Just signed in to this Fresh New Monday Thread - Thanks Steve...

Any chance of a Ground report on our

only been seeing the adults recently.

Good luck with your Pearly whites, Janet. You have a beautiful

Good early afternoon.

Thank you Steve for the fresh Monday morning thread and congratulations to Janet on her new feather.

Shirley, what did I miss? George is sick? I'm so sorry.

I posted a comment last night but it seems that the morning post simply repeated itself.

I remember I congratulated the college grad.

Good afternoon eagle buds

Thank you for the new thread Steve

Just washed a couple of windows while listening to Mom's CD collection. Need to weed out some of them. The one playing now is a Carpenters album and the song was "Rainy Days and Mondays". And of course it is Monday and it is rainy. I'll keep that one.

Prayers for all in need.

It is time to share a sad and heart-breaking decision that Darth and I have had to make.

We have waited 18 months too long to accept that Audrey and Grace are simply not the best fit for any of us and never will be. We soft-heartedly kept believing, wishing that the tide would turn.

We prefer true companion furbabies (think of Skippi) and our two are still aloof, literally untouchable, and while they run when they see the spray bottle, have continued to destroy several large oriental rugs.

We are in the process of gathering paperwork, obtaining vet records, etc. in preparation for the return which must wait until a foster family is available.

We wish the outcome had been what we have experienced in the past but that is not going to happen.

We have considered a return to our preferred Siamese breed but the Siamese rescue group (the VA arm of the TX rescue for Skippi) are extraordinarily cautious and we now have a "black mark" against us.

No need for comments. Just finally decided to share and to let you all know that I am indeed sad and down-in-the dumps, as is Darth.

Off to do puttering things. BBL

Oh, Judie, I am so sorry to read this. You are such good fur parents, but sometimes things just don't work out.

Janet said...

good afternoon.

JUDIE: big warm loving hugs.

heading to get the smile polished. would rather play in the pool.

I
did earlier, but, never enough.
last night when I took the girls out for their last potty break, @ 11 p.m. it was warm and I hopped right in and had a swim just before bed.

maybe the dentist could provide a pool for me to float in while my teeth are cleaned?

hugs

stronghunter said...

On George . . . He has a bladder infection and thyroid problems. I have medication for the thyroid. They gave him a shot for the bladder problems because he doesn't tolerate the antibiotic pills well.

He has lost weight, so I'm trying to find a food he enjoys. In his younger days, George weighed about 18 pounds, and we were trying to get him to slim down. Now he weighs a bit under 10 pounds.

stronghunter said...

Trying to picture you and the dentist floating in a pool while you're getting your teeth cleaned, Janet.

Oh, Judie! My heart breaks for you and perfectly understand. I, too, have to have a kitty that is loving. I questioned about getting a kitten but it has been awesome! And, having her be Siamese is just perfect. I wish the same for you.

Have put up a gate to keep dogs out if the utility room and therefore out of the kitty food and (yucko) the cat box. Hoping it works out. She was around dogs at the foster home.

Got out early into the yard. Only 94 now. Sad when you think 94 is low. Lol

Andy, enjoy CO! Would love to go again, but will have to wait until Nov.

Shirley, how old is George? So sorry he is sick. He has lost a lot of weight.

Just waiting for the Fritz group!

stronghunter said...

Lolly, George turned 17 in June. He is a senior citizen.

stronghunter said...

Siamese cats sound like fun. I've never had one, but one of my friends did and I remember hearing kitty talk from outside her apartment. Very talkative and quite loud.

Almost time to go get Hunter from camp. Tomorrow, they go to the water park. Later on is a baseball game in Richmond.

Hunter likes the camp. He complains sometimes, but he wants to go. He enjoys the water park and field trips.

Glad to see that Jordyn loves her camp. Hope she still likes things like that when she is a teenager.

stronghunter said...

