is probably an adult eagle. Usually it is followed up by a visit to the nest but you have to get up before daybreak to catch the sight.

It's not guaranteed but...

Good night Costume Lady.

So much going on here today and tonight.

Squirrels eating strawberries and tomatoes. Capt. Gene's non-malignant THING fell off (such good news), GG's leg has healed (more good news), Lynn has a deer and babies in her yard and heard from Christie, Shirley was frozen by a squirrel, Paula has had a sudden change of plan, Dana may have taken up beer drinking, Diann had a wonderful day birding, the TRAIN squad had a good time, ♫♫♫ and the beat goes on.

We had an unexpected change of plan today, also. Found out our neighbor died on Thursday. Not unexpected. Really nice man, age 88. Found out viewing was tonight. We went.

Then we decided to go out to eat and try a new place (ala Mema Jo). We had two people tell us the place is excellent. Now the saga begins.

Had to change tables and no one brought silverware or menus. Darth's water was refilled with seltzer water. Rolls brought without butter. Darth's salad was supposed to have bleu cheese dressing but had oil & vinegar. Salad sent back. Returned with crumbled bleu cheese on top of the oil & vinegar. Entrees brought moments after the salad. Waitress wants to know if everything is okay. Well, no, no exactly. Owner arrives at table, apologizes. Offers free dessert. I ask for two scoops of cookies and cream ice cream. Waitress returns. No cookies and cream. Check arrives. Incorrect total. My chocolate ice cream was tasty.

SHOULD HAVE GONE TO DAIRY QUEEN!

Going to catch the news in a few minutes. BBL

Guess I've just ended my medical treatment YES IT HELPED THE PAIN and just go on narcotics. I have fought the fight and have FAILED!!!! now I'll be like most dizzy people on them things.
Just got my bill for what the grand ole insurance paid for my trip to my doctor. Remember they have to use an X-ray machine to guide the needle in. The shot is not like a steroid shot. Different medicine into the nerve...boy does it help was thankful for it. Bill insurance paid theirs $88.43 I get to pay $1,334.11. I'll have to call insurance Monday (oh that makes my day for Monday grr) they didn't pay anything on "the procedure--$889.00 and $423.00. Says they do not cover these two charges when provided for this diagnosis. Well I have papers from before when they covered it. How in the H is he suppose to do the procedure--those jerks he can paralyze me if he doesn't use the X-ray machine---even anaesthesiologist at city hospital said don't let any one do this without using an X-ray machine. I been going there since 2006. Not like they haven't been billed and paid it before. Nope it didn't go to my deductible.

I'm going to have to go live under a bridge....

wvgal_dana said...

Who was it that just brought that 6pack?????????? SEND IT MY WANT----I'LL JUST PINCH MY NOSE AND LET IT ROLL DOWN THE THROAT. :(

Ain't LIFE GRAND?

1st you call your insurance tell them what is going to be done with codes...they say go ahead--they left out --- oh yeah were going to screw you---potty mouth

wvgal_dana said...

Come on Judie figure out a criminal case against that resturant....let her rip...tell us the details of how your going to do it?

hedgie said...

Emmett Smith gave a very nice speech.
Our boys "done good", didn't Lolly???

hedgie said...

Judie, what a catastrophe that meal was. Too bad. Sorry about your neighbor. May he RIP.
Dana, make sure bills are resubmitted with same procedure codes and diagnosis codes as were used the time they DID pay it!

hedgie said...

At least 50% of the time, incorrect codes by office personnel are to blame.

hedgie said...

Well, Margy----you've already been at work for 25 mins. now. :( Hope it's a peaceful shift for you.

Judie said...

Well Dana, I think before I prepare a criminal case against the restaurant, I would rather prepare a case against your insurance company.

After you talk to someone at the insurance company, follow up with a telephone call AND an email to the president (or CEO) of the insurance company. Then write a letter to the editor of the local newspaper and the Washington Post. Negative publicity can work miracles.

I am so very sorry you are having so much trouble both with the pain and now the insurance company. Will send a prayer and lots of hugs.

