YAHOO WANDA I can't believe you have been there each time during her labor and seen the delivery! lol I just got back from errands - going over to see number 3!
question is Sc kid ok i read where it was not moving much last night and something was wrong with it ????? I looked in today and its setting in the nest
I agree with you Nilla - that sycamore has a lot of leaves. Nilla, I am so proud that you're not smoking - I am so happy I can say the same! I need to get moving - gong to church this evening.......BBL
Jim thanks for the link for the banding i went n watched it and those pictures are awsome.. Thanks again... Applause Jo i knew we both could do it!!!! Even thou the craving is still there beleive me. I think what has helped also is knowing now just how BAD it smells on you and your clothing.. nose is very senstive it smoke now... Paula if you havent gone to Dave & Janes recently you should.. I will be up there for my birthday July 1st with family..
Coming soon! May 27: Frodo and Frieda are back and aggressively defending their nesting ledge. We're getting ready for another season of intimate pics and video of our favourite falcon family.
Our favorite couple of Peregrine Falcons from down under will have the camera back on soon for those of us who watch late at night also...
Just had a customer who lives up on Rt 9 at the Woods Resort tell me there was an adult eagle they saw up there in a tree... Thats towards Berkeley Springs...
Jill, they haven't been around long enough for any of their kids to be an white headed adult yet. Takes about 4-5 years for those feathers to come in. There are really quite a few eagles up and down your area of the Potomac per Steve.
Steve I hope you're on your way home now Unless you have had another delay.... You'll make it!
I was just checking in on the Loons and noticed they have the report back on the egg that was removed. If you haven't had a chance to read it, do so. Interesting.
Osprey on platform at BW Don't know how we will know when the CO eaglets fledge??? NE cam has been down for days. VA cam is a hunt & find puzzle.. Our cam needs a reboot or something! Anxious to hear from Steve what is proposed for our cam in the near future.....
How thoughtful of them to get back to us so soon and let us know what the fate of the egg was. I guess Little LuLu will be my "Special One" for quite awhile. I was absolutely smitten with her and her antics. I hope we can see her often.
I have not seen the loons live on cam yet... they are beautiful birds... and no Jill i dont think this could have been a kid of Lib & Belle.. its was a full growen eagle maybe heading up towards Romney possibly... Better tell Norma to keep and eye out...lol
HELLO EAGLE BUDDIES!!----Have had house guests this weekend---LISE'S 30th HIGH SCHOOL REUNION!!!----FUN!!---Missed talking with you all!!!----I did watch the SC BANDING yesterday!!!--BEST THING I HAVE SEEN!!---Told JIM, I thought that was SPUNKY--ho!---SHE DIDN'T GO QUIETLY!! ho!----SHE was telling the CLIMBER to "GET THE H--- OUTA THERE!!---TOMORROW!!
Good evening, everybody... Having a good Saturday, I hope.
Norma and I are really charged up about the Belmont Stakes and the fact that the filly 'Rags to Riches' was the first filly to win it in 102 years!! Don't know about you bloggers...like the horses or not?
Turns out the very first Belmont in 1867 was won by a filly also. There are videos on UTube if you want to catch it.
I too watched ALL of one series of the Santa Cruz banding videos, Nilla, and I probably will look for clips of the tree climbing before and after as well. They are decent quality and easy to view...very interesting. The stills are good too.
Well, have a good night and a great Sunday. I'm going to check some nests and then close this operation for the night.
Good Sunday Morning, Eagleland! I haven't been able to post much lately, but I do read the logs when I get a chance. I missed the banding, and appreciate all your comments. And I have never seen the loon chicklet. Saw a parent float by once, and I guess I saw a parent on the nest one morning.
Nice day expected here in Eagleland today. We went hiking and then kayaking yesterday - so probably too tired to do much today. See y'all later!
Oops, one adult and one eaglet in BW nest, nobody home at OUR nest, and that's as far as I've been so far.
I am having such a hard time catching up as there seems to be so many posts this weekend.
I took my daghter and my brothers 2 boys to the Potomac river close to dam 4, for those who do not know WV it is close to NCTC. Of course I had my eye to the skies looking for eagles but there were none to be seen. I was very surprised at how many herons there were and how close they got to us. Plenty of swallows and bright yellow birds and minnows nipping at our ankles.
Suzanne if yo get to read this I believe No. 4 owlet in Benicia is a female she has spots on her :).
Can't seem to see the Va cam all that well and it looked frozen.
Guess I will peek in on the cams and see how the bird world is doing.
Have a wonderful day all, looks like it is going to be a gorgeuos day here.
Jo my pool will finally be open this weekend, It was such a busy summer last year I didn't get to open it so to took extra care this year to get it back to normal.

THANK YOU, STEVEN Later everyone...Yes, Jo when I have loons up does some strange things to puter.
Oh My, 17 eggs. Lots of chicks to look after!
Mrs. B is out of "Labor" now--1 more egg.
AH HA!...I've been to Jackson Hole 2 or 3 or 4 times as I was going to or coming from Yellowstone.
It's a great little town, full of interesting western restaurants and bars...very 'historical' looking and feeling.
I love that whole area of the Country, and I recommend it to anyone who hasn't been there.
Enjoy it to the max, Steve.
Jim
Check the fog bank rolling into the Kent nest area.
No adults visible in the tree now.
Jim

Santa Cruz banding
Jim
Think she is thinking of taking off or watching something off to the right
Hi Nilla! I can never tell one from the other when I have to look down on them. Sitting in Belle's spot!
yup she is gone... By Belle
Jim - The all eagles all the time thread has been there. Everyone posts their pictures and videos there on a daily basis.
Belle is gone :(
This year the nest really does get the shade -
the way to tell them apart is looking at their shoulders Belle is much broader across and her head is bigger... Hi Jim
question is Sc kid ok i read where it was not moving much last night and something was wrong with it ????? I looked in today and its setting in the nest
Looks more like leaves in our nest to me, Ladies...unless she left already.
My picture sometimes clears if I click F5 to refresh it.
Jim
Yea, Jo, More shade than last year!
LOL its all the eagle poop shoots over the edge making the tree grow.. lol fertizer Jo..

Nilla, could that be one Belle and Libs babies. How long have they been around? I forget.

Wanda With that kind of remark I guess I best get over there - how suspenseful!
Wanda - that was a very thorough report wasn't it? She almost had a second little loon.
How thoughtful of them to get back to us so soon and let us know what the fate of the egg was. I guess Little LuLu will be my "Special One" for quite awhile. I was absolutely smitten with her and her antics. I hope we can see her often.

It could be one from Romney. They have been up there for years. Not unlikely they have strayed out to BS. Not that far by air.
HEY NORMA-Keep your eagles up there. LOL
