Good morning,

No big plans for the weekend, Lori. I think I might practice some bowling. Like Margy, I would like to plant some bulbs.

Also really want to replace the stair rail on my front porch and would really like to put new lattice under the porch. Have been trying to get Will interested in helping with that.

And here we are over the split. :)

Good afternoon eagle buds!

It's FRIDAY --- wooooohoooooo!

The bad news is I hit a deer this morning on my way to school. That's my second one this year. I feel just rotten about it and pray she didn't suffer. I can still drive the car, but my Dad estimates it'll take about a thousand $$ to fix it. Damage isn't as bad as last time though.

LOLLY, little puppy Molly is adorable...and I'm sure she has that great, sweet puppy breath. I love that.

JO, hope you're having a great anniversary and that you and Ed are planning a special dinner out.
Thanks for sharing the latest news on JUDIE.

BOB, happiness about your hip and being able to sleep on your left side. YAY for you. Keep up the good PT work.

KAY, sorry you're tuckered out from all your traveling, but glad you'll be safe and sound at home with Julie, Seth and family for Thanksgiving.

SHIRLEY, did you get in your bowling practice today? The new lattice on your porch sounds like an ambitious project. Hope Will agrees to do it before it snows.

HODA, I'm still wondering what is HOT YOGA? Or did I miss your post? Hope you had a magnificent day doing all your volunteer activities and yoga and cooking classes. You amaze me!

Guess I should get going and try to organize my homework I have to do this weekend. Don't feel like doing it now, but I'll get it ready and sorted out so I can just jump on it tomorrow.

It's the weekend and most of us get to sleep in tomorrow! YEEEHA!

Sandi said...

Good afternoon my eagle friends! It's the Friday of a 3-day weekend!! Woohoo!

Lori, sorry to hear about the deer - both for the deer and for your car. There's the deductible to pay and the nuisance of getting it fixed!

Jo, hope you are enjoying your very special day!

We are awaiting delivery on the furniture for the new TV to sit on - supposed to arrive some time this afternoon or evening. I'm excited to see it after 5 weeks of waiting!!

Later!

Sandi said...

Oh yeah, almost forgot ... Bob, your photos are gorgeous as always! Thanks so much for sharing them! I especially love the one of the eagle in the sweet gum tree with the fall leaves! Glad to hear the new hip is working well!

Lolly said...

Oh, no, Lori! Yes, hope the deer did not suffer and so very sorry about your car. Traveling around here we do not have to fear for deer. When we were staying at Harpers Ferry and driving to Sheperdstown at night, I was skeeeered to death of a deer darting in front of us.

Worked in the yard for this week. Leaves are falling fast. Jack's back went out last night, so all he did was ride the mower. I did all the blowing and picking up. He has taken a muscle relaxer and is zonked!

Laurel's dishes I ordered arrived today. I unpacked the two boxes and all arrived just dandy! LOL I can not get it all back into one of the boxes.

I think Molly is adorable, too. They get her around Thansgiving, close to the time he goes home.

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, Everyone!
Ken and I are back home! I just this minute finished hooking up the laptop, and it's great to have it up and running again.

We had an uneventful trip home, and are looking forward to picking up Emma at 5 pm. She is getting her bath right now, and should be so clean and pretty when we see her! Don't think I've mentioned it, but it's true--there's no place like home! We had a GREAT vacation, but it's just good to be back here.
I'll try to get back here tonight after dinner. Not sure Emma will be wanting me to leave my chair. She will be Jonesin' for laptime!

Bob, glad your hip is doing so well!

Lori, so sorry about the deer, and about your car!

Well, need to do a few things to get settled back in. Will be back, hopefully, tonight. I ♥ us!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY JO AND ED.

People I know in the Philippines still seem to be alright.
They sent messages out this morning.

LORI so sorry about the accident.
It happens so fast and it touches my heart that you always wish the creature did not suffer.
Sorry it happened to you twice in one year.
Glad you and your passanger are both alright.

HOT YOGA LORI is a practice of yoga where the temperature in the room is 90 or above. Fast movement and my oh my sweating is severe I would say!!! People were wearing skimpy clothes. I do not have skimpy clothes. I was hot! In the winter I would prefer a sauna I think to warm up.
I went to support a yoga teacher who had been seriously ill for over a year and she is now back teaching. You might have heard of Bikram Yoga. It is the same as hot yoga. Not really what I look for from yoga.

Good chilly Saturday morning my eagle friends! 28 degrees here in Bethany Beach!

