It looks like the date of my visit to Shepherdstown is going to be July 14. YEAH!! I am so excited about finally getting to see the ole sycamore tree, hopefully Liberty and Belle and all my eagle buddies (or at least the ones that can make it).
THANKS FOR the update JIM!!!---Do you know something we don't?--ho! ho!-----You are ALWAYS FIRST TO CALL NEW THREAD!!!!---THANKS FOR the new thread STEVEN!!!----REMEMBER WHAT TOMORROW IS!!!!!---IT IS WV'S BIRTHDAY!!!---HOLIDAY---1863---
I have to repeat what I just posted on the other thread!!!---Watching the STORKS this a.m.---I saw another "POOP SHOOT" from one of the CHICKS!!!---They have their backs to the cam & are SCREAMING for the other parent to arrive---FOOD!!---Remember they consume 9 lbs. of food each--each day!!!
I declare this to be the HOT, HOT, HOT, TOO freaking HOT thread!! Hope everyone is doing well, glad you are coming to visit us Sharon! No time for cams for me right now, sounds like you guys have found plenty to watch. Gotta go back to the garden, water, plant, water, water, water, hope we get some rain this afternoon, but not the severe storms they are saying we might get.
Thanks for the new thread, Steven. Good article. I'm sure many of us remember getting home from school, changing clothes, and hitting the back door! And in the summer, parents always used to say "Be back before dark!" Geesh, not anymore. But in this world, you can't tell the kids to go play and be back before dark...you might never see them again. Parents actually have to go outside with the kids! Horrible way to grow up! But I sure do think kids need to get out and enjoy nature! What a concept... family time. Thanks for the heads up, Jim. As usual, you're on the ball! Norma, got a definate close up view of a poop shoot this morning from Finland parent! Who was it that got it up close and personal on their birthday? Robyn? I was just glad I had this computer screen in front of me! Man, what a view. Tried to get a pic, she was too fast. Had to leave I was laughing so hard. Norma, not sure who has more spots in the stork world. Sharon, look forward to meeting you on the 14th. Megan, good morning to you, and man, it's hot out there! I water when I go home, but for some reason, when I get soaked, that darn water hose just keeps squirting me by mistake! But it sure does feel good.
THANKS STEVEN!!---EXCELLENT article!!!---I like the "LEAVING NO CHILD INDOORS" slogan----That says it all!!----I have 5 grand-kids!!!-----All computer & electronic games, etc.---but they live in city now & no big lawn---do swim!!!---HOPE MORE PEOPLE READ THESE ARTICLES!!!!---
HI JILL & MEGAN!!!!---I think of you often---hot--hot---but your FLOWERS ARE SO BEAUTIFUL & bring such JOY to all who buy them!!---That's a GOOD thing!!!---Bet you have a nice tan!!!----JILL---Don't go outside----believe me!!----It gets HOTTER by the minute!!---Are you still have long nites!!!---I hope you get some sleep--ho!--Did you folks go to Petersburg on Father's Day!!---
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE Thanks for the article, Steven. Get away day here at the beach doing laundry and packing for the trip home. I saw Tai eating his fruitcicle and Mei sleeping in the cool den, Jill. Been watching the Coast Guard for the last day and a half looking for a 19 year old man, who drowned in the ocean on Sunday down on 31st street. Ocean seemed calm on Sunday, but they had to go in and get several swimmers out, because of the rip currents, while we were sitting there. My son said the current was really strong.
RICHMOND FALCON has her back to window & you can see half-a-shell!!----GOD blessed the FALCONS with such beautiful eyes----I repeat that often---but I forget it until I see a MOM FALCON on A nest!!!
Norma-I don't have any family in Pburg now. Both parents passed away. The rest of the family is in Delaware. I did get some sleep last night but I have to go back tonight for 24 hours.
