Thank you SHIRLEY.
It is still Canada Day here!
Fire works going all over the place!
Gracious me!
This is an expense they could save, but I am sure they will not...
OK!
Will try some shut eye.

Good night and God a Bless

Prayers on going.

Goodorming my eagle friends. Nest is MT - all eagles are out doing eagly things.

Two more adults and one more child arrived last night from Missouri. We have been invited to be ain a boat parade on Saturday afternoon so, between now and then, the kids will be busy with decorations for our Hawaiian theme - should be fun.

Need to run to the grocery store before tennis. Prayers for Jo, Larry, Bev, and Thelma. Have a good day all!

good morning.
HODA: I am sure many women 65+ flirt. Flirting does not have to lead to anything. It can be fun, just to remind you that you are indeed very alive!

I am feeling better this morning. Thankful I have no sting allergies!!!

Cloudy this morning. We had a lovely shower last night.

STRONGHUNTER: hoping the tutor can provide much help!

Hoping everyone has a lovely day. Thinking of each of you! Light, love, hugs, and smiles to all!

Good morning to all ♥

Trying to find out some info on Bev and also see that Sharon is going to the doc for throat problem and cough and hurting chest.

Hi Shirley! Looks like your fourth is going to be like ours. Most of the kids have plans other then a picnic here at the house. I think I am ok with that this year. I see your face plant from last night! lol Reminded me of Wanda.

Mema Jo said...

No plans for the day except to stay inside and stay cool.

Everyone do the same if possible ♥

Morning, all!

I don't see a thing wrong with flirting at 65!!!

Worked in yard last night....finally trimmed the dead branches from the fig trees...they are slowly coming back...even have some figs!

Brother Steve is headed down this afternoon...Brother Phil and crew will be here Thursday night...still not sure how many we'll have for the weekend.

We are going to crab and fish and grill and shoot off fireworks...maybe go see some as well.

Should be a fun weekend.

Larry is doing good...he's been enjoying fishing...even caught a flounder or two!

Good Morning Eagle Buds!!!

Anxiously and prayerfully waiting for news from the Southern Delegation aka SHAR n' BEV!

Big laugh over comments re:flirting 65 year olds ! There is no age boundary when it comes to flirting ! I do not take part ☺. but have many friends far older than that who still enjoy a little eye batting!

HODA, I know what you mean re:the expense of fireworks as there are several days of Red, White and Boom in Columbus and it's suburbs. However, I do think we need the yearly boost in National pride generated by such celebrations.

SANDI, love to hear about the fun your visitors are having, including sailing in a Hawaiian themed boat as participants in the water parade! The kids will never forget this joyous year at the Robert's home.

PAULA, your holiday guests are in for a treat, too! Fun, fun, fun.

JO, hope the kids are bringing all the picnic fixin's so you can just sit back and enjoy the company!

SHIRLEY, glad you've zeroed in on the kind of help Hunter needs with math. The close attention you and Kathryn pay to his needs will pay off, big time! Love the bird story!

JANET, glad you're feeling better! Hope your sis is having a blast in Mexico!

Big storms overnight here, even upsetting Penny for the first time since she came my way. I snuggled her through the worst of it and then she happily returned to her bed.

Clear skies and a little cool off expected for the holiday. Our fun begins this evening with Seth's birthday dinner. I guess I won't know where it's taking place til' we're in the car and on the way.

Love and prayers for all!

Hi, Everyone,

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY, MARGY!!!
Hope your day was as special as you are!!! I miss your schmoozing with us, too!...Sorry that you and Jewels are stuck on different shifts. Bummer!!

Jo, prayers continue for you, and for Michael regarding his trip to Guatemala.

Prayers, too, for Thelma, Shar, Bev, Larry, and Laurel.

Judie, I agree that the bear situation is disheartening, indeed. Really frustrating!

Hoda, glad you had such a fun trip to Vancouver!

Ken and I have been really busy since yesterday morning. We found a dentist for him, since he had a bridge come out. He HATES dentists, due to some really traumatizing past experiences, so we needed to find a really nice, understanding dentist. We did!
1-800-Dentist recommended one, and she is a gem! Turns out Ken needs a deep cleaning, and some pretty extensive repairs, due to not having been to a dentist in literally decades. We don't have dental insurance now since Ken was laid off, but thank God, he qualified for a "Care Credit" account that can be used for dentistry and also eye exams, hearing aids, etc. That will certainly help! Prayers please, because Ken has an appointment for next Monday afternoon to get the dental work started. They're going to clean the quadrant where the bridge was located first, so they can then replace it. He feels somewhat better about going to this dentist, but is still pretty apprehensive. Oh--if we can stretch out this process a bit, we can sign up for dental insurance in October. We need to call and see when the insurance kicks in--November, or January.
Once Ken is all squared away, I'll need to go to the dentist to have a cleaning and see what I need. (I don't like dentists, either! Glad I'm impressed with this one!)

Well, gotta get busy here. Need to Lollypalooza our house! Will try to check in later tonight, but that doesn't always work out. Often have a 45-pound pup snoozing in my lap, OR I'm the one who falls asleep in front of the TV! Have a super day, everyone! I ♥ us!!!

My sister is still in the hospital and still with no answers. The doc said this morning he was releasing her but the nurse doesn't know anything about it.

Mema Jo said...

Going in to watch New Tricks - I think I may have seen it before but that doesn't mean I can't watch again

Andy - I'll be sending good vibes for the dental appointment. I hope
this dentist will remove all anxieties from Ken's past experiences. Word to the wise is to KEEP YOUR TEETH - I don't really like my dentures - they are comfortable and well fitting I guess it is just the idea...... ♥

Howdeeee! Laurel and boys have departed. Had fun, as usual. Attempted to get the boys to paint the fence around the herb garden. Joseph did well but all Jacob did was complain and demand huge amount of payment. LOL Have to admit it was hot and miserable. I will finish up the job.