Playing tennis at 8am. One of the women actually emailed this week that she would like to play outdoors this morning since it's supposed to be sunny. I don't think so!!!

Well, the TV console came and the TV console went. - not well made we thought. So, now to deal with the company about getting a refund AND then find another console that's long enough (has to be 6 feet long) in the color (distressed off-white) and style (not ultra modern) that I want. Denny and I will be furniture shopping this afternoon.

Have a great day all.

Happy Satirday everyone!

HODA, you have a very busy day on tap. Hope the summit and your dinner are both very enjoyable for you. I love how you give so much of your time to great causes.

SANDI, so sorry about the console not being well made. And you waited so long for it. How disappointing. Hope you find what you're looking for today. Good luck with tennis this morning.

SHIRLEY, enjoy your day alone. Hope you find something fun and relaxing to do, maybe take a nap, too.

JO, wishing you and Ed, and the family a great celebration dinner tonight. That will be one large party! I love to play along with Jeopardy, too. :)

LOLLY, when is Laurel's birthday when you will give her the dishes? I bet she'll be so happy. Any updates on Norm?

KAY, wishing you a great day with no pain. Big first of the morning hugs!

LYNNE2, glad to see you got on here last night. Awesome that you are helping out the Cocker Spaniel rescue. You're the perfect person for the job. How is everything else going?

PAULA, hope you have a beautiful beach weekend. Is it too cold for fishing now. Bet it gets windy down there on the water.

JUDYE & MARGY, hope you both have a great day at work.

Gee, bet you can't guess what I'm doing today...lol. Yes, homework. Have two papers to write and a bunch of various assignments to complete, and one lengthy report to get started on.

There's snow in our forecast this week...they say if a certain storm keeps its path that we'll get a foot of snow! Hope it changes direction.

Prayers for those in the Philippines. Can't even imagine what 235 mph winds would be like.

Also, prayers for SANDI's Brian, LOLLY & LORETTA's Norms, & Miracle Michael.

Have a blessed and beautiful day.

HODA should be zeroing in on Balfour about now---what a long, but interesting day she has planned ! And HODA, we love you, too !

Good Saturday Morning to all ♥
Sandi - make that a fast tennis match ♥ Sorry about the console being a disappointment.. I know what you mean about 'well made' -

This Tues Patrick,Christine and the girls are to go to NY and march with the Wounded Warriors group in the Vet parade. I sure hope they don't have bad weather coming home.

Hoda you have a great day planned. Enjoy ♥

Kay - perhaps this will be an incentive for Seth to get some more best friends to hang out with. I do know how he feels - perhaps there are some clubs he could look into at college.

Yesterday evening Rascal and Popcorn (The ostriches) came home from the Vet - I just pray both of them keep doing well.

stronghunter said...

Yes, Kay, I am sure Hunter will have issues with his own kids some day.

I have been thinking about one of those sleeveless jackets for him. I have always thought they are a bit silly, but he really does not like to have a jacket over long sleeves because it feels uncomfortable for him.

He could wear one of those jackets over something with long sleeves. That should be comfortable.

I have thought that I could show him how to hold the sleeves to his shirt so that they would not ride up in the jacket, but he does not like to be showed how to do anything. At least not by an old grandmother. And I think it would not really solve the problem anyway.

We will see, though. He refuses to wear sweatshirts or any shirt that is very heavy.

We did have some good moments this past week. He enjoyed watching the birds I attracted with the feeder. He commented that the titmice look like they have Mohawks. And he was interested in the chickadees. I just try not to make too much of his interest in birds . . . that would bug him.

SHIRLEY, Several years ago Kate and I were out to dinner during the winter and commented on a teenager who was there in shorts and a tee-shirt. He got up and went somewhere then we were talking about how cold it was outside and he was wearing shorts and no jacket. Well, apparently it was his girlfriend who overheard us and she started laughing saying everyone comments on his lack of clothing in the snowy weather but that he never ever wears a jacket or gets cold. Maybe Hunter has a thermostat like that guy did. I will never forget it.

Good day! Have lost fb on my iphone. Did an update and apparently do not have room on my phone. Too many pics. At least I think that is the problem. Have spent the morning trying to download the pics to my computer but have not figured it out yet. Grrrr!

Laurel's birthday is Dec. 4, so not long at all before we give them to her.

We have a chance of freeze coming up this week. Same front, I believe. Time to get plants into house and greenhouse. Fall has gone by too fast, not ready for winter!

Lolly said...