Morning, Jill, morning, Mits! BW eaglet still eating whatever it was he brought. There were 2 ospreys in nest, but now only 1. Our nest still MT. Didn't see them today, cam was being flakey. Mrs B on her eggs. Falcon ledge MT, but there have been some visitors once in a while. Storks are being their pretty selves, mom Finland standing over her babies and the one lone egg. Three owls in nest box, and don't believe the Kent eaglets have had breakfast yet. But they're waiting...
MITS-Such a shame. We were all taught from an early age to respect that water. As were my children. People don't understand it's not the pool or a lake.
HI MITS!!!---I keep checking on the "Little PRINCE" to see if he is keeping COOL!---Can he go inside if he chooses to???----Best Show in Town is TAI w/his fruitcicle!!!---How he loves them!!!----FORGOT to ask if "LITTLE MAGGIE" was at the beach with you all!!!---How is "big eyes"??---Each pic shows her beautiful eyes----Give her my love!!!----My latest "SAM" has just begun to Smile--Think he has my big mouth--ho!---But he loves me!!!
JILL. They saved the guy's brother and cousin, but none of them could swim at all. There are constant warnings, but people just ignore them. There is a slogan here..."Keep your feet in the sand til the lifeguards are on their stand". This tragedy happened around 2:45p.m. on Sunday afternoon. The lifeguards are on duty from 10 til 5:30. The rips were only in the moderate range. I am not a swimmer so I just go a little past my ankles. Love the ocean, but it scares me.
SUZ-- I missed the sunrise on the Kent nest, but enjoyed my second cup of coffee on the deck. Those babies are waiting so patiently for their breakfast!
Wanda, I bet you did, but I'll bet you had a very enjoyable time watching the wildlife with your second cup of coffee! Mits, that's too bad about that guy. Those riptides can be extremely strong! Got caught in one in Florida, but luckily I was close enough to shore to finally get out of it, but you have to swim parallel to the shore, and I was WAYYYYY down from where I started! They're scary! I'm like you now, don't go out far at all!
Good morning everyone in Eagleland! I am a little embarassed at getting on so late, but I have spent most of the morning trying to play catch up.
Jim, thanks for the article. More people should see it. Suzanne has it right. Those were the good old days, before all this electronic stuff and the children are missing out on the great outdoors anymore.
Sharon, lucky you finally setting the date of the 14th of July. Good for you. I am still thinking.
Mits, I don't know when people are going to start respecting the ocean; especially if they can't swim. We have so many rescues down here in the Outer Banks from the rip currents; people think they are macho and can handle anything. They soon find out different. Such a shame and a waste of life, plus it puts our Lifeguards at risk trying to or saving them.
Floral girl, I hope you have a reservoir nearby that is full. Your poor plants in this heat must just soak up any amound of water you can give them.
Suzanne, thanks soooo much for the good work mornings so we can all know what is going on in the early am. I wish I could have seen the deer with you. I used to see more when I lived up north on 2 acres than I do in the overpopulated Outer Banks. They are just beautiful. Glad to hear that your car didn't find one of them. They can do a lot of damage if you hit one, besides the fact that the deer get hurt too.
MITS-When we were there last year, they had unloaded a couple of bus loads of city people at the inlet. The poor lifegaurd yelled and yelled about the current and staying away from the rocks and the pier. He finally called everybody in the water up to his stand and gave a lecture about the current etc. He was an older lifegaurd and he was very blunt about what would happen if you weren't careful. Do you think half those people paid attention to him. NOPE. These guys train in that water, they know what can happen. I have seen it too many times. Never seen anyone drown but several rescued over the years. That guy did everything he could possibly do to keep people safe but if they don't listen what can he do.
I have been watching those ADORABLE DUCKS!!!!----I just wanted to reach down & lift those little fuzzy balls up!!!!----MITS---That is so SAD---Tragedies like that happen TOO OFTEN!!!---Feel so sorry for families!!--JILL---I'm sorry I didn't remember your family wasn't in Petersburg----Hope you have a slow night---but doesn't hot weather aggravate the natives!!
