He didn't even bring lunch either. What's up? Thanks you , no snow went on the nest or the eggs. Unbelievable! Those two have it just down pat.

I was kind of wondering if that was Belle that arrived...looked pretty big...

but I have NO idea these days....

Hello Eagle Pals...

carolinabeachmom said...

Hey there Margie. Nice to see you on again. Lunch time or what? I am having a hard time telling them apart too. Jo says that Belle has an inverted v in the middle of the white feathers in the front of her neck. I sat here and worried how the exchange was going to take place, and me of little faith. It just went as smooth as ever.

Be careful in that snow.

stronghunter said...

It seems that my windshield washer fluid is okay, maybe there was some ice in the way. Anyway, Hunter learned how to refill the container.

Wonderful, Shirley...those Life Skills are so important...especially when they help Grandma out !!!

Hi Candy ! Roads were poor, but I've poured so much money into this Chev Blazer over the years, I felt the Need to get my Money's worth !!! It did very well, I had the 4WDrive engaged...

yes, I look at those feathers....I'm at a loss, I don't get to "Gaze Upon the Parents" as often as I used to be able to

xoxoxox !! ☺ ♥

I too, was soooooo impressed with that wing shake-off, retreat, and the next parent-roosting in place so swiftly !!

I'm thinking/hoping work has all the Snow Details covered in schedule...I am off this week-end, Jewels IS on the schedule....but I guess I have to be "at the ready."

The weather forecasters were right. We are now getting a wintry mix--rain, sleet and snow is coming down on top of a sizable amount of snow.

Our eagle looks very cold sitting there. I am guessing this is Shep. There is not a mombrella.

good afternoon from the daughter's house. am snuggled in here for the next 24 or so hours.

went to work yesterday. it was snowing before I left. I stayed long enough to help prep for todayas the clinic was closing @ 5 yesterday. wanted everyone to get out ASAP

I ran a couple errands and came home.

we were going to Amelia's soccer (indoor) game today, but it was canceled due to weather. it has been raining since I've been up.
but the ice is hanging around, there is some flooding it is just a mess right now.

today is my son in law's bday. I am here to watch the kiddos over night so chels and chris can have some time to themselves. so far, so good. tom will go home later to take care of our furbabies. then he will pick me up tomorrow afternoon.

everyone stay warm and safe out there. warm hugs to all!

Sandi said...

Evening all! I see a very snow covered eagle in a very snowy nest. It's impossible for us not to humanize our eagles but like Delphia said on FB this afternoon,
"Remember that they are designed for this - millions of years of evolution at work here! Belle and Shep are real troopers!"

Upstairs is dusted, vacuumed, floors have all been cleaned and 3 bathrooms are gleaming. Last load of laundry is in the dryer so my work is almost done.

Margy, it was great to have you on the blog today - please come back more often!

Judie, hi to you if you are reading the blog today!

Kay, I'm surprised that Penny loves the snow. My two won't even put their feet in it - they go right outside the door in the pine needles that are under cover, do their business, and scoot right back into the house.

Judy, you should be on staycation by now, right??? Enjoy your week! What do you have planned?

Hoda, thanks for the concern but I really am feeling just fine today. I'm almost wondering if it wasn't a stomach virus at all. I sometimes have real problems with fatty foods that don't agree with my digestive system and I'm thinking that may have been the problem since we had ribs for dinner the night before I felt sick and then I ate the leftovers the next day for lunch.

Our air temps have risen all day to the point that we are finally above freezing! We have turned off the water that has been running in several of the sinks and one bathtub to prevent frozen pipes. The precip that is coming down here is a mix of ice and rain but it is supposed to turn to all rain.

Time to feed people and pets and then watch some TV. Have a good evening! Goodnight Belle and Shep - you are such magnificent creatures!

Oh, Belle has arrived at the nest to take over for the night!

Sandi said...

Belle is tenting over Shep - how sweet!

JudyEddy said...

eagle up and moving pushing snow with beak in front

Sandi said...

She also seems to be nudging him to get up. And there he goes. Smooth transition - those eggs didn't even get chilly! Goodnight Belle - goodnight my eagle friends!

JudyEddy said...

wiggle wiggle down we go

stronghunter said...

I see Belle tenting over the eggs in that snow. Darkness is coming, and she is doing her job as a mother eagle. Good night, Belle.

WVJerry said...