Judie said...

Oh, and Dana, get the names of everyone you talk with.

Judie said...

Dana, listen to Lynn.

Yes, the dinner out was a disaster. However, we could only laugh it was so ridiculous. I am going to inflict permanent injuries on the two people who recommended that restaurant.

I hear the sandperson calling my name.

Turning my light off but will leave the night light on for others coming in, headed back the hallway, to the tub, the shower, or out to star gaze. Andy, please set our alarm. Pleasant dreams.

Lolly said...

Well, now....they saved the best for last. You rock Emmitt! Where is Norma when I need her?????? lol Enjoyed the program this evening.

hedgie said...

FYI---for any who are still working...if you become sick or injured and go on "sick leave" (paid while you are off), the federal government has determined the number of days allowed off based on diagnosis and procedure codes. Even complications are factored into their formulas. Most people don't know this.

hedgie said...

Oh...hospitalization is the same way. The number of days allowed is determmined by government-set rules, too.

Lolly said...

Have been trying to catch up on the blog. Think I got lost on the split! Have been watching TV while trying to finish tee shirts and finish my glass of wine. lol

Was lurking on here this evening and also on FB. I'm tired & sleepy.
Our dinner was really good - The Main up - Noisy in the main room so they seated us off to a more like private table for 3 - that way we could hear ourselves talk.
Judie - you really need to name the restaurant and the location. Don't like those situations. Hubby and I do the same as you and Frank by making it a joke - like "I bet you get gravy all over your mashed potatoes" He is not a gravy lover.

Mema Jo said...

Dana I hope you get things taken care of on your insurance. Sometimes the processors just don't have common sense.

Lolly liked your beach photos. Laurel and the boys pics - I can feel the love!

hedgie said...

Time for me to head for the tub. Hope everyone gets a good nights rest---except for Margy!
Lolly, make sure the wine doesn't affect your t-shirt artwork!!!
Prayers and peace.

Lolly said...

Finished the t-shirts and finished the wine. Now I was having a bowl of ice cream and Annie would not let me enjoy it! She sat her licking her chops as I ate. Grrr!

By the way, she is doing just great. Last night I sat down to pet her and she wanted to play. She actually chased me. I loved it! It is great to see her acting so well!!!!

It is my turn now to head down the hall! Night all! Sweet dreams!

Lolly said...

Here not her!!!

Mema Jo said...

Yes, Lolly - spilled wine on t-shirt leaves its mark.

Nighty-nite to all those hitting the hay.I know it's late, but Blogger wouldn't take my password---aarrgghh!
First time on 'puter today. Was outside, then felt yucky in afternoon--had a Panda nap from about 4-9:30PM!!! Ready to rock and roll!
Gotta look up the Sturgis street cam spots---my SIL is there w/some friends & he took 'puter!
Talking to daughter---she just got home from 2 weeks in Europe. Transportaion was a bust---cancelled flights, etc. She said it was the "Trains, Planes, & Auto." kind of trip. She was in Amsterdam for 1 week, then they went to Rx Co. in Sienna, Italy by way of Florence. It was Tuscan country. Returning was the problem.Bad weather, so flight from Florence got them to Paris, not Amsterdam, so the took train to A!. She got to Atlanta last night, but no plane to Austin 'til today! I'd like to spend a couple days at Atlanta airport---has about 8 levels!! She said Florence Airport is even larger--like a giant mall!

Costume Lady said...

I spent some time (too much) in the Atlanta Airport. We were delayed there for a reason which eludes me right now, but we almost missed boarding our Cruise Ship in Miami, because of the Atlanta delay. Can you believe they actually delayed the ship's departure until we got there? It wasn't just me and Gene, there was a group of us traveling with our tour guide.

Headed for bed...

GOOD NIGHT MY FRIENDS

Judie, hope you and Darth find another new restaurant!

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, Everyone,
Dropping in to say goodnight.

