Things seem to be back to normal at the nest.
The pair was back in the nest soon after the tree service left. Around 4:00 pm yesterday the pair was there and at one point one of them seemed to be looking at the cam.
Looks like there's been more action this morning as well.
Fresh thread.

Wow, busy morning so far...
So we got to Lib and Belle up close and personal this morning ♥
Dana - the comment about part of the nest missing....was about the view of the nest...we can't see the launch pad as well...not about part of the nest physically missing!
Having to refresh here to get the sound back on...hope the new electronics will help that issue.
Glad to see ya Megan!

Hark I just heard a beautiful sound
2 moose and a deer on moosecam
If our cam were panned a little more to the right...you could probably see them in a tree over there that they like!
All done snow blowing. It is chilly out there, especially when the snow blows in your face. Brr.
No wonder I was so cold. The temp dropped 6 degrees in the last hour, down to 10. I had to dig out the bird feeders and then break up the feed. We had just enough rain to make it all stick together.

Late Yesterday Blog Comment:
I forgot to tell you that I did call Lynn aka Hedgie to let her know the
official name of Luney - It happened to be the one Lynn voted for. She is starting home with her daughter tomorrow. Said everything was good!
I didn't even mention the Ravens...
Back from the Dr - got some meds and an appointment in another 2 weeks..
Be sure to go over to see Pook's pics and comments about Primo's antlers.
Was 2 at BWO, now back to one
No sound at all from our nest now :(
I have sound if I refresh, Paula. It doesn't last long though.
Happy Birthday to Cindi and John and my son.
Florist just called. Flowers are on there way.
Jo hope you feel better. Relax.
Deb we had a dusty the other night. Hope that is all we get.
Thanks, Deb. I guess I would have to restart...no sound even after refreshing here...must be this old computer...only 5 y.o. but out of date already...
Eewwies at BWO.
Bad news from Barton Cove, there will be no cam this year. :(
I was wondering....have they located the new nest yet? I heard they had a backup...
Boy we are really down on eagle cams this year...
I didn't see anything about a new nest. I was just reading on the Maine forum, let me read back further.
There was an alternative nest before, but no activity on the island as of the past 4 weeks.
This is from Sharon Feeney, who lives near the nest.
It makes sense that FirstLight can't put a cam anywhere - at least until they know where the eagles will nest. I've been out there a few times in the past four weeks or so and haven't seen any eagle activity (but I didn't have the better views from the water either).
There isn't anything at the First Light website yet about no cam. Maybe there is a little hope yet.
Thanks, Deb. I checked Maine the other day, but hadn't seen anything new yet. Has Sharon seen another nest?
No, she hasn't. I was just checking Delta, too, and it has been shut down since they don't know if or where the eagles will rebuild the nest there.
MassWildlife biologists have discontinued the practice of climbing to the nest and banding chicks as the tree is unsafe to climb. Concerns have been raised by EagleCam partners for the viability of the nest and the safety of any chicks hatched in it. In response, MassWildlife and the USFWS made the joint decision to remove the ropes for the fall and winter of 2002-03 to allow nature to take its course with the dead pine tree. The ropes stayed on over the winter. The tree will move with the heavy winds. Improvements will be made at the two alternate nest sites the eagles have used in the past to provide a ready nesting site should the dead pine fall during the winter. A second EagleCam is already in place above the nest in the live oak and supports for the nests and improved flight paths and perches will be provided around both trees.
"New" nest was constructed in the late 1990's. I would think it would need a lot of work unless they have been maintaining it as a back-up.
For all you Moms out there. Guess this would be appropriate for Mothers Day.

