Glo - we had an Eagle at NCTC for part of the overnight, I didn't see her (or him) at 3 am, but just before 5 am I opened up and there it was! And stayed...
Well its a balmy -6 here this morning. Have no clue how I will get Dex out the front door and across the street to the neighbors but he will have to go out. I shoveled last night. Must have been great exercise as there is certainly no path for us to even try to find. Wind advisory all day and most churches are closed. Good Day for hunkereing down after our morning visit that is. Just heard an eagle at Maine but haven't seen it yet. Our nest is clear and pretty and hoping they will make a later morning visit to warm the soul :)
Oh yes the ice jams. Hmmm well they started like Fri night on the Rock River. That closes part of 280 aorund the cities when that happens. Haven't heard this morning yet only have the weather on so far. On Sunday local news is a little harder to come by. I think I will not go 280 over to Davenport today even if I do venture out looking for our feathered friends in the area. I sort of think today is an indoor webcam eagle day thogh . Its brutal out there.
OOh, I just watched the weather channel, everything looks verrry cold from here to there! And all points westbound!
There was a nice Eagle in the nest with a big piece of food, a second one came in and pretty much chased the first one out, stayed for about 20 minutes, then flew off...
Just heard a gaggle of geese giggling. That has to be what gaggles do. Time to bundle up and deal with Mother Natures latest winter event in my area. ttyl
If you need a morning fix of our eagles, I have posted a few photos of a sleeping, and then working eagle or two...on Wild and Wonderful. I am not sure if one flew away and another came in or if the same one who flew away came back. Too early for these eyes to tell.
Oh Wanda Thanks for the pictures. It sure did stay long enough to sleep for a while hmmmm. Sure seems early. Maybe making sure Lib does not re arrange the furniture again. OK I am really going out there this time.
I was thinking that too, Glo. Really early. I woke up sometime this morning, looked at the email and then pulled up the nest cam. Sure nuff, there was a sleeping eagle in our nest.
Morning Sharon just seen your post. Seen in comments where you had Christmas dinner. Hope since all but 1 drain was removed. It has made you feel even better. So you can enjoy the Christmas goings on.
Margy I love hearing about your grandson. He is a special boy to have his grammy in his life. ( : Just keep on telling us about him. I enjoy it so even if I don't have my own grandchildren yet. I love hearing from those that do.
By the way GREAT CAPTURE OF OUR BELLE IN THE NEST SLEEPING!!
Morning all. Only a half inch of snow here in western PA, but more forecast for tonight. Check out the ME cam discussion group for the brutal forecast for ME tonight--blizzard warnings. My DS lives near Portland and I know he works Sunday nights-yikes. My eagle cam visits this am were a big zilch, but there were at least 6 squirrels at the PA cam....I could have looked at my backyard for that. I hope everyone stays warm and has a blessed day. Be good.
Good Morning grannyblt! I saw that mess o'squirrels at Pix...they were a busy little bunch. Then the Gobblers moved in. Hope all will be well with your son, the weather is affecting many many people today.... just to remind it is really winter I guess...
Dana - thanks....for your kind words. I thought, Brayden was a grandson? I'll chck back in a bit for your answser....sciatica is going to lay me low for a few minutes.
Good Morning Jim, we had an overnighter (well, from about 5 am on) this morning at OUR NEST
Went to dinner last night, and gave son the Skins tickets for today...he was soooo surprised. Really fun! He's going w/ his brother, 2 BIL and FIL. They have already left this morning...going to tailgate all day.
Mom Update - not sure when she will be leaving the hospital...she now has a bone infection...and some of the medicine they are giving her makes her loopy in the head...heading back down today to check on her and talk to Dr.
Good Sunday Morning to everyone of you! I guess our eagles know that there is no place like HOME for the holidays! I was really surprised when I went to open my email from you Margy and then your pics on Wild/Wonderful - I thought we were planning a Sleep Over at NCTC for All of us Momsters/Dadsters DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I miss you guys!