Plans now for the 4th is to go to Laurel's. We will go to UNT for the fireworks. Jack has a job job of repairing Jacob's bed. He said he was just making the bed but I am sure it included too much bouncing.

Have been in correspondence with a lady about a kitty. I want to go visit the kitty and we will if I hear back from her. It is a rescue outfit. The kitty is a mix but looks Siamese. Not sure of the age but young. Anxious to meet her. Problem is she is at a foster home and the lady in charge is leaving on vacation tonight. Wish I would hear back from her.

stronghunter said...

Hope you can meet the kitten soon, Lolly.

Having a lazy day here.

Bad storm in Martinsburg. Cam is down.

Lolly said...

Well, we have a new baby! Have posted pics on fb. She is from a rescue group. She is apprx 9 weeks old. She is Siamese mix, 3/4 Siamese 1/4 Persian. She looks Siamese and will have long hair. She is very loving, purrs a lot. Her name is presently Layla, have not decided to leave that or not.

Lolly said...

As I sit here she is choosing to be on the chair with me, purring up a storm. She is attacking my iPad. So thrilled she is so loving. Was told she was "needy" and wants to be held all the time?

stronghunter said...

Congratulations, Lolly! Probably will be a talker, too, being mostly Siamese.

Mema Jo said...

Congratulations Lolly and Jack
Just looking at her pics on FB
She is a great age for adoption - may you have many many years with her.

Hope our eagles are ok - was mainly wind storm over there with lots of rain. Aaron lost part of a tree but in their back yard not near the house.

Terrific Tues TV night isn't running anymore - I have Father Brown and

Hello everyone.

Got my "do" did and promptly was rained on going out to the car. Hair stylist laughed. Blah!

Lolly, so happy you have a new and loving companion. Layla is a pretty name. She's a lucky girl to have been adopted by you and Jack. Wishing you a wonderful life together. Oh, no FB so if you can, a blog picture would be terrific.

Jo, take it easy this holiday weekend. Weather is going to be hot and humid. I find that a terrific excuse to just do the "feet going up" routine.

Paula seems to be planning a full house and lots of fun. Being on the water will be great. Very glad Larry Stufmuffin is feeling better and better.

As for Hoda, do not let her pull her brownies over your eyes. She was flirting with the RMCP officers, distracting them with her charm. Jufie ratted her out.

Sandi, glad your knight in shining armor came to the rescue. Have fun with the family.

Would like to hear some positive news from Sharon, Bev, and Andy's Kubby.

Shirley, happy the tutoring is arranged. Hunter will surely benefit.

Darth is at a concert tonight so I must forage for myself. BBL

Judie - did you read Andy's long comment above?

Sharon - Bronchitis and sinusitis, possibly pneumonia so she is treating for that too.

Bev - Cardiac enzymes, EKG, CXR all negative. I am home, feeling pretty crappy, but home nonetheless. Combination of hiatal hernia and a nasty bug. Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes. Love y'all!

That's all folks ♥

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, Gang,

Wow, Lolly & Jack, CONGRATULATIONS!!! I'm so glad you have a new furbaby, and that she's mostly Siamese! Gotta admit, Siamese is my favorite breed of cat. Their personality is just amazing. Our Jen has a Siamese in her household named Latte, who's managed to win over Marq, who "doesn't like cats."
HA! That was before he met Latte!
She is a force to be reckoned with!

Judie, Ken is actually pretty happy with the dentist we found!
She has a very calming manner about her, and she has explained her "plan" very thoroughly, step-by-step. We are both impressed by her gentle manner. I think this is going to be a positive experience for Ken! Updates will follow. He goes in on Monday the 7th for his first appointment.

Bev, glad to hear that you're "sprung" from the hospital!
Prayers that the nasty bug goes away, pronto!!

Shar, hope the meds have you feeling MUCH better really soon, too! More prayers!!!

Oops, gotta go help Ken in the kitchen. He's volunteered to start dinner! (Told you guys he's a keeper a long time ago. See why? He's a sweetheart, too!)
Will be back later tonight, I hope. Have a good evening! I ♥ us!

Lolly said...

Very tiring getting to know new fur baby. She fell asleep on my lap but Jack came home and she woke up. Played some more then fell asleep on Jack's chair. He would not disturb her to go to the bathroom. lol She is now awake and purring on my arm. Very very affectionate kitty. Yea! Going to take some getting used to a new kitty. She is adventurous and a jumper. Annie was never a jumper. She has visited her litter box three times but she has not eaten yet. She will in time I am sure. She is prumbling now, a cross between a purr and a rumble. :)

Mema Jo said...

Closing down for the evening before my last show comes on at 10.

Getting another storm and a little rain. Not as much as earlier.

Sorry all cams are down after the storm over by the nest.

Big thunderstorm here now. Using phone and battery almost dead.

Lolly said...

We have a chance for rain tomorrow!

Afraid not much sleep tonight. Layla loves to climb under my chin, purring and loving! We have found a winner of a kitty!,

She is very sensitive to sound. She can be a sleep, hear Jack move in the other, and instantly be alert. She is purring continuously! And, presently getting so sleepy.

I am happy!

Janet said...

good evening to all. its been another busy day.

LOLLY: love the new furbaby! I adore Siamese! I am sure she will provide you with many years of laughter and love!!!!

Work was good today. My private client 's son is getting married in October. She is hiring me to do about a half dozen 30 min massages the wed before. They are such sweet and wonderful people!!!

I was busy at work, and was pleased that when I left work it wasn't as wickedly hot and humid as it has been. Pleasant surprise.

I ran some errands and hurried home to , yes, you guessed it, the pool. Most afternoons between 3 and 5 that's where you will find me if you go looking.

We went to Lowes this evening and Tom bought me two nice new chairs for the pool deck! :) And I purchased some more of that RESTORE stuff for the deck. I need to pressure wash and then get going on it. Hoping to be done by the end of summer.

