ah yes, think the beach trip is on hold, don't want to be there if things are happening up here, jubby leaves tomorrow afternoon, and I need to stay put and watch the homestead up here....another time to get to beach:)
I am hoping that she gives us a new little PEEP before BWE! I'll keep you all posted! They don't know the sex of this little one - that's the best excitement! Just praying for a healthy babe and delivery! ((hugs))
Newport Beach California...lol, everyone keeps asking why I am not going, he works just like when he is in town, 12 to 14 hours...I have things to keep me busy here.:)
I always tell him to be on the lookout, but the only time he gets outside is to walk to the office and back at night, occasionally they will go out to dinner, but mostly room service and more paper work...
Saturday, February 28, 2009 If you were watching, you saw that yes, I did miss my truckstop turn. LOL. Hate when that happens! Fueling up, doing paperwork, and then will head back on the road. It has to get better from here right? At least the snow stopped:)
Good morning everyone. Cloudy day here and snow (YES I SAID SNOW) is forcast for this evening and tomorrow morning. All the Idiots have bought all the bread and milk in all the stores. Guess thats all they eat durnig snowy days. lol Mrs. Red and I are going to a movie (Grand Torino with Eastwood) this afternoon then to an early dinner out. Y'll enjoy your egg watching day. See ya later. ♥♥♥
I have heard that the movie, Grand Torino with Eastwood, is exceptionally good. I saw some previews on TV - I get upset with teen kids & violence - BUT my sons said I would really like it! I'll see what Red says!
whenever I have our cam up, I spend the majority of the time refreshing and waiting for it to come back, this is going to be a tad frustrating when the chicks come:(
Milk to me means they have lots of cereals... Breakfast cereal, lunchtime cereal and dinner time cereal. Must have lots of peanut butter too for the plain bread or toast! Plus you need mile to drink when you eat peanut butter so you don't get it stuck in your throat and choke!
OOOOOOHHHHHHH!!! So that is what that is!!! Okay, DUH! I didn't know they had that. Hmm, live and learn. This is really the first I have ever watched this nest for any length of time! I thought it was a growth or something!! ROFLMBO!!
Turns out didn't need the adaptor thing after all, so get to take it back and get my money! He ended up having to get parameters from hughesnet, which he did with his little keyboard on his blackberry!! Too technical for me. Jo, excitement on all fronts for you! Hope she delivers befire the bad weather sets in!! Been too long since I delivered a baby for me to slide over there and do it!!!
They did that last season, too, Helen. I wonder how much it costs to sponsor a cam?
I am answering my own question:
Now you can help IWS continue to bring you the live eagle cams by becoming a daily sponsor. For a tax-deductible donation of $25 for an individual or $50 for a business you can select the date and camera you would like to sponsor. Your name/business name and message will be placed on the camera web page on the date of your choice. You can also sponsor a nest for 7 days for $125 for an individual or $250 for a business. Dates do not need to be consecutive, you do not have to sponsor the same nest every day, and your message can change daily.
I have a hard enough time just keeping up with my basic panda, osprey and eagle cams, am going to try a second blog, BRS's, but not sure I will do it that often, have the posts coming to my email like the nctc blog...have seen Jo and just Vicky:)
Jo, you may suggest to granddaughter or daughter to get familiar with Lynn, JUST IN CASE! Know where she lives and phone number. OK, LYNN? Or don't you know nuthin 'bout birthin babies? LOL
I see our 2....Deb, guess I don't go out west much, never noticed that...but I like the idea....wonder if NCTC would be interested in something like that?
Happy Sat. Everyone in Eagleland!☺ Strange weather---had 60 the other day, now maybe snow on Sun! Guess we'll keep our e4yes peeled on BW. Lynn, how exciting about baby!!Bet it will beat eaglets! As a matter of fact, am going to a baby shower today (no work, yippee) up in Annapolis - Cape St. Claire. So I will kinda be at the beach! Gotta get food & open BW.
Hello all! I am sooooo glad to see you all still on here. I have been lurking and looking at the blog to try and keep up.
WANDA, Gene sure took some GREAT pics of your visit to the nest this past Thursday. I saw where you were going for lunch and wished so bad to be thee. I know you all had a wonderful time. I haven't noticed if you put your pics on yet.
LOLLY, love your pics of the yellow flowers in your yard. Our daffodils are starting to come out here also. My husband brought me in a couple he cut from the yard. Spring must be on it's way.
I have been watching the weather for the eagle nest and hoping that the storms don't come close or stay too long. It is too close to hatching. BWE should be anytime now and then ours should start. My son't birthday is March 6th. Didn't I read where someone elses was too?
Was thinking of you all looking at the space lab the other day when one of my k kids pointed to the sky at a jet vapor trail and thought that is was the space lab. Too cute.
Thanks, Candy...Gene's photos were fun to look at. He really likes the new camera. I posted my photos on Wanda's Wishes this morning. Haven't checked them out yet. Washing clothes. Getting housework caught up so I can sit at the 'puter ALL DAY when it is time for our chicklets to hatch!:)
Wanda there is a mid wife very near by in case needed - Also a real good friend that would come sit with the other 3 if need me. If it happens at home - the Ninja Panda video - the kids don't move and inch let alone an eye.
Believe me if I need Lynn - I'll call right away!!
Back and Mema Jo it is so wonderful another baby soon. Your family just keeps growing and growing. Must be wonderful to have such a large family.
SISSY I think you might have my problem fixed. I didn't uncheck the place where it is check for hiberation. I waited an the screen didn't change to black. Hope I gave it enough time. THANK YOU !
Yes, Dana, GeeGee ate 1 plate of crab legs, bowl of soup, a plate of veggies with a huge amout of spinach & cheese casserole and a full plate of fruit and cookies..and a pot of hot tea. She also ate her fortune cookie:)
WANDA Hoping she feels better soon. We have had an awful sick winter this year. Can't seem to shake one thing before getting another. It seems that it has been the same with all of you too.

