I don't seem to have sound. i had it this morning...how about anyone else?

Unknown said...

Awesome! I just got on my little netbook at work to check on nest and was treated to seeing Mom feeding self and babies from a big ole fish carcass! Yay! Little bobbles look great. Makes me so happy to see ♥

But something happened to my sound too--I have no sound either

Hi everyone!
And.. HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEV!

glo said...

aww I missed this fish feeding but very glad to read about it.

glo said...

Do we know who brought the fish?

Unknown said...

(geez, just had a message from a friend that there are now 2 hatches at the Sooner Lake nest..that is the 4 egg nest which seems too small for 4 babies. But; a few years ago they had a 4 egg clutch and only 2 of the 4 hatched. I sure wish them well.)

I have to go back to work now, but AM SOO HAPPY I GOT TO SEE OUR TWO SPECIAL BOBBLES AND MOMMA BELLE ENJOYING A NICHE FISH LUNCH! DOES THE HEART GOOD!

Bye for now

Unknown said...

oops--RAK! Meant a nice fish lunch...

hedgiesbaby said...

Boo!!!!! Thanks Lydia for confirming I am not losing it, YET. LOL
I do not like not having sound.

Lolly said...

Belle brought the fish. She ate some and fed the babes. At first Shamrock was missing out as he had his back turned to Belle. He finally turned around and was fed. Great to see!

Belle also moved that stick further from her face.

I was doing my "walking". Was fun to watch the nest and feed while walking. Hurrah!

Unknown said...

GLO--I don;t know who brought the fish it was there when I turned my netbook on--at least part of a fish carcass with some good ole fish meta. LOL--Momma Belle was tearing huge chuncks off it. Feeding some to self and some to bobbles. Loved seeing it. And love seeing the bright sunshine. Now I can work without worrying the rest of the afternoon

Hugs to all Over and out...

Lolly said...

You are so correct. Had not thought about it, but no sound. I see Belles feathers a blowin in the wind, we would have wind sound.

Lolly said...

I'll repeat in case you missed it, Belle brought in the fish. Nice size too.

glo said...

Oh Lolly you just convinced me to get that smart phone ASAP it will be good for my health costs as well. I would much rather pay to watch the eagles than to treat all kinds of ailments because of sitting at a computer for 7 yrs watching an eagle cam :-)

Unknown said...

PS@ hegiesbaby- I DO NOT LIKE having sound either!!!! Okay, now really outta for now--got work to do ,sigh>

Lolly said...

Glo I am going to try to post your video.

Glo's video of earlier feeding

Lolly said...

I wonder what your problem was, Glo. I got it to post.

glo said...

Thanks Lolly I am glad to see it here. No sure why my link didn't stay 3 times. I did take a picture of it posted to the blog time number 3 well because it was there. Google gremlins perhaps :-)

Lolly said...

I love my iphone and ipad which both get the live cam, but I was "walking" with my DVD in front of the TV and my laptop. :)

glo said...

LOL I have lots of problems Lolly. I got it to post too just not stay there. I was actually wondering if Steve had turned off the ability to post a video link to the blog because some folks had gotten the spammer post yesterday from folks with emails coming. I don't do that so I never saw that happen. I may try again with a nice photo or something later.

Lolly said...

Yes, there are all kinds of grimlins associated with technology!!! We shall overcome! lol

I am off to get beautiful. Washed my hair this morn and my do needs a lot of attention.

Later Gators!

Lolly said...

It has been mentioned on the OC blog that there is no sound.

Lolly said...

Passing by my laptop and see another feeding going on. Belle's back is to the cam, so can not see who is getting the food. We shall assume both babes!! :)

NCSuzan said...

Have glorious HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BEV!

I have given up on the why of sometimes sound and sometimes not. I do know it is nothing on my end and unfortunately I can not control the world so I sit frustrated like you guys!

And poor Belle, to have to add provider to all her other responsibilities too. LOL!

magpie said...

wonder what is on the menu this time !

NCSuzan said...

Forgive me. Just want to thank those of you whom have posted great shots and videos. Even though I have watched most of it, it is great to see it again and again. I love it!

NCSuzan said...

Hey there, Margy!

NCSuzan said...

One last thing, Happy Anniversary to Andy and Ken. 42 years! Congratulations!

glo said...

Well I think Belle decided she had served and eaten enough meat for a while. She wanted fish!!!

magpie said...

HI Suzan and Susan, Lolly, Glo and everyone before and after right now ☺ ♥

magpie said...

whee, that swaying nest reminds me
of some kind of wild carnival ride, really fascinating.

have to sign off for now
will "see You" and the Royal Birds later

Mema Jo said...