Olivia has bronchitis. Had Tom take her to the dr today as she wasn't getting any better ....nasty cough....holiday weekend coming up....let's go now. Glad I did. She's lost 4 lbs in the last week because she hasn't been eating. She really doesn't have much to loose. I did manage to get a frosty in her today.

My grand dogs are coming for a long visit tomorrow as the kids fly to Virginia Beach. This will be "fun"....busy! Beano will NOT be pleased!

And a hurricane /tropical storm heading up the coast. I told Chelsea batten down the hatches, stay safe and enjoy your visit. Va Beach rarely takes a direct hit and what are you gonna do? Flights may be delayed....just gotta go with it.

I am thinking of JUDYE: hoping she, Angie and crew are having a stinkin' blast!!!! She works so hard....she needs that break!

Hope all is well with everyone tonight Calling and night and goin to dent some pillows shortly!

SED to all!

Judie said...

Need to stop by quickly. Storming here with thunder and lightening. Shirley apparently got it first.

Thanks Jo. I skimmed the comments earlier and did not realize Andy had given an update and now has given on to me for myself. Happy the new dentist seems acceptable.

Lolly, so glad your little Layla is such a loving furbaby. How I wish our two were.

Positive thoughts for the southern delegation to be well and healthy soon.

For those headed east, may the storm stay away from the beaches.

Sandperson has donned a raincoat and high boots. Satchel for tonight is waterproof.

Restful sleep for all.

Judie said...

Ooops, Sandperson reminded me I forgot to wish Olivia a speedy recovery. He will stop by to check on her tonight.

Congratulations, Lolly and Jack and Layla!

Lots of busy news from Andy for her and Ken these days...some bright spots there for that dental work, Andy, and the Care Card coverages, Best Wishes for all these things

Prayers for Olivia, Janet... (medications do seem to help for that, but it's
a rough ailment for sure!)

Hi, Gang,

Dropping in quickly to say goodnight. Had a YUMMY dinner! Ken bought some trout fillets at Sprouts market, and they were great.

Oh, golly! Have added Olivia to the prayer list. Hope she feels MUCH better, very soon!

Lolly, your new kitty sounds like a real winner! Before you know it, she'll have both of you wrapped around her little toe!
Hope you get some sleep tonight.
I guarantee she'll want to snuggle with you.

I need to adjourn to the living room so Emma has a lap. Arming the security system, so be sure to remember your password. Sleep well, everyone, with SED. Goodnight, and God bless. I ♥ us!

Goodorming my eagle friends - no live cam this morning. Still sunny and humid outside but that's supposed to change today. We will see - I never trust the weather guys - I just look out the window!

Lolly, congrats on your newest family member!!

Guess who showed up at midnight last night ... Brian, Lynnis, Freyja, and the 2 dogs! :) YAY! So now we have a REALLY full house - 9 adults, 3 kids, 4 dogs, and an infant!! Thank God for inflatable air beds! Madeline is on the floor in our bedroom on an air mattress and Jacob and Michael are sharing a bed.

Getting my nails done at 9am, then off to the Dollar Tree to buy some Hawaiian stuff for the boat parade.

Have a great day all. Prayers for Jo, Larry, Bev and Thelma.

thank you for the positive energies for miss Olivia. she is a puny kid right now. I hate that for her. thank the sandman, either she slept better, I slept better or we both did. I didn't hear her coughing her head off last night....

work today. off tomorrow. volunteered for a couple hours on Saturday afternoon.

thinking ofeach of you...and btw, just my opinion, I LOVE the name Layla. Didn't know it meant night, but knew it was middle eastern. Our wise HODA knows!

Another hot hot humid day - expect more storms this afternoon and evening

Good morning!

Sandi, so very excited for you to have a house full and having Freyja there for her first visit to Nana's! That is awesome!

I am a zombie today. LOL We went to bed and Layla slept on my neck and shoulder. I spent the whole night on my back! She slept til 4 when she jumped down for a few minutes. She was soon back and decided to purr and search for a nipple in my hair!! I had my face covered with my hands and she started nipping gently on the tips of my fingers. It was a riot, except it was 4 AM. She finally settled down but started it all up again at 5 AM!!! Like I said....I feel like I have been up all night. Foresee a nap in my future!

Lolly said...

Chance of rain today, but it is sunny. Boo Hiss!

Judie said...

Good morning everyone.

Bright blue sky with humidity soaked sunshine.

Hope Lolly fills us in on Layla's first night. Thanks to Hoda for letting us know what it means. Exotic as are Siamese and cats like to prowl at night.

Certainly give Sandi credit for such a houseful. Can only imagine the fun decorating the boat.

Janet, glad Olivia got some sleep and hope she feels better today.

Andy, trout sounds yummy. So easy to prepare.

Hope Margy has a quiet day at work and can enjoy the 4th with Wanda, Miss GG, and the family.

Hoping the Southern delegation is on the mend.

Headed out to forage for food. Cat's are insistent. Darth is home for three nights.

Wishing everyone a lovely day.

Had trouble getting to the blog, but finally made it. Rebooted!

Little Miss Layla is napping on the table beside me. Jack has gone out to an occasion with fellow engineers. I chose to stay home. Could not leave my kitty tonight AND tomorrow. LOL

Still not sure about her name. Layla may stick but Jack has not come up with anything better. My sister suggested Ahsa as our first Siamese was AhSo. LOL I am just hoping for a better nights sleep!

Think I will go fix myself something to eat while she is sleeping. ☺

MERCY....hello all. Still having internet issues at home UGH.

SO Sandi, what a full house and so glad the baby is there for her first beach trip!

And Lolly has a new baby kitten! I saw pics on FB...I like the name Layla, but here in these parts, seems like every 4th puppy or kitten has that name. Maybe it'll stick, maybe in a few days her character will shine some more as she settles and a whole new name will occur to you!

Still reading back...

Lynne2 said...

oh my Hoda! FLIRTING!! Go for it! I have never been a flirter. I don't know how. My friend Christina was sure that was why I was single for so long. LOL!