UPDATE FROM LISA
12/09/08:
Special Note -
Our tree climber has been to the nest, and he adjusted the cam and checked all our equipment. We now have a more centered view of the nest.
At this point, our equipment is set for the start of the season.
Our nest is rockin & rollin...my sound is back....
That Delta nest was something else last year...
Is that the one that fell apart or struck by lightning, Paula?
Delta was the one in Washington or Oregon, can't remember which, where we could hear all the traffic. Both chicks were knocked out of the nest. The nest fell completely apart.
thanks Deb, can't keep all the nest straight
Hi Everyone! Deb & Paula,
I am glad you are checking out the sites that we'll use for this year's eagle viewing! I have so many saved in
favorites, so when you know which ones are active maybe you will send out a list (with links) on an email.
FYI - Ryan is safely on USA soil in GA
Thanks for all your prayers for I know that is why he has come home.
***Good Morning***

Paula & Ceil
CONGRATULATIONS FOR HAVING
BIRTHDAY BOYS ON THIS DATE
Took my meds but still want to get some more rest after I drink liquids, liquids, liquids.
BBL
I thought Delta was in BC
Yes, it was/is
On a back-road in Delta, B.C., not far from the Tsawwassen Ferry terminal, a nest sits so low and close to a road that these eagles can truly be described as "urban" eagles - and they had two chicks in 2008!
Believe it or not, Time Warner has been down all night ... shortly after I signed off last night ... until about 11 A.M.
I don't know if it was the cause, but we are in to another bout of Santa Ana winds around here.
I was going crazy watching the 'ready' light blinking on my modem and wondering what to do ... must have played a dozen hands of solitaire ... when I thought "why not do the backup I've been thinking about doing!" Brilliant! And away I went backing everything on the hard disk up.....
You guessed it. I got about half way through the process when my modem's "ready" light comes on strong and steady. Hahaha, isn't that the way it always goes?
C(°Ù¿°)D
Jim
That might be right, I just remembered it was up there somewhere!
I just looked it up, too, Paula, not far from Vancouver.
Talk about 'brilliant.' Look at that bright and clear picture on our live feed today.
C(°Ù¿°)D
Jim
you got that right, Jim:)
yep, it is a nice sight to see the nest so clear:)
ATLANTA TUESDAY UPDATE...
Tuesday, December 9
As if getting a name wasn’t enough excitement, Zoo Atlanta threw a party for its second giant panda cub, Xi Lan! This is my first season working with giant pandas, and I had the honor of attending the naming ceremony yesterday. I was amazed at just how many people are fans of this little guy! People from all over Atlanta and the world came to the event, eagerly awaiting his name and celebrating this tremendous milestone with Zoo Atlanta staff.
With a new name comes new protocol for the giant panda keepers. No longer can we refer to him with adoring little nicknames like "chubby cubby" or "the little man." Now it will be "Xi Lan" or maybe just "Xi' for short. I think it will take Xi Lan longer to learn his new name than us. Lately, as Heather mentioned in one of her updates, he’s been more interested in practicing his foot work. But no worries, I’m sure the little guy—Xi Lan, is proud to be Atlanta’s joy.
Over 45,000 people worldwide voted for his name. So, from everyone here at Zoo Atlanta, thank you so much for participating!

Thank God your Ryan has returned and is safe, Mema Jo.

I didn't think they looked ready yet, but both Hummer chicks are perched on the edge of the nest... probably won't be too much longer before the fledge now.
C(°Ù¿°)D
Jim

Actually, I think the Delta chicks fell out :)
Clutzy little eagles...