Good Morning, Norma! Stay warm & don't worry if the feeders get empty. Stay in - The sun is shinning now here in the valley and most traces of the dusting we had are gone! I am awaiting the arrival of my son and ggd. Her dad is doing well with his back surgery recovery.
Good morning all. What a pleasant surprise to see Belle in the nest so early and for so long! Great indicator of future, I hope! Glo and Deb...stay in if you can and stay safe! Grannyblt, glad to hear from you. Hey, Jim!! Bet YOU don't have any snow or ice to deal with! I think we lucked out...just a skiff of snow, maybe a little frozen stuff...sun is out and the drip is on! Hoping that temp stays above freezing and dries out pavement, so I can make my little trek to Charles Town this evening. Paula, how in the world did mom end up w/ bone infection?? That would be my first question for Dr.! Praying still for her. More cookies ready to go in the oven...BBL!
MORNIN' JO!!---Golly---Our SUN is shining too!--I bet if I went shopping----& I need to go---I bet the sleet would start!!---ho!---I pray that your son's back surgery continues to do well!---Will certainly send prayers for him daily!!---Take care!!--You certainly have been blessed with such a loving family!!----MERRY CHRISTMAS!
CURSES!---FOILED AGAIN!!---CBS--showing parts of last night's RAVENS--DALLAS game----that was an AWFUL game!!!---yes---I watched it all---Last game played in the Old DALLAS STADIUM!!!
Norma, only bets I make are the almost-sure ones! LOL!! Paula, that is really rough....hope they have her in lambs' wool booties to hopefully prevent same thing from happening again. Bone infections are SO hard to clear up...has the infection been ongoing and treated, or was it just realized? Cookies done...Can Ed smell them, Dana?? Is he a cookie-monster??
Thermometer here is reading 46°-- AOL weather says 39...wind is whipping, so roads are drying. Yea! Oh, forgot to say GO RAVENS to all my Maryland friends! Great game, huh?? Sorry, Norma!!! Hope the SKINS can win today...probably will since I won't be able to watch the majority of the game! Paula, I bet son is thrilled!!! Good thing he didn't have anything planned for the day!
The thermometer here is reading -1 with a -27 windchill, so it has warmed up some. I am dressed warm for my trip to SF. The wind is supposed to continue to calm this afternoon, so by the time I head back home it should be done in the ten's. I am leaving early to allow extra time, but I have heard the roads are okay.
Mits I think your right. I take plates of goodies to the neighbors every year and usually I have teen help but they are sleeping in . They didnt even go to church.
Jo, my brother suggested I go to Ohio by train next year and I checked the rates. Its the same as flying. the experience would be nice and at least you get to see the country. I would have to change trains in Chicago.
Hey, Anne Marie...Mits is right...the teens can sleep through anything!! The only problem I see with the train--besides the time!_-is that the ride itself still hasn't changed much in my 59 yrs....still clack-clack-clack of the rails and still sways! But it would be a cool adventure to go cross-country that way if you have the time. Gotta go finish getting ready for my evening out. I'll have good music to listen to, too!! Probably won't be back with you all tonight, so prayers for all and see you in the morning light! GO REDSKINS!
Eagle alert--at the BW eagle nest--the first eagle I have seen today.
I went to the grocery this afternoon and the bank sign said 15, but the wind chill has it to -5 here.
Talked with DS in ME and they are expecting 8-12 inches. DS is a postal employee and he says that they are having a real problem with Christmas cards this year because some of the envelopes are made with really thin paper--like rice paper. The machines are tearing the front off and they can't always match the pieces. Trivia, I know.
GRANNY...that is good to know about the Christmas cards. If someone didn't get a card, then we can just assume it is torn up history at the post office. I wonder what they do with cards that may have money in them, and they can't make out the address after being torn...PARTY!!
Yup, looks like live feed and still cam are both working...sounds windy cuz it is!
I'm sure both my sons had a great time at the game...I had to buy 2 tickets, so John's brother Michael went with him....don't know if they're home yet.
Mom still really sick...I just missed the Dr so I will call him tomorrow. They just discovered the bone infection last week...plus she has the UTI and pneumonia. Got her to eat just a little bit today.
Paula, sorry Mom is feeling poorly, prayers for improvement, while we were out at a Christmas party there was a message from Ceil, should be leaving Chicago soon...I'll try to call her tomorrow.. Looks like they are around 6 to 7 hours late leaving Chicago
I am back home, glad you enjoyed the song I put up. The concert was really good, the 19th and last, unfortunately. It will be really strange next year to not go to the concert. I'll put up a link to their site in a little while.
Ceil will be further north of Yellowstone, but she will be close to Glacier National Park. I think the train even stops there. I'll have to look again.
HO, HO, HO!! and Good Evening Everyone! Thank you early birds for the pics of AM snoozers in the nest!! Haven't read all comments yet! Been straightening up, doing a little decorating (no tree up yet). Watched some football--SKINS WON! Saw a New England Patriot make touchdown--then he fell into end zone & made snow angels.Officials gave a penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct!!! SCROOGES!!Same people that penalized Santana Moss last week for wiping his shoes in endzone after touchdown. That infraction was called "celebtating /a prop"!
Read back some & our thoughts & prayers are w/Paula's Mom. I saw some of the Yellowstone show. At our Park Xmas luncheon Fri., Greg, one of our naturalists starting showing a slideshow of his June Yellowstone trip.I had to leave as I was working at other office. BOO. When I go back to Park in Jan., maybe I can have him set it up for me.
We watched Skins game and all I can say, is...Skins won by the SKIN of their teeth:) Right, Loretta? I turned on our live cam and the sound of wind there is less than what I am hearing here. Take care and hang on, our Beauties! It's suppose to die down early morning.
I know it's the bewitching hour, but I finally posted some pics from 12-20 & 21. Now we can check the nest during the night to see if anyone stayed!!☺ ☺ ☺
Good morning Megan. The winter weather has arrived here this morning. It is 7 degrees, wind chill well below zero. I forgot to be more specific when I prayed. I meant for snow, not bitter cold. God misunderstood me!!!
Good morning Wanda!! School is on a 2-hour delay here. I would certainly hate to be out there waiting on a bus this morning. Bless their hearts. They only have 2 days left.
Sleep tight Magpie. Shouldn't be a problem to snuggle under the covers this morning for sure!! Waiting on a morning visit from the royal couple. I thought I heard them a minute ago but maybe not. Hearing them in Maine, really looks cold there this morning for sure.
Gotta go out and fill the bird feeders, was gonna try to wait on it to warm up but the temp as dropped 2 degrees down to 5, so I reckon I better go ahead and do it.
WOW!! BBBRRRRRRRR!! Now, that was a cold job. I ain't going back out there unless absolutely necessary. It is down to 4 degrees here now, don't know what the wind chill is, but is it certainly bitter out there!!