I have just returned and WOWSER - now that is a fish! It has been said that the fish had water which was important to the birds. Good ole' Belle!

Sound? Sometimes good but sometimes the wind is too loud and strong to keep it on. This morning when Belle came into the nest with all the new fluff, I did jump out of my chair when she landed with a loud thump!
Rob at Outdoor (if reading the comments) is being told "No Sound"

Hello, Susan. The audio is disabled intentionally due to extraneous noise in the area. You do not need to adjust your volume level. Audio is disabled until further notice. Thank you.

That was a quick response from Live Eagle cam. Thanks for posting Susan.

Question for the group......when is the next gathering or Open House?

Hoda said...

Very good ski here. It was fast and we went early so the sun just came over the valley towards the end of the ski. I so much enjoy gliding on the snow. did well on two hills too...

Ears candled and I like having them clean.

Good after noon all.

Happy Birthday Bev

SHAR thinking of you let us know about the test please

Feeding going on. All is well at the nest. I like the zoom out.

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Thanks for all the birthday wishes!! Feeding time again at the sycamore palace!

Hedgiesbaby - NO OPEN HOUSE THIS YEAR due to cut funding at NCTC per Steve Chase.
An alternative plan is trying to be made

I wish they would let US decide if we wanted sound or not instead of deciding for us. Just saying...

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Looks like Shep is doing a little housekeeping!

Hoda said...

I think it is Shep and he picks up the food that was at noon and brings it to nine...on to six.

Both Hedgie and Shamrock are asking for more food...WOW I see a difference in their size already. They are growing.

Babes are still uncovered as Shep does some house cleaning...He goes towards the cup and is positioning himself and there is a roll and he settles.

Larder seems to be between six and eight this year.

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Settled in with the babes now!

paula eagleholic said...

Wonder when Shep will stop rolling the chicks ;)

WV sUSAn said...

Bev, I thought it odd that they would just decide to turn off the sound, also. My volume control works very well and I can still hear the eagles.... well I could if the sound was on. :-(

Unknown said...

Hi. Just had another moment to grab an aftern0on peek in time form work. I saw this comment just posted on OC by Rob: "I have been instructed to mute the microphone for the next week due to training that is occuring nearby. We apologize for the inconvenience and sound is due to return next Thursday, 3/28/2013.

Unknown said...

And yes, agree--I LOVE seeing that big fish in the pantry! Out again

Unknown said...

and I will miss hearing the peeping babies! Only for a little more than a week...but still...gotta get back tow work now

Hoda said...

I think it is time to have a cup of hot chocolate!!! Yep that isa a plan indeed...
The only part of winter that will linger into spring for me! That and skiing...I would love to go half way through April!

WV sUSAn said...

Thanks, Lydia.

paula eagleholic said...

a WEEK, UGH. We are gonna miss all that peeping! Must be having some sort of gun training...they would rather turn off the sound than put up a notice under the cam...people tend to call NCTC about the sounds, I think this is why they just mute the cam.

WV sUSAn said...

Yes, Paula, a banner on/under the cam would have worked very nicely.

Hoda said...

I understand PAULA about people calling NCTC over the gun training noise. I can never reconcile NCTC with gun training...it is just me not intending to start a debate or annoy anyone.

WV sUSAn said...

And here I thought that NCTC's activities revolved around us and the eagles. heheheheh Where's my sarcasm font?!?

Good afternoon my eagle friends! Home for work day #2 - two normal days in a row!! No drama, no turmoil, what a nice day!!

Like others, I am so happy to see a fish in the nest!! So Belle brought it??? Remember the old TV commercial for Enjoli perfume that said, ♫"I can bring home the bacon ... fry it up in a pan ..." Looks like Belle is making the point with Shep that she can do it all!!

some more bulbs are coming through. I am so excited. They are growing and I will wait till the weekend to water them as it should be warmer. The wind off of the glaciers has a nip to it today. I have the windows open to freshen the place up a bit and so can feel the nippiness. When I was skiing I put out so much effort that I was warm...cooking does not use the same kind of energy!!! LOL!!!

Lolly said...

LOL My daughter should be called Belle as she can and has to do it all!

It is great to see that fish lying there. I do like fish instead of other bodies. :)

I really do not like to think of gun training with eagles in the nest. Hmmm? Wonder if that is it. Sure do miss the sound.

hedgiesbaby said...

I am a little worried too if there is gun training close to the nest!
But, I can say, if there were sound right now, we would all have it turned down. It is SO windy here. I can feel the house shake with some of those gusts.

I think we definitely need to try and get a gathering together this spring sometime, even if there wouldn't be an open house at NCTC. Would be good to see all of those that could make it.

hedgiesbaby said...

JudyE....you type so fast no one can reply back fast enough, LOL.

glo said...