Lynn, thanks for the advice about my ankle. Did go shopping with Hubby--find that the more I walk on my ankle, the better it feels. Think it might be arthritis, all right. Once it gets warmed up, it's not too bad. Once I sit down for a while and don't move, it feels painful until it gets warmed up again. The swelling has gone down some, so will continue tonight and tomorrow with the ice and heat.

Dana, I'm sure Lynn is right about the codes for your procedure. Dig up the old paperwork, and give them a call and compare notes with them.
Sure am glad it seems to have worked for you! That's fantastic!

Judie, guess the only thing you COULD do was laugh about your dinner! Sorry for the comedy of errors. Sorry, too, to hear about your nice neighbor. ((Hugs))!

Well, think I'll call it a day. Leaving the night light and the porch light on for others. The eye-scanner security and Dana's thumbprint-scanner security are enabled. Prayers said for everyone, especially those in need of healing. Hope everyone sleeps well. God bless, and goodnight! Will talk to you tomorrow. Love all of you! :o]

stronghunter said...

Good morning!

I guess everyone is sleeping in this morning. It is very nice outdoors now.

I was pleased to see a cardinal eating at my squirrel feeder. I have two corncob-type things that I put out for the squirrels-- Revenge of the birds.

Dana, I do hope you get your insurance issues straightened out. Make calls. Take names. Keep a notebook. Those codes can be a mess.

I need to do the same thing. I have a mammogram bill that is still not straightened out, but not the amount of money you're talking about.

Judie, so sorry about your neighbor. Your restaurant visit was definitely a Comedy of Errors.

Well, this is my last week of freedom. I go back to work on Tuesday of next week.

Our weather predictions seem to be amuck lately. Supposed to get down to 55° this morning, but it never dipped below 65.

Anyway we are in cloud and fog at the moment. But it should burn off and warm up into the mid 70;s later.

Loretta, when I looked at the Sturgis cam a few days ago, there wee only 2 bikes in view....and the cam angle did not show the broad streetscape that we saw before. Don't know whether I had the right cam or not.

Did I ever tell you I used to have my own bike??

stronghunter said...

No, Lynn, I don't think you have told us about your bike.

Good early afternoon, everyone.

Jo, glad you had a nice dinner out -- really!

Found a new restaurant, Loweeda. It has pretty good quality control. I am fixing BLT tonight and bbq ribs tomorrow night.

Lolly, glad you finished the t-shirts and the wine. Wishing everyone a happy Camp Hawkwood. Also very happy Annie has some spunk these days.

Speaking of airports, did anyone else see the report that the images from the body scanners that make you naked have been stored somewhere? I forget the location. So much for travelers being assured the privacy of their private parts.

Jo and Wanda, it is a lovely sunny Sunday here, also. Not so much humidity but I think that is supposed to change.

Shirley, plan your last days of freedom with great care so you enjoy each and everyone. I'll not be far behind you entering the classroom.

Andy, hope the ankle is better.

Mornin' Jim.

Glad you had a nice time last night, Paula. Enjoy today, also.

LYNN IS A BIKER BABE!

Off to make squash casserole. Only gotten squash from the garden so far and two tomatoes.

paula eagleholic said...

Lynn, don't recall any bike stories!

Kids are off to the Inner Harbor.

Warm out there today, not too humid, nice breeze. Had a nice breakfast on the deck. The hummers even showed up :)

Sturgis is the 9th to 15th of August

hedgie said...

I'm back. A few phone calls and a couple of chores later......
Yep, I used to have a bike but I wasn't a very good biker babe. I make a better rider than operator! It was a Kawasaki 150...and frankly it scared me to death. Never had it on the highway----only on the country roads. Don't think I ever had it over 45 mph. Now as a rider---once was with my BIL when he opened his big bike up to 110 (for locals--on Arden-Nollville Rd.)!

hedgie said...

Thanks for the Sturgis link, Jo---that's better than the one I hhad. Never thought to look at favs on PC for it!

Mema Jo said...

Lynn - you can take spills on the country roads faster then on the paved roadways. I know what you mean though -that it's safer to the fact no cars around.

