Thanks for the call over, JUDIE! Your headdress is lookin' good!

Thanks, too to STEVE for providing this blog and each new thread!

Bringing over my morning post:

Good Morning from rainy Ohio, Eagle Buds!!!

Prayerful this morning as I think of JO. Telescoping positive thoughts.

JUDIE, so glad you've no broken bones. Hope the brace, meds and babying of the wrist do the trick and quickly!

SANDI, your avatar is so sweet--what a little beauty Freyja is!

SHIRLEY, glad you wound up Tues. posts with happy news of good times! Hope your shoulder pain subsides. Pinched nerve? Bowling injury? These things are often a mystery and I hate to tell you, but they happen more and more frequently as we age!

JUDIE, you sure do have a lot of laundry--you and Darth are either very clean or very dirty!☺

SHAR, so happy in reading back and finding that you're feeling so well at last! Prayer works!

Time to put some finishing touches on the house pre-Eileen's visit. Will be lurking nestside and watching for word from JO--though I don't expect results will be revealed immediately.

Prayers for all in need!!!

Thanks, too for the scam info, JUDIE. It's hard to stay ahead of the scammers. Too bad they can't put their "creative genius" to work on legal matters. I am now screening all calls via answering machine as the National No-call Registry has become ineffective, unfortunately.

Good morning,

Thanks for the new thread, Steve, and for the call-over, Judie.

The injury on my shoulder looks like a burn. I had used the curling iron, but I can't imagine I burned myself without knowing it.

Haven't checked the nest yet.

I am home and have had my 1st cup of coffee - now I am up/running

The scan went very well - I love the technicians that pamper you the whole time and give you those warm blankets ! I will be around anyone today other then my Hubby as I am
a radioactive being. lol

Once again my thoughts of all of you got me through this with flying colors. Thanks for being here for me - Going to put up my feet because you know I'm not an Early Bird TTUL

Judie said...

Hi Jo. I'm confused. Why is today different? You are always so radiant. Does that mean you're radioactive everyday? lol Oh, and you can have my slice of cake, also.

Kay, because I do not think my front-load washer cleans as thoroughly as I would like, I do small loads of wash during the week. Also, this time of year, Darth gets very dirty - think boy playing in dirt.

Headed across the hall to watch The Chew and put my feet up while waiting on the dryer.

BBL

stronghunter said...

Judie, I am with you regarding washer inefficiency. I am not all that pleased with the cleaning effectiveness of my washer, either. I have to wash items several times to get spots out. I have tried spot remover stuff and am still not happy.

LOOKS LIKE EATING TIME AT THE LAUNCH PAD AREA

Judie said...

Afternoon snack time.

I guess I just don't get it how slamming clothes around top-to-bottom can get them as clean as the old agitation process. I'm having to wash more loads and use more stain remover. Hmmmmm? Conspiracy: washing machine manufacturers + water suppliers + manufacturers of detergents, stain removers and softener. lol

Have the night off. Darth has a meeting. No scullery duty.

grannyblt said...

Happy Earth Day all. When I went to grocery today I used my reusable totes instead of plastic. And I pointed out the fact I was using them to all within earshot. I'm sure they thought I was an old crank. I rarely see others use them. Rain and a few snowflakes here today.

Vet just called and the makers of Nexguard are paying for all of her care, so Animal Hospital will re emburse me for Sat and the vet is going to go ahead and order 18 more days of supportive treatment she has been on since Saturday, add a liver supplement and will also do the repeat blood draw in a month all on their bill, not mine. So financially I guess we are on a good road and sounds like Vet is totally able and willing to health wise do everything she can to get Patches through this as easy as possible.

Patches is overall doing ok. Not great but so very much better than over the weekend.

Good Morning, very early morning, Eagle Buds!!!

Fell asleep too early in the recliner last night and excited about Eileen's visit, so up and at em' too early.

Wow, I lived lo these many years without knowing about Body Farms. Guess if one donates the ol' bod to science one might land in one of them--♫♪ Give me land, lots of land under starry skies above. Don't fence me in ♪♪♪

LYNNE1, there is widespread use of personal tote bags in my little suburb. There is a big push to enact a law banning plastic bags. Meantime they can be taken back to Kroger where there are big bins in the entries and from there to recycling. Good for you---hope you gave some folks a push in the right direction!

