It might be about $$$$$$
Shirley

what do you think......

stronghunter said...

So who is at the nest now, Margy?

magpie said...

OH boy
the American Kestrel cam is up and running and Mom is roosting in the sandy box...hope to see
soon whether there are eggs in there

Lolly said...

Oh, Shirley, interesting neighborhood. lol

When we lived in Ft. Worth we had this neighbor who was very adamant that dancing was a sin. Well, to her dancing with you husband was okay. She all the time wore very tight britches. Well, after we left another neighbor found her husband in bed with the no dancing neighbor. Literally walked in on the act. Guess that was okay as long as she didn't dance. lol

magpie said...

should be Shep.....

Lolly said...

I am off....bbl!

magpie said...

No eggs at Kestrel

stronghunter said...

Might be, Margy. I have the mammo appointment day after tomorrow. Not likely to get an oncologist appointment before then. In that case, I will resort to calling the primary care doc. I have thought it was odd that I am supposed to make the appointment, then get the order. But that is what they do.

stronghunter said...

WELL, there is dancing and then there is DANCING, Lolly. They were dancing between the sheets, I would say.

stronghunter said...

Then again, she said it was a sin. She did not say she was not a sinner.

stronghunter said...

Speaking of dancing, I watched DWTS on Monday. I was intrigued with the woman with the dog. Was glad that she did not dance while holding that dog. Poor dog does not seem to be allowed to walk on the floor.

Was she the one who made the comment about private parts touching??? Heard someone at bowling commenting about that remark.

Okay, the obviously dead fish just jumped. I think because Shep pressed against that stick it is lying on.

magpie said...

LOL
Shirley I didn't see it happen but I sure noticed it had changed its lying position

stronghunter said...

Okay, more fish leaps. This is getting strange.

stronghunter said...

I do not think that fish has a head.

stronghunter said...

We have a fish zombie.

stronghunter said...

That fish is leaping all around.

Costume Lady said...

That is a HUGE fish in the nest! Should last a few days with this cool weather.
I have no sound on the nest, does anyone else have that problem?

Yes, Shirley, the woman with the dog kept referring to touching and private parts and seemed obsessed with NOT wanting to be intimate in any way with anyone except her husband! Don't know her, but she may be one of the Real Housewives?

magpie said...

Well that is simply amazing!
Shirley you called it all right!~
we are howling here at the office

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

That whale is still flopping! How in the world?

magpie said...

no sound
its intentional
some live training exercises
coming up Wanda.....
for about a week...
started yesterday
the absence of nest sounds

magpie said...

It's a Chicken Fish!

stronghunter said...

I think Shep is taking care of the zombie fish. Wow.

stronghunter said...

Another tail flop from the fish.

stronghunter said...

Chicken-fish. Love it, Margy. I do remember seeing headless chickens run about.

Costume Lady said...

Oh, thanks, Margy...I have been pushing and clicking every button on this computer. Now, THAT'S NOT FAIR, we are missing those sweet little peepings:(

stronghunter said...

Was reading about DWTS until I saw the fish flop, Wanda. Kind of distracted at the moment. That is some kind of fish.

stronghunter said...

I would say that they are having fresh fish for lunch.

stronghunter said...

Yeah, Wanda. I agree about the lack of being able to hear the babies.

Unknown said...

LOL! First chance I have had to peek in on cam from work today! That is one HUGE fish in the nest and looks like Shep is enjoying it. Kids want some too ♥

Costume Lady said...

Margy is exactly right, SPECIES: CHICKEN-FISHEN:)

stronghunter said...

Hungry for lunch here. Don't think I will be eating fish, though. Would be afraid it might leap off the plate.

Unknown said...

I would LOVED to have seen that CHICKEn-FISHEN being taloned home!

stronghunter said...

Lisa Vanderpump, Wanda. "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star. I have not been watching those programs. Never heard of her until they started promoing this show.

stronghunter said...

I thought that partially-eaten fish was gonna leap right out of the nest, Lydia.

stronghunter said...

Must find food. Was thinking of running over to the bowling alley, but really have lots to do here.

magpie said...

Hello more Eagle Pals..
Actually, the fish was not all that visible until Shep landed on the nest and laid it down, as it eas sort of concealed by his manly body...
then it was a wee while before we could see its head....
but could tell it was a Wowser of a Fish....
AND, Shep was doing that heavy breathing LOL ☺ that an animal sometimes does after strenuous
activity

magpie said...

back to concentrating
on making dough...

"Nice to see You Pals "

Lolly said...

Have been walking and watching. The fish did not move until Shep was on top of it. I think his weight on it made it flop. Either that or it is a zombie fish.

Yes, I thought it strange about the comment of touching private parts. She should have known about the intimacy of doing the kind of dancing on DWTS. I think this season is going to be very good as there are some real challenges.

stronghunter said...

I am sure I saw that fish flopping before Shep was on it.

First time at 11:27. Shep was sitting on the egg cup. I thought he had pressed against the stick.

But he was on the egg cup when the fish flopped several times again later.

stronghunter said...

Got some lunch.