I too hope it is just because of recuperating from the bug. I know what I had wore me down. I still get tired easy. Ed is still recuperating Wanda. It does seem to take a good while before you get back to yourself.
JO Congratulations on almost having another add on to your family. I have since looked at WANDA's pics and she got some good ones of you all too. You are a lucky and wonderful bunch of people, and all looked soooooo good.
and don't forget Memphis panda cam, and the fact that she had her AI on Christmas day, so they might have a pregnancy watch starting in a few weeks, I really have my pseudo-thumbs crossed for them, they are the only zoo in the US, not to have had a cub yet.
No, Wanda, not the teacher. Retired from Corning. Yes, I've done babies but it's been a really long time ago!! Left hospital in '77!! Loretta, Jo's new great-grandbaby is due any moment!! The mommy lives about a mile and a half from me.
Oh my gosh SISSY. Josh was born on my MIL birthday and when we moved to Nc we found another lady with the same date too. It must really be a special day. Josh was a bicentiennial baby in '76

Restless activity at Redoubt Volcano is continuing. The volcano has not erupted. Seismicity is dominated by small discrete earthquakes; tremor diminished significantly in the past two days. There have not been any significant earthquake swarms in the past 24 hours.
There isn't a real ADVARK on that site! It is just mentioned on that sign... Glad you saw the same black cat that Deb did 2 nights ago. The raccoon, opossum and the cat are regulars! I watch the bird feeding station this morning and those squirrels would give Chrissy a fit! They are huge compared to the PA Woods!
*** Lynn - new slippers scared the 2 cats BUT not they rub up against the little frog heads! They are so soft & no hazard in wearing them! Warm and Soft and Fuzzy! Sounds like a new born description!
Well crud! Typed a long blog and got pushed aside. Did you do that JO? LOL
Jo..how many boys and girls does your grandaughter already have? I was at Laurel's side when both Joseph and Jacob were born. I loved it! If I ever slow down I want to volunteer in a hospital nursery.
Our trailer is in the drive way, and to quote Wanda, it is quivering to go. We are going to the Canyon of the Eagles on Lake Buchanan. It is about 2 1/2 hours south of us. We will also go to Fredericksburg. We will do a little wine tasting at wineries.
We won't be leaving til Wednesday. Joseph has a basketball gave Tuesday night.
Lynn.....so glad you are up and running on your notebook. I love our laptop. Took it with me the last time we babysat. My SIL fixed it so when I go up there it picks up his router signal. It has taken quite as while to get all my favs on, but I have also added new ones that are not on our reg. computer.
Lynn I hear you got the notebook working. Great...
SISSY if I leave the cams up and wait awhile the black screen comes up still. That didn't work. I went back in and unchecked the hiberation also. Rebooted...still no go....dang
I lucked out at the post office and found more of the sunflower stamps - will have to use a bunch of them before May, but I also got some one-centers.... NO Sand Dune stamps today, but I did see where you can choose a picture of your own to put on a postage stamp, but I forgot to pick up the brochure on it !
Lolly: you are leaving when? I have some "hard copies" of photographs to send you from last October....I think I might have to wait until you get back from your little trip...