Norma, hot weather causes them to crawl under there rocks but when it cools down at night they get restless and come out again. And heaven help us if we have several really hot days in a row. Then there is a run on beer and you know what that causes. LOL
MILLER PARK ZOO UPDATE---They removed the cam yesterday (Mon.)---The parents began to ignore the egg---They opened the egg & found the egg had not been fertilized---Only yolk & brownish liquid inside the EGG-----That's so sad!---but they had many--many more people visit the zoo & it created a lot of interest in EAGLES---particularly for the younger viewers----& THAT'S A VERY GOOD THING!!!
JMHO, but we have the greatest lifeguards I have ever seen, here in OC, but they are all wonderful at the other beaches also. My friend and I sat here about 2 yrs ago, and, watched as 3 kids were rescued while the father sat on his a^& and watched, didn't say thanks to the lifeguard and sent the kids back in the ocean so he could read his paper. If you ever hear of a woman losing it on the beach here, it is me, because I would like to slap some of these parents silly:).
SUZANNE---Are the KENT EAGLETS feasting on a turtle?----Did you see its size?----Last year our EAGLES ate turtles---we saw the shell!!!---THAT IS SO COOL!!
MITS-anytime you feel like slapping one of those parents silly, you go right ahead. I will get you out of jail. LOL. Seriously, I know what you mean tho. We were all raised on the beach and one of my oldest cousins has fits if he can't see one of the boys. Now mind you these boys are 13-16 y/o but he still is a nervous wreck when they are in the water. We make fun of him for being so nervous but he knows what that water can do, as we all do. Parents who don't keep an eye on the younger ones should be slapped.
And yes, those lifeguards are great. From Rehoboth to OC they are wonderful. Other beaches dont' seem as caring. OR they care about the hotties on the beach. LOL
SUZANNE---DO you think the EAGLE opened the shell??----A friend came by who was quite interested in EAGLES!!---He said that EAGLES drop them to break them open---didn't think that was true????? Do you?
When the lite gets on that side of the nest---it's hard to see, I think----But could watch that nest all day!!!----Believe the nest is a true "work of art"-----
Norma, from watching them this morning, it didn't look like the shell had been broken, just looked like Spirit was pulling the meat out. Slow process though, and the kids were getting impatient. the one right in front of the cam now hasn't gotten very much, Spirit was feeding the little one a lot of bites in a row. Think this one is still waiting.
Good Afternoon Everyone.. Getting ready to go to an appointment..Not relishing the thought of going out in the heat! Took me a long time to read all of today's comments. Steve the article was sad but true. Hate to see the kids of today missing out on so much in the outdoors. Someone on another forum said they saw the larger Kent eaglet branching. Won't be long!
HELLO JO!!!---It is a "wee bit" warm today---GOOD NEWS!!--Supposed to get COOLER tomorrow!!!---Just checked on BUTA BUTA----don't know where she is---but I can't see her in the hammock room-----Hope the little BEAUTY is COOL!!
Good Morning all, Its one of thoes mornings. In the 90's again. I am trying to be greatful its not in the 100's. It will be soon enough.Thank you all for your posts this morning I read each and every one. I really think Susanne and God are the only ones awake that time of the morning. My alarm goes off at 6:00 and I have to drag myself out of bed.My high energy level is 10 to 3:00 and I'm sitting at my desk at that time so little gets done at home. I have a few birds left in the neighborhood but most leave the valley and head for the mountains when it gets too hot. They are not stupid. We too have had drownings in our rivers this year. Its sad. They have been warned and warned of the undercurents and dont listen. Its smooth as glass on top and a whirlpool underneath that sucks you down. They past a law just yesterday that no alcohol can be consumed on major holidays on or near the waters of the rivers. The intertube down the rivers and pull a 6 pack or so behind them. I'm sure its cool and refreshing but it can be deadly too. Also the wild birds were taking the plastic off the 6 packs and using it for nesting material. They would find beaver and muskrat with plastic around their necks. We have clean up days here when the public meet to clean up creeks and rivers of garbage. It was a great lesson for my boys on taking care of nature. They would complain when they were younger of having to clean up other peoples mess when we went camping. But it was a good teaching tool. Yes I finally found my phone. It was on my desk and yes I lived without it for one night. .