Good Morning Ladies
A little bird checking out the nest. Maybe he thinks he can become an EAGLE...
Wanda I love the one of our sleeping Eagle you put up. Great pic! ty
Good morning everybody. I was just watching several small birds foraging around in our nest Not sure what they were though.

Looked earlier like a mockingbird or cat bird. Flew away too fast from our nest.

I'll be back later, all Christmas music spirit.
Here is a song from the group I am going to hear:
South Dakota Acoustic Christmas
That was beautiful music Deb

that was a great game last night, Norma...eagle was in and out at LW...something near the mic, or a part is just blowing in the wind
Ceil's first stop will be in Chicago to change to the next train...DC to Chicago takes 17 hours
My still image of our nest is up but I can't connect to the live feed.
I'll try later - maybe I need to reboot.
Getting my afternoon cup of coffee....
Son & ggd have gone for a walk - she said she likes to hike (4 yr old)
The game last night - well if you ask my gs Quinn - IT WAS THE BESTEST EVER!
Go you Ravens!
Hi gang! Its cold here and rainy
I think I would love to travel by train... BUT you can't get to Germany that way! lol
My girls are sleeping in. Its only noon...I wonder how much longer I have to keep quiet. I have baking to do. Teens can sleep forever....:)
Puppies are having a festive family gathering today! That is so cool for them to do that.......
my live feed is down also, still cam shows correct time, but time will tell if it is refreshing....cam sounded like it was loose
I just read Glo's input. I guess its not cold here. -6 is a bit chilly. It gets below 50 here and I freeze. I am such a sissy.
start baking now Anne, they will get up when pots and pans start clanging
My friend in Santa Barbara saw another eagle this week. Maybe its one from the Channel Islands.
Hi Anne! Teens can also sleep through anything!!!
LET THE BAKING BEGIN !!!
Mits I think your right. I take plates of goodies to the neighbors every year and usually I have teen help but they are sleeping in . They didnt even go to church.
I wonder if the smell of brownies would get them up?
Jo, my brother suggested I go to Ohio by train next year and I checked the rates. Its the same as flying. the experience would be nice and at least you get to see the country. I would have to change trains in Chicago.
I think the experience of seeing the countryside out the window would be a real treat.
Well its off with me. BBL
Really a blizzard in ME
Hope it stays way up north!!
Just won my game of Solitaire
Off now to check out a movie on TV and
wait for the little one to return!

GO REDSKINS!
still no live video here.
Just sat down to see if there would be an evening visit- no live cam here either.. very windy here, last gust was 21 mph.
Well, I join the rest of you, no live feed, and still cam does not seem to be refreshing...
Day is done, Gone the Sun...
and we would be seeing a hint of Boris's web by now.
Best wishes for a good evening to all, hope it means you can settle in at your own roosts and stay warm.
Going to work soon, will "see" you folks in the morning sometime...but not over a cup of coffee and a nest visit, I fear...
xo ♥
Heard from Ceil around 3, they are going nowhere...train stuck in Chicago
Two Eagles at Two Harbors
I said Pelican Harbor at first that was a boo-boo, so excited to see them at Two Harbors I about fell over..
West End seems to be down...
Two Harbors
Well, sorry, now just one.

