magpie said...

Now we just need some turkeys to round things out...

wvgal_dana said...

Great minds Margy lol

Costume Lady said...

If I don't get on the ball and pay attention, I'm never going to see our eagles. Each time I get on here to wait for them, I get distracted and miss them!

magpie said...

Yes, it's fun to be having this much fun with company !

magpie said...

That eagle in the platform is big !
Fishing must be good these days...

magpie said...

I guess I would fly out if someone starting banging nails near MY nest...

Costume Lady said...

I see where DEB got home safely and was downloading her photos. I am so anxious to see them. I can remember when she was asking about cameras when she got this one...she chose well! Her photo of the Royal Pair in the tree knocked my socks off!

wvgal_dana said...

Our nest looks so pretty with the greens, white of tree limbs, dark brown of sticks and then the light brown of the leaves in the nest. Perfect place to grow a family of Eagles ( :

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Hey, I made it. Got lost there for a second!! Good morning Wanda!!

Costume Lady said...

Has PAULA given us any photos yet? I am not with the program these days. I don't have time to search for goodies or check out the Bluey Linkeys. What is the problem with Mason?

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Two eagles at BWO!!

MITS said...

I don't know Wanda, have not had time to check, bluies either.

magpie said...

Wanda -
basically it sounds like an insurance paperwork thing, the operation went well, and the family is trying to get him transfered back to Bryn Mawr...I think just a paper battle in the midst of all the stress...but Mr. E. sounds pretty determined to get it taken care of...

MITS said...

the Beautiful Mei Xiang is enjoying her treats from a bag:)

magpie said...

Paula was taking time with the pups, and posted a note on Yahoo regarding sales, and a thank you..last last night...busy work day for her today, and a visit with her Mom later this afternoon...

Costume Lady said...

Gene says GOOD MORNING LADIES. He really enjoyed the Open House activities. And the company of so many wonderful ladies. He thinks you all are special and understands why I enjoy this group so much.

Costume Lady said...

Oh, my goodness...he is telling me all kind of things about all of you to say. Helen is his TESTER for Eagle Talons...she was the first one to taste it. She liked it, so that is the receipe he uses. And then there is SASSY SISSY and on and on.

Costume Lady said...

It was good to have Margy at our table. She is a hard one to capture...she is like a little bird, flying all around. She did settle down long enough to have a good conversation with. She is a sweetie.

wvgal_dana said...

Later Margy...I know you'll be checking in...HAVE A GOOD DAY!

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Wanda, you both are just the greatest!! All of you are. It was such a special weekend. Hard to even describe to my friends. Definitely a weekend that had to be experienced, not explained!!

Morning Mits!! How are ya?

MITS said...

MITS said...

hedgie said...

Hi Sissy!!
Don't know if she got called in or not, Norma....but it's a possibility. One dispatcher sounds really sick, and it's a hard job to do w/out a voice!
Getting ready to head out for the day....bone scan...4+ hr. routine--all because I opened my stupid mouth and complained about bursitis in my hip acting up(which I've had off and on for over 10 yrs.), so Dr. says he'll sleep better if we verify that it's not a metastesis....felt like asking if he was going to pay the co-pay! Oh, well, it is what it is.
Talk to all this evening! Have a good day.

normabyrd said...

PLEASE TELL ME WHO SENT ME THE 'GIFT PACKAGE'??----I really want to thank them!!---Had the beautiful EAGLE MAGNET & OTHER GOODIES!!---THANKS!!---THANKS!!

LATER---I have a meeting this am!!

Good morning, everyone. I did sleep in, Norma. All my pictures are loaded, but it will take some time to sort them all out, get rid of the bad, etc. I took over 500 pictures. I have my work cut out for me today!!

I see where Bob said he didn't have people pictures. I am bad at that, too. No people pictures from Sunday. :( I will have to get some from Paula, Lolly and Anne.

MITS said...

morning Deb, animal pics are much more interesting;)

A setback for Mason: This is from the Caringbridge site this morning:
"We can't break Mason out today. Unfortunately there is a spot on the back of his head where the shunt sticks out that has become a problem. Remember the Malmut? His helmet was customized to accommodate that area. I guess it wasn't protected enough post operation for the cranioplasty. Dr.Aaribee will have to move the shunt to the front of his head. Surgery is supposed to be tomorrow afternoon, earliest release is Friday. If he didn't need the shunt at all would be preferable, but our hands are tied. The issue of re admission to Bryn Mawr is off the table until after this next procedure.

Were hanging in there. Love to All Brian, Mason and Sylvia."

Prayers for Many Friends, today.

Mema Jo said...

Good Morning Everyone!

Took a while to read all your comments and get thru emails. I have
been watching the NZ otters! One was playing in a pile of leaves! And now they are having water battles.

Beautiful day out there - Leaves are coming down! One of my maples is already barren.

I love to hear about all your memories from this past weekend..I don't think any of us there will ever forget it.

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

That must be so disappointing for Mason's family. Bless their hearts. They are definitely gonna have to learn a new normal!! Their lives are changed for sure. Prayers, prayers, and more prayers.

It was a strange angle Mits. Just one I hadn't seen before. Like it was behind the panda and looking out the glass towards the people watching.

MITS said...

there are 40 plus cams for different views, that is why I like doing the cams on the 4 to 7 shift when they are inside, only about a dozen cams to man then.

Did anyone notice our new title?

Shepherdstown Eagle Cam Daily

MITS said...

yes, I did.

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Yes, I noticed it too. Wonder why? It is still associated with NCTC right?

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

The write up on the home page is different too.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

I did notice that earlier about the name change but the blog is more in Steve's domain than NCTC, right?

MITS said...

maybe because of the school stuff Sandy Burke is going to do....

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

I don't care what they call it, just so they don't take it away from us!

paula eagleholic said...

Maybe they thought people could find it easier under the Shepherdstown name?

paula eagleholic said...

Or more likely, because it's not a government blog...or on a government site.

MITS said...

Tuesday, October 21
With the exceptions of the crunching of Lun Lun enjoying bamboo, the smacking of the cub nursing greedily, and an occasional grunt from either mom or cub, the panda building was quiet and uneventful last night.

Lun Lun spent much of her time away from the cub either eating or sleeping. When sleeping, she often chose to lie in the den with him, but not in the nest box. The cub seems to accept these new sleeping arrangements. And Lun Lun does not seem as bothered during separations from the cub for weighing or to clean the den.

All of this is in stark contrast to the early days after the birth, when the cub vocalized a great deal; when both cub and mom seemed to have trouble finding a comfortable position in which to rest; and, when separations were times of stress for Lun Lun and cub alike.

These changes are testament to the progress the cub has made since birth in both development and growth. Since his birth, the cub has doubled his weight just over four times! Yesterday, he weighed 2,198 grams (4.84 pounds).

Here's some scoop on Microgreens: filament-thin, delicate plants, the smallest possible incarnation of salad greens, herbs, edible flowers, and leafy vegetables.