Good evening. I was too busy at work to check Cam and got home and went to get pizza, shoveled our snow and neighbor's snow and ate. Just getting squared away. Roads were bad coming home home. Took my time and had no problems other than other driver's actions. I'm guessing around 6 inches here at house...it was changing to sleet but I think it stayed snow, too. Got more shoveling tomorrow...city plows in our mailbox and mail person won't get out to put mail in box. Hopefully I can check Cam in AM. Good night and take care all. Sounds like Belle and Shep did fine with the weather.

Lolly said...

Hi all! On our way home. Jacob's Bb team lost in the final game, so ended up 2nd in the tournament. Only game they lost all season! Proud of them!

Joey's birthday was a bust! He is sick again! We ate his birthday dinner and birthday cheese cake and he did not eat a bite! In fact he stayed in his bedroom the whole time!

Had fun with Laurel and the boys!

stronghunter said...

So sorry, Lolly. Hope Joey feels better very soon.

I hopped on just to say good night. SED, everyone. I will see you tomorrow.

A prayer for Belle and Shep and for all creatures on this cold night, especially the wild ones who live outdoors at the mercy of nature. I saw some little birds under the tarp on our firewood this afternoon. I hope they are finding shelter there.

JudyEddy said...

Lolly so sorry the Bday boy wasn't us to partying.

Had a nice evening with family

JudyEddy said...

Up for partying not us

Lolly said...

Joey was sick on our trio to Colorado Thanksgiving. He was sick Christmas and now sick on his birthday. He is catching everything that goes around at school.

Home and headed to bed. Night all!

SED!

Sandi said...

Goodorming my eagle friends. It's 42 degrees here and still raining - much of our snow has melted. I am grateful for the warm-up; I have had enough snow days. I don't want to go to school beyond June 12th and we have used 4 of our 5 days built in.

Lolly, it sounds like Joey's immune system needs a serious boost - this is his 2nd year of teaching, right? Poor guy! Loved the photo of Joseph and Bosco on FB - that Bosco is one BIG puppy!! Is he finished growing yet??

Nest is still too dark to see anything but it doesn't sound windy. Not sure what to expect to see when it becomes visible - it sounds like Baltimore and surrounding areas got a lot more snow than the forecast predicted.

Tennis for me at 9, then I think I will get a jump on the 4 IEPs that I have coming up. I can at least put in some of the sentence starters for certain sections and then come back and finish the sentences after I've collected the data about each student.

Have agreat day all.

Sandi said...

I can see one tucked eagle in a snowy nest - looks like Belle from the size.

carolinabeachmom said...

Good morning all . Rain here on the Outer Banks and it looks like it has gotten a little better at the nest. Geese flying overhead, but eagle is napping in what looks to be a little less snow, thank goodness. Just checking in to see how things were going. Headed for mass and then breakfast out with the choir. You all try and have a wonderful day.

WVJerry said...

Good morning. Got a little time to watch Cam. Can hear NCTC crew plowing snow from the beeper sound. Someone taking a nap on eggs now. I think our forecast was 5-9 inches of snow. Hard for me to tel but I'm guessing around 6 inches at our house. Hopefully some melting happens. I need to get my Driver's License renewed tomorrow. Hopefully I can pass eye test without my glasses...did 5 years ago....not sure now. I'll check in later. Have a good day.

stronghunter said...

Good morning,

I am looking at a tucked eagle in a mound of snow. It looks very cold but very peaceful at the nest this Sunday morning.

stronghunter said...

I hear the melting of snow outside my window. I think Hunter will be going back after having a whole week off from school. It will be good for him.

WVJerry said...

Eagle calling now.

stronghunter said...

Eagle calls--I think Belle is telling Shep to get himself into the nest.

stronghunter said...

Egg roll.

stronghunter said...

Good morning, Jerry. :)

stronghunter said...

Wiggle, wiggle.

WVJerry said...

Egg roll and back on eggs.

WVJerry said...

Good morning Shirley. Starting to warm up some here now.

WVJerry said...

Calling again.

stronghunter said...

Yes, a little warmer here, too, Jerry. I heard her calls. I think she needs a break and wants Shep to come in and give her some relief. Probably also wants him to bring some breakfast.

Sunshine shining on her now.

stronghunter said...

Ok, Shep, where are you?

Poof Belle. Eggs alone in the nest.

