AND while I am on, may I be the first to singn June 4th: Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday dear Dana, Happy birthday to you! :)
Hello Candy and Jill... I was still over on the previous thread. Not used to getting these new threads late in the day. Were you on a motorcycle today,Jill?
I also want to say good Monday morning to Suzanne. Keep up the good early morning blogging. I only have 4and a half days left of kids at school and then 3 more work days. Then maybe I'll be able to get on once and awhile.
JO-- Thanks for the heads up on the Loon. She is beautiful. Se is off the nest right now--does her baby go with her when she leaves or am I over-looking it?
Sandra and I have been watching the Minnesota Loon Cam this evening: MEMA Jo said...828pm Beautiful loon back in nest with chick up by her right side. sandyshaw said...Loon & baby in water. 10:00 It is getting dark there now so I would assume they would be back on the nest shortly. There is 1 egg in the center of the nest. Live Loon Cam
Well I have to try to catch up on the blogs so will say good night for now. May tomorrow bring us all a new and beautiful dawn with a radiant sunrise. Candy
Candy I thought the roadrunner was also a very precious little bird. Wanda Look at the pic at the top where it say Live Loon Cam. See the chick on her back? I saw the chick climb up on her.. However, I also saw the chick swim along side of the adult. They think that egg is a dud & won't hatch. They also said that a chick leaves the nest for good 24 -48 hours after hatching. How about that for the motherhood of a Loon! Right under the cam read Larry's Loon Log
Wanda Did you see the bluebird any today? Sure did cover up those eggs with new nesting materials.
I keep watching the owl - waiting for an egg... Just don't know - but she sure is beautiful. Sometimes with the refresh I will admit I can't always find her head.. lol
JO Yes, I did see the Bluebird this morning. She brings nesting material in and seems to mold it into the nest cup with her body. Wasn't home this afternoon so I didn't get to watch most of the day.
GOOD MORNING SUZ Did you know that NORMA was missing for 24 hours? I think she thought we would send out a cute State Trooper to find her. (Jo called her and she wasn't feeling well--said she would try to get back with us this morning. See you at coffee time.
Wow, I shut down for a couple of hours to work on my puter, and everything is changed when I come back on-line!! New thread and all.
I found my old soldering iron and solder -- to give you an idea of how old, I got them both from Radio Shack, and they were both made in the U.S.A. That goes back a while -- so I took the whole thing apart again, and now the little beauty is pumping more air with less noise than when it was new. I'd call the operation a definite success.
I won't have to worry about waking up the nice neighbor lady in the early morning with a dumb noisy fan.
Good rainy morning, eagle world. Rained all the way down. Did see the moon at home, but only for a few minutes before it went behind clouds. 64° at my house, 67° here. Nice, but muggy. Saw Steve's note about the storm Friday night! It was unreal! Woke me up at 8:10, I was asleep on the couch. But it was pouring, thunder shook the house. Must have had some serious wind too, cause my plants were laying down Sat morning! Didn't break, thankfully, but had to stake them up. We got a lot of much needed rain this weekend. Megan, hope your allergies are better this morning, lots of tree pollen on the streets! One of the guys here at work said he feels a lot better today. Other guy isn't in yet. Well, will read the blogs tonight. Jo, I'm glad we're getting all this rain, we sure do need it! And CostumeLady, thanks for telling me about Norma. She was AWOL most of last week. At least I didn't see her very often, think she came on after I was gone. Norma, hope you feel better!
Leaves are blowing on our cam, still too dark to see any cams, BW eagle is MT, osprey still down. Stork family is up and about, those kids are getting big.
All have a great eagle day. Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!
Candy, you beat me to singing happy birthday to Dana! Probably a good thing, I'm sure you sounded just fine! And school is out for you this week, right? I'm sure you're ready for a break! Think school is out in PA this week too. But then CostumeLady and I expect you to join us for coffee in the early AM!!! Course it doesn't have to be THIS early, but you know...