Norm's latest update:

Yesterday's Jesus Calling began with this line: "Learn to appreciate difficult days. Be stimulated by the challenges you encounter along your way." Isaiah 41:10 says, "So do not fear, for I am with you. do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

This morning these thoughts and the scripture seem easier said than done for me - and I'm guessing that being in the fourth week of this process has something to do with that. Ron is flying in this morning and will be staying at the hospital with Norm until next Wednesday night. Mitch, Neidra and Kenzlie drove up from Portland last night and will be here until Sunday. Our faithful neighbors had chile and all the trimmings in the frig when we returned from the hospital last night - and I slept in their spare bedroom last night. What a gift their friendship continues to be to us.

PAO's long-term prayer warrior, Ruth Hendrix, visited Norm yesterday - she is one of his favorites and their time together was very special for him. Jim Zorn brought a get-well card from the '83 Seahawks who were in town for last week's game and we posted it on the wall where he can see it. Jim sat in on physical therapy session with Norm and Sue (she is tough!) and cheered Norm on as he made his way up and down the back-of-the-house hospital stairs. We all held our breath (it was a tough climb!) as we celebrated how hard he is working and how far he has come. His therapy sessions take up most of every day so he needs to rest between - it would be good to call me before you come by so you don't miss seeing him!! Thank you for continuing to walk alongside our family.

Sandi said...

Great tennis this morning - won the first set and lost the second in a tie-breaker.

Kay, enjoy your Seth time!

Jo, enjoy your family dinner time!

Shirley, enjoy your alone time!

Andy, enjoy your Emma time!

Hoda, enjoy your "busy all day" time!

After lunch, Denny and I went shopping - it seems that stores don't have 72" long TV stands in stock b/c most people don't have a TV that requires a piece of furniture that big. After making 3 stops at different stores, we found something we really loved but had to special order it in the size we need, and now we'll wait another 6 weeks for it to be delivered.

I guess it's time to think about what to fix for dinner. Later!

stronghunter said...

Dang it!

I went out to go practice bowling. When I got in my car, I noticed papers piled on the passenger seat...and the console compartment was open. So was the little drawer where I keep change. Someone had been in my car.

Checked the trunk and back seat. All of my bowling equipment is gone.

I have called the sheriff's department and filed a report. Also called the insurance company. I suppose it was maybe $300-$350 worth of stuff. I am very sad.

Just e-mailed pictures to the deputy. I knew I had a picture of the ball, but I just remembered that I also have a picture of the bag and the shoes as well.

The deputy said that others in the neighborhood have reported things taken from their cars and patrols have been requested. He said that it was likely kids looking for GPS equipment, iPods, cash, etc.

Next door neighbors have noticed that someone has been messing with their lawn tractor which is covered and sitting in the driveway.

Do I lock my car? Yes, but sometimes I must hit the button on the fob at some point because the car has been unlocked some mornings.

stronghunter said...

Deputy said that they get reports from pawn shops of the stuff brought there, so maybe the picture will help.

Guess I am in the market for new bowling stuff. Just hope I get some money from the insurance company. I know I have zero deductible for comprehensive. I think that probably includes theft.

Lori O. said...

Oh, SHIRLEY, big bummer about your car being broken in to. I'm so sorry. It's such a feel of personal violation when stuff like that happens.

LOLLY, thanks for the Norm update. I just love Bobbe's writing and expressions of faith.

KAY, I know that you will truly enjoy your special Seth time tonight and tomorrow morning.

JO, wishing you and ED and the family a very happy celebration dinner tonight at the steakhouse. Is it Longhorn's? Happy Anniversary!

JUDYE, how was your day?

SANDI, glad you found another console you really like - sorry that you have to wait 6 weeks for it.

Lori O. said...

ANDY, I can't wait either until you post about your reunion with Emma.

HODA, know you're MIA today, just hoping you had a wonderful day at the summit.

Shirley, I am so sorry to hear that your vehicle was burglarized! I hate to be the bearer of bad news but Kevin once had his car broken into while he was in college. His entire CD collection and a mixing board (for music) were stolen. When we called State Farm, we were informed that the auto insurance would only cover repairing the door lock that was broken to get into the car.

Stolen contents from INSIDE the car have to be filed with your homeowners insurance and are subject to your deductible. Our homeowners deductible was $1000 and the value of the stuff was about $500 so Kevin got NOTHING for the loss!