Rest period before Mass this evening (as long as it does not start doing something before then....)
Good Afternoon and Evening wishes to all, people, birds and all manner of wildlife ! xo
My great wonderful daughter called from CO and in 2 seconds she told me were to go and what to do. Cams now STAY UP no black screen. Oh daughers are wonderful lol....I'm so so so so so so so HAPPY to get her call. I just love talking with her. She is so busy we don't get to talk as often as we use to.
The Valmont GH Owl was in the nest all morning and then left about 1:30 I think she'll return Not sure just how soon a new clutch of egg would be laid.

That was as about as beautiful as it gets, OUR Nest, still ahead of the live again but couldn't get a good screen grab! Did get one of the wing stretch, though!
Well, that sounds like a reasonable decision, Mits... You know, "wherever one or more gathers in my name...." and a Catholic college at that ! My newphew is in the Seminary there... There's always Sunday! I'm going to get ready now myself... xo
Been lurking while doing other things. All heading out...please get home before the weather starts acting up! Dana, where in CO does your daughter live? What kind of winter has she had? Decided I am going to fry up a mess of taters for dinner' so guess I better start peeling! BBL.
Just got back from watching "Gran Torino" with Clint Eastwood. It's a very good movie with a good story. I didn't exactly like the ending and there's lots of foul language but definately a good movie. Go see it Jo!!!!!!!
Saturday, February 28, 2009 Whew! Made it. Today has been one of those tiresome days. Fighting mountains and rain all day. Glad the snow held off for a bit. I think I am going to go in this truckstop here and see if they have a big ol Ribeye or something close to it. A nice salad with cukes, radishes, and everything else I can throw on the plate and still carry it back to the table! Can ya tell I am starving? Made it to where I planned, so that is always a good thing. After I eat, I will try to get some emails answered. I am 3 days behind. LOL See ya'll in the morning.
Fried taters in the tummy....kitchen cleaned up...getting ready to settle in to watch Yanni's new concert release on PBS----yep, I'm a fan....have seen him in concert 3 times! Have to admit' though' that after he and Linda Evans broke up and after reading his book, not quite as "in lust" w/ him as I used to be, LOL! Bust still a magnificent composer and performer...and beautiful music!
I know I was wondering and some other have too. I emailed Lisa BWE 2/28/09 7:28am Lisa, Will the cam refresh time change to like 5 seconds anytime soon for the chicks?
Yesterday Evening - From: webmaster (webmaster@friendsofblackwater.org) Sent: Fri 2/27/09 7:56 PM To: jo_lennox@hotmail.com Hi there, If we did try less than 30 seconds, it was for a brief period of time. It used to be we could not go below 30 seconds because of our satellite dish limits, but we recently got a new dish modem that gives us more capacity with the image traffic. We have been thinking that since most of our cam watchers are now on broadband, we might go to 20 second updates on the Eagle Cam if we get chicks. It will mean taking the Osprey Cam to 1-minute updates, but that shouldn't be a problem since the ospreys are a ways off from returning and getting into serious nesting. The only live video is at the Visitor Center, which closes at 5pm (so the monitor is off). If someone wanted to stay there all night and watch it, it would be possible, but no one is taping it during that time.