HELLOOOOOO HEIDIGIRL!!!----YOU are GOOD!!!----one whole nite without a cell phone!!---YOU CAN OVER COME ANY THING!---ho!----You sound like your feeling much--much better!!!----If you check back, PAULA has a video about an osprey that got caught in a plastic top---It was found & cut off!!!!----I certainly agree--This PLASTIC being thrown away is very dangerous to our wildlife!!!!
Hope everyone in the mid atlantic is coping with the heat, I personally love it.
I would like to comment on the article Stephen put the link up for...
"Kids don't think about going outside like they used to, and unless there is some scheduled activity, I don't think they know what to do outdoors anymore," Pelzman said
I agree many children today would rather watch cable, play their computer or rpg games.
Stephen if there was to be a summer program for chldren at NCTC I have 5 kids who would love to attend :).
Yes girls I made it through. I feel like I have been to rehab.I havent even checked the messages yet. I think I'm cured. I turned off the house phone because I wasnt using it. I was paying each month for telemarketers to use it.so I'm really dead in the water without my cell. I went to adjust a new remote control last night with the cable company and couldnt call to get a hit on my box. At that point I sat there and laughed. What a stupid way to live. I had to email my grand daughter at work to call my cell phone to see if I could hear it. She found it on my desk and emailed me all was well and it wasnt lost. I have got to get therapy.
Okay all is well in eagle land. heidi has her cell phone and Tom gets his surgery. Sandy I know you are relieved to have a date for the surgery. We will pray for a cancellation tho.
Heidi-we are all spoiled by the conveniences we have. Glad you found it, nobody needs any more stress in their lives.
Now if we could just get rid of the heat here in the east. Could somebody do a rain dance please?
Looks like Mei is still sleeping, can't see anybody else. Lun is up on the logs asleep dont' see the little princess. Earlier she was under the logs asleep you could hardly see her.
Something doesn't look right at the Kent nest. Maybe the angle but it looks like on eaglet is sprawled out no really doing anything. Other keeps pecking at it.
Oh Sandy I am thrilled for you. Yes it will be hard I wont lie about it. I promise it will be well worth it. My late husband was a tennis pro and had seven of them. He would get back on the court before he was suppose to. This was before I married him. "I would have slapped him silly if he had been mine". She didnt care enough to say anything.I have had only one and that was enough. We live in a wonderful world when medical miracles can be done..
Jill, I watched TWC last night and all I saw was rain over the east. I thought for sure you would get some of it. The overcast doesnt help your humidity.Yuck. Too bad you cant send me some of it. I am having to water every day. The air is so hot and dry is saps any moisture out of my garden. My house plants I put in the shower and put a mist on them for a few miutes.
SANDY-- I think we have all prayed for Tom and your family. Prayer really does work. Some of us are new to this group and don't know who Tom is. I think he must be your brother. We will continue to pray for him.
SANDY--I feel like yelling HOORAY too!!!---I am so happy for TOM--That's the best news we have had for a while!!!---I have two close friends that had the surgery----HEIDIGIRL is correct---it's hard at first---BUT BOTH WISHED THEY HAD HAD IT EARLIER!!-----Will keep you all in my thoughts!!!---GOD BLESS!!
JILL----Thanks for the info---you are GOOD!!!----I think SUZANNE is teaching you too!!!---WE JUST HAD SOME RAIN!!---temp. fell from 90° to 71° now!!!---Hope you all get it!!----Haven't finished my study lesson yet----LATER---
WANDA!!---TOM is SANDYSHAW'S husband!!---I agree it takes a while to learn everyone---I still have learned everyone yet---I depend on Jo!!---She knows all of us!!----ENJOY YOUR PEAS!!!--ho!
