Sorry about the last post. I have a couple of blogs and for some reason that post got on the eagle blog instead of the Children and Nature Journal blog. It's funny, I posted it and then didn't see it on the other blog and wondered where the heck it went...
We are investigating the cam problem.
We think it may be the farmer has run over and damaged the camera cable. John will check it out.

Thanks for the update on the camera, Steve. And for the new thread.
Have a great day!
Jim
Hey Norma, you should catch the train to Pburg and find out what the excitement is all about. Don't know what they would be doing. They better be careful, tracks haven't been used in many many years. I think the whole time I lived there I saw 1/2 dozen trains. Maybe.
Still only two BB chicks.
Popsicle time at the Nat. Zoo.
Momma Panda sacked out on the logs in Atl
Feeding time in Finland. (osprey chick's mouth isn't as big as Bluebird) LOL
Steve, that is too funny! As you can tell, we loved your post even if it wasn't meant for us :)
Have a great day!
Thanks for the new thread, Steven. Thanks for the heads up, Jim. You may have posted on the wrong blog Steve, but it was interesting for us to read!
Good Morning
Steve - your post yesterday was very informative and maybe was meant to appear on our blog too. Funny though when you couldn't find it...lol
Like losing your car keys - you know you had them but where did they go
Have not read previous comments - will do so now.... Only 2 BBirds?
A63 is really trying his wings this morning...take a look.
Talk to you this evening, gotta get ready for work.
Jim
THANKS STEVEN FOR THE NEW THREAD---SORRY FOR YOUR MIX-UP!!!----I LOVED YOUR COMMENTS---& have discussed them with other friends!!!----MOVIN' JIM!!!----We all know you are #1-----CONGRATS!!!!
JILL---NO---They have been wanting the POTOMAC EAGLE to come up there-----They have been doing it this season!!---Usually it's between MOOREFIELD & PETERSBURG!!---SPECIAL CELEBRATION!!
I was watching #63 too!----HE REALLY WANTS TO GO---MAYBE SOON!!!----FLAPS his wings & makes "grunting" sounds----Feel SORRY for him---no one to guide him!!
SUZANNE---Our CAM has "PURPLE RAIN"---How "COOL' is that!!---Just found your question!!---Will check it out!!!
Hi everyone! I talked with Suzanne early this morning and we were greeted with a blue screen still at our nest. I see where they think it might be a farmer running over the cable. Hope they get it fixed. I'm back on after catching a few zzzzzz's. I have been sitting here watching the Santa cruz owl for awhile, hoping to see him take his first flight. He wants to go soooo bad.
Congrats Jim for being the first on the new thread. It is about time you were the man! You let everyone else get ahead of you.
Good to hear from Megan this am.
I just assumed she was overly busy with the flower season in full bloom.
Wanda Does Mr BB ever nest on the newborns or does he just go for food? It's just that sometimes the 'feathers' look a little different.
I read that we still only have 2 blue birds hatched yet. Maybe today will produce some more.
Saw 1 OWL at ALBURQ.---& 2 "peeking" their heads out at KENT!---Don't see anything else???
Hey Jo. I thought I read where Meghan was on this am. I imagine she has been pretty busy with her flowers. She said something about having to get out there and keep them watered. I just love flowers, but I have a hard time keeping them looking beautiful.
Mrs Bluebird off the 2 chicks & 3 eggs
CANDY---I have been watching him too!!---HE IS READY!!!
Hi Paula and Jo, and welcome back Candy. Did you have a good nap? I took a break right after you did this mornning, but I was doing other things.
Norma, never mind, whatever it was is long gone. 2 chicks and 3 eggs visible in WolfHaven! They're so cute and tiny.
BB nest is wide open.
Hi Candy - Yes, Megan was on this am (previous thread) and that is why I said it was so good to hear from her.
It's flower time & she is really busy-especially when we don't get needed rain. Is it hot down there?
Those chicks are soooo tiny.
OMG, there is a falcon on the light fixture in PA. Too cool!
Suzanne, your baby osprey in Finland are getting sooooo huge. They didn't stay little very long.
Norma & Candy - who have you been watching who is ready for 1st flight?
