Phew I'm running out of steam before running out of things to do for sure. It is so wonderful not to have that project nagging at me that has to be done... feel lighter and happier than I have in a long time.

Nilla Bean - I do wish you'd get online and chat with us if you're up to it, and if you're not then you need to be having cute dr's stickin things on your chest (Now, now I meant stethoscopes -just didn't want to type that long word...) {grin} We love our Nilla Bean!

Mauley - that's a wonderful crew to love. I hope mom has all the time, patience and love she needs to give them a wonderful life together and to grow into the strong adults this world needs

Mits - we're praying, but an update would be nice?

NillaGlad you stopped in. Still sounds like you are not feeling up to par. Hummm what should I say to you about that....Take an aspirin and call Jo & Belle in the morning.
Sure hope you get to feeling better.
Vicky ILI'll check that out ty.

wvgal_dana said...

If that eaglet lays down that tree rocking that nest back and forth he'll go to sleep like a baby being held in a rocking chair.

belle_wv said...

Howdy all.

SO good to see NillaBean was feeling good enough to get up and eat something. Hope you get a good night's rest and feel lots better tomorrow. I will be out of town, but Jo will be checking on you for sure.

So nice to see the eaglet in the nest.

Frieda just jumped off her clutch. Still only looks like 3 to me. 3 is a good number, so we know Back on the nest again - that was a quick off and on again - not sure if maybe it is Frodo watchin now or if Mom just needed to stretch for a second. Hard to tell with the 10 second delays.

Mema Jo said...

I wonder if it is Sydney or Victoria in the nest in BC. I guess they come back just like our BigBoy, Inbetween and Spunky did or does.... I sure miss our kids!

Just Vicky said...

Nest Alert! Eaglet in BC nest!

belle_wv said...

It is one of em Jo - that's for sure LOL... Seems so big compared to ours, but I read on one of the blogs that the farther north the eagles, the larger the birds, so at first I would say it is so large that it is probably a female, but with the size change geographically, maybe not.

Does that mean our eaglets will most likely stay in the same geographic region because they are of a certain size and want to find a mate of similar size?

Mema Jo said...

Just found something funny--on the BC eagle site - go to forum - Eagles Nest-Eagle discussion - 4th one up from last topic "How do you know you have been watching eagles too much?"
You will really relate to these answers!!

belle_wv said...

I sure wish we could still see our nest, but hopefully the time down will bring about exciting new features. I wonder if they do still come back to the nest and if Liberty and Belle have flown off on an end of summer vacation together to see the country before settling in for nest repairs and a new family this winter.

Mema Jo said...

What in the world do you think the BC eaglet is doing? I thought he was about to lie down - but maybe he is just holding on so not to blow over in the wind ???

belle_wv said...

Jo - those are so FUNNY - well they'd be funnier if I wasn't guilty of thinking hmmm I could've posted that comment... ROFL

paula eagleholic said...

Good Evening, all!

Jo, I'll have to check out those comments.

I Miss our Kids, too!

Norma,
I'm done w/ school, 14 years was enough. Also, at this point, a master's wouldn't earn me any more money in the current job, and not interested in changing jobs. Been there for 27 years!

Nilla,
Hope you feel better tomorrow.

Jo,
Heard anything else from Mits?

Ciouple of glasses of wine does wonders for a hurt toe!

Mema Jo said...

All you lurkers come out and identify yourselves...........................

I have turned off the AC most of the day - It certainly has been beautiful weather.

Just had a visit from my daughter and she brought me some of her home grown tomatoes. They really look nice. She's the one who wants to take me to Hawk Mt. Then my son stopped by to say hello. He took my remaining Angle Food cake-boohoo! It's ok because my hubby ate all the icecream. Well, I'm rambling...
BBL I am going to be a lurker....

Mema Jo said...

Carol I realize you probably won't ever see this comment; however, I bet you 10 to 1 that it was a beaver you saw swimming in the river and not a groundhog. There are quite a lot of beaver down at the river... you can tell due to all the sharp pointed trunks of the downed trees. Just a thought.

No more word from Mits about Maggie's condition at this time. I know we'll all keep the family in our prayers.

Mema Jo said...

BC Eaglet taking a nap. You're right, Belle, he/she does look quite large. But then that nest has fallen apart - wind storm did it.

Anonymous said...

I am back from dinner---it was nice---PAULA---I thought I read you were shopping for college?---Don't worry I'm not with the program----NILLA---good to know you are feeling better---I still can't get into that BC Eagle site-----BELLE---Back to God's Country tomorrow---

Mema Jo said...

Norma There is an eaglet in the BC nest.

Try to get to it by opening beakspeak.com

Then go to Bald Eagle - British Columbia Canada

It will say Hornby Island
It is the one you want.

paula eagleholic said...

Norma,
I am shopping for items that my son will need while he is away at college - much more expensive than when he was in high school! However, we did get it almost all done last night!

paula eagleholic said...

Jo,
That forum on Infotech, about how you know you're an eagle addict is great!

If anyone else wants to read it, it is under "eagle discussion".

paula eagleholic said...

Just checked on Freida, she is faithfully laying on her 3 eggs.

Has anyone else found it interesting that falcons don't really seem to build a nest, just lay their eggs in the rocks?

Mema Jo said...

Paula I guess we enjoy them so much that like Belle said - we have said the same things! Good to laugh at ourselves!