Clouds are moving in now Norma. Getting darker all the time. Should be about 1 hour from the time you had it before we get it. Unless it takes southern turn
Heidi-if we got rain I didn't know about it. Sunday night they said no rain for miles and about midnight it poured for about 5 minutes.
I do so miss chatting with everyone but I am at the wire of classes. I just took a final and feel I pulled an A. I have one more final left then I am off for a few weeks. Then I will be busy with yard work, home improvements anyone interested in pizza and beer, lol.
I only hope I catch all the fledglings before they depart for the season, I will miss them, they brought a sanity to me a peacefulness (looking for tissues).
I'll be back in a few days but will be lurking trying to stay caught up.
I am leaving Thursday night for a family reunion. It will take about 10 hours of driving. My family are ranchers. Cattle, horses and dry farming. It will be fun but work. RSVP about 200 kin. I have deligated as much as I can. I just need to pull things together. The grand kids are excited. Next time someone else can be in charge of it. I'm tired. I have a root canal on Tuesday so I have to be back. The car is getting an oil change now. My life is never boring. NEVER.
Anne I hope you have a better ten hour trip to your reunion than we did. We hadn't been back in about 24 years, and has everything along the way changed. I'll be think of you and praying for a good, safe trip to and back.
Sandy, You gave us all some good news today. I am so happy for you and Tom. You have had a long haul and now will finally be able to get the op done. And we will all be praying that an earlier date comes up for him. Candy
As of now, I can hear thunder in the distance. We could sure use some rain too. Oh about the price of gas; I just looked when I went out today, and the one on my corner was down to $2.78. Can anyone beat that? :)
Santa Cruz chick is doing a lot of wing flapping. It sounds like the wind is really blowing there. He must be lonely being the only one in the nest. He looks like he wishes he could lift up on the wind and take off.
ROBYANN-- Good luck on your tests. I am sure you will ace them all! ( Nothing but intelligent people on our Blog) About the Pizza and Beer--MITS & I will have Pizza and Martinis! (Oh my, that sounds awful!)
All you sent me was about 10 big drops.... lol Lots of commotion up in the sky but not too much has come downward yet. I want the temp decrease like Norma got. Sandra Best news ever! I am so thankful things are starting to happen on a good note. Will still keep Tom in prayer until he is up running around Shepherdstown!
I think Mema is right. I cant see an egg either. blue bird is trying to get comfortable. She is fidgeting . I got to see a peak of an egg.Kent is doing fine just looking bored. Owl is sleeping.Oh by the way I finally have residents in one of my bird houses. A family of wasps. After three years thats all I got. I have spent a fortune of bird feed and all they do is eat at home and live somewhere else. Sounds like my kids.
Mema we got about 30 drops. Temp dropped some but I don't think it was like Norma's. It says 79 now. I want 70. I think we may get more before the night is over.
All Calif eagletts are getting ready for bed. Benicia owls;which is about 30 minutes from me, are fussing with each other. I think they are getting cabin fever.Blue bird is resting on eggs. all is well in birdland. Now to get my watering done before it gets dark. Peaceful sleep.
Boy, all you have to do is crash for an hour or so after getting home, and everyone has signed off for the night already! Hahaha.
Gas Prices in Orange County: Per a site on-line, the cheapest today for Regular is $2.95/gal at an Arco. I usually get Union 76, and it has dropped almost 50¢ in price over the last 2-3 weeks.
Keep goin, keep goin....
I like beer, a glass of good wine, and I can believe a Margarita, with my pizza...especially in hot weather. I like the same with steak or spagetti or fish or pork chops or chicken or Mexican food....
It is 1:33 am. We had another brief rain shower. Of course it rained the hardest as I was walking into work, so I would be just wet enough to freeze in the air conditioning. Seems to be over for now.
