GOOD MORNIN' EAGLE BUDDIES!!!---THANKS STEVEN for the new thread on this BEAUTIFUL JUNE in WV--66° & the birds are singing!!!---FORGOT!!---I MAYBE No. 1----
Good Sunny Saturday Morning It's going to be a good one! Hello Norma and Paula. I guess I best go to the previous thread to see what went on this early morning.
Thanks for the new thread-Steve. Happy early Father's day to you
HI MEMA JO!---I want to thank CANDY for her commentary this a.m. too----GOOD JOB!!!!---I am going to walk in our "RELAY FOR LIFE" this afternoon---The "Courthouse Cruisers"---keep inviting me back!!--So been on phone this a.m.---Hope you & your family have a great FATHER'S DAY!--
Just in case this was missed on the other thread...
Good morning!
I have a cute stoy from my hometown paper the NY Daily News about a baby red-tailed hawk who took his first flight but didn't do so well but all is well with him.
YEA!! I SEE IT TOO PAULA!!!----Been watching off & on all a.m.----Did you get a pic???---SUZANNE left ORDERS (ho!)---If anyone sees it snap a pic!!!!----
Good afternoon to Paula, Norma Jo and robynann. Just got back from taking mu husband to lunch after we put his old truck in the garage to get looked at.
I see we still have an egg in the Finland nest. Maybe it will wait so Suzanne could see it.
Robynann, I tried to get your site, but it won't connect. Is that a , Org on the end?
Hello, everybody. If you go to Google, click on News, type in red tailed hawk New York, it's the first story that pops up. I posted it the day it was printed, but it's a very long url. There's a discussion area for name suggestions. Coolish, partly cloudy here today.
Can't get Santa Cruz up yet, chicks sitting around in Two Harbors(Only see 2 with their bling, blings), One chick in Norfold sitting on a branch away from the nest, no BW eagles, no BW ospreys in nest, chicklets in West End nest with a parent, just there.
There is a parent eagle sitting on trunk of tree off nest in l,2 chicks in nest just being lazy things. The borruowing owls are peeking ;up out of their big hole. The baby is in Puget Sound nest and there sits the lonely egg in the middle of the nest.
Deep shadows are coming over the Finland nest, the Barn Owls are just sitting and picking feathers. The storks in Germany are just hanging out together passing the time, and Ms. B has just left her 5 beautiful eggs out in the open.
I am watching Osprey at CT and LI = Quiet in LI today, no intruder attacks.
CT - Baby has something around his neck, down to his body. I hope it will come off.
Loch Garden - Henry accidently stepped on the first chick hatached there on Thursday when he was trying to free himself from fishing line, which he did. There are still 2 eggs to hatch there.
Hi sandyshaw, not much activity on here at this time of day. Everupme os emjoying their Saturday off. I just keep checking in from time to time on the Finland nest to see if anything is happening to the one egg that is left in nest.
Thank you for helping me get to robynann's Daily News article. I finally got it. Poor little thing. It did say that after they get it's strength up, they will return it to So. park and it should find it's nest again. So that is a good thing.
I have been talking with Lisa at BW on the Puleston Forum, and this is what she just posted there.
I just spoke with CT Audubon. They know about the problem and they supposedly have canoes and the fire dept there. They're trying to decide if they will go out and climb the nest to remove the item on the chick. But at least they're aware of it.
Paula, that is at least some good news between the two nests. We will hope that it can be done and the chick getting whatever it is off his neck. Let's hope for a happy ending here.
So sad about the Loch Garten nest. I was noticing that the osprey parents don't seem to be as careful in the nests at the eagle parents, who delicately stepped around, over and slowly sat down on eggs or chicks. Am I the only one who observed this? Hopefully the other eggs will hatch and be ok.
Finland parent was just up and turning and assessing the situation. Looked as if egg was still there and whole. Barn Owls still huddled together in box. Ms. B is back on her eggs and the storks are all settled in for a nap; one along side the other.