I didn't ever tell you about my biker friend Murf the Surf. I went out riding with him once and we passed by one of my students, an 8th grader. I saw her do a double-take as we passed by. Yep, I did hear about it at school the next day. But I survived it. I was probably about 23 at the time.

That is the extent of my bike riding.

hedgie said...

That's a good story, Shirley!
Jo----exactly!! Little to no traffic on the back roads in those days (late 70's/early 80's)!
Working on slides---again/still. Tell Mr. Ed that I'm coming down the home stretch!!!

hedgie said...

Well, another no-win race for my boy...argh!

Lolly said...

Good Sunday afternoon! Another hot day. Everything outside is cooking. Yuk! Church this morning. Our minister and family went to Ely, MN for vacation. They went to the N. Amer Bear Center and the brought me a Lily and HOpe mouse pad. I was thrilled. Hope is so tiny on it!

Have been out watering and now need to do some floor mopping. Jack vacumed, I do the mopping. Better do my share!

hedgie said...

Lolly....had completely forgotten to ask what Lily sent you!!!! :) Bet it's a cute pic of baby Hope.

Up to 89° here....humidity is rising.

IF on schedule, my younguns should be taxiing across the Cancun tarmac right about now. Flight is due in at Dulles at 8:18.

Watching a show about Moose on Discovery. OMG---86% of moose calves die. So sad :(

stronghunter said...

Yep, Judie. You didn't know about my wild streak, did you?

stronghunter said...

That is a high percentage of mortality, Lynn. Do they usually have only one calf?

hedgie said...

Newfoundland has the highest moose-car accidents......avg. 2/day. 800 last year. "Not many people live to tell about it." Body mass of a 1000# moose is right at car hood level.

hedgie said...

Yes, Judie, but twins aren't uncommon.

hedgie said...

I'm always surprised how many of the deer here have twins.

hedgie said...

Pook has new pics up from last month.

Lolly said...

I am going to New England soon. Gonna find me a moose! lol Two years ago we never saw one. Went out late in the evening to where they are found....found tracks in the mud, but no moose. This time will be different...I am determined!

Lynn, on the mouse pad...it is cute picture of Lily under a log on her back and the cutest little Hope is sitting there looking at her. Love it!

Ministers son who is 13 was telling me all about the bears there at the center. Said that Lucky, the young one, loves to entertain his audience. He also told me how they feed the bears grapes. He was thrilled. I am going there some day.
Determined about that too!!

hedgie said...

Christie will have a week of training in MN in Sept. but it's not anywhere close to Ely. :(

hedgie said...

According to flight tracker, plane took off half an hour late....but arrival is showing as 2 mins. early....go figure! Looks like they are approaching bad weather near the SW FL coast.....

Lolly said...

Too bad, Lynn. You could have gone to visit her and go to Ely. lol MN is a state I have never been. My sister, Sharon, and her dubby Dan are going there at the end of this month. They are making it to all the states.

You are keeping an eye on them!

Hi, Everyone,
Getting here VERY late. It has been a busy day! Happy to report that my ankle is doing much better today. Almost all the swelling is gone, and it no longer hurts. The big toe on that foot is still sore, but not as bad. The joint at the ball of my foot is tender, but am doing quite a bit better.

Forgot to mention yesterday that I got the results from my mammogram in the mail yesterday, and it was absolutely OK. That's always good news!

Judie, I hope you get the answers you're looking for at the doctor's tomorrow. Glad you've made a list!

Hubby tried one of the pills the neurologist gave him to control the shaking in his hands, and he was SOOO sleepy from it! The Meclizine he's taking for the vertigo already makes him very tired, and he's taking another Rx for blood pressure that can make you sleepy. He says he'd rather shake than feel so "drugged"! He slept most of the afternoon! Not good. Says he won't take the new med during the week, when he has to drive to work on the freeway--too scary!

Well, have a movie I'd like to watch. Going to leave the night light and the porch light on. The eye-scanner security and Dana's thumbprint-scanner security are both enabled. Prayers said for everyone--especially those in need of healing. Sleep well, everyone, and I'll talk to you tomorrow. God bless, and goodnight! Love you guys! :o]

Morning all! Busy weekend for us, haven't had time to catch up on the blog. Sure hope everyone is well!