WVJerry said...

Up and poof. MT nest.

WVJerry said...

One back in.

stronghunter said...

Good morning, Shep. (I think it's Shep.) Settling on the eggs.

WVJerry said...

Eggs covered. Good points Shirley.

stronghunter said...

Supposed to get up to 49 degrees here today. There will be melting.

So, maybe there will be some melting at the nest as well. Our eagles could use a break in the weather.

stronghunter said...

Yes, supposed to get to 44 degrees in Shepherdstown today. There should be thawing at the nest.

Mema Jo said...

Good Sunday morning to all ♥
I love seeing the dripping of the snow melting! It is almost 34° here in the valley now and could get up into the low 40's. The weather at the nest is very similar.

I was awaken by the noise of a snow blower in our driveway - last evening and again this morning our neighbor was helping us out. Bless him ♥

stronghunter said...

Hearing "beep, beep" at the nest. I think Jerry mentioned snow removal at NCTC. Sounds reasonable.

A snow blower in the driveway. How nice of your neighbor, Jo. We left our snow blower in Ohio when we moved to Virginia. There have been times when it would have been nice to have it, though I have to admit that it would be more than 30 years old by now.

JudyEddy said...

and a fine good Sunday morning at I see its sunny and 35° at the nest Yeah no more snow

stronghunter said...

And now the crows are hollering again.

stronghunter said...

Good morning, Judy.

Lolly said...

Good morning!

Sandi, Cosmo is 11 mo old. Not sure if he has finished growing or not. He brought me toys yesterday. He loves to play tug of war. Also, he and Joseph have a wrestling match each night. Just wish Joey believed in training the dog. He jumps on people and tries to escape out the front door. If he gets out, he is gone!! He bolts and boy is he fast!

Heading to church soon. Presently 45 but storm warnings starting this evening. Sleet and freezing rain coming and high tomorrow in the 20's. After church picking more daffodils for the house. I have arrangements in every room. Yep, in the bathrooms, too!
Took a cam peek. Good to see the snow going away!

stronghunter said...

Training Cosmo--That does sound like it might be good project for the boys. I was intrigued with the way Will trained Sassafras. Let them have a bag of dog treats and a bit of time. Cosmo is probably smarter than Sassafras, or at least not as stubborn.

Kay said...

Good Morning Eagle Buds!!!

Happy to see a melt in progress at the nest!

I envy you "Southerners" with your thawing temps. Here it will get to the low 20's today, but tomorrow's high is to be 9°---worse than that with wind chill. In the deep freeze here for the foreseeable future. Brrrr.

Yes, SANDI, Penny is surprisingly happy with snow--guess she had good experiences with it when growing up with her first family.

Prayers for all in need!!!

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

stronghunter said...

Cosmo looks like a dog our neighbors had once. He would escape into the neighborhood and dearly loved the fact that everyone was chasing him. Once, Susan and I doubled back to the house, and there was the dog waiting for everyone to figure it out.

Now, basset hounds are different. They don't run away so much as just wander off. Of course, if you try to catch them, they just might wander a little faster. They aren't as likely to be waiting for you back at the house because they probably don't remember the way back, and besides that scent they are following is just too interesting . . . It is helpful when the neighborhood knows what your dog looks like and will inform you if they happen to see a wandering basset hound.

stronghunter said...

Eagle taking a nap . . . head tucked. I do not know which one this is.

stronghunter said...

Kay, I do not miss Columbus right now. We have enough of winter here in Virginia. But there is melting today.

I did go out and throw ice melt on the back steps and the front walk. This is how I did it: I stood on the back porch in a safe spot and threw handfuls of the stuff down the steps until I had gotten every step. In front, I stood on the covered front porch and tossed the stuff onto the steps and the walk. Even got some on the driveway. Did I test the effectiveness of my efforts? Nope. I stayed in the safety zone.

That ice melt stuff is getting walked into the house big time. I am trying to protect the hardwood. It suffers the most. I did buy the expensive stuff that is supposed to be safe for pets, surfaces, and such.

Oh, and Hunter and Kathryn bought me a 40-pound bag of birdseed. It is good that Hunter brought it in. I am not up to hauling around 40-pound bags of anything.

carolinabeachmom said...

