But feed does seem better now....takes longer to freeze up.. at least it's not only on for 5 seconds...froze up after 1 minute or so...then had to refresh

Cincinnati-based Macy’s Inc. says the work force reduction includes positions in offices, stores and other locations. It will cut 7,000 jobs, or 4 percent of its work force, and slash its dividend as it looks to lower expenses.
Good for you gal - was thinking that you really didn't pitch those seed catalogs when you got them earlier... Pick some pretty posies for your garden! I like pink and purple posies! lol
One of my favorites, too, Helen. When I saw all those big lemons, I knew a couple would have to be put into a pie. That is one of the nicest parts of CA, just walk out the door and pick some fruit.
February will be a month to remember for objects in the sky. First and foremost there is lovely Comet Lulin, which is now brighter than magnitude 7, making it an easier target for binoculars and a fabulous sight for almost any telescope. The Spaceweather.com Comet Lulin gallery continues to grow, so keep checking back for updates! The NASA Astronomy Picture of the Day site also features Comet Lulin for today!
I was just giving you a hard time Helen. I am from the valley and was raised with citrus groves all around. Rode my horse through orchards. Played pony express. LOL
Yes, the meringue looks good, Jo. I seem to have good luck with it. I almost forgot to add the sugar to the filling, luckily I had to lick the whisk! YUCK! I was worried I ruined it, but it worked out okay.
I sent my sister to check on the heron nest that goes with my avatar. They trimmed the tree! No Heron, no nest. At least she thought that was what happened. Bob, my bil, is going to go and check, too.
Hi, eaglelovers. I've been checking in every now and then to see if we have an egg - and WOW! today we have one. I'll be checking in more often now that another season has begun. It's snowing up here on this mountain right now!
Hi Carol - you need to get an eagle on your avatar now that the season has started. Should be another egg in the nest by tomorrow or the next day! Hi everyone, I just spoke with Steve about your concerns. We turned the audio off on the live feed, to check the latency in the page loading. We made engineering changes to the cam setup. The setup is now running on a dedicated file server running Adobe Flash Media Server, it use to be a PC with Realproducer. This change was made for viewing from a web browser, and no need for RealPlayer. It's less bandwidth usage with Flash video. We also installed a 75 watt monocrystaline solar panel, and set the panel according to solar placement calculators. The new panel is connected to two 92AmpH AGM batteries wired in a parallel configuration. This configuration keeps the voltage the same, but increases the battery pack capacity. I know that this is probably more information than you need, but I just wanted to let you know we have put a great deal of effort into this project. Thanks for you patience, and happy viewing.
I think it is Liberty - at least the egg is well covered but not up at his breast feathers. I really thought it was Belle in the egg well pulling up all the fluff around her - Maybe I missed a switch you think?
Hi all, just took a break before I go to the hardware store. I am washing curtains and drapes and replacing them. busy, busy. I do check the kids several times a day for a new egg. this will be known in history as the year with no winter. I still have blooming roses. Its really strange and inbetween 65& 70 every day.
Jo, I sent the photos to Margy with the JPEG numbers on so that she may post them onto the Momsters Albums (she is better at that than I). If you wish, I can send them to you.
Yeah, but I think they are as frustrated as us when the cam doesn't work smoothly. This is all extra work for them, if it wasn't for their love of the eagles we wouldn't even have the cam. Mine is still freezing on and off.
I think it was really above and beyond the call of duty for John to inform us what is going on with the cam...BUT, do you get the feeling that he is PLAYING with our minds??;);) LOL
Red Couldn't it be that John doesn't even realize we have a problem? Seriously - we know what we are seeing & I am 100% sure John knows what he is seeing - We just might not be looking at the same thing
Lynn, the reason I didn't post Margy's photos on the Momsters Album, is because, the way my system is set up, only shows the jpeg numbers and not the photos and I don't know what I am posting when I go to browse. Does that make sense? I guess I need to try another system.
Wanda, I have the same problem sometimes too. What I do is look at the pictures in my windows picture and fax viewer...that way I know which picture goes with with #...it shows you in the upper left corner of the viewer the filename which corresponds to the number...
That could be Mema Jo. I would suggest John or Steve try watching the nest from home like we do. Maybe then they could see the problem and know why we are getting fed up.
Wanda you have mail & I think I can handle those photos by putting them into the album and then bringing them up to EDIT the captions. But I need some time I have been placing photos in the new eagle album from Suz.....

The only solution I have come up with is to have the live feed up twice, side by side, two screens, often when one is frozen, the other isn't, or I would have missed the switch earlier.
The color on NBG is just incredible. I am stubborn, and refuse to give up, so I'll try to keep an eye on our nest. I would think Belle woukld be back soon if we are gonna get another egg today. Just did an egg roll and he switched positions, facing two o'clock.