GLO, Penny has been on Nexgard products since adoption in Dec. of 2012 with no ill effects. I'm happy to know what a fine company it is as they take care of expenses for you. So sorry Patches had to go through that ordeal---you, too!

Love all the nest reports of yesterday--our Big and Little are putting on quite a show!

JO, hope you're back to your natural glow today! Glad the techs took such good care of you yesterday!

LOLLY, enjoy your company!

Y'all shut down mighty early last night with nary a goodnight or SED. Wonder if some of you had storms that curtailed your internet use. Hope all's well.

Twill be a busy morning for me as I put the finishing touches on---making Eileen's bed, etc.. She'd say "just leave all that for me to do", but I will continue to do as much as possible for as long as possible! She and I will go to Kroger this afternoon for dinner ingredients--chicken, bar-b-que sauce, fresh veggies for roasting. She loves to shop and loves my Kroger Marketplace so did ask me to hold off on that chore. Julie and Hugh will be here for the evening.

That's all from Miss Blabbermouth today.

Prayers for all in need!!!

Good start to a new day. I will head to vets to pick up the meds Patches will take for the remainder of the month. Wind has stopped here finally and birdbath is skimmed over with ice. Need a tad more spring soon :-) Have a good day everyone.

Barbara said...

Gee, the nest sure needs a good spring cleaning down by 3 - 5 o'clock. Too many pieces of unknown leftovers! And it looks like Belle snuggling in with the kids, who seem wiggly. Or at least one seems like it! It is amazing how big they have grown and how they are maturing with a few feathers! Weather looks better today too. Wishing for a sunny day for all!

stronghunter said...

Good morning,

Adult and two eaglets in the nest. Two youngsters are cuddled together. It is a brisk morning here, and I am sure the same is true at the nest.

stronghunter said...

Hi Barbara!

stronghunter said...

Not freezing here. Temps in the 40's. I turned on the furnace for a bit. Even Hunter remarked that it was cold in the family room this morning.

Judie said...

Good morning.

Slept in a little this morning and woke to bright sunshine and a lovely blue sky.

Eaglets and adult in the nest also enjoying some sunshine.

Checked on Big Red at Cornell and it is windy and snowing there. Brrrrr

Kay, do what you can and then just enjoy your time with Eileen. She's the priority.

Headed across the hall to the t.v. Such a strange coincidence. Having an injured wrist seems to require putting my feet up to ease the discomfort. Crazy huh?

Good morning to all ♥

Kay - enjoy your company - good to straighten up the house for that reason. Family time is so rewarding!

Judie - hoping the 'feets up' will do the trick in making your wrist feel better. Maybe the wrists' bones are connected to the feets' bones!

Barbara I agree that spring housecleaning at the nest needs to be done.

Lynne - good on you for promoting Earth Day where it should have done some good.

Judy and Paula - thanks for yesterday's reporting on the eagles' activity.

Glo - thinking of you and hoping Patches will get better and back to herself day by day. She is such a sweetheart.

Shirley - hope your shoulder is better - Like Kay said - sometimes we just don't find out the cause.
Perhaps you just need some pure relaxation time.

Sandi - Love your avatar picture - she looks so precious. She resembles the Roberts !

BIG was taking on mystery meat and gave up Mom is just in middle of nest swaying in the breeze and lil is still down

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Maybe it is a stuffed animal, like the osprey used to get.

JudyEddy said...

REMEMBER one time a bear was in a nest I think it was blue years ago It does look like a stuffed one look at it now but still hard to tell NCTC what is it LOL Inquiring minds want to know ODC

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

The yellow feet were flapping in the breeze a while ago. And I would think a dead duck would be too heavy for the eagle to move with ease.

JudyEddy said...

stuffed bear forgot to add the stuffed part don't want anyone to think a real bear LOL

JudyEddy said...

I agree SHAR looks light weight for our little ones the size of chickens now I think and there is the houses near so it could be something they found on the ground I wish we had a zoom on it and a camera operator to zoom to see it LOL I know wish in one had and s--t in the other and see which fill faster my mom would say LOL I can dream though

JudyEddy said...

the web yellow is blowing in the wind OH is someone recording this

JudyEddy said...