Shirley, great about the baby bird! Fledglings...when they are too big for the nest and still to young to take care of themselves out of it are the most vulnerable.

the boss brought me a baby the other day. Had to pry it out of her cat's mouth. Looked to be a baby chipping sparrow. A fledgling. So I kept it over night to make sure it was OK and got some advice from a rehabber. By morning it was making a HECK of a fuss! I took it in my car in it's carrier down to the area where I have heard LOTS of chippies recently. I sat the carrier on the grass and retreated to the car to watch. Less than TWO MINUTES later, here comes an adult fussing all around the carrier! So I let baby out and withing seconds, the adult got a bug and fed him! He hopped across the yard and got another bug. I put him in a spruce tree to get him off the ground and then the adult got him a big ole grub! It was amazing! HOW DID THE ADULT KNOW IT WAS HER BABY SO FAST!!!??? There were other chippies around...I don't know! Nature is amazing. It was a beautiful thing to see first thing in the AM!

Hi, Everyone,
I'm back for a bit. Need to request some prayers for my iPhone, and Ken's too! Ken's croaked this morning, and the Apple Store at the mall said there was no fixing it. It was trying to do an update on the Fox News app, but got stuck. Ken tried to reboot the phone by turning it off and back on, but then it went really wonky and would either show the Apple logo, or the whirlygig arrow thing. Long story short, they tried to fix it, but lost every morsel of data in the phone in the process. My phone tried to do the Fox News app update all day, and now tonight, it's in the same condition--stuck, with no way to sign onto it and retrieve info, contacts, pictures, etc.!!!
This is DISASTROUS!!! All we can do is go to the Verizon place at the mall tomorrow, and get 2 completely new phones!--and start over from scratch. Ugh.

Does anyone here have a Samsung Galaxy phone? We'd kind of like to try it, but the Verizon guy said it's SO different from our Apple iPhones, it's really frustrating trying to learn how to use it.

good evening to all.

LOLLY: the Siamese I had years ago was a "wool sucker". It is a trait that I understand many Siamese have. She would knead in my hair, and curl up and sleep on my head....(I had long hair at the time). She would also knead and suck on blankets, etc. But only certain ones. She also had an affinity for photographs as in, she would lick them and eat them! :P Had to keep them all under glass.

I am sure others on here know more about this behavior than I do.

It was a busy day. I had a full day of work, then ran errands. I came home and took an hour nap before I did much else.

We are having a quiet day tomorrow. A couple of friends aresupposed to come by in the evening to grill and chat. They haven't been over in over a year....It is our dear friend Russell. He's been dating this gal for 18 months now...and we don't see or hear from him. Maybe in another year or so they will come up for air and remember they still have friends out here! lol

Tom completed the deck today! Hip Hip Hurrah! It is dandy!

I plan to work on staining the old deck some more tomorrow. A bit here and there and eventually all will be done.

SANDI: so glad you have such wonderful company!

ALL EAST COASTERS: be safe this weekend. Looks like some of you will have dicey weather.

LYNNE2: so awesome about the baby bird!!!!

Hope everyone has a peaceful and restful night sleep. SED and see ya in the morning

Goodorming my eagle friends - Happy 4th of July!

It is gray and just starting to rain here - rain is in the forecast for most of the day. Ocean City has postponed their fireworks until tomorrow and Bethany beach has as well, plus the parade in Bethany has been canceled for the first time ever. I bet there are LOTS of disappointed people who rented places from 6/28 - 7/5 so they could see the fireworks before heading home.

Fortunately, the boat parade is tomorrow afternoon at 5pm - I found tons of luau stuff at the Dollar Tree in OC yesterday so we just have to wait for this hurricane to go through so we can decorate the boat in the early afternoon.

I was awakened this AM by barking from Brian's and Lynnis's 2 dogs who were gated in the sunroom. Came downstairs to take all 3 dogs outside and, when I brought them back in, I looked for the bag of treats that I always have on the cedar chest to reward peeing and pooping outside (dachshunds often have bad bathroom habits and that's the case with all 3 of ours so we make a big deal out of pee and poop going in the right place). Anyway, couldn't find the bag of Pupperonis. Then I noticed what looked like little pieces of plastic on the floor. Turns out they were from the treat bag - found the MT bag of treats under the cedar chest. I suspect we may have 2 wiener dogs with upset stomachs today from eating an entire bag of Pupperonis!

Andy, my husband has the new Samsung Galaxy and likes it. I have a Samsung smartphone instead of an iphone as well but don't really know about the differences, having always had an android phone. As a Democrat, I could say something REALLY sarcastic about the Fox News app ruining yours and Ken's phones - :)!!! Instead, I'll simply say I'm sorry that you lost everything on your phones and have to buy new ones.

Today could be a LONG day - 13 people and 4 dogs all stuck in 1 house! But Freyja is such a delight! I imagine she will be passed around like a little football. I love watching Kevin with her - he has absolutely no interest in babies, but several times yesterday he came out of Brian's and Lynnis's room with Freyja in his arms saying he "heard her" and she needed attention. :)

Prayers continue for Jo, Larry, Bev, and Thelma. Janet, I hope Olivia is feeling better. Shar, hope you are on the mend as well!

Have a good day all - enjoy your July 4th celebrations today and tonight!

Paula, sounds like a great beach party at Paradise! Hope the weather is OK.
I think we're probably dodging the bullet w/Arthur. Hope it will keep going out to sea.
Daughter sent a pic of herself and said "look what I did!" We saw a puffy eye and thought she got into something allergic. Wrong!!!She cut her hair!~~first time since 10th grade!
On the kitty front, our vet brought eye meds last night for one kitten whose eyes were glued shut. Then he looked at the other two, and would you believe, they're all GIRLS!!!!! Frank finally took his hotel car out of the garage. Said it was clean as a whistle!

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY! LET FREEDOM RING!