Good morning JO. Once again, thanks for trying to get the medallions at the gift shop.
Both eagles in our nest!
Time for me to eat breakfast. Just finished my second mug of coffee, now I am ready to eat. Today officially ends one month of diet. I have gone off the diet only a couple of times and I am now down 15 pounds! Wahoo!!! I am not measuring, but can see a difference in the fit of my clothes. Have saved jeans from one size down. Looking forward to the day when I can get in them! LOL
We are heading to Colorado in June for a week of camping and hiking. I want to be able to hike without huffing and puffing. :)
You're doing Great, Lolly!
Check your email on some info I sent about the medallions you can order on line.
I am done with this snow. it was easy to do, nice and fluffy. It didn't feel that cold, except for my fingers! I think the wind has gone down, so the windchill wasn't what the weather is saying.
Thanks Sharon for the heads up!!
Must have been a quickie at our nest!
Didn't get to see both of them.
Deb Hope the wind doesn't start up again for you and blow all that fluffy
white stuff back into your drive!!

Newport Beach California...lol, everyone keeps asking why I am not going, he works just like when he is in town, 12 to 14 hours...I have things to keep me busy here.:)
There is an osprey nest in Newport Beach, at least, there used to be. I assume it is still there.
I always tell him to be on the lookout, but the only time he gets outside is to walk to the office and back at night, occasionally they will go out to dinner, but mostly room service and more paper work...
I haven't ever seen the nest, just heard about it. I wanted to find it when we were out there for the wedding, but we didn't have time.
BW is up.
Back down, I didn't see any eggs.

Lisa's Nest Update
02/28/09:
Grass in the nest leaves shadows on the eggs that make it hard to tell what is a shadow and what is a crack.
But we should definitely see some kind of hatching activity between now and Sunday afternoon if the first egg is fertile.
ROFLMBO That's right Helen!
Those shelves are usually MT!
I often wonder, what they are making with the bread and milk that requires TP????
I have heard that the movie, Grand Torino with Eastwood, is exceptionally good. I saw some previews on TV - I get upset with teen kids & violence - BUT
my sons said I would really like it!
I'll see what Red says!
BRS is sure Rolling Down The Highway!!

you mean its orange ID number Sissy?

cool, PH has a daily sponser for the viewing of the nest....what a good idea.
lol...Sissy, we have watched them in the past put the bling on them when they are young....
I rarely watch the west coast nests, til the days are longer and if they have chicks.
Turns out didn't need the adaptor thing after all, so get to take it back and get my money! He ended up having to get parameters from hughesnet, which he did with his little keyboard on his blackberry!! Too technical for me.

Think it will take forever to get all cam pages built into Favs on here!!!

Grandson, Brandon, is at Ocean City this weekend...seminar or something having to do with school. Bet he doesn't go swimming:)
Found this at Maine, no one knows what it means:
Well this is a first...I tried bringing the CAM up again and it says "Battery Randomization"?????
Does this mean the battery is low on the Cam? Hope they randomize it soon

Helen, I have been wondering the same thing. No news from that front yet?
and don't forget Memphis panda cam, and the fact that she had her AI on Christmas day, so they might have a pregnancy watch starting in a few weeks, I really have my pseudo-thumbs crossed for them, they are the only zoo in the US, not to have had a cub yet.
Atlanta is on my poop list!!!!