Know all about keeping the dog away from the cat box, Lolly. Read somewhere that cat poop might even be nutritious for dogs. Oh my.

Sandi said...

Hi all!

Judie, I'm sorry to hear that things have not worked out with Audrey and Grace. You certainly gave them plenty of time to warm up to you and Darth.

Shar, good news that Thelma doesn't have anything more serious, even though I have no idea what Barrett's esophagus is.

Waiting for the temps to drop just a little more and then I will be taking a break from the AC. The high tomorrow is supposed to be 78 degrees!

Finished reading Nineteen Minutes this afternoon - interesting read about a school shooting and the subsequent trial. Author is Jodi Piccoult.

I will see everyone in the early AM - goodnight.

Heading to the pillows. May try to read a few pages. Tired tonight.

Sandperson is packed and nearly out the door. Have put out an APB for Jufie - MIA for some days now and suspect he and Hoda may be together in brownie land.

I wish they had thought of that when they called us/me and booked a Monday appt.

I made it though.

rest of the day, great.

one more day with the gal pals.

tired now. hitting the hay. denting the pillows. making use of sleepy dust.

Goodorming my eagle friends. Nest looks and sounds MT this morning. 63 degrees here with a high of 76 today - I'll take that!

Janet, don't think a person in the world is really excited about visiting the dentist, even for a routine cleaning! Imagine going to work at a job every day where you know the people you are going to see hate being there! At least you know your clients LOVE the service you provide for them!

Shirley, poor old George. Hope the new meds work for him.

Lolly, hope the dogs and Skippi are getting along - at least Skippi has already been around dogs, though not a puppy the size of Cosmo! Congrats to Joseph on reaching a height milestone!! Soon, you'll be looking up at him! :)

Bella goes to the vet for her annual check up and a 3-year rabies shot this afternoon.

Prayers continue for Jo and for Larry.

Have agreat day all!

GM all

53 here and 65 in the house. I'm almost tempted to turn on the heat to get the chill off. Should be warmer by the weekend.

Judie, I am sorry to hear that the cats didn't work out for you. I got my cat William as a kitten, thinking I could mold his personality, but not so.

I need to Lollypalloze a bit as my brother and wife and cat are headed back to VA and will stop here for a night or two. Doubt if I can get bro to do any handyman things--his Mother-in-law kept him busy.

Will keep all in prayer.

I love this weather - gets you up and moving as soon as your feet hit the floor & you get your cup of coffee.

No plans for the day
Just need to fill out some med forms
I wish I would keep a ledger as to what happened when......... Too much going on..

Sandi - good thoughts on professions! Nice to be able to make your clients Smile.

Enjoy your brief company Lynne.

Good morning.

First, the vet we've had for nearly 20 years returned our call yesterday and is mailing the required "vet" paperwork. He also volunteered that he would vouch for us as good furbaby parents. We are thankful. Have taken updated pictures of the girls as required.

Have looked again at the Siamese rescue group which is located down near Shirley, about 50 miles away.

Janet, I make appointments only on a day when my preferred hygienist is working.

Windows open. Sunshine pouring in. Such a beauteous day.

Plan to catch up on laundry, Dirt Devil the kitchen floor, just putter about.

I shall return.

Good Morning Eagle Buds !!!

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood and I'm about to venture out for my first errand run since the hospitalization. All systems are up and running so the trip to MI is a go. Yeah !

I must be some kinda nut, for I love to go to the dentist for routine cleaning. Both of his hygienists are super gals and I love the feeling of clean, clean teeth. I don't like it so much on the rare occasion when a cavity is found, of course.

JUDIE, hope another home for Grace n' Audrey can be found soon, paving the way for you and Darth to find a Siamese or two who will be a better fit for your home. You gave it more than the ol' college try and should have no regrets.

Oh, JO, doncha' just hate those med forms and all the red tape ?

LYNNE1, here's hoping your bro has some energy left for a task or two at your place.

