Well, I don't have to worry about George getting pregnant.

Lolly said...

Whoops! Split and did not have a clue! What a ride!

Lolly said...

ABC has a 4th of July program coming on. Looks like it will be good.

Lolly said...

Kelly! From Burleson, TEXAS!

Lolly said...

Oh, Kelly does neet to loose weight!

stronghunter said...

George Lopez is funny.

stronghunter said...

Just so you know, George has calmed down. Thanks for the catnip suggestion.

New Hope video

stronghunter said...

Thanks for the link to the Hope video, Lolly.

Lynne2 said...

Shirley, you could get George on of those cat balls that you can put his food in and he'll chase it all over as kibbles fall out...my cats LOVE theirs!

BEagle said...

I remember buying catnip by the ounce to make some tea. Probably because it's good for indigestion and stress.

My cat noticed when I brought it in and could barely contain himself with the bag of it. Never heard him purr like that.

Lolly said...

One time I accidentally added catnip to a recipe instead of marjoram. My family has not let me forget it. lol

stronghunter said...

Might try that, Lynn. George is not much for playing with toys, but he loves to eat.

And you never know when he might get the urge to play with something and then he tears through the house and acts like a crazy thing.

Lolly said...

Oh, tears! Really touching tribute to medal of honor recipients.

Lynne2 said...

It was amazing Shirley, how quickly motivated my lazy Joker got when he realized there was food coming out! He isn't much for playing either.

stronghunter said...

It was a nice tribute, Lolly. Nice program. Thank you for telling us about it.

Lolly said...

I thought the program was good. Enjoyed it! Guess our Kelly has now met the president.

Mema Jo said...

Let's all get under the tree and
....hit the blue link

stronghunter said...

Our neighbors are jumping the gun. I keep hearing fireworks. I hope it quiets down so I can leave the windows open when I go to bed.

Mema Jo said...

Then for sure I'll get that turtle shell. ROFLMBO reading your comments.

Lolly said...

Ya think if we all shake the Sycamore tree that the turtle shell will come tubling down? You tried it on your own, didn't you, JO?

Lolly said...

Make that "tumbling"

stronghunter said...

At least one of the four turtle shells should come tumbling down.

stronghunter said...

. . . or tubling

Lynne2 said...

I've shaked, rattled and rolled with Elvis under the sycamore tree....

Now heading to bed, 4am comes very early! Would be nice to think that I could sleep through Steve getting up and out in the AM for fishing, but with animals in the house...well, it's nice to THINK about anyway.

Heading to Irvine at 8 so once up, might just as well stay up!

Have a great evening all!

stronghunter said...

Special word for turtle shell falling out of eagle nest.

NatureNut said...

Evening Everybody!!! Shake, Rattle, & Roll!!
Did we ever figure out where those turtle shells go? Guess the eagles eventually knock them out & then they should be on the ground!!! Need to watch the camera & when one's missing head to the nest, Jo!!!
Wanted to be patriot tomorrow so found my one red w/blue piping Park shirt.Needs to go in the drier w/some other stuff.
Didn't see anything exciting at Chelsea today except lots of geese.
When they swim w/youngsters, the young are in the middle w/parents as bookends.I started counting a line of 9 or 10 in the pond w/a HUGE long necked gander in the rear! Wonder if they were babysitting? One year we had 12 chicks to one pair.

stronghunter said...

Sleep well, Lynne.

Mema Jo said...

Just watched Hope's video - thanks so much Lolly. I hope she never gets hung up on a broken tree branch with her collar. She is just too cute!

Mema Jo said...

Paula went in under the tree one year but only found the skeleton of the turtle - no shells...

Lolly said...

Yes, Jo, I have thought that about the collar. You worry about pet kitties and their collars. Now a little bear climbing all the time, that is a concern that I am sure they thought about.

NatureNut said...

Good news on the squirrel front. Saw our little begging buddy, Shorty, on Sunday & bought a new bag of peanuts. There had been a traffic accident up the road we noticed on Monday w/one & we didn't know who. Hadn't seen him all week, but this AM, Shorty came up on the deck & I got his peanuts! He sits right by the door waiting. He made my day!

BEagle said...

Catnip also dispels gas. HeHeHe

BEagle said...

Is every Shaking and Rattling in the Blue Suede Shoes?

BEagle said...

If Jo tubles the tree and all four come out, what will she do with all of them?