A lot of people have awakened now! :) Yes, it is good seeing the snow start to melt at the nest. We just got back from mass and breakfast and are getting ready to go for our walk while it is still warm. I think it is in the 50's here at the Outer Banks. Our porch and steps are finally clear of ice.

carolinabeachmom said...

All seems fine in the nest. I hope Belle can find something for her lunch as Shep didn't bring any back for her before the change. It still sounds like you have a lot of wind up at the near, but our Royal Eagles can handle it and anything else that is thrown at them> :)

carolinabeachmom said...

Walk time

stronghunter said...

Someone is plowing our roads with a tractor. Not sure if it is hired by the proper government agency or what. They might very well have engaged some extra employees today. It will be most helpful to have the streets clear for school kids and for those who need to work tomorrow . . . and for those who are out and about today.

JudyEddy said...

42° at the nest snow snow go away keep melting for us and no snow forecast for the next couple of days
till next Sat some snow will be there
Don't want to say to loud but we are

JudyEddy said...

44° the temp when I clicked on it to find my temp so hopeful the snow may all melt The eagles need to stomp in it to break it up for easier melting Just a thought LoL

WVJerry said...

good afternoon all. Snow melting fast.:-) getting ready to watch race. kinda like the 88 and 17. enjoythe rest of the day.

carolinabeachmom said...

Back from our walk. It was a pretty cloudy, but nice day to walk. I keep think of Lolly and her house full of Daffodils. Lucky duck. They are always a reminder to me of spring around the corner.

Well, all looks calm here, so guess I'll go over to FB to see what my local friends are up to. I will still have the nest up on here to keep a watch.

stronghunter said...

I haven't seen any sign of daffodils around here yet. Would love to.

Sandi said...

Hi all - how great is it to see the sun shining on the nest and to hear that temps in Shepherdstown are in the 40s?! Still gray here but at least the rain has stopped - a lot of snow has melted!

Tennis was good fun and great exercise.

Lolly, I'm sorry I called Cosmo by the wrong name - Bosco was their last dog, right? Or was he your dog? I know he belonged to someone in your family!

OK, time to get some school work done. Later!

JudyEddy said...

Going to see if I can get the race on my computer Been sitting on the porch swing just enjoying the time outside If not I wonder if I can get my TV out the window LOL Don't want to sit inside and watch the race being its so nice out after the past couple days being cold in the 30-50s

JudyEddy said...

at the nest is 44° according to the TWC app in my tray of computer

JudyEddy said...

CHALLENGER FLY OVER AT RACE SO COOL

stronghunter said...

Oh, it is excellent to see the additional snow-free space around the egg cup. Yay!

WVJerry said...

JudyEddy said...

poof

stronghunter said...

Calling again. Either he is antsy to be off and flying or something is hanging around the nest area.

That was a big shake, and Shep got off the nest. He is still calling out.

Another shake and Shep poofs off to the right.

JudyEddy said...

and back on esgg

stronghunter said...

Eagle in. Wiggle, wiggle.

WVJerry said...

Eggs covered now.

stronghunter said...

Arranging flugg.

stronghunter said...

I think this might be Shep again. Anyone else?

Sandi said...

I guess Shep was letting Belle know he had had enough of egg sitting! Saw 3 beautiful eggs alone in the nest for a few seconds until Belle landed and covered them up.

Saw on FB that Blackwater thinks egg #3 has a pip in it and the 2 chicks are doing fine. Apparently their camera image improves when the weather warms up.

I am IEP drafting and eagle watching - don't want anyone to think I'm slacking!

stronghunter said...

Heard a rumble from above here at home. Wondering if snow pack is shifting on the roof. Might not be the best time to venture into the yard.

JudyEddy said...

moving flugg around helping in melting the snow pick here pick there

JudyEddy said...

having a time with the one stick there it seems

Sandi said...

Shirley, you could be right - I just assumed Shep took off and Belle came in. But I could be wrong.

The sun is trying to come out here in Bethany.

OK, back to work for me.

stronghunter said...

Looking for Belle's inverted "V." Kind of hard to see it. Eagle is being very active.

stronghunter said...

I am sure you are not slacking, Sandi. I have always had respect for special ed teachers. You have so much paperwork to do.

stronghunter said...

I don't see the V. Maybe Belle told Shep to get himself back down there. She will have to do the entire night shift, and she needs her afternoon. Lots of stick-moving taking place. I think Shep is still antsy.

stronghunter said...

