Two Harbors - The eaglets are walking down a "ramp" towards the cam. That is why you see their heads and wings there - they haven't fledged yet...

Gave me an idea how to put wire on the inside of my nestboxes, instead of trying to make little saw marks for a ladder, so the chicks can get out. Like the wire idea much better!

Hello Dana! You're right about a lot of love in here - no one would dare go after Norma now that she bought that eagle cane! She keeps us straight one way or the other.. And I have not seen or heard of her raising cane - oops raising Her cane to anyone! (She is always raising Cane - after all that's her middle name)
lol All the new bloggers get to know her quickly and they love her immediately.

Boy Santa Cruz' last chick is really trying to fly out of that nest. Today might be the day! I feel sorry for the poor fella, as he is the only one left. Yesterday one of his siblings came back to sit with him for awhile.
Looks like our big girl is gonna attack the big meal, whatever it is. Little boy is watching, parent still squaking for help.

Santa Crud just had his morning poop shoot, so now maybe he is reaty to fly. :) He is really getting some good air time over and back and forth on the nest.
Puget sound eagles are still have awake. And yes Jim, Norfolk is showing some good close ups of the babu ? chicks.
Uh oh, parent didn't get any answer to the calls, so he's in tree now! Left the eaglets to fend for themselves. Left the mouse, and big girl is attcking the large whatever it is. Little boy just watching.
Here we go...steal by the little one. Or is that just a move to more private area by big one? Whichever, he's dragging it to keep to himself.
Pig. Dragged the big whatever out of the way, now has feet on the mouse or whatever the little thing was. Now dragging big thing again. Man, you guys need to watch this.
It's a duck. And seems that's the big lady, now has it on top of the little mouse, and the male is just watching...as is parent in tree.

It looks as Santa Cruz has had enough for the moment and is resting. Kent eaglets are both up and in separate corners.
Here comes Mama to feed the chicks? who are still on either side of the nest.
Candy - Santa Cruz A63 is an only child....
Two Harbors has 2 eaglets, West End has 3.
Oh yea, A63's name is Limuw - it is the Chumash Indian word for Santa Cruz Island.
Santa Cruz eaglet is up and looks like ready for more tries.

Hey Norma. Yes it is getting crazy down here. All over drugs most likely. I knew all 3 of those involved, now we have a suspicious death at a known drug hang out. I think we will soon see another drug raid like the ones in 85-86. They are going to have to do something soon.
Jo-Buta Buta was putting on quite a show earlier. Running around, hanging from the hammock, she will sleep good this afternoon. LOL

Kent chicks are looking for leftovers. Think it may be raining in Finland, looks like water drops on parent's back. Mrs B back on her 5 eggs, and still can't see eaglet in Puget Sound. good to see so many people on here this early!

Norma, # 63 has sreally been doing a lot of wing flapping yesterday, and again today. Maybe he'll be soaring high in the sky with the rest of his eagle friends shortly. Let's hope.
Eaglet still in BW, but you can see the fish skeleton by foot. Too funny...
Osprey still hanging out in BW. Our nest MT, cam comes and goes. PA falcon on ledge having a meal. Mrs Finland getting soaked, but water rolling right off looks like. Storks talking up a storm, pretty Mrs B back on eggs, WDFW burrowing owls are coming out, and Puget Sound eaglet back i nest. Maybe he was on a branch. Love the Kestrals, one is at the entrance looking like he wants to go. I'll have to read up on them, I read what you guys were saying here, but when will they be ready to fledge? One is right up to the cam, bottom of page. Wow, colorful! Well, wow, did they go??? Or one of them went, I think. Anybody else watching them? Yup, one in bottom of nest box now, one at door. Other one no longer there.
Also looks like the egg that was in the top kestral nest is broken. Didn't think it was earlier this morning.
Ah, BW eagle cam just went to lunch!
It's back, now our cam is out to lunch.
That Eaglet at VA is funny. Yup, keeps yawning and yelling!
Time for me to hit the road. BW eaglets are now laying next to each other, parent in tree watching. They get along great, if they'res no food around to fight over!
Mrs B is/was off the eggs again. Keep an eye out in case today is the day.
Kestrals are all back in nestbox, so guess none of them left.

The eaglet in Santa Cruz has gotten himself down to the very bottom of the nest, almost out of sight. He is working his way back up every now and then. I thought that maybe he was getting to take his maiden flight. Guess not.

Mrs Bluebirds five eggs are all still intact! No cracks visible.
Question: Why don't songbirds roll their eggs like the eagles & osprey? Or do they?
Looks like nappy time in the panda world. The grate probably is a little cooler, open underneath so air can flow a little bit and if water is in there it might be moving and causing a cooling effect.
Maybe I will go take a nap too. Too much excitement for one day. LOL

Jo, Mrs. B has been turning her eggs, if that is your question. I have taken photos of her eggs each day just to look for changes and nearly each time I take a pic., the eggs are in a different position. If you will notice, the eggs look as if they are polished. I quess it is from turning them so often and sliding around on them when she comes and goes on the nest.
MITS---SORRY! you aren't up to par---Not fun to not feel good in hot weather!!!----Wanted to ask about LITTLE MAGGIE---Is she better?

Thanks for the info Wanda! I remember reading that the eggs do become 'shiny' as they are incubated. She is such a pretty little lady - her face is so sweet (I guess it is ok to say a bird has a sweet face) because she surely does!

Catalina Update -
We’ve been trying to figure out what’s wrong with our Two Harbors cam and it seems to be that one of the chicks has pulled a cable out of the camera because we are net even getting a picture at the first receiver site and all the batteries are working well. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to get out there for another 6 weeks.
We are currently working on the West End cam. We’ll keep you posted.