Have I said before how much of a scam I think insurance is??? Flood insurance that doesn't cover when your house gets flooded, car rental that ONLY covers renting a car when you have an accident but NOT when you break down, auto insurance that doesn't cover the stuff in your car if/when it gets broken into, comprehensive insurance that isn't comprehensive - don't get me started.

Maybe you'll have better luck with your insurance company than we did but ... Good luck!

I got the camera up but can't see the branch at all now the wind needs to blow to the left to make it back in to view

stronghunter said...

We will see, Sandi. Kathryn deals with car insurance companies all of the time, and she is the one who told me to call them, and we did have a CB radio stolen from our car once, and I believe we did get money from the car insurance company.

My homeowner's deductible is $500. I know that because I had to pay that amount when we had the fire. No way is my bowling equipment worth more than that.

I have left a message with my State Farm guy. I don't expect to hear from them before Monday.

JudyEddy said...

now need to read todays comments BBIALW I am so tired from being up late last night

stronghunter said...

CB radio...I hated that thing. Felt violated that someone broke into the car, but my husband kept the dang thing on whenever we traveled and he thought we should all be quiet so he could listen to the important reports coming over the CB.

Oh well, he was a silly man. Was and probably still is.

I am just lucky that they do change my schedule for me I told them that I have to be in Seminole to watch Jordyn they don't know its just one day on Tues Shhh don't tell

JudyEddy said...

CB radio I use to have one of them and didn't like it but was helpful when I traveled alone I had talked with several truck drivers as I traveled that was in a way fun

stronghunter said...

I think you are right, Sandi.

Did some research and it looks like I might just be out of luck on getting anything for the stolen stuff. It says things that are permanently attached might be covered--the CB radio was not permanently attached, exactly, however.

Now I am sadder.

stronghunter said...

Yeah, Judy. It would be okay when you are traveling alone. But we had the whole family in the car. We were not supposed to speak because he was listening to the truckers.

Lolly said...

Thanksgiving dinner at church tomorrow. Made Joseph's favorite pumpkin dessert. Also going to make Sweet Potato soufflé.

Shirley...so sorry about the break in to your car. We leave our car in an open garage during the day with the keys in it. Garage door is shut at night. Also, leave the house locked but with windows wide open and sleep at night with windows wide open. No security system. Nice to live in the country (sorta). We live away from the city but in a neighborhood with houses on 1, 2 or 4 acres. Also, our house is way back from the road.

stronghunter said...

Judy, I get occasional requests from Red to play a game on Facebook, so he is out there somewhere.

stronghunter said...

I'm afraid this kind of incident can happen anywhere, Lolly. I just wish my car had been locked. I will be checking carefully from now on.

About time for me to wind things down and go to bed. I think I might go shopping for bowling shoes tomorrow. I had a very nice, comfortable pair. I hope I can find another one.

I am about to put my nose in my kindle for the rest of the evening. Did not accomplish a lot today but happy I did conquer fb and computer challenges.

Oh, and happy that I got gas today at $2.83! Makes me want to jump in my vehicle and travel! LOL Thanksgiving and Christmas coming....can't do that!

Night all! SED!!

Shirley, so sorry about your break in. It is a shame that we can no longer park in our own driveway and feel secure that our property is safe. And Sandi is right, insurance can be a rip off too. Hang in there!

Lolly...that is some cheaap gas! About 3.20here.

Bro got most of theinsulation out..and yes therre are snakes under there! They are moving very slow...black snakes. Called.the snake guy..no call back. Guess he doesn't do weekends. We'll see how much. Phil can get done tomorrow working around them.

Boys went out fishing in the boat...no luck. Probably last time out in it.

I raked and burned leaves...had a campfire and grilled chicken and taters. Everyone is beat..me too.

Long story short...John is in the hospital tonight and another day or two. Someone put methyl alcohol in a gatorade bottle instead of an approved container at work. They use it for cleaning glass and metal before they install windows. John drank it by mistake...not a large quantity...and he threw it up. But he called poison control and after hearing potential side effects he went to the ER. He was admitted...they have hin on an iv to flush out the toxins. He is feeling ok...but has to wait for special bloodwork teesting to come back in the morning...so he will know more then. He is in good hands in Frederick hospital. Of course Cohens party is tomorrow...ajay making cakes for cohen and 2 cousins BD...what a night for her.

Will update more tomorrow.

Sed love and hugs for all.

Good morning eagle friends! Happy Sunday morning.

PAULA, sorry to hear about John and hope he makes it home today for the party, feeling 100%!