Someone mentioned 'owl' - do you mean SantaCruz - Limuw ???
Norma, I hope to see #63 in Santa Cruz take off. He IS more than ready. He is like king of his "hill" nest. I wish that fly that I hear buzzing around there on the mic would give him a little boost. :)
Mama Kestrel is back in her nest with the babies. I just love their fuzzy little bodies too. AND gone; short visit.
Wanda Do you think that the middle egg is cracking or is it just some nesting material I see?
Jo
Yes it is #63 at Santa Cruz. He has been wing flapping for a few days and all over his nest. He seems ready to go. I would like to see it, as I haven't seen any of the others go.
Norfolk is moving it's camera around, trying to find an eagle to focus on today. They had some good pics yesterday. the place seems empty for the time being there.
GOOD TUESDAY A.M. EVERYONE Stay cool, and hydrated....CONGRATS JIM, you are #1 in our book.
Sometimes he (63-Limuw)will branch down along the side of the nest where you can't see him. Then up will pop his head!
Good Morning Mits!
VA Eaglets are probably out with parent having a 'fishing lesson'. lol
PA FALCON on ledge----
#63 keeps scraping his beak on a stick in his nest, like he is getting it sharpened for catching fish and his maiden flight! :)
2 juvies at VA
actually there are 3 now
Welcome aboard Mits. Been watching Santa Cruz nest to see if #63 takes flight. He seems to have gotten tired of wing flapping and has settled down in the middle of his nest again.
Was over on the IWS forum
Here is a youtube of Limuw
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=
gtFKG4nHOc0
Shows nestorations being done like Dad does...............
only cam #2 is up and running at pandas house.
I guess their fishing lesson is over for now. Looks like a full nest.
Kestral fuzzies are being fed.
Jo
I just tried to get your video and it said that the url contained a malformed video id?
JO---Couldn't get it either!!
feeding time at Dennis Pulstin osprey nest...love the sound.
SUZANNE----PA FALCONS are getting VOCAL---I think I see 3---(if one is still on top of light)---ho! ho!
LOL, NOrma, yup, one on top of light. Guess they found a new perch! Morning, Mits. Hot enough for ya? Was outside a little while ago, it is VERY humid. Guess more to come, it's still early in the day, yet.
SAFE JOURNEY HOME SUZANNE!!---Isn't this the day of HEIDIGIRL'S ROOT CANAL?---LOVE TO GYPSY---lunch date!!
It is 86 in Martinsburg right now. Getting hotter every minute. Poor Megan, she must be watering constantly. Maybe this evening we will get a storm.
BB chicks and eggs visible!!!
Are there 3 chicks? I can't see the 3rd egg rightnow
Thanks, Norma! Gypsy thanks you too, I'll give her fuzzy little body extra pets this afternoon! Hi Jill. Hot here too. I feel for Megan, it's terrible out there. Oh my, good luck to HeidiGirl on her root canal! I wish her luck, and no pain!!
Jill, I was thinking the same thing. Thought I saw 3 chicks and 2 eggs now, but couldn't really tell.
You Tube video did just come up for me. Paste the first line and then copy & past second line - If that doesn't work for you... Go to the IWS discussion Forum on today's date under the Nest Observations.
It's on Page 2 in the very first comment.... Pics of Dr Sharpe & eaglets on page 1 that you'll like.
90° and climbing, so humid last night, you could feel the moisture on you skin...got to go out...BBL
And now Momma B is back. yesterday it looked like that but on of the chicks was covering the egg.
Still 86 here. Maybe that will be it for the day. I have to go out too and I really really don't want to.
That happened this morning also, Jill. One of the chicks was using the egg as a pillow.
One of the PA falcons is in the shade of the nest box!
Looks like the egg is back and they are covering another one.
Time for me to hit the road. All have a great day, stay cool if possible. Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!
I just can't tell if the 3rd egg is there or not. The one little chick even look like they are upside down.
The chicks are getting fuzzy now.
Mrs BB zips right in there.
I am almost sure there were only 2 eggs left. However, I can't say there are 3 chicks in that pile of fuzz...