Yup, they are almost ready!
They are so cute!
It amazes me how long their beaks are already!
Hummers look to me like they are both the same sex..whichever one it may be.
I love it when they stick their tongues out to eat
Eagle arriving at BWO with a fish.
snowman on the snowman cam is starting to look like the Michelin tire man
2 eagles now at BWO
Hey MITS, JIM, PAULA, JO. I finally sat down long enough to get on here. HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you CINDI, too.
Got out of school about on time today and came right home to see how our nest was doing. Sounds like it is very windy there, AND doesn't look like there is any spider webs! Yes!!!
I see our little Atlanta panda has his new name. Wow, 40 some thousand voted. That is something else.
Hello, Candy.
I have been trying to decorate the house for Christmas. Still haven't made out my cards or crocheted the little santa faces for the children.(Christmas tree ornaments I do every year.) I am starting to feel a little panicky.
Hi Mits. How is everything been at your house?
NORMA I see where your Mountaineeeeerrs are going to play the Carolina Tar Heels in a Bowl Game on the 27th of Dec. Our PE teacher is a Mountaineer and is already planing a swigga swigga party at her house for the game. :)
JO have you been under the weather? It seems like once you get what's going around it is hard to get rid of it. Mine is still lingering and I am really tired after work at night.
Last night it was church for the Immaculate Conception and tonight we have a dinner out for something of my husbands. It just never seems to slow down.
Has anyone seen our eagles in the nest yet today. Just wondering.
Well guess I'll lay down for a minute before I have to get up and go again. You all take care and keep blogging.
JO so glad to hear your young man is home from over there and in Georgia. Hope you get to see him soon.
doing fine here, Candy...just in a panic like you:) too much to do and not enough time to do it, and here I sit waiting for eagles to fly into nest:)
they were there this a.m. Candy
I just cleaned out the end of the driveway and then ran to the grocery store--wind chill is -5, regular temp is 12. My fingers are cold!
that is way to cold for me....it is 54° here:)
That would be nice. If the wind would just not blow, it wouldn't seem so bad.
It's kind of a dull day today to see it, but has anybody seen any color in the live feed recently??
Occasionally, I get a suggestion of green (before the fix yesterday), but it was pale and departed before long.
Wonder if it takes too much power....
C(°Ù¿°)D
Jim
no color on my cam here.
I only get black and white.
Oooh, a swigga swigga party sounds like fun...
the only thing they did yesterday, Jim, was reposition the cam, the other stuff to come is on procurement...re: Steve's message from last week

