Hello! I`m back. Had to leave for a while. We have an awning over part of our deck and the wind was playing games with it. Needed to roll it back up. It`s 19 feet long by about 9 feet wide. Should have taken two people but I did it by myself. Glad that`s over. Will leave it rolled up until spring.
Red,Paula and Costume Lady...those dishes sound delicious(sp?). We will try all of them.
Hedgie...You should really try the grits with the chicken flavor. They are really easy to fix and they dont have the "bland" flavor of just plain grits. You can use chicken cubes or powdered chicken base. GOOD as a side dish with fried chicken.
We also tried it with beef base and it`s good with Hamburgers and Steak.

Saw my first Slate Grey Juncos of the season today. They were trying to get thistle seed from the feeder but weren`t doing too good. I dumped some out on the railing and saw one eating just as it was getting dark. We used to call them Snow Birds I guess because of their white breasts.
Think they are forcasting SNOW for us???

They might be, but it didn't break when he tipped it over, that's why I thought fake. Maybe it is a strong, real pumpkin.

i checked and bears eat pretty much anything, if they are hungry enough. The closest mention I got to a pumpkin was a melon. I know they aren't that closely related, but both have an outer shell, so pumpkin is probably possible.