Worried about George. He will not eat today. Last night, he chewed like his mouth was sore. Just had him to the vet. Will wait a bit. I have seen him chew this way before.

stronghunter said...

When I took ballroom dancing class in about 1957 or so, the teacher said that he did not want to see daylight between us, that he wanted to be able to put a sheet of paper between us and expect it to stay there. That stuck in my mind.

mariadangeloart said...

I used to teach ballroom dancing. What your teacher said is correct!

glo said...

here comes ALL the fish :-)

mariadangeloart said...

And when you are ballroom dancing you are offset to one another, so your "private parts" don't really touch if you are in the correct position.

mariadangeloart said...

MAGPIE, can you please share a link to that American Kestrel web cam?

Mema Jo said...

2 huge fishes now in the nest

Lolly said...

Oh, now that fish is really flopping! Sushi for lunch!!!

Lolly said...

Hey, Steve! (Lynne's) Have a talk with Belle. She knows where the fish are biting.

Lolly said...

Oh, this is the way I like to see the pantry stocked. Off to get beautiful and then git some work done.

lol Belle is having to control that fish. It is ready to leap out of the nest. It was traveling!

Lolly said...

get, not git! lol

paula eagleholic said...

I see someone has brought in a whale of a fish...wushi!! Flopping wushi, at that :)

glo said...

OK so lets see the eaglets eat NOW!!!

paula eagleholic said...

So, it sounds like both Belle and Shep have been fishing.

paula eagleholic said...

Both parents just in the nest....I see 2 fish now.

Donka Maria said...

Oh My, look at all those fish and Shep is doing all he can to keep the "flopper" from flopping, LOL!

paula eagleholic said...

Ah, make that 3 :)

Parent at the 12 spot with a fish, and 2 near the egg cup

paula eagleholic said...

Hi Donka Maria, how are you? Long time no see.

Donka Maria said...

Hello friends!! Been away for awhile, but have been enjoying Belle and Shep for about 2 weeks now. It's good to see everyone here.Hedgie and Shamrock are beautiful, of course!

paula eagleholic said...

Eatin' time for Hedgie and Shamrock

Donka Maria said...

Hi Paula Eagleholic!!!

paula eagleholic said...

Looks to me like Belle in the nest.

Lolly said...

Ahhhh....we are all happy campers now. Food and plenty of food in the bellies of the little ones, and mom and dad, too.

paula eagleholic said...

Nap time for the kiddos.

Lolly said...

Also, like the sun and shadows on the nest.

Donka Maria said...

Fluff, tuck and wiggle, tee-hee!

paula eagleholic said...

It's so fun to watch, isn't it :)

Donka Maria said...

I love watching, it makes my heart beat a little stronger.

Donka Maria said...

I cannot believe that fish with it's underbelly gone is still jumping around, strange!!!

DanaMo said...

And you all were worried. Look at those big juicy fish! ;)

stronghunter said...

Well, while I was away, some more fishing took place.

So the partially eaten one has still been flopping. Goodness.

DanaMo said...

Ah...home from school! Can't wait to take a nap!

DanaMo said...

Who is supposed to be watching those babies! LOL

glo said...

I think there are 4 fish now if you count the one up at the top.

Sandi said...

Holy cannoli!! Wouldya look at the fish in that nest???!!! Now THAT's what a well-stocked eagle nest should look like!!

Good afternoon my eagle friends! Three days down - another very typical middle school day; no drama, no stress!! I could get used to this!!

Need to catch up on today's comments. BRB!

Lynne2 said...

Good grief. Someone has moved our camera from the nest to a Fresh Fish Market.

WV sUSAn said...

THAT is what we want to see, Sandi!!! Makes my heart very happy to see fish strewn all about!

A friend of mine wrote a poem today just for spring and I wanted to share. I thought it was awesome!!!

THE PROMISE OF SPRING
By Nick the Greek

Is Spring of our imagining?
Is she but a distant dream?
I seek, but cannot see her face,
In wood, nor, glen, nor stream.
Does the sun forsake us?
Does she frown, instead of smile?
Does she linger at her slumber,
Or is she in denial?
Her presence is but fleeting,
Her progress, as yet slow,
For where there would be fields of green,
Lie mattresses of snow.
Yet I sense her, just beyond the curtain,
Awaiting in the wings,
For at once, her presence is betrayed,
When the early blackbird sings.
And so Spring’s promise still remains,
In words as yet unspoken,
Unshackled from our Winter chains,
Her promise never broken.

stronghunter said...

Love this poem, Susan.

Lolly said...

69 and sunny....Spring is here at my abode...come see!! Taking a break from working in the yard. Going to go back out in a minute. So, we have floppy fish, one without a head and the other with it belly eaten. Zombie fish for sure.

Babes alone!

Sandi said...

Susan, lovely poem. Sure does seem like spring is still "sleeping!" We have snow in the forecast again tonight into tomorrow morning! Also LOVED the poem that Kay sent thru email yesterday - beautiful!

I see we have no update from Sharon about her doctor appt. yesterday and have heard nothing from Lynne about Steve's appt. today.