Had a better nights sleep. Layla was on the bed with us but not on my neck. Also, she did not wake me up til 5:30. She wanted to play and likes going under the covers. She did allow me to go back to sleep. Yea! Just ate some lunch and she climbed my back twice, up to the head to launch herself onto the table. A big no no!!

Made an apple pie last night and we are presently making ice cream. That with wine is our donation to tonight's dinner. Heading to Laurel's soon. The boys want us to bring Layla, but not a good idea. Best she meet dogs on her own territory. Also not sure how she would do with PC.

Glad everyone is doing okay with Arthur. Have to laugh as Arthur is my paternal grandfather's name. A gruff man he was! My maternal grandpa was a sweetie.

Need to go get beautiful to leave. Have been out watering pots and look a little haggard! Or should I say sweaty!

Have a great day. Thinking of Wanda today. Wonder if she is with GG? Love you, Wanda! Hugs!

Hi, Everyone,

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!!!!

and...BEV AND TOM, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!! Hope your day is really special!

Well, we just got back from the mall a short while ago, and Ken got a brand new phone just like his old one. The guy at the Apple store was able to get mine working, and restore most of what I had on it. I have all my contacts, and quite a few of the photos that were on it. Now we need to work on adding contacts to Ken's phone.

Boy, I sure wish Emma was not so frightened by fireworks! They are supposed to be illegal in our city, but we've been hearing some in the neighborhood since dinnertime last night. When I took her outside after dinner to go potty, a big BOOM went off on the street behind us, and I thought poor Emma would have a heart attack! I've honestly never seen her SO frightened. We have a thundershirt that fits her, but it has no effect on her.
Took me over an hour to get her calmed down. We live fairly close to Disneyland, and she's OK with hearing their fireworks every night, but these closer ones sound like a gunshot. It's going to be an interesting evening here.

Good to hear from Jim! Hope you have a nice Independence Day, and hope all is well with you.

Lolly, glad Layla is getting settled in OK. Our Siamese, Mai Tai, used to chew socks and blankets, but fortunately left our hair alone. He insisted on sleeping under the covers, against the back of our bent knees.

Lynne2, so glad your baby bird story has a happy ending! That's wonderful!

Well, need to clean up a bit around here. Will try to check back in later tonight.

Have a great Independence Day!
I ♥ us!!!

Yes, thank goodness, Arthur has gone by. Kathryn took off to visit the River House awhile ago. Hunter is here with me because his dad will be here for him tomorrow.

We have a couple of Benadryl to give Luna this evening when things get noisy. In her senior years, poor Sassafras used to walk around the house peeing every time a loud explosion happened. Luna isn't that bad, at least not yet.

Happy anniversary to Bev and Tom. Hope the day was extra extra special.

Wonder if a good time was had by all at Miss GG's? Sure hope so.

We had chicken bones after dinner. Fox(s) made short order of those at the patio.

So dislike the illegal fireworks now going on in our community. Not only illegal but terrifies both Audrey and Grace.

Hoping everyone had a wonderful day of fun and gratitude.

Sandperson will be leaving soon. Restful sleep for all.

Goodorming my eagle friends.

Well, I had an interesting 4th! Around 1pm, Brian came out of the bedroom he and Lynnis and Freyja are sleeping in to announce that their bathroom was loaded with FLEAS!!!!!!!!! And of course we have 2 other dogs in the house!

So, I spent the day bathing dogs, getting flea treatment on all of them, vacuuming fleas (they are attracted to light/heat so we kept the bathroom light on all day and vacuumed every 20 minutes and then put the vacuum outside), washing everything of Freyja's, washing everything of Brian's and Lynnis's, washing all the bedding on their bed, vacuuming the whole first floor (thank God there is no carpeting, just a few area rugs in the living room), and washing all of the dogs beds.

Got carryout pizza for dinner (that counts as an all-American meal, right?), worked on making decorations and picking out music for the boat parade this afternoon.

Fireworks in Bethany were postponed and have been rescheduled for tonight. So today we will have our July 4th dinner. After the rain cleared out, it got sunny and cool and beautiful so we have turned off the AC and opened the windows.

Hope everyone had a great 4th - thanks Hoda, for the lovely e-card!

Prayers continue for Jo, Larry, Bev, and Thelma. Andy, glad your phone was salvageable.

Have a great day all!

Beautiful day here too so I am heading out to Dragon Boating and then to yoga and then to a bike ride in the Slocan Valley with a swim in the river.

Tomorrow White Water Rafting on the Same river.

If anyone was watching the Osperey Cam from Nelson, they removed the last chick and it is in rehab. The male died and two chicks died and the third chick had not eaten for 50 hours and the female osprey had left the nest and came back a without fish. She only incubated but did not feed the chick. Sad. Big reaction here and some want to make sure that the cam is taken down. People are upset. It is nature in action is what I think and has nothing to do with the cam...

Fox was eating some chicken bones we put out after dinner. Loud burst of fireworks made it race for cover.

Actually JUDIE time with Kristin is very challenging.
She constantly complains. She constantly refuses to take the opportunity to be part of community. She judges and ridicules that which is different than what she is used to! She is afraid people hate Americans or hate her because she is American!!! She is taking zero responsibility for herself and just complains.
It is draining. I do not spend much time with her and yesterday was the first time I had seen her in weeks. I came home exhausted almost in tears.
She loves the luxury of the house and is isolating herself there with her negative thoughts. I am worried about her but can not take on her scenario. I tried for weeks and she manipulates and controls!
Not good!
It is not a good summer for her.

Judie said...

Afternoon all.

Thank you Jo for the update on family 4th at GG's. So happy Robyn and Tori could join in.

Hoda, what a sad situation. No, you cannot own Kristin's thoughts and behaviors. Do as you always do - be sweet and remember you a gazillion reasons to keep your distance - you are just too active to have extra time.

Okay, off to get myself more presentable.

Good Afternoon, Eagle Buds !!!

Happiness is reading about all the 4th of July fun and foraging.

