Saw a mature bald eagle on a roadkill near Paris, VA yesterday. It was right on the road, but fortunately flew off.

Waiting for the return of my Florida travelers. They are going to be in for a weather adjustment tomorrow, I am afraid, and then it is supposed to get even colder as the week progresses. And they were walking barefoot at the beach just yesterday.
Last report I got they were at the North Carolina/Virginia state line.
Hello again. I've been on the Hays eaglecam. It must be the camera or lighting, but the eagle appeared to have dark rings around or bulgy eyes. I understand there's a trail below the tree where I saw people walking who looked very short! What's neat is you can see well into the nest.
It's still over 60° here but getting very windy and a couple raindrops! Saw a possum when I was out, but stomped my foot. Haven't seen any other critters stealing the cat food since it got colder.
Haven't found a parka yet~!~~everything on sale is either the wrong color or size.

Power outages across the country. Accidents galore. BC says stay off the roads...not even in towns!

I have not been out of the flat since December 31st at 3:00 PM is when I came in. Car is covered. I might have to go out for food tomorrow. However I can make do still. I do have an optometrist appointment tomorrow... I'll see if I can get there!!!

Axl is a laid back kitty! Ashley held him all afternoon , only putting him down when she took him to the utility room. It is a large house and she is afraid he will hide somewhere. She was doing a good job of bonding, but Skippi would never have stayed in my lap that long. Also, Zach is loud, so Axl needs to get used to Zach. She goe to Orkney tomorrow and Zach does not have school, so her mom will be there as well as the maid. So, she is shutting Axl in the excersize room. I did hold him once and he did fine.

Thank you JO. Yes I will phone the optometrist. I went out to clear my car as I think there was two feet of snow on it...They will have to clear the roads early morning if I am to head out at all.
There is plenty to eat in the flat yet and lots to cook with so it is all good. I can wait this storm out. Hoping none of the accidents turn out to be too serious.