Redoubt Update:
AML, glad you are feeling well enough to blog a bit. I think everyone on here has been sick, except maybe for Deb?
oh no, don't jinx, Deb
Lynn, you could still deliver a baby. They still come out the same way;)
Of course, if there is a problem, then that is another story!
BRS is at Mickey D's....he is going to be driving by Bluefield again on this trip.
I did have a cold in December. I missed graduation, I had no voice then.

Hi Anne Marie. Sorry you've been sick, too. It's sure made its way thru' our ranks! Get well soon!
Sky is getting heavier and grayer....hard to know what this storm is going to do...but thankfully not the kind of cold thst Deb is dealing with.

It has taken quite as while to get all my favs on, but I have also added new ones that are not on our reg. computer.
MITS Could you send Wanda that link?
Brandon, her gs, is down at OC.

That was as about as beautiful as it gets, OUR Nest, still ahead of the live again but couldn't get a good screen grab! Did get one of the wing stretch, though!
BWE is up- can only see part of one egg- wish she would move over....
BWSE just checked hers too ☺
well we were going to mass, but jubby just discovered the Mt. St. Mary's basketball game on TV.
so we will go early tomorrow:)
Well, that sounds like a reasonable decision, Mits...
You know, "wherever one or more gathers in my name...." and a Catholic college at that ! My newphew is in the Seminary there...
There's always Sunday!

Be Careful everyone, watch the weather and the roads
Been lurking while doing other things.
All heading out...please get home before the weather starts acting up!
Dana, where in CO does your daughter live? What kind of winter has she had?
Decided I am going to fry up a mess of taters for dinner' so guess I better start peeling! BBL.
BWE eggs are showing!
BRS is driving in some yucky weather. His signal is cutting in and out, not sure if it is the weather or bad coverage. I guess it could be both.
Two of the seven eggs have hatched at the Hungry Owl Project box, maybe more.
Hungry Owl
Both eagles BWE.
Eggs visible again.
caught the "tail"end of one of our exiting eagles
Just got back from watching "Gran Torino" with Clint Eastwood. It's a very good movie with a good story. I didn't exactly like the ending and there's lots of foul language but definately a good movie. Go see it Jo!!!!!!!
Deb, I had never been to the Hungry Owl cam. She left for a short while and it certainly looked like more that 2 eggs have hatched.
Saw where Mits blamed Wanda for booting me off. Then saw where Dana confessed! ☺
well, glad it is settled, Lolly, but the real culprit is the Blogger cop:(
BRS stopped for today...
Saturday, February 28, 2009
Whew! LOL See ya'll in the morning.
racoon at Pix
I have returned... Hope BRS gets his
belly filled!
Thanks Red for the review - I am going to try to see it! I like Clint!!
I need to check some comments & cams
AND my emails are filled again!!!!!!
Darn, I wish I could have seen the baby owls, Lolly. The last update on the page was the 26th, so I figured there must be more hatched.
BWE Nest Update from Lisa
02/28/09:
An image from 6pm. No clear hatching seen, but the 1st egg won't be considered late unless it doesn't hatch by Monday.
Well it sure looks as though we are going to have a 3rd Split since Friday
in about 7-8 more comments.......
Hold on to your hats! This one is going to be a long Split - BUT
WE CAN DO IT !!
nice of Lisa to keep us updated....Paula mentioned on the blog the other day that the 1st egg last year was a 37 day egg.
BWE is awake again. I can't get Pelican Harbor open, any one else having trouble with that one.
Going to watch Cold Case - it's a repeat but I've not seen it.....
BBL
I got it to open, found a link on the Maine Forum that let me open it.
I know I was wondering and some other have too. I emailed Lisa BWE

Hi there,
If we did try less than 30 seconds, it was for a brief period of time.
Division #3, amount of plungers between 30 and 39 the #1 team again this year is.............
MAGGIES' MOUNTIES:)
THANKS TO ALL WHO MADE THIS POSSIBLE
