GOOD "HOT" FRIDAY MORNING EVERYONE Going to be a scorcher, and I'm headed back to Bethesda. There is a JUNE 6th preganancy update on the panda page. It explains how she may, or, may not be pregnant. Mei did have 2 pseudo-pregancies in 2003 and 2004. So if anything is going to happen, they think the outcome will be known sometime in July. Keep your fingers crossed.

Hi JO & MITS (or is it "Thelma") Norma, I was torn between watching Paris' adventures or Mrs B and her new egg. Mrs. B won. Paris would be devistated if she knew! I just had a very nice long comment typed and our electricity went off briefly - But I lost it all!
ButaButa still playing around Lulu Loonie still watching from the nest her mother in the water. Loons are great divers (in case you see her disappear for awhile) The mother Owl has not returned on Wildwatch ... She didn't have any eggs or owlets.
Norma, do you remember the Hilton who came to Grant/Pendleton County looking for a wife? He ended up marrying a girl from Upper Tract. They have at least 2 kids around Paris' age but you never hear anything about them. He wanted a wife who wasn't after his money so he changed the spelling of his name, fell head over heels for this girl and she wouldn't have anything to do with him for a long time. Then finally went out with him. Didn't know until almost time for the wedding who he really was.
JO-- You are absolutely right! I read the same article as you and looked up some others and 24-48 hrs. is a BIG mistake on the part of whomevet wrot the info on the Loon Cam page.
They are having FUN - I know they love the work they do! That is the wonderful part in all this! They will have one climber to go up that 40ft tree (in hopes that mom & dad have left) They will gently take Peeps and place him/her (MTBR) into the Blue Bag and lowered down to Dr Sharpe...

well they are set up and ready to go ...that was fun to watch and actually listen fo for a while. Banding is about noon Ca time. Glad a couple of you at least I know have the info.
JO-- Your are not ALONE. I am watching also. Right now, all I have is a still picture. Just after the Eagle was fussing, the cam went still. Yours too?
Good afternoon all. Jo I'm a "lurker" today. Its pay day and I'm not getting much done except handing out money. I wouldnt be much of a drug addict. I have 1/2 a codeine in me and I'm loopy.I can still feel the tooth pain. Aspirn does a better job. I wish I could throw the pills away and get a large glass of wine. It would make me feel better. Oh well, Monday is one day closer.I think Steven has the right idea.
I wont share my feelings on this Paris junk.It makes my blood pressure go up just thinking about it. Mits I think you should go to the beach for all of us that cant go. Wiggle your toes in the sand and relax. I am going to make my rounds checking on the little ones. Back later.
My SC cam isn't frozen now. Sweet Peeps is walking around the nest. They may not start until 12:00 CA time. They were fixing the cam earlier. Guess I'll check some other cams while we're waiting for 12 noon. We'll be able to see them remove Sweet Peeps from the nest but then it will be awhile before the return is made. ... EXCITING... Wish we had smileys on this site to use !!
Jo is the S/C sight really dark on your moniter? It looks like night to me and I know it isnt.Maybe it is night. With all the drugs I have in me it could be Sunday and I wouldnt know it.
Others over on the IWS forum had noted the darkness of the screen. They mentioned that they had to Lighten the Screen... I am not certain if they meant the Media Player or the monitor. I am afraid to fool around and lose it all lol
No Mema Jo I have an appointment this afternoon. "Your" Real Expert on the Catalina cams will probably be filming. I am going to set mine to capture but have never done that and left before. Oh guess I already said that earlier. OK Bye Bye
This young man "the climber" usually is the one who does this for DrSharpe He has quite a profile & would go climbing each day if he could! I'll try to find the profile again on IWS. He wrote a very interesting intro about himself.
I sneaked some info from the IWS forum: My screen is very dark.....I've brightened it to it's maximum, but still very dark. Is anyone else getting the same thing???