Belle: It's like this Sheppie-boy. You have a brood patch too. God put it there for a reason. Now quit your complaining and get yourself on those eggs. You wanted a big family. Now deal with it, buddy.

Shep: Yes, dear.

stronghunter said...

Looking up.

stronghunter said...

I am being hollered at by blue jays. I wonder if they will come pecking at my door. Kathryn swears they did yesterday.

JudyEddy said...

sure is busy with picking flugg

stronghunter said...

The stick-moving is helping to get rid of snow, but it's making a mess in the nest. Just look at all of those sticks strewn about.

JudyEddy said...

my tablet is picking up better sound on it I can hear pecking of sort

stronghunter said...

I thought it was the sticks being moved, but I'm not sure what it is, Judy.

JudyEddy said...

that is on feisty eagle today with moving stuff being a snow plow you say SHIRLEY

JudyEddy said...

I guess that would be the same as us sitting here not being able to move so we type LOL

stronghunter said...

I'm about to fall asleep, Judy and Sandi. You all might need to hold the fort down.

stronghunter said...

Looks to me like he's making one huge mess.

stronghunter said...

"Oh, no, Belle, I did not make this mess. Two odd characters came into the nest and did it. I think they were called Thing One and Thing Two."

stronghunter said...

Maybe we are hearing Belle sitting up there near the microphone.

JudyEddy said...

back to watching the races with the tablet on lap and laptop on stool ad desktop also up with cam LOL I think I have a obsession

Lolly said...

No problem! Bosco was their previous dog. He was half Great Pyrenees. He was big, but not like Cosmo! He lived to 15 or 16. Joey always wants huge dogs! Laurel loves Luke's size. He is a Bishon. Sp?

It is raining, temp is dropping, now 42. It really starts tonight with sleet and freezing rain. Grocery store was wild. Forgot a few things last night so went after church. Got home and Jack brought more firewood down from the back to the patio and I went and cut daffodils. I still can not get over how many we have blooming this year. There have been years when I loved having one bouquet in the house. Have six right now and you would not know I had picked any!

JudyEddy said...

Lolly said...

I am so sad. Neighbors who have been feeding stray kitty and have said they talked with friends about taking it to animal shelter....have NOT done so. Kitty is on our covered patio and meowing. Can not bring it in as it could have fleas, worms, etc. so, we have made it an insulated box with cat bed on the patio and put out food. When weather allows I guess we will take it to Ft. Worth. Great animal shelter here but we do not live in the city limit and they will not accept it from us. I am so disappointed in neighbors.

Skippi is at back door meowing too! Think they would be friends, but we just can not take on another kitty. We plan to travel with Skippi. Oh, I am so upset!

Now to the TV for the evening.............. It is still about 39° and I hope it doesn't drop much lower Roads are really clear. BBL

JudyEddy said...

one hour later temp up to 39 and just clicked on the link because it turned red and they are saying low tomorrow for nest is -1° and with the sun melting the snow there is a ICE FREEZE warning for the nest area

JudyEddy said...

20° is going to be the lo for tonight I failed to type

NatureNut said...

Good Evening Eagle Buds!
Hope most of you got to defrost today. We had close to 50°!!!! this PM. Trouble is that most of the week will have highs below or near freezing. Does that mean icy roads??? I hope not. We need some giant road water vacs!
Busy TV day~~~Daytona 500 race and now the Oscars.
Earlier today I saw Belle (I think) poking around in the snow and flugg at the edge of her nest well. Looked like she was trying to move snow away. What dedication!
Have a good evening. Get to learn about all the movies we probably won't see! ☺

stronghunter said...

Watching the Oscars. Did not see the first part--forgot, and Kathryn was watching Chopped for awhile. She has gone upstairs to watch The Walking Dead, and I found the Oscars.

stronghunter said...

Had to disconnect my bird bath warmer. It seems it was flipping a circuit breaker. I will check things out tomorrow and see if I can figure out what is wrong. Maybe just a loose connection.

The bird bath warmer was connected to the same circuit as the Fios/Internet/phone, so I noticed when it went down. Will came home to help me figure things out.

stronghunter said...

Schools here are on a 2-hour delay tomorrow. We still have plenty of ice and snow.

Lolly said...

Denton schools have been cancelled.

Just went out to get firewood. Thought the kitty was half out of her box BUT it was an opposum eating the kitty food! Not sure who was more startled, me or that large rat! Lol

Good night and God Bless us all.