One of the storks is up now and did a wing extensions. There he goes again. Boy are they huge. He must be feeling frisky and wanting to explore the great unknown.
Hey, you all. I think we have a new baby in the Finland osprey nest! I don't know for sure, as she came right back on and sat down on them. But it did look like the egg was open. Keep your eyes open.
Paula The parent flew in as she got off the chicks and they stood looking for a minute. She bent down, maybe to feed. I was frantically looking for the egg and thought I saw it open and she sat down on them again. Probably another false alarm. I have been sitting here all afternoon waiting.
It is not my day anyway. I just composed a letter to Suzanne to send her some of the pics that I took today and like an idiot, I deleted them from my file before I attached them into the letter. Dah! stupid me. And now I don't have the photos saved anymore either. What else is new when you are working with a Kindergarten mind! :)
Yesterday, the mother was up and down all day and today she sits. Here is the father again. Maybe we'll get a look. Doesn't look like he has any dinner.
Well folks, I'm giving up for now. Someone else will have to herald the good news when it comes to the Finland Osprey nest. The osprey mom outlasted me. MBBL if I can still see.:)
CANDY-- I saved some photos this morning of Finland Nest for Suz. I truly believe the egg hatched this morning and the shell has been there all day looking as if the egg was still intact. I will try to email you the photos so you can see what you think. The cam distorted a lot this morning so I am not sure what I saw.
IT'S A BEAUTIFUL, HAZY-SUNNY DAY IN SO CAL TODAY...I HOPE YOU ARE ALL ENJOYING YOUR SATURDAY.
I'm kind of under the weather with sinuses or cold but not too serious. Just bad enough to excuse some extra sleep...hahaha.
I checked the links Paula gave us, and they look extremely interesting. The Lock Garten link is only to the blog, however, so here is one to the UK nestcams too.
Jim earlier today, I saw one lone Pa. falcon on the take off point of the ledge. I was trying to get pics for Suzanne. Then I got a pic of it flapping it's wings and the next refresh, he was gone. I took it he flew off. I went on later and there were four or fivc birds on the ledge, and I sent that to Suzanne and asked her if they were falcons coming back to roost. Candy
JIM-- The site with the BIRD FEEDERS is a neat idea. I haven't seen anything yet, but I'm sure there is activity at certain times of the day. Will check in from time to time.
One just left. I just got back from a shower and took a look at our nest and couldn't believe it. I haven't watched it all day, and we had two eagles in the nest!
Looks like that is it for the night on our nest. I wonder if they came this morning too? Well, at least they came for a short time tonight to check the nest.
Hey Jo. That made my day! I have been sitting here all day watching birds; ospreys in Finland to see if she had a hatching. So this makes up for it big time.
All the family is home at Kent nest. Puget Sound eaglet did a lot of wingercising today - It won't be long until all these little ones take flight. Was watching the 2 at the NE nest - they are also getting ready.
Paula Glad you captured the CT osprey chick being freed from the bubblewrap! That was something else! I am so thankful that the human touch interfered with Nature this time!
Jo, it looks like the sun is rising in Finland. It seens to be coming in from the right of the screen. If we watch maybe Pop will come with breakfast and we may see then how many chicks there are.
Oh well, I am calling it quits for the day. My back is killing me and my eyes are to the screen and not the sky. :) I hope you all have a nice evening. An early Happy Father's Day to all our fathers out there...Jim included, even tho we keep getting many duplicates of his email. :) Hang in there Jim. It will be fixed soon.
Jim Go to Blackwater site and click on osprey cam. Click on osprey web cam log on left side. Scroll down until you come to Finland Osprey Cam. Click on it. I think there are now three chicks in nest. Not sure. Candy
And now my final good night to all. Sweet dreams and all that stuff

