Again a no-show for our royal


 Just look how much bigger this juvenile eagle looks?! We know females are larger than males but did you know that juvenile eagles grow in longer feathers in their first year. Both wing and tail feathers are longer in their first year which helps them to navigate flying up high in the thermals. Each year as the bird matures the feathers molt and regrow shorter and change in color until a fully mature bird emerges with white head and tail.