No FB update today on Jake Hudson's dad - I hope that means they are all on their way home from Hopkins!

Lolly, congrats on the weight loss - what encouraging progress for you!!

Belle has taken a break and Shep is standing on the edge of the nest at 11. Now getting ready to sit on the kids!

Lolly said...

While moms away those two are fighting. LOL Back and forth pecking at each other. So funny!

stronghunter said...

Lots of sibling rivalry going on there. I saw both of them get their pecks in. Funny, they can hardly sit up. Really, it is hard to tell if they are pecking one another or just falling on one another.

stronghunter said...

Congrats on the weight loss, Lolly!

WVJerry said...

Good late afternoon. Lots of fish now. Hedgie and Shamrock should be good to go now. Someone at work told me chance of snow coming tomorrow. It seems to me lately we have two seasons...hot and cold...not much in-between. Sitting here waiting for my wife to come home with news about her Mom. Having her surgery for skin cancer this afternoon. Thanks for everyone's thoughts and prayers for her and us. I'm hoping since surgery is in doctor's office things won't be too bad. My son's been worried about his Grandma. Not saying kids don't love their parents but(in my case too)kids have an extra affection for their grandparents and especially grandmothers. I'm gonna watch the cam and might check in later or tomorrow morning since I go to work a little later on Thursday. Take care all.

grannyblt said...

I'd like to think they are just falling on each other at this point. I haven't seen live cam yet, but sure see a bunch of pantry items from the still cam.

Lolly said...

Just trying to shed the winter weight gain. Stopped walking, too and that did not help.
Just trying to get back to where I should be.

magpie said...

Hoping and Praying for all the best possible outcomes, for your
other in law, Jerry
and comfort for you and your family as well ♥

magpie said...

There was indeed some serious
fish flipping and flopping going
on through the afternoon...
For our Fish Experts...what are these fish?

magpie said...

All sound good Lolly....
You have lots of determination
for getting things done !

Lolly said...

Oh, I think those two were going at each other. It was really sorta funny.

Okay, back outside I go. Up to 70 now.

stronghunter said...

It really looks like they are trying to peck at each other and losing balance in the process. Not too steady yet.

magpie said...

For Maria and anyone else interested, here is the link to the
American Kestrel Cam...
in Nebraska....
don't see a bird in there
right now but I did awhile back:

American Kestrel Cam, Nebraska

and remember to hit that refresh image tab shown

stronghunter said...

Best wishes for your mother-in-law, Jerry. Hope it is just a simple procedure with good results.

magpie said...

I think I even saw a short event when both parents were feeding the babies earlier...

stronghunter said...

Bridge tonight at Bette's. Must get ready.

magpie said...

Trump no Trump, Shirley....
have fun !

I had forgotten about that term
Wushi, Paula...good to see some of favorite terms here

Hello Donka Maria...glad you are on board again !

ttfn back later on...xo ♥

Sandi said...

Margy, I think those fish are called big, bigger, and biggest! I'm having a hard time even imaging an eagle being able to pick up that fish just to the right of Shep and then hoist it 80 feet into the air. I bet whichever parent brought that whopper in was really panting when s/he landed!! I would have LOVED to see that pick-up in person!!

magpie said...

was just 2 parents at Blackwater with their two babies
now just two babies
and
one osprey at BWO

magpie said...

Yes, Sandi....good names for those whoppers! Shep was breathing pretty hard when he landed with a couple of them and shook the water off his wings a few times also

magpie said...

Four of us at work had the cam up
was great eagle nest watching day for all of us

grannyblt said...

Prayers for a good outcome from your MIL's surgery, Jerry

And I would like to ask for prayers and good thoughts for my cousin and her family. Her oldest daughter, who was only 47, had a sudden cerebral hemorrhage last week and never regained consciousness. Life support was eventually withdrawn and her organs were donated.

magpie said...

Hoping to read some updates
about Sharon this evening

time to go grab a panda nap
for a bit
ttfn again xo ♥

magpie said...

oh grannyblt....that is so sad, I am so sorry....and yes prayers, your cousin's daughter too young...

Great poem Susan!

Well, as I expected, Steve got a scolding from the DR for getting ahead of himself without discussing with the Dr first. Much of the heel is healing but there are 2 areas where it hasn't completed healing yet. Was it doing too much too soon? was it the 3 weeks he was smoking again? No way to know for sure. He HAS been given permission to drive and use the cane OFICIALLY now. And he has to go back in 6 weeks. If he had a desk job, he could go back to work. He isn't allowed to stay up for too long or too far although he is to increase activity a little every day as tolerated. No carrying things while walking, no walking without cane and shoes, no stairs, no ladders, no uneven surfaces....etc., and he is still to do his exercises.

The wrist IS completely healed though! But no lifting anything over 10lbs until next visit in 6 weeks.

grannyblt said...

Thanks Margy and JudyE

Looks like Belle came home for dinner. I wonder if all of the noise is a factor in so much fish in the pantry. I would think the noise may put B&S on edge..

stronghunter said...

Glad Steve is making progress, Lynne.