Which college is your son going to attend? Just wondering how far it is from you.

paula eagleholic said...

Jo,
Glad you are not lurking!

My son is going to Rider, in New Jersey, just south of Princeton. Only a 3 hour drive. But my oldest will still be in the area, he lives in Emmitsburg now, but it moving just outside of Gettysburg in a month, but it is only 15 minutes away.

Mema Jo said...

Norma The BC eaglet flew the coop! But if you find it - bookmark it for the future when someone says - Eaglet in BC nest!!!!!

Norma, I had 24 sessions with the rehab. It is associated with the hospital & my pulmonary Dr referred me. I went for an hour each Mon,Wed,Fri. While exercising the staff (they were great & lots of fun) monitored your blood pressure and oxygen level. It has really helped me - I plan to exercise at home - I have the equipment - but if I fail to keep up with it I will enroll at the Hosp.program at the YMCA.

paula eagleholic said...

NOrma,
I can't see the BC eagles at home either, I'm on dialup.

paula eagleholic said...

JO,
Do you walk regularly for part of your exercise program? I really find it mentally relaxing, too, as well as being good for you.

paula eagleholic said...

Found the answer to the peregrine nest question on their forum, which is really good, take time to read it!

Greg says:
Falcons (falcons, merlins, hobbies and kestrels) do not build their own nests. Falcons as a group nest on the ground, on cliff ledges, cavities in cliffs or rocky outcrops, tree hollows or in the already constructed nests of other birds (especially crows, herons, hawks, etc). In the latter case, some of the larger more aggressive falcons may even evict the original builders on occasion (this is called nest appropriation).
Some falcon species, including Peregrines, seem to view tall buildings as fancy cliff faces and nest on window ledges, roof-tops or suitable cavities. I guess that one could say that skyscrapers represent big expensive nest boxes for falcons! The buildings don't have to be new either! I have seen some very evocative photographs of Lesser Kestrels nesting on ancient ruins in the Middle East and North Africa and Bat Falcons similarly using Pre-Columbian ruins in Central America.

JO---Thanks---I got in thru Beakspeak OK---cam "connecting"---but cam doesn't come on---w/try again tomorrow----Also--Animal Cam worked---I miss our Spunky, et al-----I took a similar class at the Winchester Med. Center a couple yrs. ago---I didn't go back for exercise later---Is that your hospital---glad you did so well, that's great---let us know if you hear from MITS---I w/pray Baby Maggie is doing better----

paula eagleholic said...

Just got a pic of Frieda and Frodo's eggs! Still 3, beautiful pink eggs in the nest. Boy, they look big! Guess I'm starting a new picture collection! LOL

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

To tell you the truth, I didn't play any tricks. I did go into the bathroom at one point when they seniors were having the freshmen fill up the water balloons and they had one little feller in the cold shower, holding him in there. I went in and told them to let him out and my precious little baby Andrew came up behind me with a huge tub of cold water and dumped it right over my head. Lots more to tell but too tired to tell it!

belle_wv said...

Nilla my dear, thank you so much for checking in again.. You know we're worry warts by heart... please go to ER tomorrow - shouldn't be too busy if you get up and get in their around dawn... after the night accidents have cleared and before the 'regulars' start wandering in

paula eagleholic said...

And of course, Welcome Back Sharon!

Mits is a Grammie! Info is on this log, baby girl, some complications, don't know what, so we are all praying for Mits and baby Maggie!

Paula I plan on starting to walk - mainly down at the mall. There are too many hills for me to handle around the development. For now the treadmill is great.

belle_wv said...

ROFLMBO - I forgot, going to have to start proofing my posts again LOL

LOve ya Sharon

belle_wv said...

Hi Paula! How's the toe? Hope it isn't still throbbing. You gonna loose the nail? I HATE when that happens

belle_wv said...

There are a lot of mall walkers Jo - I'll look for you when I'm there. We just bought a recumbent stationary bike so I can get some exercise - Getting a master's degree has packed on the pounds! Now I need to work to get them back OFF before my knees fail me

Mema Jo said...

PRAYERS ARE NEEDED

In my gransdon's company in Afgahanistan there were 6 killed & 6 or more injured. My granddaughter, Christine, (my NY gals) is the FRG leader and has received this call. She will not get further info until all families are notified. Families cannot be notified after 9 pm or before 7 am. She said she had been looking out the window everytime a car went by - looking for uniformed officers. I have a strong FAITH but I am so scared. Please pray for us.

paula eagleholic said...

Freida is back on the eggs again...have to laugh, looks like she gives the cam the evil eye.

Whomever had last possession of that can of wax, kindly pass it over to Belle

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

It is so good to be back in the real world again. Every time someone came down I would ask if anything major was happening in the world. As far as I knew, everything but Summers County, WV could have blown up and we wouldn't have known it. No TV, no radio, few phone calls now and then but not much else. My sister told me on the way home about the UK thing. Really glad our UK girls are okay and also that Geula checked in. Even when the world goes nuts, our little world right here carries on and I am so grateful.

There are a lot more people who are aware now that BigBoy, Ms. InBetween, Spunky, Liberty and Belle exist!! I shared it with anybody that would listen! :) Showed them pictures from my coffee mug.

paula eagleholic said...

Belle,
The toe is still throbbing, getting blacker too. Will probably lose the nail, yuk! Been years since that has happened.

Jo, my prayers are with you and your family for your grandson's well being