Unfortunately, my holiday went awry late Thursday night, when abdominal pain hit. Friday a.m. had to call Julie in to care for me and Penny. She spent half the day with me, until most of the retching subsided and then took Penny home. Must have been a 24 hour bug because by midnight I was able to hold down some toast and 12 hours later I had a bowl of oatmeal. Rib cage and abdomen very sore today and I'm exhausted. May not see my Penny til' Monday or Tuesday at this rate. Calling the doc Monday as I had two such episodes out in CO, chalking it up to strange food, water and altitude. However, nothing unusual consumed here at home. Prayers, please !

HODA, so sorry Kristen has heavy problems---there seemed to be no hint of it when she visited earlier. What a shame, but you mustn't spend a lot of time with such negativity !

Yikes, SANDI, "my dog has fleas" in triplicate ! Glad you knew exactly what to do. I was interested in your comment about doxies having poor potty habits. Thankfully, so far, 7 year old Penny shows no such signs. So, Freyja has won Uncle Kevin's heart ! Sweet !

JUDIE sorry your fox was frightened away by the booms! I'm sure you were enjoying watching him/her.

Love and prayers for all !!!

Hi all!

Kay, so sorry for the sickness! Prayer for sure for you to find out the problem and get better fast!

Sandi, so sorry about the fleas! Kitty came with fleas but the foster said she had given her oral medicine. I called our vet and they told me what to do. No more fleas!

Kitty has a name!! It is not Layla. That is what she came with and Jack really wanted us to name her. Well, she is (are you ready for this?) Miss Skippita or Skippi. You really did not expect a normal name, right? There is a children's book or books about Skippyjon Jones, a Siamese kitty that thinks he is a Chihuahua named Skippito Frisisco.#444444444OOOOOOOOOO
7H*O56=========================================================/+==============.Whoops, Skippi just said hi to you! She looks a lot like Skippijon Jones or Skippito, big ears, so now she is Miss Skippita. LOL

My name is Skippito Friskito.
I fear not a single bandito.
My manners are mellow,

Google Skippyjon Jones. You will see the collection on books and pictures. I mispelled the name, it is Skippito Friskito. She is now Miss Skippita.

"Skippyjon Jones is no ordinary kitten. Oh, no. . . .He's actually El Skippito, a great sword-fighter ready to battle banditos the world over! With a little imagination and a whole lot of fun, this frisky cat dons a mask and cape and takes on a bad bumble-beeto to save the day. And along the way, he'll be sure to steal young reader's hearts, yes indeed-o!"

Lolly, you would have to get a kitty already, when we've got 3!!

Got some random pics in the Nook!
Not very many ace sightings for getting pics yet. Gotta get some Spotties!!

Don't know if I mentioned that one kitten had it's eyes shut. I sent a photo to our neighbor/vet and he came over the other night w/meds we administer twice a day. He looked at all of them and we have 3 GIRLS!!!!! Egad! They mostly stay near Mom in a back quarter of the garage. She likes to be under a cart on wheels or a shelf, but they come out and curl up on the quilt and the fleece-covered "floor" I made for their box./ That's not being used for this bunch! Could not find the patient, but it came out of a back corner and went back there. I was able to wedge my hand between the wall and some chrome tail pipes & felt the little bugger on the floor!
Gotta go do din din~~~Thoughts and Prayers for ALL

Beautiful here. Rode the bike did yoga and swam and ate and saw TWO EAGLES as I was swimming in the lake and a third came in and there was a fuss and chased it away.

Am very pleased with my day and with my sense of gratitude... Blessed Be.

KAY so sorry to hear you were not well. I am also pleased that there was help available. Keeping you in prayer.

Hoda said...

No KAY there was no indication that Kristin would turn so negative when she was here to visit. Visits are different because they are short a week maximum and we do lots of touristy type things to show her the region. I did not at all get consulted about her spending four months here and I am not a tourist in my community. The first week here she said she wanted to buy a kayak. So we went to three places. She thought they were expensive and haggled down the price from 1300$ to 700$ on last years model. She said, "I will think about it and phone you tomorrow". Well she never phoned them and when I asked her she did not see a reason why she would have to!!! Oh I said...I do not do Drama and it is between her and them and I have nothing to do with it. The windows in the house where she is staying open outwards, she does not like that she is used to sliding windows...on and on and on it goes. I was not expecting her to come back. When she left here she was moving to the Chicago Wisconsin area. She has no address in the USA and is angry at the Canadian Immigration that they questioned her on that. They are picking on her, they do not like Americans she says. I try to point out that they did let her in, yet she dismisses that. She is very angry because they told her she is not allowed to work here...I point out that I am not allowed to work in the USA either. It takes a special permit to do so. She says how then do they expect her to have a good time here if she can not make extra money...it fatigues me. Totally fatigues me. No one hates her. No one hates Americans here yet she sets it up in such a way it is her reality.
Enough I will not say any more. I hope she clears what ever it is that is blocking her. I do not do Drama and I do not do projections...

So glad Wanda carried on the tradition and that so many of our Momster family could be there.

Can't say I've ever seen a fox visiting my backyard, Judie. Any foxes around here would have been lying low last night. I did encounter a very small bunny when I went out this afternoon. It scampered away.

Ah Lolly, the fun of having a kitten who is still learning about the world and all its fun things to investigate (to include a head inside a water glass). Oh, all the Siamese I have raised were wool suckers/chewers. It is a characteristic of the breed and no one knows why. I do know their ancestors were larger (Ocelot size) and were used to guard palaces in Siam.

Wonder what Loretta has planned for her antique car kitties? Hope they can find loving homes if she and Fubby can't keep them.

Oh Kay...this stupid stomach bug has been hitting people around here, too! Not as bad as the 48-72 hour one of winter, though. Hope you are 100% post haste!

Congrats on the 2nd place today Sandi! How unusual to have a flea issue in the bathroom. I only say that because of the flea life cycle...which I will not bore you with. I give that speech a hundred times a week at work! Anyway, I hope they won't be a problem any more!