Speaks of snow here Wednesday and I am laughing my head off ready to bring my skis in and take out the bicycle...ground is no longer frozen!!!

Stay safe back east.

stronghunter said...

Good morning,

Our eagle is sitting pretty in a nest mostly free of snow.

Hear some wind blowing there.

Above freezing here.

Hunter and Luna are still sound asleep--at least it is all quiet upstairs.

Good grief, Hoda, what a list of activities.

Enjoy all of those spring flowers, Lolly.

Have a good day at school, Sandi.

stronghunter said...

Eagle calls. I think that is Belle, and the calls sound plaintive--She wants a break from egg sitting.

And here is Shep with breakfast. She is mantling over the food, having moved off those 3 eggs. He took a short flight over her.

After a few bites, she has poofed with the food and he has settled over the eggs.

stronghunter said...

Saw some visuals from Dallas-Fort Worth, Lolly. The roads are definitely ice-covered. Not fun driving on that stuff, especially for people who are not used to it. Plenty of people like that around here as well. People in the DC area do not do ice-covered roads well at all.

stronghunter said...

Shep . . . at least I think it is Shep . . . is brooding. Nest is really almost free of snow.

Mema Jo said...

Good late morning to all ♥
Just now signing in for the day - love it that the nest is snow free.
I still have lots and lots of cardinals feeding here. Of course, the squirrels are always here.
Our high yesterday was 45° but the rest of the week doesn't look that good. Lolly stay indoors with your daffodils and think Spring! Hard to accept that FEB is almost out the door.

Good later in the am eagle buds. Just got back from picking up prescriptions, visiting the library to return and renew a book, stop at my old school to see my old teacher and then came home to do my daily fast walk in the drizzle and windy winds. Our nest looks a lot nicer than it did a couple of days ago. I like it. Now if it would just stay that way.

Will be watching from the sidelines while on facebook. You all have a great day!

Lolly said...

Good morning! Enjoying my daffodils I have inside, but the hundreds outside are goners! So sad! It is 26 and our world is covered with ice. Looks like snow but it is ice. The. Daffodils are all bent over and frozen. I could have picked more but I think the smell would have been over powering!

See an eagle in the sun! That is so good.

Doing nothing today. Will do our "walk", but house is clean so think I will read or work a puzzle.

stronghunter said...

Egg roll.

stronghunter said...

Daffodils are pretty tough, Lolly. It takes a lot to do them in completely. It would be nice to hope that at least some of them will weather this storm.

Just thinking about how huge this nest is. I can remember some of my students thinking that the adult eagle is a baby because it looks so small in that huge nest. Just looking at the nest and the eagle, they had no perspective to show them how large the nest really is.

I also remember the day we kept hearing strange sounds in the classroom. It took me a little while to realize that I had the nest cam on in the background and we were hearing the wind blow at the nest.

Gracious me!!!
What currency is it in???
I know the Canadian Dollar is dropping but we are not supposed to go below .62 cents!!!
Wow! There is talk of deflation here!
I am hoping not!
You tell Mr. JACK to cut down on the zeros!!!
Yoga and meditation will teach him he does not need all those zeros!!!

Good afternoon all. I see eggs are being kept warm. Haven't had much time to watch Cam today. Got up a little late and then had to go to DMV. Spent over two hours there...busy Monday at end of month. Renewed my Driver's License - was pleased I passed vision test without my glasses. Also noticed I could register to vote at same time and filled out paperwork. I have never voted and I think it is really late in life to start. I guess I will get something back in mail. Enjoy your evening. I will try to check in tomorrow from work.

Lolly said...

Hoda, Jack says "yes, it might help, but he an not afford the workshop!"

Hoda said...

Yay JERRY, very glad you passed your vision test. Why do you need to pass it without your glasses? Is it a commercial class? Glad you passed.
Blessed Be.
It stuns me that you have never voted!!!!
Never too late to start.

Hoda said...

Ha ha ha ha!
Love you two LOLLY.
Tell Jack to meditate on it while in Tuscony sipping wine!

I have just returned from taking one of our sons to an appointment. We had taken him out to eat first.

It is staying light longer with each new day. It was 6:17 and the darkness was just starting.

Jerry with our MD driver's license it is also a means for selecting jury duty participants. And yes, a person can also register to vote at DMV.