LOLLY, have a good time at the church Thanksgiving dinner. Wish I was there to taste your famous pumpkin dessert. :)

SANDI, hope it's not as windy there as it is here, but I guess you play inside, so it'll be okay. Have fun!

KAY, how was your special time with Seth? Did he mention his friend with the new girlfriend at all?

I slept in until 7:30 this morning. Hate waking up that late. Feels like the day is half over. It's already 8:30.

Think I'll start working on my big project paper. It's supposed to be 7 hours worth of work that we do at home on a day we don't have to go to the school, but I think it will easily take up to 12 hours. Not very excited about it but will be glad when it's done.

Hope everyone has a great day full of love, light, warmth and joy.

stronghunter said...

Good morning,

Have been up several times this morning--George is still on DST.

Hoping that all goes well with your project, Lori.

Wow, Paula, I hope John recovers completely and fully. I expect there will be no more poisonous substances put into Gatorade bottles at that company.

A pretty autumn day here in Virginia, too, Margy. I am eager to see Belle and Shep as well.

We found out last night that the thieves took Hunter's DS, too. I had forgotten it was in my car. it was old and beat-up, but Hunter enjoyed it.

We are wondering if my stuff might be at the bottom of the neighborhood pond. I don't think they expected a bowling ball to be in that bag.

paula eagleholic said...

Good news this morning ...all tests negative for John ..he is waiting to be released from the hospital .

paula eagleholic said...

Shirley sorry about about the ds...

The company was taking steps yesterday to make sure no toxic chemicals were put into gatorade bottles ...they do have special containers for it but apparently didn't have enough ..

Margy you are up early ...are you working today.

Windy here today but nice and sunny .

Good Morning to all ♥

Apology for not coming back to say Good Night last evening ♥

Paula, praying that John is now headed home and that Cohen has a fine time at his birthday.

Shirley - really saddens me on the thiefs that occur right in your own driveway. For sure they would have gotten that bag even by breaking a window - which would have been worst. I loved your childrens' replies on FB as how to help you out! To me it is like an invasion of your privacy to have those items stolen as they mean so much to you

Mema Jo said...

I don't know about this crazy weather - there is actually a balmy breeze out there. Good think - we
are going to clear or winterize the deck today. I can remember one or two Thanksgivings that we even sat on the deck with very warm weather. Now I am listening to snow being forecast.

stronghunter said...

Thanks, Jo. Yes, I am sad about losing my stuff. The only thing to do at this point is to replace it and go on. I need to go with Kathryn to take care of some family business on Tuesday, so I will skip bowling. That gives me a bit of time to get replacements.

Also sad that Hunter's DS was taken. He will be upset. It was old, beat-up and covered with stickers, but it was his and he enjoyed playing with it.

stronghunter said...

Will check out the ostrich cam.

Good Morning or almost Afternoon Eagle Buds !

SHIRLEY, such theft is also a personal invasion---way back I've had a theft of goods from an auto and later a home break in. I know how you're feeling !

PAULA, so happy to know John is okay in spite of that unconscionable act of some thoughtless person. Hope the birthday party is a blast !

JO, you left us at lunchtime yesterday and returned this morning with no word on the family dinner. Do tell !

Had a great time with Seth---he didn't bring up the romance that has eaten into his time with the friend and I didn't ask. He'll talk about it when he's ready. Perhaps they'll get over the throes of "deep love" and begin to include others in their activities.

Kay said...

Oh, JO, it's a marvel to see Rascal dashing (no pun intended) around the pen ! It's a shame nothing can be done surgically and I wonder how he'll manage once he's full grown. However, right now it doesn't seem to be of much concern to him !!

Kay said...

I love it when they run right up to the camera as if to say, "I see you in there !"

Kay said...

PAULA, those snakes may be harmless and great mousers, but I'd be eager to have them outta there !

KAY, love your fall avatar. Glad you had a great time with Seth - you always do.

It's a full house here again today with grandkids and greatgrands and their parents stopping by to see Mom and Dad. It's a happy house, but not exactly conducive to doing homework. Can't find a quiet spot anywhere.

JO, please do reveal about the dinner last night.

PAULA, I imagine the hospital was updating it's OSHA hazardous materials books as well.

NCSUZAN, how's your weather doing down there?

JANET, hope you had a chance to nap and get caught up on some sleep.

JUDYE, you'll be home from work soon. Just hoping it was a great day for you - maybe working in the back again. :)

Lolly said...

OMG Paula! So very glad John is okay. What a horrible, scary thing to happen!!!