Jo, earlier they were covering the egg at the top of the screen, then they moved to the one of the bottom eggs. I only see 2 eggs, but I haven't seen a 3rd head so I think they are just covering the 3rd egg
Dr Sharpe just gave update over on IWS Forum on the repair of WE & TH cams: I had a little trouble with the timer on the last link in the West End camera feed yesterday and didn't have a replacement. I have a feeling it didn't turn on this morning. I'll take a timer out of the Two Harbors system tomorrow and switch out the malfunctioning timer.
Guess we'll find out when they open their beaks, Jill!
I need to leave for an appointment - Hate to go out But what ya going to do!
Have a safe trip home Suzanne. Snuggle with Gypsy for me. I love animals, but they don'ts love me. I have allergies.
Good Afternoon Ladies--
Just stopped for a few minutes and checked in on Mrs. B. I'm pretty sure I saw three little heads. It is hard to tell until they open their mouths, then the counting is easy!
Definitely 3 eggs still there. One has his wittle head resting on an egg. Maybe he should start pecking at it and wake up his sibling. LOL
THE JUVIE CLOSE UP SHOW
IS NOW
PLAYING ON THE VA CAM
I just love seeing these eaglets!!!!
He keeps calling out and looking up like asking his parents to please come get him. Poor thing.
Jo.
Thanks for the heads up about the Va. cam. I have been watching Santa Cruz #63 flying all over his nest; trying to get up the courage to go.
Good Afternoon all, I am back and had a wonderful time. All my fears were silly. My root canal was postponed until Thursday. I waited for the doctor and there was an emergency so I came to work. I have to do so much to get caught up . I will read the past blog later in the day when I can see my desk. Love to you all.
Anne-Marie
Santa Cruz - A63 made it up to the ebranch! Been up there for 1 1/2 hours. Waiting to see if he can make it down!
The West end and Two Harbors cams are up, reception is not great, but they are there.
I thought that # 53 at Santa Cruz just fledged, but I don't know if he caught himself on a branch lower down. I can seem to hear movement yet.
ANNE-MARIE--
Glad to hear you had a safe trip.Sounds like you found something to do with your 80 year old aunts. A 10 hour drive is too far to go without enjoying yourself a little.
Check out Santa Cruz (He is getting ready to take off.)
We also have some baby bluebirds.
Anne
What a terrible thing to happen to you, I hate going to the dentist. I would have harmed the dentist if he told me I had to come back! :)
Paula,
I don't hear anymore from the nest except the wind. Do you suppose he is gone or just hanging onto the edge of the nest? I guess time will tell. I have been trying to watch and clean my house today; running back and forth.
I HAVE BEEN WATCHING #63----He went off the screen at 3:05 p.m. my time----DID HE FLEDGE???
Sure could use the cam to move back now at SC so we can see how far down into the large tree he goes.
TH video down again.
Black screen at VA
Kent & Puget Sound all calm
I can still see 3 eggs in the BB nest
Darn, all that time I was watching #63 and missed it.
I think he just jumped down onto a branch below the nest.
Remember at his banding how large that tree is? Plenty of branches for him to use.
WELCOME BACK ANNE MARIE
MITS: What did you miss?
I need to put my head down for awhile Heat has taken its toll ...Eyes are very heavy
Glad Your Home Safe, AnneMarie
BBL
Jo, I missed # 63 taking off, 1 minute he was there, the next he was gone.
MY COMPUTER STINKS!!!!----I have had him on FULL SCREEN since I got back from lunch----KEPT FLYING around his nest----THEN he FLAPPED WINGS then off to HIS LEFT!!!!---I had to close the computer & when I got back on---"still isn't in the picture!!---I HOPE HE SOARS!!!
PAULA!!-- Have you heard anything from IWS----Sure looked to me like he flew off----but we can't see down the MT.---
WELCOME BACK ANNE-MARIE!---Thought today was your "D-DAY" (dentist) ho!---So glad you enjoyed your reunion!!!---I thought you would!----Want to hear all about it---when catch up!!
GUESS WHO B-A-C-K ON THE MT.??????---#63---The "LITTLE STINKER"!--ho!---Wonder how far he TRAVELED??
Well of course. I lay down for a while and poof, he fledges. Go figure.