Good grief, good morning, Jill! You're up early! Yup, still spritzing when I came in. Good morning, eagle world. Raining a little but warm, 74° at my house, 73° here. Had some rain last night, but not too much. Had lots of thunder and lightening, just light rain to go with it. Sure was threatening more. Hope Megan got some for her flowers. No cams up yet, but all have a great eagle day. Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!
You are not gonna believe this. I brought up our cam, and someone was in the nest! What's with that? Thought it was just more leaves, so watched the next refresh, and the white I thought was a head and tail was gone. I haven't seen anybody in the nest at this hour unless they had eggs or babies. I'll send pics around, you can see for yourselves.
I went back and looked at the pics of the nest a few minutes ago. I think the white is rain drops, don't think it was an eagle. So false alarm, they are still sleeping along with the rest of you!
Check out the cam now! Spidey is back from kentucky! He is on the cam, he is totally white because he is also totally blocking the light from getting past him! Ewww.
Well, Spidey's off the cam now, but he's at the top of the pic and still blocking the nest by blocking the light. Almost time for our morning visit, too!
Well, just crap! Spidey is still there blocking the light, so can't really see the nest. Good white shot of him and leaves, though. I THINK...THINK, there might be an eagle in the nest up by the tree, but I sure wouldn't swear to it! Hum, maybe not, white spot is not moving too much, so probably just leaves... Wish Spidey would go back to Kentucky. Except they probably have a clear osprey cam now, since he's back up here.
Ok, almost looks like both in nest. THEY ARE!!! Both were up by perch, now Belle by tree, Lib on/by perch. Dang spidey still there! Ok, both over by launch pad now.
We have an eaglet with food in the nest, and osprey visitor in that nest, falcon cam is frozen in time on yesterday with 2 falcons on the ledge. Finland chicks still getting fed, it looks like, and parent stork was away for a sec, but back now. Mrs B on her eggs, Benicia nest box now MT, or owlets are out of cam view, and the WDFW owl nest box is also MT. Closing that one, hardly ever see an owl in there anymore. Still dark in Kent.
Our BW eaglet is sure attacking the fish he/she brought in! Eating with gusto, not much left. Poor thing looks wet, too. osprey still on edge of nest, our cam going flukey again, Finland still eating, storks standing around, Benicia MT, Mrs. B on eggs, and still dark in Kent.
Oh wow, other parent came in with huge fish, one that was there was gonna take off, changed mind, gonna help eat the fish, then both took off. One chick is awake and wondering where mom and dad went with his meal. He's just looking around. Other chickis still asleep, and egg is still there, so doubt it will hatch now.
GOOD MORNING SUZ-- I should go down to Shepherdstown and get that fish and have it for supper. Some of those fish that the eagles and ospreys bring back to their nests look yummy. Mrs. B's eggs should hatch Saturday or Sunday, maybe befor then if it has been hot where she is. Having coffee with hubby this morning. BBL
Sent Eagle visit pics around. Put one of the BW pics in the Lib and Belle folder, sorry. Last pic at 0558 is an MT BW eagle nest. Chick finished the fish and took off. Sorry...
Looks like 3 owls in Benicia, and dawn is coming to Kent. Parent in tree, can't see much eles. Mrs B on eggs, and think storks just got fed. Sort of looked like it, but didn't want to see that too closely. Our nest and BW eagle MT, osprey still standing on side of nest. Finland chicks are eating, yet again!!
Dawn in Kent. Parent still in tree, chicks still sleeping. Finland still eating. Only 1 osprey in BW now, BW eagle MT. Our nest MT, but fish are waiting to be eaten. The 3 stork chicks are lined up all in a row. Mrs B on eggs, and 3 owlets in Benicia. And that's all folks...

I haven't been outside yet but it must be hot. Pandas at the zoo already have popsicles.

I missed the sunrise on the Kent nest, but enjoyed my second cup of coffee on the deck.
GOOD MORNING JILL, MITS & NORMA--
Heading outside to pick peas and beans before it get too hot.
TTYL
Wanda, you have mail.
Falcon back on corner, then moved over to next to building. Wonder if it's the same one that fledged this morning?