Lemon meringue is my favorite right behind peanut butter pie!
Helen, if you need Potassium & don't have bananas, OJ is also good. I take all my pills w/it as well as BP pill.

I'll be right over Deb. My favorite!

I love lemon meringue too. We can have it for dessert. I have some muffalettas left over!!!
Tip-very salty-need to go lighter on the olive salad.
Hey Mits! You left off Texas when you were talking about fruit. The lower Rio Grande Valley has the best fruit!!!
I am home from the dentist. My face is so numb, I feel like they removed my upper lip and nose. Going to get another crown. Oh, they love my money!
didn't mean to exclude Texas, Lolly, have never been there, was just naming the states I have visited, to enjoy the fruits and veggies

Yes, the meringue looks good, Jo. I seem to have good luck with it. I almost forgot to add the sugar to the filling, luckily I had to lick the whisk! YUCK! I was worried I ruined it, but it worked out okay.

Hi, eaglelovers. I've been checking in every now and then to see if we have an egg - and WOW! today we have one. I'll be checking in more often now that another season has begun. It's snowing up here on this mountain right now!
I have a pretty bare driveway and can see some of the ground again after the nice days we have had this past week.
UPS truck just stopped at the 4-way stop.
Hi Carol - you need to get an eagle on your avatar now that the season has started. Should be another egg in the nest by tomorrow or the next day! We are

Hey - I saw that I still had my Redneck Christmas Lawn Decoration as my photo - so I changed it to the Alaskan volcano getting ready to erupt.
Somebody, I think Glo or maybe Mits, asked if those stop signs are ever actually used. Looks like they are run all the time.
There went the School bus
Could that have been Mattie waving to us?
Oops! I forgot to check out the rest of the Open House Photos on Wanda's site....
BBILW
The UPS truck came to a full and compete stop!
It's not really a 4 way stop is it.
I only see traffic headed north/south
actually stopping.
They are good pictures, brings back some fun memories, as does the picture Paula has on the Momsters page.
I think they do a pretty good job at stopping especially in bad weather....they don't break the law in Bluefield, do they????:)
The law is never broken in Bluefield!! It is a 2-way stop. the main road is College Avenue that goes straight into Bluefield, Virginia (at Bluefield College).
I must have seen someone stop to turn and assumed it was a four-way, UPS truck was coming down the hill.
Up date on Redoubt Volcano: (as of 11 o'clock Alaska time)
Elevated seismic activity continues and we have been detecting small repeating earthquakes over the past several hours.
The volcano has not erupted and is still in a very restless state.
yeah, it is a 2-way stop sign
I bet the poor people in Anchorage are really in a restless state.

honey, I lost the egg.

There was a volcanic eruption in Japan near Tokyo today and there was a mild earthquake neat Seattle last week. Seems like something is brewing in the Pacific Rim. I'll take snow anyday over volcanos or earthquakes!
It is so interesting to watch the intelligence of our eagles!
They are smart, there is moisture in the air, rain going past us right now, may hit the nest eventually.
There is that very awkward position we saw last evening - the tail's up one!
Me, too, Carol!
Looks like it will probably be raining there soon.
yeah hurt my back just watching it......
Thanks Megan for the update over the mountain. I can see the darkness in the sky over your way.

Jo I think Lib always puts the fluff in and Belle takes it out.
Thank you, John, for all the information and hard work.
Thank you for those answers John.
Glad you don't mind us questioning the cam's performance when we notice things not as you may wish them to be and voice our concerns! We just want the BEST and thanks for doing your BEST to get us that. Steve, thanks for passing the word and asking John to respond to us
Thank you, John:)

Interesting info, John, even tho' it's all greek to me!!! Does that mean that it is what it is, or is tweaking needed/in progress?
Wanda, are you going to put Margy's open house pics in an album on momsters? For some reason, they won't save to my album.