Felling the need for a nap. A big meal at noon is not my regular routine. LOL The dinner was delish but the clean up afterwards was fun. Everyone pitches in, men women and kids and it is fun!

64 here and sunny but have no desire to go outside. Funny, huh? Think I will just close my eyes for a while!

Swordfish, salmon, crab cake, spicy shrimp, portabella chicken, NY Strip, Filet Mignon, baked potato and sweet potato, broccoli & then peanut butter pie, coconut cake, cheesecake and coffee. WoW Yes, we were at Dutch's Daughter restaurant... Wonderful service and wonderful time was had by all. Our siblings enjoy being together and hubby and I also enjoy the time with them.
Hubby said are we going to do this next year? I said, "well, we could wait until the 60th but I'm not so sure we should push our luck - next year it's a date.......

Good Veteran's Day Monday morning!

JO, so glad you had a wonderful dinner Saturday night & I know Dutch's Daughter is one of your favorite restaurants!

SHIRLEY, sorry you will miss bowling this week - but I bet shopping for the new stuff is fun.

It's a regular day for me, a test on Death and the Dying Patient, then lecture on Diagnostic Tests and Specimens, then a nurses math workshop. No so sure they'll get the math workshop in, but it's on the calendar for today.

Hope everyone has a great day with your flags out in a special salute to our Veterans.

Good Veteran's Day Lori and all my eagle friends! I woke up at 6am - since I was asleep by 10 last night, my body didn't care that it was a day off for me. It had had enough rest.

Paula, great news about John ... not so great about the snakes under the house - yikes! I guess better UNDER the house than IN the house!

Lori, sounds like a super fun day at wannabe nurse school. Good luck!

Judy, 3 years from now I hope I'll be enjoying your temps in November rather than the temps in Bethany, although yesterday was pretty nice - sunny and in the 60s.

Not much on my agenda today. Headed to the outlets to shop for shoes for school. I wish I could get more excited about shopping, like Janet does. It's more like torture to me than retail therapy as she calls it. Also need to call and see if I can get a haircut today. And I need to contact the company that delivered the TV stand last Friday about getting the money credited to my Visa card.

Have a great day everyone!

GOOD MORNING LORI and SANDI
Happy Veterans Day to all
We get to wear red today at work to support our Veterans

SANDI you are moving to Fl in 3 yr What area??

Sandi said...

Judy, I wouldn't move to FL permanently - I LOVE Bethany Beach most of the year. But I hate the winters here - too cold, damp, and windy. Once I'm retired, we plan to get outta town for the winter. A number of my tennis friends have places in/near Fort Myers Beach so we're currently thinking west coast but we're really not sure. We're just planning to rent something for a couple of months each year, not buy a place, so we may spend a couple of years just trying out different areas.

Kay said...

Good Morning and Happy Veterans Day Eagle Buds. A happy day in the sense of remembering all who have served their country so valiantly !

JO, thanks for the dinner recap--wow, what a wonderful feast and a grand time for all 9 of you ! I agree, do it every year ! As a non-FBer I'll look forward to those pics via e-mail ! Take your time.

JUDY, red on Veteran's Day--happy to hear it. I bet it will be a big shopping day for some.

SANDI, I agree with you re:shopping. It's one of my least favorite things to do !

Another least favorite is fasting, as I've done since midnight and going to see the doctor ! That will be my outing for the day, other than the walks with Penny. Oh, and the doc visit is a routine check up--not sure I need em' every three months, but I go along with it.

LORI, sounds like an exciting day---Death and Dyeing Patient test, a lecture and a workshop ! Math would be my downfall, but hope you master all that is needed for nursing !

Love and prayers for all !

No special plans today - still have some outside work to do to winterize.

Kay keep those 3 mos - you will be able to prevent somethings happening.

Sandi - I don't like to shop... but I do miss the Christmas atmosphere.

Hi, Everyone,

Happy Veterans Day!

Sorry I have been MIA over the weekend. Fell asleep after dinner on Friday, and have been SO busy with laundry, etc. ever since!

Emma went absolutely nuts when we went to pick her up! She was one happy pup!! She has been stuck to both of us ever since. She's been sleeping a lot, trying to get caught up. She hears every tiny noise when sleeping at home, so can't imagine what it's like for her at puppy camp. She looks so pretty! She's all fluffy and soft from her bath. It's just SO good to have her back home!

Shirley, so sorry to hear that someone broke into your car and stole your bowling equipment! That's awful! Hope they are able to recover at least some of it!