Glad you vet neighbor was able to help with the kitten Loretta!

Glad to hear about Wanda's gathering yesterday...bet there was much laughter and a few tears as well. (((HUGS))) Wanda!

Andy, I feel for you and Emma. Shirley and Luna, too, and Audrey and Grace. My poor Daisy is beside herself between Thursday's storm and fireworks on Friday and again tonight because some people just can't get enough. Judy, welcome home! Glad to hear that you had a great trip.

Hoda, I have no doubt that you will continue to deal with Kristen in a way that prevents her negative energy from transferring to you. Still, it's a shame that your friend came to Canada for an extended visit and it has been a negative experience for her and for you.

Lynne, the flea problem seems to be a thing of the past, but I won't really know for a few more days, when the next round of eggs are due to hatch. I have my fingers crossed that I won't need to call an exterminator later this week.

Second place in the boat parade - I'm good with that. The gal who organized it even dropped off a bottle of Chardonnay as our prize! It was a fun day for the kids and for our little town (which isn't so little in the summer). My sister is already making plans for our theme for next year. Most of the boats were just done in red, white, and blue which is why I think we caught the judges' attention. The first place winner had a safari theme.

Making quiche for everyone for breakfast and then I'm sure this will be a beach day. Last full day at the beach for my sister-in-law, niece, and great nephew and for Brian, Lynnis, and little Freyja.

Prayers continue for Jo (news tomorrow, right?), Larry (happy to hear that he is feeling well enough to fish), Bev (did we ever hear what the problem was that put her in the hospital last week?), and Thelma (when does she go for a biopsy?).

Have a great day all. The weather yesterday was just about perfect and we get one more day like that before the humidity and heat come back.

Good Sunday morning - I must have thought yesterday was Sun as my pills had been taken but Sat pills were still in the case. Holidays do that to us retired persons.

Hoda - don't deal with drama - Life is too beautiful to waste

Sandi - did the skipper of your winning boat have the grass skirt on? So happy you have had such a great 4th.

Shirley - have you been bowling at all yet this summer?

Judy - we turned off the cam since you were gone lol - storm did it!

Good morning!

Jo, I got on our EM page with no problem.

Wanted to say good morning but need to go eat a bite before church.

Have kitty on the back of my chair, playing with my hair. She is a riot! I know you are all going to be tired of me talking about her! ☺

Have a great day and I will see you later.

Oh, a Jo, I think the Capt of the boat also had on coconuts!!!

Judie said...

Good morning everyone.

Jo, I certainly can relate. Went to take my pills yesterday and got all confused because I kept feeling Friday was Sat and Sat was Sun. lol

JudyE, welcome home. Enjoy your day and tomorrow before returning to the work grind.

Sandi: FLEAS BE GONE! Jufie will see that any remaining fleas are transported to the secret place where things go never to be seen again.

Does anyone know a Diana Gross? Received an email and did not recognize the name and email address looked unusual. Her name is not on any of the member lists I have. Now Jo is having trouble with her Yahoo account. I moved the email to spam. If you know this person, please share. Otherwise, I assume spam. Wonder how she/he obtained the momster email address?

Judie said...

Now to make myself less scary then to the Sunday market. Lovely day here.

Have a wonderful day everyone.

Beautiful Morning to you all.

Enjoy the Day.

Lolly - Are you on Firefox or IE for the Momsters' site?

Can you give me the url that you used

Diana Gross was already on my email address - don't think it is spam...
I need to check membership name on Momsters - unless you could do that for me........

EM group

Here you go, Jo!

I do not know that name, but Jo said she already had it.

We are getting spam in the form of email from Hoda, Paula, and I think Jo. Please excuse me if I delete a real message from you. We delete them because all they contain is message for Lolly with a link to click on.

Oh, and Jo, now using firefox.

Good Sunday Day, Eagle Pals....

I had disconnected from the
E-M inbox when I went to Germany last year..never reconnected....so I don't get the spam emails....

I do get individual ones "just to me" so that is okay, that works for me these days...

Hope it resolves quickly....for
everyone on E-M

xoxo (( ALL DAY HUGS ))

I take it the cam did not restore yet? I don't have the live feed and know the still cam was out,
but...any word on that?

So much news amongst us....I can read and try to absorb, but I am not very good at commenting back on these important things

It makes me feel quite inadequate in the Friendship Department, but I beat back those feelings, and know that sometime or another I'll get more or less back to normal

Know that I Care, and I Love you Momsters and Dadsters !!!!

magpie said...

Oh Lolly! Sounds like you are really enjoying your new little furbaby!

Someday, when I get a real house, I want a cat, AND a dog....and a real yard, windows I can open with abandon, garden, flowers, and so on like that! It's a good dream to hold on to!

magpie said...

At the Wanda-GG picnic...there were many festive outfits and colors, and in true Wanda fashion and hospitality, she brought out sweaters, jackets and blankets.....
as things surely cooled down after sunset.....they were much used !

There were two lovely couples from church and soup kitchen who attended, it was great to have these fine folks with us.

Jayden was down with a summer cold and assorted ailments, but I had some fun talk with Donnie, his granddaddy about his activities....and sent home some
James toys "for the workshop" -
good to pass these things on to someone who can make the most of them, and they'll get passed on to Jaxson in due time

magpie said...

On that note, I move along now,
day off for me, long list of things to do....

Oh, I bet that garden bench that Michael and Samantha painted for JO looks Marvy !!!

Prayers for Wellness....Kay, especially you now, and, for all others on our Momsters and Dadsters lists of requests....

That part of my day is complete, BUT, you know how easy it is to just pop a prayer out any old time during daily activities

God Bless Us,
Every One xoxox

Hi, Everyone,
Dropping in to say "Howdy" to you folks. I have to admit that I am confused about what day it is, too!

Lolly, Skippi sure is a cute name for your little bundle of energy!
I will never tire of stories of her adventures!