Darn I feel like I will miss so much as I have the camera open on desk top and know immediately when to enlarge and snap or video by the sound of what I hear. I have thought several times about just turning it off and going with the still pop up but haven't done so yet. I just peak every now and then as see if I see something worth sharing. OH well years ago we had a still cam that changed once every 30 secs. Remind me to count my blessings.

JudyEddy said...

did you notice how fuzzy the ground is also

stronghunter said...

Kathryn is bringing home some Popeye's or some such thing tonight.

We are both exhausted. I bowled six games. Trying very hard to figure out why my bowling scores have declined instead of improving.

Something said on here--I think some comments made by Margy and Janet about ball weight got me to thinking, so I tried a couple of the lighter balls. I think it might be the thing. I tried an 8-pounder and a 10 pounder. Need to work with them a bit more before I am sure.

But I came home so tired that I had to take a nap this afternoon.

We are being summoned to dinner. BBL.

evenin all, trying to get caught up....

regarding the sound...it was mentioned that it is extraneous sound, which I would take to mean a sound not related to the cam video, as in, some sort of external interference being heard or something of that nature?? Maybe another training session with gunfire, or perhaps alien transmissions from space? LOL!

thanks for the well wishes. Still feeling under the weather. Sinus/could thing starting I think. Both Drs and both of the kids are sick. I'd rather be outright sick and get over it than feel only half normal for who knows how long. GRRRR!

Lynne2 said...

Steve has updated the Open Up Page
for the Eagle Cam, here is the message:

Two eaglets hatched this weekend in the bald eagle nest at the National Conservation Training Center near Shepherdstown, WV. The first eaglet hatched on 3/16/13 at 2pm after 38 days of incubation.
The second eaglet hatched 3/17/13 at 3pm after 39 days of incubation. The eggs were laid February 6th and 9th. In the next 3 months they will grow from eaglet to adult and by mid-June they will fledge the nest. Feeding time is approximately every 1-2 hours with fish caught from the Potomac and other food, as available.

The link below will show a still photo image that refreshes every 30 seconds. If you right-click your mouse over the image you can save, print or e-mail a picture.

Oh My Lulu Lemon news made it to eastern USA!!!

No No No in Nelson we are not Lulu Lemon Folks...this is more like Yuppy Yoga...they have stores in the big city but not in Nelson Thank God. I am not sure I like their image of what a woman's body looks like. Fancy clothes and very expensive. The see through stuff was taken off the market as they got many complaints.!!! JANET REALLY with BROWNIES AND NOW SEE THROUGH YOGA CLOTHING BC IS GETTING A BEATING!!! LOL!!!

Janet said...

Have had a busy day....it was sunny and in the mid 50'; kind of cool, but very nice for the final day of winter.

We completed the invisible fence, after about 12 hours of work. Now we must train Beano and Scout about it . We have already begun, but it will take some time for them to completely understand their new boundaries. I think that this will be positive, no one will run into the road after a cat, possum, etc and possibly get hit. We do live on a cul de sac, but people drive rather fast up the hill...

I planted a few pansies as well. Bright yellow with black "faces"...and snow is in the forecast, showers anyway...for Thurday! Spring begins in the morning, of course snow is in the forecast! March is fickle!

We went to the orthopaedic surgeron and have Tom's shoulder surgery scheduled for June 4. He has a tear in the supraspinatus muscle (tendon portion near the acromium process) ... about quarter sized. It is an injury he sustained while he was still in the Navy (retired 8 years this year) and they wouldn't do anything about it....

Finally getting that fixed.

Its been a lovely day. Looks like everyone is doing pretty well.

STRONGHUNTER: glad that you tried lighter balls. Thing seems to be with them, for me anyway, is slowing down and throwing more slowly and accurately. Hope that helps you out!

All righty everyone, time to call it a night. I'm up late!

Healing prayers for Lynne2!! Feel better, pronto, please!

Thank you for the Anniversary wishes! Ken and I spent much of the day being lazy, but we did go to Acapulco Restaurant for a yummy early dinner. Very early this morning we watched some live coverage from Vatican City. Can't believe how many people were in that square!

Want to say thank you to those who are posting about what's happening at the Sycamore Palace! Good work!

Judie, hope your computer gets fixed really soon! That's so frustrating to deal with, I know!
Glad you were able to post a couple of times.

Well, think I'm going to say goodnight. My shoulder is complaining, and I don't want to make it worse. Have said prayers for everyone, and the porch light is on. Both security systems are enabled. Sleep tight, with SED!

Funny about the LuLu Lemon see through yoga pants story - thank goodness our HODA wears annother brand! Maybe they could sell them as lingerie.