Well eagle world, our kids are due for a stop over visit any minute now. Course it's Monday, and raining, and windy, so they may be sleeping in! Sure wish I was...
Our nest still MT, but a chick is mantling in BW, and parent nearby. Both have heads down. Ok, no, parent just left, chick has head up now. PA falcon chicks are getting browner and bigger. BW eaglet is eating something, but can't tell what it is/was.
Well, it doesn't look like our Lib or Belle are gonna show up this morning. I hope they're nice and warm and dry somewhere. BW eaglet still in nest, still has hed down, so I'm guessing he's still eating. Couple of the falcons are on the ledge walking around. Barn owls still hanging around in their nest box. They're looking more like owls every day. Looked at the bluebird cam, it was totally dark this morning, so if something was in it, it was blocking the cam. MT now, and lots of new sticks and twigs, but don't see any eggs or feathers anymore. Still dark out west, and there is no video on the WA osprey cam.
GOOD MORNING SUZ You asked about the Bluebird. I watched her go in and out a few times yesterdy morning. She is building a new nest over top of the eggs. What do you suppose will happen when she incubates her eggs. Will she be close enough to the Swallow eggs to hatch them also. Wouldn't that be a HOOT? COFFEE TIME--
Morning, CostumeLady! I didn't know the bluebird was back! How cool. So they have 2 clutches a year, I guess. Good, since their numbers have been so depleted over the last few years. Guess mom swallow isn't too happy about that, and I'm guessing she lost her eggs to the nest box owner. Interesting. I had sparrows in a nest box I put out, they have since fledged, but Sat I noticed I now have more sticks sticking up by their entrance hole. Don't know if it's the sparrows again, or something else. I tried to watch for a while from the kitchen, but didn't see anything going in and out, so who knows. Isn't the animal kingdom interesting???
CostumeLady, did you go back to bed? Our nest is MT, BW is MT, falcons are out and about on the ledge, 3 of the 4 owlets are watching the 4th one eat a rodent of some kind. Thee storks are just being cute, and burrowing owl cams are not up yet. Still no video on the WA osprey cam, so closed that one.
SUZ-- No, I didn't go back to bed. Just made some coffee and fed my Goldfish in my little pond. Everything looks so fresh and clean from our rain. Pollen has been washed off my flowers and plants and looks so healthy now. Suz--What Owls are you looking at?
I have the Benicia, CA barn owls up at the moment. I watch the Burrowing owls also, one from Albuquerque, and the other from WildWatch. Neither burrowing owl cam is turned on, think they go from 8 to 8 their time, so think that's 10 here. Is it raining there? Just looked outside a little while ago, and it's pouring here now.
I'm in Alexandria, VA. Kent is getting daylight, and I have to tell you, the two trees that are by the nest sure are getting whitewashed! Didn't look like that Friday! Too funny. Guess it's showing up so good now cause it isn't quite daylight. Well, 2 trees for 2 chicks. Works for me!
Wow, Kent chicks have gotten huge over the weekend! Turning very black too, feathers are really coming in quickly! Parent still in tree...I can see why now, parent and those big chicks wouldn't fit in that nest anymore.
Albuquerque burrowing owl cam has been turned on. Guess their hours are 6 AM to 8 PM their time. So that's 8 AM here when it goes on. Someday I might actually remember that!
Kent parent is back with what looks like a large bird. Koon, or pheasant or something. Also squaking at something, and kids are sleeping right through it.
Both parents in Kent nest. Maybe that's what the squaking was, getting other one in there. Ok, now just 1, but now the kids are awake and getting breakfast.
Hey everyone. The motorcycle ride was wet but for a good cause. The VA Center here in Martinsburg. Not sure how much they raised but at $10 per person and what looked like over 1000 bikes, they didn't do too bad.
Good Morning all...thank you Cindy, Jim, Jo, Anne-Marie, Mits Candy and Suzanne for such a wonderful start to my 39th year :) You guys are great, and I loved it!