Norma, hot weather causes them to crawl under there rocks but when it cools down at night they get restless and come out again. And heaven help us if we have several really hot days in a row. Then there is a run on beer and you know what that causes. LOL
Finland feeding time.
Spirit is FINALLY feeding the chicks.
OMG, Jo will like this. Looks like turtle for breakfast!
Thanks, Norma. I thought they were going to remove it last Friday, so I didn't bring the cam up this week. Thanks for keeping us informed!
WOW!!! haven't looked at the KENT cam in awile. Where did the eaglets go:):):)? They are huge...what a cam!!
OH MITS!!!---You still have 'SPUNK'----Haven't seen you want to slap someone SILLY---for a long--long time!!!---ho!
The KENT nest is one of FAVORITES too!!---The CHICKS are so polite with each other!!---But that might change soon!!!
LOL
Sent email to NYC Red Tail Hawk group----Asked when the CHICKS fledged------hope they answer---
Yes, Norma, the Kent kids are still eating the turtle. It was huge! Keep watching and you'll see the shell!
BOTH MR. & MRS. FIN ARE IN NEST NOW!!
What a beautiful family!!!
Switch...one on chicks and egg left.
SUZANNE---DO you think the EAGLE opened the shell??----A friend came by who was quite interested in EAGLES!!---He said that EAGLES drop them to break them open---didn't think that was true????? Do you?
When the lite gets on that side of the nest---it's hard to see, I think----But could watch that nest all day!!!----Believe the nest is a true "work of art"-----
Time for me to hit the road. All have a great eagle/osprey/bird
/animal day. Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly! Stay cool!!
Checked the RED-TAIL HAWK cam at MIT---There is a CHICK in nest (hard to see--bad lighting)---2 CHICKS were born 4/19----BORIS & NATSHSA
Can't see the shell now, Norma.
SAFE TRIP HOME SUZANNE---STAY COOL!! & don't let GYSPY get sunburned!!!---
Norma, I'll send pics tomorrow, remind me. Outta here now.
LOL, Norma, she stays inside!!!
2 OSPREYS at BW!!!
Norma it is so hot out that I just cancelled & rescheduled my appointment for today. Even my one outdoor cat came into the house! That is Hot!
Since we know to plan for July 14th I'll see if the gates to NCTC will be opened or at least if a guard will be there.
It was on my desk and yes I lived without it for one night. .
JO---You are my kinda WOMAN!!!---ho!
I bet you either had a peaceful evening without your phone or you worried yourself as to what you were missing!! lol
LUNCH & ERRANDS---LATER!!
Good day all,
Hope everyone in the mid atlantic is coping with the heat, I personally love it.
Good suggestion Robyn! Let's just not talk about it & Read the statistics - Let's do something about it!
Need to leave awhile.... BBL
HURRAY! THE KNEE IS CLEAR OF INFECTION! THANKS FOR PRAYERS. SURGERY SET FOR JULY 10, UNLESS THERE IS A CANCELLATION EARLIER.
Its' TH not Kent. Sorry.
It's back up now. Looked sick for a little while.
Sandy, thank God!! I am so glad it is finally going to happen. I know this has been a long road for you both!
SANDY--
I think we have all prayed for Tom and your family.
Peace.
NEVER.
Anne
I hope you have a better ten hour trip to your reunion than we did. We hadn't been back in about 24 years, and has everything along the way changed. I'll be think of you and praying for a good, safe trip to and back.
Sandy,
You gave us all some good news today.
Three birds calmly sitting and watching out to sea at something. They look like statues.
Two Harbors just sitting around and looking too. Santa Cruz seems restless. I wonder if he'll take off sometime today. Might be too young yet.
It is feeding time at Puges Sound. I can only see parent and one chick. The other one might be off to the side.
ROBYANN--
Good luck on your tests. I am sure you will ace them all! ( Nothing but intelligent people on our Blog)
About the Pizza and Beer--MITS & I will have Pizza and Martinis! (Oh my, that sounds awful!)