So sad, and so sorry to hear about the TURTLE BAY situation, PAULA. Wouldn't ever want anyone to go through that. I know it's just nature, but it's still unbearable to watch.

Lori, I continue to waver on the decision of this semester or Fall but am leaning more toward this semester. Have fun studying.

Shirley, at least your patrolers had some common interests. Had to laugh. The average lifespan of a neighborhood watch program is two years.

Okay, need to get myself up and moving. Going to get my "do" did this morning.

Good Sunny Nest Morning to you!

Nice to see a dry nest with sunshine!! I suspect you will see more feedings today.

Wishing Steve a good doctor report, Lynne2 to feel better today, more definitive news for Sharon, more good news for Doug today and extreme right brain activity for Lori today!!

Healing prayers all around today. Get out and get some of that Vitamin D, if you have some sun in your area!!

Feeding at the nest!

Hi, Judie! Common interest, yes. Wonder how much actual watching was going on.

stronghunter said...

Expect you really need that printer with classes still to teach, Judie. It is amazing how inexpensive they have become. You can even get them at some grocery stores.

Good Morning, from the home front.... Off work, Today was my Friday. So I hope to watch the cam some. My Shep makes me nervous when he is trying to settle. I know he has to be stepping on Hedgie and Shamrock. Ouch!!

GOOD MORNING ☼
It is so beautiful, this first Spring day but does not feel like it looks...38° going up to 52°,but only 38° tomorrow for a high!

SHIRLEY...I had to laugh out loud at your description of your neighborhood watch! I'll bet the FULL story would make for a good book...something like "50 SHADES OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH".

Good Morning - I think I could give our groundhog a whack or two if these temps don't rise!

Good reports from the nest - Hoping that the fish keep being brought in for the chicks.

Enjoy your day Carolyn and Glo let us know how your Spring Cleaning comes along.

Frustrated--Made an appointment for a mammogram on Friday. Have to call doctor to have him fax the order. Called doctor. Got their voice mail with a long list of instructions. Followed instructions. Got another voice mail with another list of instructions. Followed instructions. Was permitted to leave my own voice mail. Geesh.

They have promised to call me today (via voice mail). Unless I stay home waiting for their call, they will leave me a voice mail.

stronghunter said...

Guess I will call my primary care doctor if I do not hear anything today. Meanwhile, I want to get my do done. Having trouble getting in touch with them, too. Keep getting busy signal. Is everyone calling JC Penney today????

stronghunter said...

Do will be done on Friday. My regular stylist is on a leave of absence. Trying someone new. Wish me luck.

Our two bobbleheads are bobbling right now. Belle in nest.

I'll say frustrating...
gets tiresome doesn't it?

I just made appt with primary care doc to get referral for
mammo and a few other things

stronghunter said...

Wow, that is a big fish!

stronghunter said...

Little ones watching and pecking at one another. Parent eating.

stronghunter said...

Parent now feeding. Shep, I think.

Lolly said...

Good morning! Now that is a fish!!! That is what I have been wanting to see in the nest. I think the eaglets are being fed, hard to tell. Wish she would pull the brunch closer to the egg cup.

stronghunter said...

Yeah, Margy, I guess you are supposed to be happy when you get to the inner sanctum of voice messages. It is a reward for following all of those instructions.

Lolly said...

LOL I made my comment about the fish and then read the blog. I think we are all thrilled to see that fish. Who brought it in?

Shirley, I thought it was Belle feeding according to the tail feathers. Nee a good look at the head.

stronghunter said...

Okay . . . my oncologist has retired. The person called to say that she does not know if they can write an order, but she will check. Why does someone call to tell me they do not know what to tell me? Why don't they find out and then call me?

Lolly said...

I still think it is Belle. She has now tucked Hedgie and Shamrock under her.

stronghunter said...

Looks like it is Belle. I kind of thought I saw her tail feathers, but then thought I saw a spot on the head. They were both in the nest a bit ago.

Vert frustrating, Shirley.

Shep Brought in the nest

And we are going to SPLIT soohn

stronghunter said...

Yeah. She said that they might need to see me first before writing a mammogram order. Why would they need to do that? Mammogram is routine. They should want to see the results. That means get the mammo, then see me.

Lolly said...

Belle has a dark spot, too on the top of her head. It shows at a certain angle.

Need to go eat my breakfast. We are "walking" in 20 minutes. Jack is leaving for lunch with friends so he said lets walk at a certain time. lol Now down 13 pounds. 7 more to go!!!!

magpie said...

Shep was roosting
then Belle flew in.
Then Belle roosted
then Shep returned a few mins later
with that WHALE
then he and she looked at the fish for awhile
then Belle flew away
then Shep started seriously chomping down while the kids were
pecking at each other
and now, well
here we are