I dont have sound so I'm depending on you guys at home. All the movement makes me dizzy as if I wasnt all ready. And if I can take a cab to work because I'm on meds little missy can get someone to drive her too when she shouldnt be driving. There are too many people serving time for doing less than she did. Now back to important things like birds.
JILL-- I bet she won't be in there more than another week at the most. Remember, she is an actress and can fake very well. Even I can fake a nervous breakdown--I really don't have to fake it!
I am going to have a nervous breakdown if they don't soon get that video straightened out. I'm afraid we will miss it (if not already)
I don't actually sentence people but it is not unheard of to see somebody in WV get 1 day for DUI. 30 days for driving suspended. She was driving suspended 2 times.
Faking isn't an option. Every cop, lawyer, judge and guard from here to CA and back has seen it all. And the faking won't get her anywhere anyway.
Paris has cousins who you never ever hear about. They have just as much as she does but they were raised better. They weren't spoiled, they were taught manners, they were punished when they got into trouble. And as I understand it, they get an allowance as long as they have a job. HUMMMMMMM.
Wanda, just read where they trapped a bear at the VA hospital. Apparently it was in a tree out there all night and they tranquilized it and carted it off.
You have to remember that eaglets have never heard human voices and so not much talking seems to be going on while they do this. Human feelings would be to talk to the eaglet and calm her/him - but that wouldn't work.
Wanda, it doesn't say how old the bear was but from the picture it is full grown or close to it. They took one out of Cargill last month. Could be the same one. There is one that lives just off of 81 near King Street. Doesn't really bother anybody but occasionally you see it fishing in the stream or walking across the road.
It was simply awesome.. I really feel fortunate to have seen all of that. Best 2hr+ performance of the day. I really liked Jim's actions before he was able to grab A63's foot. He teased him with the broken branch over to the right to get his/her attention and then it was a 'bird in hand'.
Good evening Well, it is Friday night and either everyone is out on the town OR just plain talked out from all the excitement of watching the banding at Santa Cruz. You know how we say that we have had enough excitement for one day - That is how I feel. I will be signing off shortly. All pics of Suzanne's from this week are in the album over on Momsters'. Take a peek!
I have not found Mrs Owl over on the WildWatch cam. Nor did Mrs Bluebird come into the nest this evening that I was able to see - still 2 eggs.May be another one tomorrow. I'll have to ask Wanda about that. Did not see the Loonie family come back to the platform this evening. It was almost dark when I last looked. BW nest is empty and have not been able to access the NE cam for a few days.
Hi Jo-- We did have a big afternoon didn't we!! I was so spellbound, I couldn't pull myself away for fear I would miss something. I was going to ask you where the parents were but I think you asked the question also. Calling it a day--talk to you tomorrow.

Got your message JO--Thanks!

Your are not ALONE.
Back later.
Well, thanks to my sister who just called and gave me the update on SC. Thanks , Sis for keeping me posted:):)!
Where is PAULA, "OUR" REAL EXPERT ON THE CHANNEL ISLAND CAMS:):):)!
Jo is the S/C sight really dark on your moniter? It looks like night to me and I know it isnt.Maybe it is night. With all the drugs I have in me it could be Sunday and I wouldnt know it.
Dr Sharpe confirmed 12:00 CA start time. Oh I do hear Sweet Peeps calling!
Glo I hope you're able to capture it.
OK Bye Bye
Yes, Annemarie my screen is dark also. Its not your drugs.
On my monitor I held the button down & I am at the max for brightness.
Almost count down time ----
This young man "the climber" usually is the one who does this for DrSharpe
He has quite a profile & would go climbing each day if he could! I'll try to find the profile again on IWS. He wrote a very interesting intro about himself.
LOOK FOR A BLUE BAG
Me too and its still dark. Oh well I can still see it just dark.
I sneaked some info from the IWS forum:
My screen is very dark.....I've brightened it to it's maximum, but still very dark. Is anyone else getting the same thing???