I will take a margerita with my pizza. LOL
Thunder and rain here right now, looks to be moving on. Watch out Jo,looks like it is getting bad in your area.
I use to tend bar I can handle those just not the taste.
Boo Hoo! I think that EggMate disappeared from the PugetSound nest. I'll keep looking but I didn't see it just now.
Dinner time........... BBL
I got my small job of watering done - only potted plants on the deck.
Going to call it a day...
Good Night everyone
Peace be with you and yours
Good Morning Suzanne - the pics you sent with the PA falcon fledging were great
GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE No rain in Bethesda:(.
GOOD NIGHT/GOOD WEDNESDAY MORNING, ALL....
Boy, all you have to do is crash for an hour or so after getting home, and everyone has signed off for the night already! Hahaha.
Gas Prices in Orange County:
Per a site on-line, the cheapest today for Regular is $2.95/gal at an Arco.
Have a restful night and a great day tomorrow...
Jim
It is 1:33 am. We had another brief rain shower. Of course it rained the hardest as I was walking into work, so I would be just wet enough to freeze in the air conditioning. Seems to be over for now.
Good Morning Suzanne.
Ewww.
Well, Spidey is still hanging on the cam lens. Very white, he is.
Can see them both better now, but still wish spidey would go away!
Oh thank goodness! Little twit moved off the light. BUT...he's doing the web thing again. lib and Belle still there!
Oh joy, now we're getting small black lines across the pic. Refresh, best pic yet!
0533 and they're still there, but now small black lines, and long white lines are too. Spidey left, though. Oh nother refresh, good pic!
Dang, Belle just left. Lib looking where she was.
Lib still on side perch, between 2 and 3, just looking out at the world.
Looks like Finland chicks are getting fed, but the chicks are under parent's shadow.
Lib still there, but hard to see now. Lines come and go.
Clear shot of Lib now, he's facing in the nest.
Well darn! Lib just left too. At least we know they're both ok and still around.
EAGLE ALERT!! Someone back, but so are the psycho spots and lines.
Wow, clear pic! Belle brought a fish for breakfast!!
She's moving over by the tree, fish still there.
Crap! Psycho dots and lines back. Belle still there.
She's over by tree, fish behind her.
BW eaglet has fish all gone. Made short order of that!
Belle still there. White lines back.
BW eaglet just left.
Dang, Belle just left too, but left the fish. Wonder if the fish is for Liberty? Let's see if he shows back up and eats it.
Oh, parent just left in Finland. Well, that lasted 10 seconds, cause they're back!
Both chicks are now awake and wtching for mom. Never mind, she's back...with fish.
Well...or not. She's back, but can't tell if she brought the fish with her.
GOOD MORNING SUZ--
I should go down to Shepherdstown and get that fish and have it for supper. Some of those fish that the eagles and ospreys bring back to their nests look yummy.
Mrs. B's eggs should hatch Saturday or Sunday, maybe befor then if it has been hot where she is.
Having coffee with hubby this morning. BBL
Yup, she brought the fish back.
Awww, she's looking at the babies, the babies are looking at the fish.
Food must have gone in the pantry for later...parent just settled down, and chicks are just keeping an eye on the "pantry." OR going back to sleep...
Both parents in Finland nest.
Now just one.
Feeding time again. They're not eating the fish, they're eating something else they brought in.
Sent Eagle visit pics around. Put one of the BW pics in the Lib and Belle folder, sorry. Last pic at 0558 is an MT BW eagle nest. Chick finished the fish and took off. Sorry...
Finland chicks are awake and looking around. Parent off nest.
Parent back. They sure don't stay gone long!
Oh man, good morning, Wanda! I missed you! Didn't even see you on here. Enjoy your coffee with hubby, and I'll talk to you when you get back.
Uh oh, Kent parent just left. Must be going fishing for breakfast!
NEW THREAD---COME ON OVER!!!