Sorry to hear of your yucky flu, Kay! Hope it's long gone by now!
Got you on my prayer list, just in case.

Sounds like a wonderful gathering with Wanda & GG & family!

Shirley, sorry poor Luna had a rough time with the fireworks too.
Judie, same for Audrey and Grace!
Oh, and Lynne2, sorry for poor Daisy, too! We've decided that if Benadryl doesn't help enough next year on the 3rd of July (when the noise starts around here), we'll take Emma to Petsmart Pet Hotel for the 4th. She always gets a suite there that has a TV, so that should take care of the situation.

Well, need to go get a bite of lunch, so will check in again later this afternoon. Have a good afternoon! I ♥ us!!!

Judie - Series 2 of "Inspector Morse" prequel "Endeavour" continues tonight at 9pm on MASTERPIECE! Will you be watching? - Yes Yes Yes

Still not getting on EM site even with your link Lolly. Thanks but guess I'll wait it out...... :(

Lolly said...

Well, Skippi and I just typed you a message, but it would not post. Had to reboot. Have you tried that, Jo?

Mema Jo said...

Cold boot done! Done a couple of times - Perhaps it is my cookies - lol

Sandi said...

Jo, I just tried to get onto the Yahoo site using Firefox which is my browser of choice - I got the exact same message that you have been getting. I had no problem getting onto the site using Chrome and no problem using Internet Explorer. Very strange!

Later!

Hoda said...

Oh I do not like it at all that LOLLY JACK are getting spam email from me using Momster mailing list. I never go there and I never use it.
I just read messages if they look safe to me.
I delete too LOLLY.

Great Rafting on the river. I was stroke for half the time and there were some white water out there. Great fun and how absolutely blessed I feel. I would like to go again this summer.

In an hour I am off to yoga... YAY...

Dinner over. Ribs, corn on the cob, salad. Kitchen restored to order. Rib bones deposited outside for the fox(s).

Jo, I am headed across the hall to put my feet up to watch Endeavor. Also found out that New Tricks is on MPT on Sunday afternoons. Yippee!

Hi,

In answer to someone's question, I haven't been to the bowling alley this summer. Taking a break from practice. Focusing on other things for now. Doing a little gardening. I have a lovely crop of lettuce and a few flowers. Hoping my potatoes are going to be good.

Kathryn has found a sports camp for Hunter. Not sure when, but later this summer.

Judie said...

Okay, Endeavor was very good tonight. Enjoyed.

So glad JudyE is home as we now have our security system back.

Headed for the pillows. Have a dr. appt. in the morning.

Night light is on. Restful sleep for all.

Thank you Sandi for helping me get back to the Eaglet Momster site. Your
directions worked wonders.
FYI: Diana Gross has been a Momster since 4/8/11. She brings some interesting email through our Eaglet Momster site - I really haven't seen her on this blog. BUT she is one of our own.

Mema Jo said...

Yes, Judie - I love Endeavor.
You sure need to listen up in order
to catch all the facts! Wonder of wonders I did pick out the killer but only due to elimination of all others. lol

With tomorrow being Monday, perhaps we will get our Live Feed up/running
and a new fresh thread.

Good evening to all!

First off WELCOME HOME JUDYE@ I missed ya sis. Glad you had a great time!
LOLLY; LOVE the name, Skippi!

Congrats to SANDI

HODA: you know how this works, let go of what you cannot control. Some people are just determined to be unhappy. Keep paddling your own. Good for you!

LYNNE2: thank you. We DID have a great date night. After 19+ years, he’s still more fun than a barrel of monkeys!
Been working on this most of the day. Its been busy, so now its almost bed time!

Its been a busy day. Groceries are purchased and put away again. Went and had acupuncture. The swelling in my hand is gone, at least for the time being. Took a friend with me. Funny enough she is afraid of needles! But she determined she is afraid of needles that draw blood….and she did fine, even napped a bit! She had some immediate relief from her issues!

When I got home, I grilled some steaks and veggies, made some shrimp and some twice baked potatoes up. Big dinner. Yum.
Went over and had watermelon with the neighbors this evening, then home for a leisurely swim in the moon light.

I hope everyone has SED dreams tonight ! see you in the morning!

Message from Skippi. She thinks she owns the keyboard. I get no respect. Laurel says she is spoiled, just because she is asleep on my right arm and I am hunting and pecking with my left hand, that does not mean she is spoiled!! Took a while to get that typed!

Tomorrow will be a busy day! However, Jo will be in my thoughts and in my prayers. Love you, Jo!

Heading to the shower. Night all! SED!!

Hoda said...

Yes JO praying with you and for you and for your family and by extension for us!
Whatever you hear tomorrow/ today your time, we will go through it together.
GOD GIVE YOU STRENGTH AND SUSTAIN YOU WITH HIS BLESSINGS.

Good night

Goodorming my eagle friends. Slept with the windows open last night - mistake. It stayed too warm and got muggy. Have closed most of the windows (except for the ones in the bedrooms where people are sleeping) and have turned on the air. Back to typical summer weather - not complaining! I love summer weather and could take it year round.

My sister-in-law, niece, and great nephew leave today. Jacob is a nice kid but very loud! It has been a good visit but it will be good to have the house quieter!

Also sadly, Brian and Lynnis and Freyja are leaving today. :( I will miss them (especially Freyja) but won't miss the dogs - I'm still holding my breath that the flea problem has been resolved completely. We may just be in-between hatches!

Tennis for me today at 8am and then who knows.

Big time prayers today for Jo for a positive report from the doctors.

Have a good day all.

Good Monday Morning to all ♥

73° now and it is going to get up to
90° today if the forecast is correct.

Wishing for a nest ground report or a cam to come on for us today. I don't imagine the juvies are around too much anymore. As reported, in August the cam repairs and adjustments are planned.

Don't ya hate it when your coffee pot filter collapses? All those wasted coffee grounds into your steaming 1t 0cup of java. Off to make another pot......... Take care and enjoy your day.