Help - I'm out of here for a few
Hi all, just took a break before I go to the hardware store. I am washing curtains and drapes and replacing them. busy, busy. I do check the kids several times a day for a new egg. this will be known in history as the year with no winter. I still have blooming roses. Its really strange and inbetween 65& 70 every day.
Thank goodness for all you eagle buddies straightening me out!!!!
I thought I saw 2 eagle & I did
I just missed the one going Poof so fast
I still could use that nap
Hedgie - Margy's pics will probably not
be posted over on the Momsters by Wanda - I will give it a try later today.
Hi Anne Marie! Just had the feeling you were checking up on us and the birds!
Take care - Wish I could smell your roses
Jo both eagles were there when I first checked in but only for a split second. Your not loosing it.
My mama squirrel is pg. the twins have been kicked out of the nest and are on their own. Mom is even chasing them away from the feeder.
Off to the hardware store to get new curtain rods. BBL
I think John just said he has no idea what is causing our problems.
Jo, I sent the photos to Margy with the JPEG numbers on so that she may post them onto the Momsters Albums (she is better at that than I). If you wish, I can send them to you.
Two eagles.
Wanda - let's see if Margy prefers to place them in the album.
Our concern is that what we are seeing on the internet may not be the same as what John is seeing on his cams.
That is what we want to get ironed out.
I believe the Caltrans eagles are about ready for eggs too.
Yeah, cause they are probably not experiencing the freezing up like we are.
Lib's tail's up position is making my back to start aching too, MITS!
Wanda,
I have the same problem sometimes too. What I do is look at the pictures in my windows picture and fax viewer...that way I know which picture goes with with #...it shows you in the upper left corner of the viewer the filename which corresponds to the number...
The little kittens' cam is up/running!
http://www.ustream.tv/channel/kitty-cam-2
Wake up Lolly! Watching the playful kittens will ease the pain in your numb
face!!!
That could be Mema Jo. I would suggest John or Steve try watching the nest from home like we do. Maybe then they could see the problem and know why we are getting fed up.
Egg roll time
Egg roll and position change
I'll give that advice, Red.
Wanda you have mail & I think I can handle those photos by putting them into the album and then bringing them up to EDIT the captions. But I need some time
I have been placing photos in the new
eagle album from Suz.....
I think I missed a switch... anyone know
so...... Looks now like Belle
Ok, Wanda and Jo. I'm sure Margy can do it.
I'm really confused about the cam now....why would John see something different? I can understand them probably not having the freeze-issues since they are so close and probably get priority routing ot something! But the sound issues--not the in and out--but the weird noises--I would think they would hear, too. Am I right, Red?
Jo, I was going to say it's Belle also...
Deb noted 2 eagles a little while ago...they must have switched then.
They did switch when both were there.
John may see the feed directly into the computer...not what is being broadcast over the internet.
He might not be looking at it online...and if so...he should look at it off campus.
It is raining here but there is snow mixed with it. 33°-radar shows it's probably doing the same at the nest.
Paula answered your question Hedgie. I agree with her. He may have a direct feed and not on the internet.
Eagles at NBG
2 HP's there today!
It's cool, they have time and date on their live feed.
Our nest does look like it's getting wet...and a little foggy as well
That weather is coming right over the mountain and into my back yard YUK!
I thought it was almost SPRING!!!!
Yeah, cause in the building where Steve's office is, it's on a tv, like a closed circuit feed, I guess. Not thru a web browser, I assume. But I am not a techie...
Sorry, it ain't Spring until March 20th, and it probably won't feel like it then...
That makes sense....that's what you call REAL live feed!!!!!
Eagle just flew in, looks like they're having a discussion.
And they just switched places.
These 2 cams are really freaking me out!
Sill cam: 1 eagle up on edge at 2:00 looking into egg well
Live feed: there were briefly 2 eagles at the nest.....
I think I should only be looking at the 1 cam.... But I put still cam up in order to take pics. BUT I miss things because of the refresh..STILL CAM NEEDS A FASTER REFRESH
TIME!!! UHMMMMM!
Lib flew in and sat at 2:00 on edge of nest, Belle got up and flew out- then Lib sat on egg cup, where he is right now.
Thanks, Paula for the suggestion on how to put photos on the Momsters Album. I will work on that and try to do better next time:)

Hmmm wonder if she popped an egg out..about their time...and she was still for awhile there....
Or, could just be checking it out
NBG just zoomed in

Live Feed. I'd say it is still Lib because of the direction he lies in the nest - westward or eastward!
Belle seems to lie Northward & southward
I think it is Lib also Jo. It looks small.
well, earlier I thought our ID was right, but I thought they would've switched by now. I saw that egg cup, I think it was a foot I was seeing by the 1st egg....
Jo, I tried to put that poem I posted last week--The Dalliance of the Eagles--on, but it wouldn't open, so I deleted it.
looks like the Pix opossum is back
look at the sundown in Denver with BRS...awesome
Eating in Caltrans, just like our nest, he brings in the food, she eats it!
Tried a new Betty Crocker potato thing--pretty tasty....Mild Jalapeno Cheddar potatoes. If you like a little spice, try it!
WHOEVER it is in the nest, they sure are hunkered down...can barely tell where bird ends and nest begins w/ the glare of the infrared!
That's pretty, the sundown, not the possum.
It is pretty isn't it? Too bad there are so many people living in the area.
Split about to happen
and it did happen:)
You know what they say, split happens! :)
that's one pretty eagle at Caltrans:)