BEagle said...

Well that was clear as dirty water!

If Jo tubles the sycamore tree and all the turtle shells fall out, what will she do with all of them?

Mema Jo said...

Four turtle shells - for sure I would keep one and then raffle the other 3 off at the Open House Dinner.......

BEagle - did you have today off in respect for Sen Byrd?

Lolly said...

Speaking of raffles at open house.....Jack is making something very special.

stronghunter said...

Can't wait to see it, Lolly.

stronghunter said...

Thank goodness, it has quieted down here. An hour ago, it sounded like a war zone.

Mema Jo said...

Can't wait to see it Lolly. Last year Lynn won the beautiful piece Jack made. Want to give any little hint?

Lolly said...

Nope! No hint!

Lolly said...

Just let me say, it will be in a class of it's own.

stronghunter said...

This is a place I have known about for some time. I think we drove through it many years ago. It is actually very near here, and thought I should share it.

Caledon State Park

stronghunter said...

Ready to head upstairs now that it is calm here.

I took a long panda nap this afternoon, but I'm tired now.

Good night.

BEagle said...

Jo. I had this day off in memorial to Senator Byrd.

BEagle said...

It's hard to believe it is after 11:00!
I have been shredding all evening.
Whew.

Lolly said...

Sounds like a place to do some hiking, Shirley. Too bad there is no overnight camping.

Mema Jo said...

We have a Caledonia State Park right up in PA - love it there. Your VA
park looks great also.

I have been back the hallway and am ready to go back again.

Costume Lady said...

We had our Senior High School graduation picnic at Caladonia State Park...loved it there. But, then agan, I loved EVERYTHING when I was a High School Senior;)

Whoopsm just found some little airplanes on the floor in the dining room. Jack is going to have to stop playing with his planes in there. LOL

Lolly said...

Lovely typos tonight. Think I will rewrite the English language!

Oh good grief!

Russian spies have attacked the Sycamore Palace in an attempt to smuggle contraband turtle shells away from Agent 00Jo. This apparently set off a counter-attack by an undercover agent disguised as a temperamental teen eaglet.
to the south, Agent George, sensing trouble, has launched his own attack against a suspected counter-intelligence spy disguised as a school teacher. Meanwhile, 00Jo has been placed in the witness protection program and is in an undisclosed location far away from tubling turtle shells. Jack, on the other hand, has decided to try to escape capture by playing with toys in the dining room.

I thought Mary Poppins was good fun and, logic or not, Hunter would be very impressed. Not only does she fly across the stage, at the end she slowly soars above the audience from stage to back top balcony. This is not one of my favorite stories but I was very, very impressed.

Of course, Mary Poppins cannot compete with the drama raging on the blog tonight.

I need sleep. Turning my light off but leaving the night light for others coming in. Infrared has been set to detect Russian spies and tubling turtle shells.

NatureNut said...

Falling asleep in chair so it's time to say goodnight to all.
Pleasant Feather Dreams;>)

BEagle said...

It is late.
Your spy record is fun, Judie. Thanks that was a treat!

Good night. May God bless your sleep. He loves you.

Costume Lady said...

Loved Judie's parody on tonight's blog comments:) Do your students know of this literary talent, Judie? Hope you and Shirley are enjoying your Summer vaction, cause we are enjoying having you on here more often:)
One thig that was over-looked...I don't think Lynn's computer is down, I believe the Russians have kidnapped her! Better call Margy and have her put out an APB or BOLO on Lynn. And, one other thing, Dana is looking to rent a Motor Home. Now what do you suppose she is running away from? She may have Lynn...OMG!!

GOOD NIGHT MY FRIENDS
SWEET DREAMS
PRAYERS FOR ALL

magpie said...

So I watch Shake, Rattle, and Roll, and NOW I am supposed to sleep? Now, come on !

Better do it though, back to work at 8 am
won't be up quite as early as Lynne though

meant to tell you I saw a bird one rarely sees: a juvenile Whip-poor-will..doing flying exercises, out in Morgan County Thursday night.
It was Neat !

Good Night Hedgie, we miss you....

also heard that a number of Berkeley County WV customers (south end of the county) lost their phone service during this Verizon-Frontier switch...guess it will take awhile for all the bugs to be worked out

God Bless Us, Every One
xo ♥

Hi,

Having trouble sleeping again tonight. Maybe because of the panda nap or because I hoped Judie had found time to log in after she got home. Anyway, I was not disappointed. I was literally LOL at her parody.