I haven't been able to be on the last few days, so I guess I'll be the first on this new thread.
Hey, I am first. And I didn't even have to get up early. LOL
If Floralgirl didn't get enough rain today she will tonight. Was pouring here in Martinsburg just a few minutes ago.
Has rained off and on since about noon but really hard now.
AND while I am on, may I be the first to singn June 4th:
Happy birthday to you,
Happy birthday to you,
Happy birthday dear Dana,
Happy birthday to you! :)

Hey Jo. Jill rides a motorcycle? Not too good of a day for doing that with the rain.
You can have the motorcycle. I rode one time and wanted off. I like a little something around me for protection.
Wasn't that roadrunner baby precious. We surely have seen alot of birds on here of all kinds. Never saw one before. Hope we can watch it grow.
JO--
Thanks for the heads up on the Loon. She is beautiful. Se is off the nest right now--does her baby go with her when she leaves or am I over-looking it?

HI to you Jill and Beachmom. If you haven't seen Mrs. Loon and Baby, check them out. Jo has a link to it on previous thread.
Didn't quite get gone yet. :) Thanks for the Loon cam Jo. I have bookmarked it so I can start watching that now. Thanks and good night.
Candy
Hey costume lady. More and more keep checking in. I hope your day was sunnier than here. BBT Have a good night.

May you all get the rain you have been needing and no more, may you sleep the sleep of innocence, and may you wake in the morning to begin a wonderfully creative week.
Good night/Good Monday morning, everyone.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR PHYRFLY
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU

Well, our kids must be sleeping in, but there was an eaglet in BW for one refresh. He arrived, then was gone.
BW eaglet back. He looks very sleek and shiny, so he may be wet.
PA falcon kids are in the nest box, parent is on top of nest box. Ledge looks wet, so may still be raining there.
Our nest still MT, but a chick is mantling in BW, and parent nearby. Both have heads down. Ok, no, parent just left, chick has head up now. PA falcon chicks are getting browner and bigger. BW eaglet is eating something, but can't tell what it is/was.

Dawn is coming to Kent. Eagle in tree, but can only see silhouette.
SUZ--Where are you located right now? We have no rain right now, but it looks as if it could rain any minute.

Kent parent took off. Must be time for breakfast for the kids.
BW eaglet just showed up.
Parent in nest, Kent
Back in tree.
The baby storks are getting black feathers on their back and wings. wow, already.
Eaglet just left BW.
BW eaglet back...
they have a skull in their nest that is very similar to a skull in the Kent nest. wonder what it used to be...
Oh my gosh, wing flapping in Kent. How cool was that!!!
Kent parent is back with what looks like a large bird. Koon, or pheasant or something. Also squaking at something, and kids are sleeping right through it.
WildWatch burrowing owl cam is online. They are coming out.
Both parents in Kent nest. Maybe that's what the squaking was, getting other one in there. Ok, now just 1, but now the kids are awake and getting breakfast.

Kent parent is squaking at something again. Whatever it is, parent is sure trying to either get mate in nest, or get something away from nest.
Morning, Jill and BIRTHDAY GIRL PHYERFLY! Hope you have a wonderful day, Phyerfly!!
GOOD MORNING PHYRFLY
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU--Enjoy your special day. Lets face it, you deserve it.
Parent is now in tree. Somebody look at the Kent nest and tell me what kind of bird that is.
It's as big as the chicks. Oh, wing flaps again.
JILL--Thank you for participating in the Motorcycle Ride for the VA Center. My husband uses their services and we personally appre ciate your efforts.
Good morning everyone. New thread . Come on over.
Good Monday morning, everybody..
I hope you are enjoying the benefits of the rain. So Cal could definitely use some of that.
Have a stupendous week,
Jim