Helped tag some monarchs on Saturday at Irvine. That was pretty cool! Two of them were mine from here that I took in for everyone to watch develop and they were kind enough to emerge first thing Saturday morning for tag and release program Saturday afternoon!

Found a wing feather of a Barred Owl while walking the dogs this morning!

Excellent butterfly info site
Butterfly Fun Facts

Heading out to do some yard work at neighbors new farm. Have a great day, BBL, and drink lots of water. Looks to be another hot and sticky gross week again :(

Morning, all.

The accident in Eburg was a freak accident...lady was backing up into a parking spot and she hit the accelerator, slammed into the suv behind her, which in turn hit the pedestrians trying to cross the road. All Emmitsburg residents, except the lady driving the suv.

Glad to hear we had a visitor this morning!

Now we need a lovely Monday morning thread!

Lolly, I don't watch any of the preseason games!

Good morning! Glad someone is spotting an adult eagle in the nest. Maybe someday I will wake early enough to check the cam, but I seriouly doubt it.

Have had 9 days now of over 100 and they said in the paper we are half way through our heat wave. Oh, yuk!!!

Mits posted on fb that today is Maggie's 4th birthday! Happy Birthday to Maggie!

Thought for sure there would be a new thread this morning but alas...

Heading out shortly to do a little work but not much. My iris have suffered this year. Do not know the problem so I am out to do some serious cleaning up in that bed.

Have a great week! And an even better day!

Supposed to be hot here today, too, Lolly.

I have to keep going out to chase off the grackles. I may have to bring in the feeders.

Ok, I'm caught up!

Paula, certainly was a tragic event---the lady at Cowley is 89 y.o. That does not bode well for survival. :(

Lynne---I guess I have been living under a rock----I had NO idea they could tag a butterfly!!! Cool.

Margy, have fun this week. You deserve a week off! When does Morgan Co. start school? It's the 23rd here.

Lolly, glad you got to see your Tony!

Article in paper this AM---in Alaska yesterday, a Seattle-bound flight take-off had to be aborted when a poor eagle was sucked into an engine. :(

stronghunter said...

Brought in the two birdfeeders. The corn for squirrels is still out there, and there are seeds that have been knocked on the ground, but I am weary of grackles.

Here's a good news item: The Wall Street Journal's auto reviewer said that the new Cadillac CTS coupe makes German rivals look like taxi's!!!! And is much more fun to drive. GO GM!!

OMG, Blogger finally honored my Password!! I thought I may have to email a comment to a generous soul & have them copy & paste!!

Good Monday to all. Sorry I mised a big bird in the nest.We have 1 or maybe 2 tiny birds in wren house. Both parents doing food drops, but Ms. sometimes stays inside. Maybe there are other eggs that didn't hatch. Think we heard little chirps from inside. Won't know anything until chick(s) are large enough to show those open mouths at the door.
Hummers are zipping around, but no frenzy today.
We were away most of Sunday~~~went way down past Solomons to the car paint shop to pick up Fubby's '68 Buick Skylark. A fitting late lunch was had at Bert's 50's Diner in Charlotte Hall! They used to have car meets every Fri. night, but not anymore--Boo.

Yes indeed, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO LITTLE MAGGIE ☺ ♥♥♥

Bad weather has caused some of my annuals to have an early departure--specifically petunias. I have 3 pots w/red, white & blue. Already replaced the blue, & got new white ones yesterday.First time I've done replacements.Gotta plant before it's too hot, then have afternoon Dr. appt---duh.

Hi, Jim. Much more decent hour for you now!!!

Loretta, sounds like you had a nice day! Cool that you have at least some baby wrens!! Hope the new petunias survive this heat.

stronghunter said...

Wonder if the blue petunias are more
susceptible to the heat? Mine seem to be suffering, too. One whole pot of petunias died. I have red, white, and blue, too, and the blue ones in the surviving pot look bad.

His summer is coming to an end, too. The first few weeks of school are likely to be very warm this year.
