When Margy gets back from carwash duties, I also have seen the "flapping" whitish thingy late at night on lower right of nest.Looks like spider web & I think when it blows in the wind the light hits it, it flickers & gives appearance of flashlight.

Lord, I never use the pop-up, its bad enough the cam keeps freezing, and the still cam has had blackouts when I have watched it today
My pop has worked the best of anything today, until just at the wrong time. I usually don't have it open either, but I wanted to use the zoom in.

Unrest at Redoubt Volcano continues, though no eruption has yet occurred. Volcanic tremor is ongoing with variable amplitudes, and small discrete earthquakes are occurring at a rate of one to several events per hour. Clear webcam images today show a steam plume rising up to several hundred feet above the crater.

Wow! Been working in the yard, came in refreshed OK and there was that second egg! Beautiful! Such a good picture...no doubt about the number of eggs there.
After we working in the yard, Jack and I sat out there for a while. Really seemed like spring. Jack was in shorts and neighbors on both sides were on their riding mowers.

Deb, I have a question. Laurel has an owl she hears frequently. Sounds like a great horned owl with his hoots. Her neighbor was walking one night last week, heard the owl and shined his flashlight up. He said it was a white owl. Well, our reseach says the snowy owl is mostly silent. ?????What do you know. Snowy owls have occasionally been seen this far south.

There is a GHOW, called the West Taiga, that is very pale and often mistaken for a Snowy. The snow doesn't have ear tufts, though, and a GHOW does.

Now that I have learned all of that, it is time for dinner.
Before it got dark I did get to see the 2 eggs at OK. Which this year they would stop at 2 or 3. So they can raise them.
Saw pic of possible 4th egg for our nest. I'm still counting 3. Yes there is something there but I don't think it is a 4th egg. Took her as usual 4 days from 2nd to 3rd egg (not counting day she laid it). 3 years.So I don't think she would have a 4th by 3rd day. JMO

realized awhile ago I am getting little-eared, long-eared, and Great Horned Owls all mixed up with each other sometimes. That's why I was thinking "ears" too when looking at Valmont :(

Cool, Deb. That's the owl I heard all summer & fall & a couple years ago. House across street has few acres of woods. One night it was so close, nust have been right next door, but couldn't see anything. Creepy!
If Ms. Sharon comes on, I want to say Congratulations (even tho it was painfull). Now Mits can't call her Drano! I never had any trouble w/removal of any of mine---but they were only in for week.
And remind me NEVER to open Live cam on tab w/anything else on page. Keeps freezing & I have to close up everything :>(

The Spidey web would account for the streaks of light...and maybe it was just a ball of fuzz that broke loose from the nest that was flying around, the more I think of it, I think that could be it, if it got caught in the cam glare just right. Don't know what owl Laurel has up there. Speaking of which, looks like I am leaving early in the morning to babysit. Joseph is sick, fever, sore throat and his neck is hurting. Sounds like the flu bug. So away I go! Maybe I can get on her computer up there.
I have been busy today. Had to see my vascular doctor at 9:15 this morning for some tests. Then spent a few hours setting myself up for a NASCAR Fantasy League with some of my old work buddies. I also stopped by the Senior Center in Huntsville and signed up for a computer graphics course which will start Feb 17 for two hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Deb is watching the Owl eggs.. ☺

Finally off the phone. I got to see the eggs, and the fluttering thing by the eggs. When the owl came back into the nesting box, it picked up the fluttering thing. I will rewind it and watch it again.

Oh, Drat! I tried to refresh Caltran and they cut me off for the night. Two eagles were there, I was hoping for a good view of egg or eggs.