Paula, I'm so grateful that John will be okay! That was too close for comfort! Glad he got help so quickly.

Well, I need to do a few more things around here before Ken gets home from work. (Gee whiz! He got more that 200 e-mails while we were gone!) I'll try to get back here tonight. Have a good evening, everyone. I ♥ us!!!

Hi y'all, here I am again. Can't face the nightly news, have listened to the horrible reports coming out of the Philipines on radio all afternoon. So sad and I can't take more of it today.

JO, thank you ever so much for the wonderful pictures of the Lennox clan. You are justifiably proud of that beautiful family !

SANDI, don't you, as a non-shopper, just love it when you have such a successful day ! So good to hear Brian will be home on the 17 of Dec.--a favorite date for me. Stan and I were married on 12/17/85.

Big gap here as Eileen called from MI to fill me in on her weekend.

No biggie at the docs office today. I'm concerned about gaining much of my pre-surgery weight back and she recommended MyExercisePal.com so I'll check it out. I'm going back to walking with Leslie Sansone, for like LOLLY and JACK I know that works well for me. Walks with Penny are not enough apparently. I don't feel it's due to diet as I don't have anything in the house that isn't diabetic friendly and I don't feel that I overeat. So exercise it is !

After the appt. Julie and I went to a Middle Eastern fare place for soup n' salad and then on to a new specialty market in town. Love it when she has a holiday !

Penny now thinks it's high time to go out side, so see you tomorrow !

Guess I can't read!!! Thought it was 399- Feather time!!
Hello Gang. Lounged around my shorty weekend except for downloading text and pics from a friend, Susan's, trip to Africa. She sent us about a dozen chapters! Started in Swaziland where she made a few speeches---she's near the top of a Women's Rights' group and got to sit in Nelson Mandela's Assembly chair/desk! How exciting!
Wow, I got into housecleaning today. Why do upright vacuums weigh 50 lbs? Might be an Aleve night.
I've got a lot of posts to read, but see that Shirley had bowling gear theft from her car! BOO!
Happy Paula's John is OK!
Happy Veteran's Day to ALL and Late Happy Wishes for Anniversaries and B'Days.
Watched some of the TV coverage around noon & was looking for my Uncle Frank, but couldn't see if he was there. Gotta call him--he's a Pearl Harbor survivor.
Only wild nature news is that I saw an adult eagle fly over the front field at Chelsea on Friday, but was on phone! Maybe I'll see one at Park tomorrow.
We have some little wildlife in the neighborhood. Unfortunately, it's a feral kitty family. Finally saw the kittens out playing from under someone's shed. Can't set any traps as they're never in one place and most people probably don't know they're around. They need good homes before winter and Blackie, the Mom, needs to get fixed. (they can get some leftovers here if they get brave enough) More worries---have to put St. Francis statue back outside!
TX daughter has returned from Europe trip, but hasn't answered phone yet. We'll probably talk forever tonight.
Later, have a great evening ☺

Loretta: good question on the heavy vacs....
I hope you will feel all better and not sore, and that you enjoy that
"reunion by phone" call with Sherry when it occurs...

Kay: sounds like a lovely Mom and Daughter outing for you today....
Best wishes with the exercises...my clothes seem to be shrinking again also !!

I am following your reports on insurance coverage...and I am still very very sorry about this outrageous crime....and compounded by the loss of Hunter's old pal, the DS....
I hope there will be good outcomes somewhere along the line....
things can be replaced...BUT, the
feelings of being rooked cannot
go away easily....

I did get my garden un-gardened Sunday morning, and I DID plant some daffodils and tulips. The little bulb thingy that is used to
dig a hole, completely crumbled after the third "hole." It was a cheapy I guess

Good Evening!
I actually made it back here! Ken's watching TV through his eyelids, but I was determined not to fall asleep after dinner.

I just have to share with you Emma's "Pawgress Report" from the puppy camp. They wrote "♥ Love her!" on the front where her name is. Inside they say: "I LOVE Miss Emma! She's so sweet & gentle! We spent her playroom time by kissing each other, and her getting lots of back rubs from her "Auntie Georgia." ♥ She NEVER gets tired of being cuddled & talked to!" Overall, she had a pleasant stay, but missed you.

I guess she's a regular canine ambassador. We're certainly glad to have her home and be back in the usual routine. She does give lots of puppy kisses!

Loretta, sorry your vacuuming has made you sore. Been there, done that, for sure. Hope it improves rapidly! Hope, too, that you're able to catch the wild kitties.