I am following my doctor's orders for what to do when I can't sleep. I'm having a cup of tea (decaffeinated). He did not say I should be checking in on a blog, but then that conversation took place before I knew about the blog.

The tea actually seems to help.

Maybe we should take Hunter to see Mary Poppins.

stronghunter said...

I have to say this: One of the first things I noticed about Judie was her sparkling eyes and that mischievous grin that is just below the surface trying to break out. It completely matches the things she writes. I am sure her students have noticed the same thing.

Of course, when she has 100 students in a class, some of them might not be near enough her to be able to see the sparkling eyes and the grin. And, if they don't bother to come to class they miss it all. What a shame.

stronghunter said...

Whip-poor-will--that brings back childhood memories. I remember hearing them way back when.

stronghunter said...

Wonder how many turtle shells might be buried deep within the nest? Probably a lot of things are buried there. Wonder if anyone has ever done a study of what actually makes an eagle nest?

Could even be a spy or two.

stronghunter said...

"What makes up an eagle nest." The eagles make it.

stronghunter said...

See you later!

Hi, Everyone!

Getting here kinda late, so am afraid I missed a lot of fun tonight! Russian spies, and turtle shells tubling, and Elvis, my, oh my!

Hubby decided to take me out to dinner tonight. Yummy! My eyes are doing much better now. Must say, though, that I had to get an old washcloth and wash the bright yellow eye drops off my face! Just hate that stuff, but need to have that checked out. It's been a couple of years--so must remember to have it done in ONE year. It's pretty important when you are diabetic.

We watched a good John Wayne movie tonight on AMC channel. Haven't seen one of them in years!

Lolly, thanks for the Hope link. I really enjoyed seeing that little bear! She's looking very healthy, and seems to be growing nicely.

Judie, loved your post about what's happening on the blog! Glad you enjoyed Mary Poppins--sounds like great fun!

Well, better get going and hit the hay. Have paid a couple bills online, and can't stop yawning. Need some sleep, in spite of a nap earlier! The night light is on, and the porch light is automatic.
Don't worry about any spies sneaking in--the eye scanner security is enabled, and will be sure to stop them!

Sleep well, everyone, and I'll talk to you tomorrow. Prayers have been said for everyone--especially those in need of healing. God bless, and goodnight! Love all of you! :o]

Good Morning! All is quiet at the nest at the moment. Save for a few songbirds singing the praises of dawn in the background.

Steve left for fishing about an hour ago. Sure hope they catch some BIG'UNs for grillin'!

I'm off to do some chores before heading to Irvine for a few hours, then back for our neighbor/landlord's Housewarming/Independence Day Picnic. But really, I just can't wait to get back to bed tonight...I'm TIRED!!!

Found this great story...

goot mornink, comrades!

Ze computer of your friend Hedgie has disappeared? Ve haf no knowledge of this disappearance of intelligence gathering device; ve haf no care to impregernate something called George. As for ze shiny garland -- vell, that is anozer spy satellite.

Good morning, everyone.

Happy to have brought a smile or two. Not too difficult with the abundance of ammunition provided by the blog family.

Lock Lowes is looking lovely with Isla and chicks, Lock Garten chicks being fed, Hope is still holding her own. Can't get NCTC.

Had a rough night. Experienced mild symptoms of stomach flu. Very little sleep so really tired this morning. The worst seems to be over. Think I just need to get a bit more sleep.

Lynne, hope Steve has a nice fishing trip.

Andy, glad you got your eyes checked. Yes, important for all of us.

Margy, have a quiet day at work and, if you have time, put out a BOLO for Lynn's computer -- it may contain espionage secrets.

Back to try to get some sleep.

paula eagleholic said...

Morning, all.

Hope you feel better, Judie. I didn't get much sleep either, but sounds like it was more than you...and everyone else must be sleeping in!

Missed all the fun last night, my mouth was really bothering me. Had to go get some orajel and chlorseptic. Don't even ask me how many tylenol and advil I took. Also doubled the antibiotics. Seems better so far this morning...keeping my fingers crossed. Have to get the house in shape and didn't get a thing done last night.

Nest is MT and really quiet except for the hum.

paula eagleholic said...

This is supposed to be the last nice day before the heat and humidity return tomorrow. And no rain in sight :(