Mema Jo said...

We are all procrastinators due to waiting until birthdays are near to the date we renew our license. Glad you don't need to wear your glasses when driving or at least your license isn't marked - but do wear them if you need to for distance!

Schools are closed again tomorrow. High today was 27. Slush on roads re freezing. And, another front and snow coming tomorrow night and Wednesday morning. This gives Laurel and Joey time to get better! Yea!

Mema Jo said...

I am going to be watching a TV show
I am also going to be eating some ice cream on top of my pound cake with chocolate syrup all over it!

For some reason I have lost 5 lbs so I need to get them back! lol

Everyone have a lovely evening
Lolly stay off the ice!

I will bid all of you a
Good Night!

Love to all ♥

So Hoda has some kind of plans for Lolly's abode. And Lolly has put a monetary value on the whole matter.

It does seem that Texas will be getting moisture this week, so maybe the summer will be delightful there. But then again, Hoda might get tired of the 100-degree+ temperatures.

Never too late to go express your right to vote, Jerry.

Hoda said...

I DO NOT DO 100 degrees!
Never have even when I was in Egypt!
Ha Ha Ha

Lolly said...

Moisture we get this week is not even putting a dent in our drought. When lakes are 20 ft down you need days and days of many inches of rain, not 1/2 inch of ice and 3 inches of snow. Thankful though for every little bit!!!

Staying off ice for sure!

Watching The Voice. So happy to have it back!

Night all! SED!

stronghunter said...

Hoda, I'll bet the 100-degree days in Egypt aren't as humid as the 100-degree days in Texas.

stronghunter said...

Pound cake with ice cream and chocolate syrup sounds wonderful, Jo!

stronghunter said...

I'm sure this week hasn't made a dent in the drought, Lolly. Things are really tough there.

stronghunter said...

Winding down here. About to head upstairs.

SED, everyone. See you tomorrow.

Hoda said...

SHIRLEY it depends. Prior to building the Aswan Damin the 1960's Egypt was not humid. I should say Cairo was not humid. The Nile runs right down the middle of the city so it was not oppressive. After the Dam it became unbearable with humidity. Alexandria also gets humid because of the Mediterranean

Good night all.
God Bless.

Goodorming my eagle friends. We are back in the deep freeze here - 16 degrees but feels like 9.

Neighbors of ours spent a month at their house in Outer Banks. They returned yesterday and walked into their house to water pouring everywhere from a burst pipe on their top floor. So there is damage to all 3 floors of their house. Someone had checked their house on Thursday and everything seemed fine - but on Thursday, everything was still frozen. When the temps rose over the weekend, that's when the problem became obvious. Poor Jay and Mary! Denny's company is doing the renovation and he said the job will take a couple of months.

Jerry, congrats on registering to vote! That's a big deal!

Have agreat day all!

Hi, Everyone,

Sorry I have been absent again for a bit, but things have gotten really crazy here. We are dealing with a leaky hot water pipe under our entry hall floor.
Our house is on a concrete slab, so the plumbers are going to do a "re-route" through the attic.
Since yesterday morning, we have had 6 or 8 people here, doing plumbing bids, measuring, marking where the leak is, and writing up a 10-page document from our insurance company. There is no obvious damage to the walls, but they detected water in them (Thank God it's a small, slow leak!), so they will have to tear out some of our drywall and dry things out. We have to have our drywall, etc. tested for asbestos because the house was built in 1962; they're coming to do so tomorrow at 10 a.m. Then the walls will be cut open, and repairs can begin. Neither Ken nor I have had a shower in over 2 days, because the water is shut off except for when we must flush the toilet, once or twice a day.
We have 2 big machines--fans with dehumidifiers--going in the living room/entry and the front bedroom, which showed some water in one corner. Insurance covers all but a $1,000 deductible, and will replace all our wallpaper and repaint the entry, LR, hall, and bedroom. Phew! More madness tomorrow still with more people coming. We might have to stay in a motel depending on the result of the asbestos test. Prayers, please! On a positive note, we get re-painted, and possibly re-papered. I want to just use paint, if possible. Tired of wallpaper. Will try to get back here tomorrow with an update! Must try to read back and see what's happening here. Stay safe and warm, everyone, and remember--no falling on the ice allowed! Stay safe on the road, too, please. Prayers for all, including our eagles and eggberts. I ♥ us!!!