BIG is watching the foot blowing and moving

Mema Jo said...

Even though the view of the "intruder Duck" ????? is good we are still guessing - lol
At least we know it sure lookds like a duck - whether it is a 'dummie duck' or a one time alive duck -
who knows.
Didn't some one see an adult defurring or defeathering it when it cam into the nest.

JudyEddy said...

the dufuring was in the bottomw of the nest when this was brought in they just stood with it at 11 for a bit

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

I was watching yesterday when it was brought in. I really couldn't tell what it was but I know the head and neck were sticking straight out like they are now. If it were a real duck, but dead by then, the neck would have been limber. I love investigative reporting. :)

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

And I think it would have been eaten by now or at least partially.

JudyEddy said...

Headin to lunch with Angie rain or not Keep a eye on our nest and the new adopted pet

paula eagleholic said...

Looking at the prey item..Can see yellow feet on it. Have never seen anything so light colored.

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Paula, those yellow feet flap in the wind too. They may prove me wrong, but I am pretty sure it is a toy. The eaglets can move it easily and nobody has been eating it yet. Remember the blue teddy bear in the osprey nest? :)

paula eagleholic said...

My impression is a stuffed duck?

I'm sure some of you remember the blue teddy bear in the osprey nest at Milford Point, CT. He blew away in a hurricane!

paula eagleholic said...

Too soft and furry looking for a duck :)

paula eagleholic said...

oH YEAh...if it was real it would have started to be consumed by now.

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

It's their cuddle-duck. :)

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Great minds Paula! :)

paula eagleholic said...

So I checked out Deb's video from last night...one of the adults picked up the "duck" and attempted one bite...looks like it has a hole in it and stuffings are coming out. Looks like more than one attempt to de-fur it...then adult gives up and moves to the 5 spot to check out the nestovers.

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Didn't quite have the innerds the parents were looking for.

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

I hadn't looked at that video Paula. You know they were wondering WTH?

paula eagleholic said...

Did I mention we have termites? Yuck! We get a treatment tomorrow. They will be here about four hours. Lovely, just lovely.

I saw when it came in and did lots of speculation of what it could be. I know the head/neck looked mighty stiff when it came in. That happens when they are pre-stuffed I guess. LOL!

Bit of excitement here!! I was in the kitchen and my sister, Sharon, called. I was talking with her when I spied a SNAKE on the floor here in the den!!!! Jack was close, thank goodness, and he got the snake with a bucket and a cookie sheet! Lol. Not sure what kind of a snake, we tried to identify it. But, did not like the looks of the shape of its head. Jack is hauling it off to release it. He could not bring himself to kill it. Not a big snake, BUT a snake! Shudder!

Good Evening Eagle Buds. Just got home from Outback where I got my 2nd promised B'Day dinner. Lobster, of course & some for tomorrow's lunch.

My first look at nest seemed like garbage had fallen from the sky! The yellow looking "neck" on left looked like an aerosol can coming out of a sack! Now I can see footies--must be a stuffed animal!

I loved that teddy bear in the eagle's nest a few years ago. Was one of the Hancock group I believe.
I can't remember seeing such large wings on Eaglets. Maybe when they grow up they'll work for Boeing!

Our wild animal skills here are non existent. Have not been able to catch kitty who should be having Amoxicillin and then Neosporin on her neck. She keeps scratching & it's making me nuttier that I can't help. I'll have to ask vet if we can trap her again and if she can handle more shots. We've never had to deal w/anything like this before. Thank goodness all the outside female cats we know (but 1) have been fixed!

For the important group~~~Prayers that Jo's tests will be A+, Shirley's shoulder gets better, Judie's wrist heals ASAP, Larry is ALL OK, & so glad Shar is up and at 'em!

Went to my new GP today. The best in the world that I had for 30+ years retired. ;>( When I told him my list of body parts that are sometimes painful or don't want to work, he said our muscles get weaker as we get older (DUH!) and the joints have to bear more of the physical load, so it's usually arthritis, etc.--Ibuprofin or Aleve, or if you get really bad see an orthopedist. Gee, that was enlightening! ☺ At least some back pain now and then is not sciatica! Hooray.
And that's enough about that!
Have a great evening~~if I don't get back, SED!;>)