SANDI, you're keeping the trail twixt your house and the vet clinic hot these days. Lucky dogs, Bella n' Jenni !

SHIRLEY and JUDYE, so glad the grands love summer camps ! Those days are over for all of mine and I miss their camping tales.

Love and prayers for all !!!

Happy to see that you are looking at Siamese kitty adoptions, Judie.

We made a change in dentists several years ago, and we're very happy that we did. I still feel guilty for subjecting my children to the first one. He would sneak up on you with that needle and stab you in the gums without pity.

I learned that it does not have to be so painful. Actually, it was Kathryn's ex who pointed out that our dentist was too rough. He was right about that. Too many people avoid the dentist because of fear of pain.

stronghunter said...

Haven't forgotten one trip to the dentist when I got a ticket on the way there--I'd forgotten to get a state inspection on time.

The cop did ask me where I was going, but he did not show any pity when I said I was on the way to the dentist.

It was a bad day.

Yesterday during race start Dragon Boat Practice
I saw an eagle's nest. Two eagles flew in I think there is a Juvie in the nest.
A third HUGE adult eagle was fishing from the shore it took off.
My heart almost stopped!

Wow!

JUDIE sorry about the cats.
It hurts you and DARTH so much.
You tried your utmost and no one can ask for more.
You have all of us to vouch for your efforts.

Hot here!
90's could not do the bicycle.
I did go to yoga though.
Coach asked last night to pace ourselves for exercise today. Tough practice last night and tough practice coming up Wednesday.
Races in Vernon on the 15/16 of August.

KAY how was the shopping?
Glad you will go to MI

WATCH OUT EVERYONE
WANNABE QUEEN HAS BEEN HEARD SAYING "OFF WITH THEIR HEADS" on FB.
When I said I will make myself scarce she called me chicken!!!
I never!!! Really??? Oh well stay out if her way I tell you!!!

Judie said...

Good grief, JudyE. Give us about a ten minute warning ahead of time when an eagle is going to be in the nest - I always arrive too late. lol

Nothing fancy tonight. Hamburger, sliced tomato, cucumber. Am tired. Laundry all day. Kitty search while waiting.

Spoke with Lolly about Skippi and the TX group. Does not seem to be the same organization after all. It was nice to hear Lolly's voice and that of Cosmos.

Headed to put my feet up. BBL

Judie said...

Thank you Hoda.

Use caution when doing your dragon exercises. Wouldn't want any adorable RCMP officers to have to give mouth-to-mouth. lol Well, maybe we would!

So what's the Queen got her jewels in an uproar about now?

Going to try to finish watching the news then head for the pillows.

Sandperson is making a ruckus in the closet so will be on the way soon.

58 degrees here this AM - I am sitting at the laptop with a blanket wrapped around me b/c I left too many windows open last night. Who would think a blanket in July!

Judie, I don't know a lot about cats but would it be better if you only had one rather than two? That way, s/he would be more inclined to bond with the people in the house rather than the other cat? Or can you have one cat that is still very aloof?

Hoda, I hope you are sleeping now!

Kay, glad you are back to feeling like yourself!

Tennis at 8am, then getting my fingers AND toes done, then hopefully headed to the beach with friends this afternoon (if it warms up enough to sit on the beach).

Prayers for Jo and Larry.

Hmmmm, headline seems to be Queen Wannabe May Have Absconded With The Sandman. It's selfish of me but I'm glad the alleged offense happened after he'd paid a call at my house.

JANET, it's grand that you and gal pals had such a good time. I'll be remembering Chris in prayer.

Thanks, SANDI ! I'm happy to be in the pink again and ready to hit the road for MI tomorrow morning. Proved to myself that my stamina level is okay by doing the errand run yesterday--putting things away once home, etc.. Will be making stops about every two hours on the way just be be sure I get some exercise and a refreshing break from driving. Seth doesn't drive and probably never will, but he's good company and that will make the trip very pleasant, I'm sure !