Good Eagle Afternoon Everyone
Mema Jo :
I hope the wonderful news of Sgt. Ryan's being back on American Soil will team up with your medicines to help you to be all better Pronto ! ♥
They are both at Caltrans.
Down to one at our nest.
Lib took off
..and Mema - push those fluids, and rest! Germs hate Rest !
wonder why the sound this time of day will not stay on
One left Caltrans, now, too.
Nest work at both places.
So how did I miss the Eagles?
Trying to catch up reading all the Nes! Wah ! Maybe my cam is not refreshing because I kept watching...
:(
Wow, Caltrans eagle flew up to a branch, right at the camera.
There is still one there, Margy, although she is looking off into the distance.
poof belle
All gone!
Well, Deb turns out everything WAS all frozen up--had to shut down all the sites and start over...
Sigh, maybe tomorrow morning....
I still have to re-install QuickTime to see those Caltran Eagles!
Well, ISS might scoot through the clouds here in a few minutes...
Tonight would be as bright as Sunday's was (which I didn't see) - at a "-4." By comparison, our very bright Venus in the South sky,
is a "-4.2"
You folks all have a nice evening,
especially with those birthdays in the family!
I have to work my final 12 tonight...then off for a few days...
Peace, Love, and Prayers xo ♥
I see I missed our royal couple, my live feed was frozen on them...at least I got to see them one way or another.
Headed out for the party...catch ya'll later!
Darn, just missed em...
By the way, I stopped by Tom and Sandra's house Sunday on my way from mkt., they are doing just fine:)
that is good news, Megan....coming up on the anniversary of her stroke on the 24th.
too many clouds here to view ISS, it would have been a good night to view it too.
There is an update on the underwater cam at Bonaire--it will be back on line before Christmas!
Megan - that's great, to share some cheer with Tom and Sandra
...I had a nanosecond view of ISS - just as it reached its highest elevation then Poof....through all the clouds, I was lucky to see that!
Bright as Venus all right...
Full Moon approaches....Megan, name for this Moon? The Full Yule Moon or something like that?
Good Night again for the second and last time...
☺ xo
great news, Deb, that is the height of their season...lot of people vist then
Cold moon, bitter moon, snow moon, long night moon...
Thanks Megan...oooh, don't like the sound of Bitter Moon, maybe Snow Moon or Long Night Moon...sounds more romantic ! ♥
xo
Ok Margy, take your pick..
gotta get back to work, I hear the wreath machine calling...
Eagle at Caltran
Eagle at Lake Washington
poof at LW, still there at Caltran
The puppies were hungry and let Mrs. puppy mom know it!
Found another movie to watch this evening but I am getting tired. May not watch it to the end.
Lisa had new update that their tree climber has everything in order for the new season to begin!
Well my evening is complete!
We received our call from SSG RYAN
He sounded really happy and so
grateful to be stateside! He is still celebrating with mom, dad, brother, sister and girlfriend.
Just to hear his voice was good enough for me. Said he would be seeing us around Christmas time.
SO I am good to go now!
One happy mema ♥
that is wonderful news, Jo:)
You have your long day at the zoo tomorrow?
Jo, have you noticed how alike your avatar and the tree that Steve posted yesterday look alike?
Capt. Gene and I spent this afternoon and evening Christmas shopping and I am slam wore out.
GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE
SWEET DREAMS
PRAYERS
Howdy, all.
That is good news Jo. Should be a nice Christmas.
Yup Wanda, same view of the tree. Jo's pic is prettier, tho ♥
The Birthday Ribs turned out great, as was the rest of the meal...with cheesecake for dessert.
Christmas shopping will surely do that to you, Wanda. Have a good rest.
I'll need to check it out...
I was mainly looking up at our tree climber....
But of course it is the SAME
SYCAMORE! Probably about the same time of the year..
Paula you need someone to go with you to carry the bags like Gene does I'm sure for Wanda.......
I loved shopping - just didn't like
running to the car trunk everytime my arms were filled!
I won't be on here till tomorrow night. Mom was sick over the weekend, and still sick today. Has another infection and needs to go back into the hospital for a few days of IV fluids, antibiotics and such. She can't keep anything down. I'm sure she'll be just fine. But being the hardhead she is, she wouldn't go tonight....so I am headed down first thing in the morning to make sure she goes as she said she would tomorrow.
Hope everyone has a great day tomorrow, supposed to be warm, but rainy. That's OK, don't need any snow!
And Jo, time for you to log off and get some rest...I agree w/ Margy, germs hate rest! And don't forget the fluids!!
Now hear me true.......
If I win that Mega Lotto tonight
I will do so much giving that you
would know for sure it was Christmas
I hear you and I feel it in my body too - need rest..
Paula I will be thinking of you as you go to the aid of you Mom. Take care! Prayers for her health.
Good Night everyone
Peace to you and yours
Prayers for so many in need being said
(((hugs))) ♥
Paula, I feel for you. I know exactly what it is like to have a hard headed parent. I hope all goes well for you tomorrow and the meds start working quickly.
Jo, such a wonderful week you have had and to finally talk to Ryan, knowing he is home, must be such a great feeling.
Night everyone, sleep well.
Well, it is late and everyone has gone for the night....and here I am. Worked in the yard today...it got up to 69, then the front came in. Presently 34 and we had a few little snow flurries.
After blowing leaves today, I started my baking. Made fruitcake cookies. Also, we had chili and cornbread for supper. mmmmmmm!!!
Paula...sorry to hear you Mom is not doing well. Will be thinking of you!
Jo, you sick? Take care!!!
When Christmas is over, I will finally have time to sit and watch eagles!! I'm missing them now.
Better late than never. Have added some wedding pictures to my blog.
***GOOD NIGHT***
***TO ALL IN***
***EAGLE LAND***
jIM
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE...
We have a light rain falling right now, and it is a warm 53°. Cam is acting up, but we still may see our visitors.
Good morning Wanda!
Yeah, not sure if the messed up pic is current or not.
Hi, Sharon. That was my thought also. No way of knowing is the cam is showing current or not. I hope they get the cams straightened out soon. We don't want to miss any of this seasons activities, leading up to NEW BABIES!
GOOD WEDNESDAY A.M. EVERYONE
doesn't look like a good morning for cam....Morning Sharon and Wanda
Morning Mits. Busy day ahead, huh?
yes, Sharon if I ever get my eyes to open:)