the end is html, it was in the NY Daily News June 14 front page with beautiful pic of the baby.

I certainly can clear a room!

You can see 2 boats in the background at CT
Unfortunately, the chick at Loch Garten died from being stepped on.

Paulal, are there just 2 chicks in the Conn. nest?
Forget it Paula,
I can see at least three now. Thanks tho. I'll keep watching.
Second chick is up and first chick has settled back down. Maybe they are just polite and practice one chick at a time; space limitations.
The Barn Owls are starting to wake up and move around a little. I think I still see 4 of they yet, It all seems quiet on the sound today; no sawing.
Ms. B is off her eggs again! How are they ever going to hatch?
The bubble wrap around the chicks nest was just removed!
All is well in CT, Mom just returned.
Finally saw a falcon on the corner launch pad at Pa. He is just sitting there contemplating. ;)
Video and pics of Connecticut chick.
Eagletmomsters.blogspot.com
Just checked your Conn site and see that the "necklace" has been cut off. Whoo Hoo. That happened quick. Thanks for senting it to let us know.
Hey, you all. I think we have a new baby in the Finland osprey nest! I don't know for sure, as she came right back on and sat down on them. But it did look like the egg was open. Keep your eyes open.
They did a good quick job at Connecticut. I'll bet Mom was raising he** above them!
Just saw one Pic of Finland Mom feeding chick before she covered them back up. I couldn't see the egg, it was obscured by fish and chicks!
Did anyone else catch it?
Beach Mom - I looked at my pic again and can't make anything out or did you mean she just got off of chicks again?
Paula
The parent flew in as she got off the chicks and they stood looking for a minute. She bent down, maybe to feed. I was frantically looking for the egg and thought I saw it open and she sat down on them again. Probably another false alarm. I have been sitting here all afternoon waiting.

They must be making the change under cover. Get out of the way Dad!
Let me take over, no let me take over, no you take over, no I'll take over. I wish someone would get off the babies so we could count!
And I had to walk out, so I guess Dad left?
See ya later, heading home.
See you later Paula. Have a safe trip. Candy

UK Nestcams
Strangely, I think there is something wrong with all the Channel Island cams right now...also VA won't come up.
I'm going to attempt to make Robynann's link clickable (at least shorter).
Enjoy your day...
Jim
OK, here's a clickable version of Robynann's link to the Red-tail Hawk eyass story:
Robynann’s Redtail Hawk
Tried it, works like a champ.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention there appears to be one eyass at PA which hasn't fledged yet...caught it warming up for flight earlier though.

THANKS FOR THE LINKS!

Eagles in our nest
One just left. I just got back from a shower and took a look at our nest and couldn't believe it. I haven't watched it all day, and we had two eagles in the nest!
I don't know when they first arrived, but we now have both eagles in the nest again.
Both osprey parents in Finland too.
Looks like bell just left. Liberty standing near his take off point
I am getting pics Candy
One now sitting in the egg cup
MT nest :(
My cam just went down - I think it's my pc not the cam
Mom and Pop osprey are just sitting in the nest enjoying the view in Finland.
Well, Candy, we got to see them!!
My eagle fix for the day
Looks like that is it for the night on our nest. I wonder if they came this morning too? Well, at least they came for a short time tonight to check the nest.
Hey Jo. That made my day! I have been sitting here all day watching birds; ospreys in Finland to see if she had a hatching. So this makes up for it big time.
Did you get pics?
Jo I sent you and Suzanne the pics I got in case you didn't get any.
Candy
Momster Photo album ready to be viewed
This Weeks Photos of
Liberty & Belle
Posted the pics I got - will gladly add any that you send that may be different shots. That was worth all the cam surfing for the day!
You said it Jo! My wash is ready to come out. Watch Finland and see if you can see if we had a hatching. BB

I am over in Finland - nothing to report
Jo, it looks like the sun is rising in Finland. It seens to be coming in from the right of the screen. If we watch maybe Pop will come with breakfast and we may see then how many chicks there are.
When the light comes in - she really looks around.. Sometimes under her wing you can see a little chick.
I love it when she turns her head and it seems like she is looking right at you........... Feathers are just as beautiful as our eagles.......
Jo Parents are gone from nest. Take a look Oh poop, one just came back Forget it
Jo did you catch the nest when it was wide open? I still can't tell about the egg. What do you think?
Great! I was checking out the bluebird eggs & missed it... I was only gone for a sec......
Do you think it was a parent switch?
I don't think they are going to let us see anything... I wish the adult would turn it around.....
Jo I just sent you the pic of the open nest. Take a look.
ok
When I zoom in on the empty nest, it looks like maybe three chicks and an Easter egg still there. I really can't tell.
When you magnify the photo it still looks like a speckled egg right there in front of the chicks.. What do you think?
The shadows are making it too dark now to see much
Why couldn't they have just white eggs like alot of other birds?
I think we'll need to see a feeding in order to tell how many are there.
I need to leave for awhile - I'll be back to say good night.....