Yes, I had to go into the MediaPlayer VIEW/ENHANCEMENTS and lighten there.
I closed my window blinds and that helped some.....noisy bugger.
Ok, went there, Jo, which enhancement do I enhance, there are about 6 catagories.
someone is closeby...hear their voice.
I SEE THE LIGHT
I didn't know I had so many setting on my Window Media......
eaglet has gotten quiet all of a sudden.
View - Enhancements - Video Settings
First try the RESET and see if that helps. Right now I have all catagories right in the middle.
Move the brightness and contrast to the right and then returen to visualization pane
Might not do any good, got crazy cam at the wrong time.
Man, cam is loony now.
Everyone is getting the freezing
It is probably due to the amount of viewers..... Just makes it difficult for any videos being recorded.
Losing cam - voices heard......
I am reading the IWS forum
You all can go over their It is on
nest updates....
Afraid to touch it right now.
It's back on. Whew.
Hey, Paula, know you are busy, but glad you are here.
Ah-Ha, a little cam adjustment going on:).
Lil' Miss Hilton is back in jail. Not for the rest of the 23 days but for 45. Supposedly they carried her kicking and screaming from the court room
Paula - Is it a blue wingbling with
A-36 or A-63
How about them there apples, Jill.
About time someone puts a handle on
that young gal!
LOL, poor Miss Hilton, since when is she above the law. What would you give her, Jill?
WHOA!!! I thought someone fell out
of the tree at SC the way the camera swayed!
Holy Quacomole...what is all that wtiting on the cam?
Blue A63
Eaglet is just looking at them, as if, to say....What are you doing up here???
They are adjusting camera so they can tape it also.
Did you just see Peter?
Yes, and I can hear his soothing voice, but wind noise is brutal, so I can't make out what he is saying.
Mits, you have time to play with it.
HOW COOL IS THIS
Feels like you right there with him going up and up into that tree.....
Sweet Peeps is hoping there is a very large fish inside that blue bag lol
This is so cool!
JILL--
I bet she won't be in there more than another week at the most. Remember, she is an actress and can fake very well. Even I can fake a nervous breakdown--I really don't have to fake it!
I am going to have a nervous breakdown if they don't soon get that video straightened out. I'm afraid we will miss it (if not already)
Oh my, eaglet is upset!!
I hope we don't have a premature
fledging...........
This guy Jim Spickler is really good - very patiet
Wow, what a snag!!!
Jim Just threw away a great souvenier (sp?) Lots of eagleholics would have paid big bucks for the small limb.
Beak wide open.LOL
Limb is still there, Jo. Not quite off yet.
I was concerned he might bite. That beak could really do some damage. This is a wonderful experience.
WOW:):):)!
AWESOME HANDLING OF THE EAGLET
Who says this isn't an educational blog!
HUMMMMMMM.
I couldn't get over the size of the eaglet... That was one big bird!
Jim was so gentle with getting him/her into the bag.
Question: Did Jim climb down to wait
for the banding to be done OR is he sitting up somewhere out of sight in the tree?
They are showing eaglet on the ground now, getting it's portrait taken
Wanda, just read where they trapped a bear at the VA hospital. Apparently it was in a tree out there all night and they tranquilized it and carted it off.
WOW Group Picture! Now we know
How many people does it take to
band one eaglet?
They hooded the eaglet to keep it calm! Definitely needed it!! What an eaglet!
LOL, TOOK TRASH DOWNSTAIRS, WHEN i CAME BACK UP, THOUGHT THEY WERE DOING SHADOW PUPPETS, THEN REALIZED IT WAS THE EAGLETS' HEAD:):):)
Hey There Jill - Bring up the Santa Cruz windows' media Big History Making Event!!!
that chicks claw is as big as a man hand! Wow.