Oh, Boo about Ceil being stuck in Chicago.... :(

GRANNY...that is good to know about the Christmas cards. If someone didn't get a card, then we can just assume it is torn up history at the post office. I wonder what they do with cards that may have money in them, and they can't make out the address after being torn...PARTY!!
Oh, I feel so sorry for Ceil. I guess her train didn't have a PLOW on it! ;(
Capt Gene suggests that Ceil stop at Deb's and borrow her snow blower and take it on the train with them:)
good idea, Wanda, but they aren't even going thru SD if they get going again....I told her to turn around and come back home:)
LIVE FEED IS BACK UP!! mt nest of course, except for spidey's web....
Watching Nature on PBS...it's about Yellowstone...
Hope Ceil gets going soon...wonder if she passes near Yellowstone?
LOL, they have wolfaholics at Yellowstone.
Wolfaholics got to see their wolves and a bald eagle too.
Sorry your Mom is having such a rough time, Paula. Hoping things turn around for her soon.
Paula, you and your mom are in my prayers.
Ceil will be further north of Yellowstone, but she will be close to Glacier National Park. I think the train even stops there. I'll have to look again.
I can't tell if it stops in the winter or not. It does say to try and be in the Sightseer Lounge for the best view.
SD Acoustic Christmas
If you go to their site and go to the CD sales section, there are 3 more songs to listen to.
I am working on a few pics I got, hope to post ASAP!
glad you had a good time, Deb...
I did have a good time, the drive up wasn't a lot of fun, but the drive home was easy, winds are way down.
I can't wait to see your swan and eagle pics, Loretta!
Deer at PIX PA.
Deer at Snowman cam with a note that says more snow is on the way.
Puppies are very quiet right now, just lounging around.
Caught some TV shows with music this evening. Thanks Deb for the Link!
Going to call it a day...
Peaceful sleep to all
Prayers for all needs being said
(((hugs))) ♥
We watched Skins game and all I can say, is...Skins won by the SKIN of their teeth:) Right, Loretta?
I turned on our live cam and the sound of wind there is less than what I am hearing here. Take care and hang on, our Beauties! It's suppose to die down early morning.
GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE
SWEET DREAMS
PRAYERS
I know it's the bewitching hour, but I finally posted some pics from 12-20 & 21.
Now we can check the nest during the night to see if anyone stayed!!☺ ☺ ☺
Wanda, you are so right. Sure turned out to be frustrating season when they started so well.
Well as Scarlet says, "tomorrow is another year"!
GooD NIGHT/GOOD MORNING
TO ALL
JIM
LIve feed still up:) MT nest- only 9° here this morning, going to be a cold day, highs only in the 20's.
Good morning Megan. The winter weather has arrived here this morning. It is 7 degrees, wind chill well below zero. I forgot to be more specific when I prayed. I meant for snow, not bitter cold. God misunderstood me!!!
Looking for our company this morning.
GOOD MORNING LADIES...
We are having a heat wave here in Martinsburg/Shepherdstown..13°, compared to your 7° and 9°.
The wind has died down, considerably...Hope it stays that way.
Good morning Wanda!! School is on a 2-hour delay here. I would certainly hate to be out there waiting on a bus this morning. Bless their hearts. They only have 2 days left.
Hey Sissy and Wanda:) Wish we would've had a delay, gonna take a while to warm up the car..
Good Morning Frosty Eagle Buds..
What a miracle the live feed came back up last night...
Pretty little wisp of something in the BWE nest, looks like a little broom!
And the Crescent Moon is a beauty as well. It's going to be a glorious but cold Sunrise...
I hope Liberty and Belle are somewhere snuggling and staying warm.
The pillows are really yelling this morning.
Hope everyone has a good day, and that wellness and joy are on the agenda.
Good Morning, and Good Night.
xoxo ♥
Sleep tight Magpie. Shouldn't be a problem to snuggle under the covers this morning for sure!! Waiting on a morning visit from the royal couple. I thought I heard them a minute ago but maybe not. Hearing them in Maine, really looks cold there this morning for sure.
Good Morning and Good Night, Margy. Sleep well:)
I slipped back under the covers til the house warmed up...almost stayed there, but have some appointments today.
New thread...come on over!