Can't remember whether I mentioned it or not, but Norm's new puppy is adorable! Should do him a world of good!

I noticed quite a few White-Crowned Sparrows in the yard today. They must've showed up while we were on vacation.

Well, need to go clean up the kitchen. Will be back tomorrow.

The porch light is on, and both security systems are enabled.
Goodnight and God bless! Have SED, everyone. I love all of you!
I ♥ us!!!

Got my weekly report on crimes within five miles of my house, and there it is. It's at my house.

Will not bowl tomorrow. I do need to go help Kathryn take care of some family business anyway. I should have time to get more bowling stuff before next Tuesday.

Looks like we might get a bit of snow tomorrow, though the ground is not cold enough for much sticking in these parts. Maybe you West Virginia. Maryland, and Pennsylvania folks will get more.

Good night all. God bless.

Good night! Computer is messed up again! grr! Not going to download any more games or anything!!!

Jack is trying to fix it .

Enjoyed the evening outside. Beautiful weather and it was so quiet, no breeze, no sounds but an occasional car going by. Weird, the birds were quiet too.

Night all! SED!

Good morning my friends.
I have just been swamped as you have likely guessed. I have a few min to catch up.
I did work 6 days last week and was just wiped out Saturday afternoon when I finished.
When I got home, tom and Michael were a buzz … they wanted to go to the titan’s game on Sunday. Personally, I was so tired, I could have cared less! But gotta keep the family happy, so that was the plan.
Sunday morning, cooked a big breakfast and off we went. The weather was gorgeous, sunny and bright but cool. And we were in the only shaded portion of the stadium. This made the day rather chilly. Even though Olivia dressed warmly, she was freezing by the time we left mid afternoon. Although she did refuse hot cocoa, so I have to wonder…
Monday, I could think of a thousand reasons that I should stay in bed, but went to work anyway. By ten a.m. I was recovering.
Yesterday it was 71 and sunny. When I got home, I did some outside prep work for the winter weather/temps that have now moved in. I covered outside spigots, pooper scooped, picked up trash, just put stuff away. And sure as they predicted, it is rainy, some folks have snow moving in and is 40 degree with a wind chill in the 20’s this morning. Quite a change I tell you!
I am off today. We have a meeting @ sylvan learning center today. I am thinking we need to do this, at least for math. I stink at math. Even with tutorials…..math is not my friend. I can teach her science, English, etc all day long, but math….well I have a mental block on that. Traumatized from school I suppose. Anyway…. So I am hoping I can afford this help. They do have tuition assistance, so we will go to talk to them. But we have to do something. I have a call back into the counselor/special ed person to see what she has found out… if anything, but I think at this point they are not wanting to pursue all options possible. I will have to keep pushing. I just called her yesterday, so will give her to tomorrow, then I call again, or maybe show up.
Sorry to babble on, but this is so flippin’ frustrating!!!! Their moto is whatever it takes….and granted they have her in tutoring…but they can’t seem or don’t want to seem to look at the long term pix, as in when she leaves this school and has nothing to fall back on….
Well, I need to get moving, pack lunch and get dressed myself. I will try to catcu up later this afternoon. I need to spend some quality time with tom this morning, all he has seen of me is me horizontal, snoring lately.
Light, love, hugs, smiles to one and to all!

Good Morning to all ♥
No snowflakes yet - but it is cold and windy.

Too early for homes to display Christmas lights. After Thanksgiving is when I love to see them appear.
We need one warm day in order to place the lights outside.

Good morning! Got my computer back. Really weird, scan showed nothing amiss, but when I uninstalled some stuff that came with the game, I get my IE back.

North wind doth blow! Yesterday was so still, this morning the windchimes are singing. 48 when I got up and still 48. That will be the high toay and then drop tonight.

Annie is so deaf. She used to not go out when the windchimes are singing. Now even the vacuum cleaner does not bother her.

Dentist appointment today. I get my new crown. Hear that, Lynne? I get a sparkly new crown!! :)

Good morning dear friends. I have a prayer request. Kelsey's mom, Alice, is being hospitalized. She has been running a fever for a few weeks and they finally did blood work and it is all askew. They gave them possible diagnoses of mono or non-Hodgkins lymphoma. I am praying it is the former. I will let you know as I know.

Good morning,

Seeing some snowflakes here. Just a few. Birdies are coming to the feeder. Seeing lots of titmice and chickadees and one woodpecker.