Putting leg band on
Now for the bling! Did you see the blue 63 markers layin on the ground
Blood test will determine sex
Drawing blood sample first
OUCH!!!!!
Band on right leg means it is probably a boy
Hope they don't drain him/her dry of all that good ole' red American blood.
No wonder they are weak when they go back to nest & want to rest. I wish they would give a fish as a reward!
NOw for the bling - love the tackle box!
Hey Mits. I am watching that too. Getting whiplash turning from TV screen to computer.
Now for the GPS transmitter
thay look like they are dressing him for the prom.
What are the strings?
They say the GPS Transmitter lasts for about 2 years.
Great Jill! My hubby comes out with all newsworthy items & it was funny that I knew before he told me due to your comments! lol
Hey, you cant' say we arent informed about all the newsworthy items of the day. LOL
I wonder if Mom or Dad is up around or over the nest......
Strings could be part of the harness for the transmitter.
Poor thing. Don't know I would be that calm if somebody blindfolded me and took me out of my home. LOL
You have to remember that eaglets have never heard human voices and so not much talking seems to be going on while they do this. Human feelings would be to talk to the eaglet and calm her/him - but that wouldn't work.
UH OH. Better hurry tape is running out.
I thought it just now looked as if they were putting stiches in him/her.
The person holding the eaglet is talking but you can't hear it for the wind I guess. Mouth keeps moving.
I think they are stitching the harnes with wire. Or at least that is what it looked like.
Has the cam stopped??
It stops and starts. Think they are conserving tape.
JILL--
Was it a full-grown or a cub? Wow, getting close to me--three miles up the road!
Tape ran out.
ok, now a black screen.
I don't know if it said. Check your4state.com or herald mail. That is where I saw it. Straight shot it probably isn't 3 miles.
UP & FILM ROLLING
I think it is thread - so it can fall off in 2-3 years. Wire might hurt the eagle and wouldn't deteriorate.
MIght have been heavy twine or something looked silver tho.
looks like it is refreshing every 5 seconds.
Look at the talons on that thing. They are huge. Could do some serious injury if it wanted to.,
I think that A63 is ready for the big climb up to the nest! What a show.
There's that guy in the wide brim hat!
mine is moving all the time/
Welcome home little buddy, have a great life:).
Said it before, will say it again....WOW!.
Did he almost fall?
There comes the BLUE
I think that Jim has best leave while the leaving is good..........
I am waiting for a phyrfly birthday present. LOL
Bye Birdie..Good luck is what he just said...lol!
I dont have sound but I could have sworn that chick told him off when he got out of the bag.
Definitely didn't look happy.
What an afternoon! Job so well done by IWS. I think they are capturing film of a concerned parent....
I think the cameraman just fell out of his tree.
That was like taking your baby to get it's first set of shots.
Making me sea sick watching it. LOL
I thought I just heard an adult eagle nearby.
UH OH Should have fixed the camera too.
back on.
That was great!!
Yes, indeed it was, Paula.....:).
That was an experience of a lifetime. I had to remind myself to breathe.
It was simply awesome.. I really feel fortunate to have seen all of that. Best 2hr+ performance of the day.
I really liked Jim's actions before he was able to grab A63's foot. He teased him with the broken branch over to the right to get his/her attention and then it was a 'bird in hand'.
Yeah, that was funny, Jo. I don't think I saw him wearing gloves...brave man, it was a great show, now I don't feel like driving home tonight.
Exhausting and exhilarating at the same time!!
See ya'll later!!
Both eaglets and one adult eating in
the BW nest.
I am going to take a break from the cams.... Wonderful afternoon....
BBL
I am calling it an Exciting Day!
Good Night Everyone
PEACE to you all
Hi Jo--
We did have a big afternoon didn't we!! I was so spellbound, I couldn't pull myself away for fear I would miss something.
I was going to ask you where the parents were but I think you asked the question also.
Calling it a day--talk to you tomorrow.
