Might as well go ahead and do the

split!!!!! Wheeeeeeeeeeeee!

Judie said...

Good grief! Just made it through behind Lolly and have to say my anxiety increases when I see two little babes on opposite sides of the nest and for all the world looking like they are just going to scramble overboard.

Been grading. Surprisingly, papers thus far are actually pretty good.

Lovely sunshiny day. Headed to the scullery. Hope everyone has had a good day.

Judie said...

Oh, someone may have mentioned but just in case: Isla has returned. I will try to send an email to Chrissy and I did send an email to my Scottish police officer.

Okay, bye

Sandi said...

Lolly, you're right - some of Belle's kids ARE adult eagles now! Speaking of kids, these 2 kids are just everywhere today!! Looks like they've both wiggled their way into Daddy's shadow now. Both plotzed!

Sandi said...

Shep calling out! Hope he's just calling for Belle to relieve him!

Great news that Isla has returned for another year!

Lolly said...

How old is Isla now? She is getting ancient!!

Bathrooms clean, house clean and straight but maybe should dust a little. Deviled eggs are made, so tonight whip up two salads and get the potatoes and ham ready to pop into the oven tomorrow. Laurel is bringing a cake. Jack emailed her with a plea. He said "Jacob and I would really like it." So funny!

Lolly said...

Shep is working on the egg cup. Maybe to lure them back to where they belong. I think they are sleeping in the pantry...right on top of days old rabbit!

JudyEddy said...

Lolly said...

Boy, did I ever get scolded. I am still being fussed at and I am inside!!! I wanted to clean the outside of my kitchen sick window. I always check the wrens nest and this time she just stared back at me and then flew away. She landed in a nearby redbud and proceeded to give me what for!! I apologized!!! Oh, and there are 4 eggs in there now! Yea!

Sandi said...

Judy, I'm wondering if the new cam just has a better microphone to pick up the sound? I agree the kids sound noisier than I remember!

Lolly, so sorry your kitchen has a sick window! =)

Time to fix some food for people and pets. Later!

paula eagleholic said...

Hoda, so sorry for your loss.

Now Shep is at the 6 eating.

paula eagleholic said...

Now Shep is at the 6 eating.

Lolly said...

LOL Shep was feeding and Belle walked around the eaglets and took the food he was feeding. Then she walked back to her place and began feeding them. So funny!

paula eagleholic said...

Shamrock on the left, Hedgie on the right...they are both getting fed.

paula eagleholic said...

Oh, is that what she did, LOL

Lolly said...

They have grown tremendously since we got the cam back.

JudyEddy said...

BELLE goes over and steal the fish that Shep was feeding to them now she is moving it to them and I guess she want to do it

paula eagleholic said...

Think Shep has the rabbit part.

Boy, this is the nicest day we have had all spring...

Lolly said...

Gross.....Shep is messing with long departed food in the nest. The rabbit?

JudyEddy said...

I am uploading a short video of them traveling half the way across the nest to get to Shep and also where Belle stole the fish

paula eagleholic said...

Shep wants to feed them too...looks like another bunny part at the top of the nest.

JudyEddy said...

Shep was at 6 now he moved to help feed the kids They are both feeding and wow lots of talking between all of them Belle too

Lolly said...

Up to 77 here now. First time I have felt warm in the house. Guess I could open more windows.

I am dusting...back to work. But, it hard to leave when the whole family is present.

paula eagleholic said...

Shep worked and worked to get the right size piece...feeding Shamrock now.

JudyEddy said...

Belle seems to be done feeding them

JudyEddy said...

I can see their beaks move so I guess that is them with the different fast sound
BELLE is back to picking at the fish and eating it herself

JudyEddy said...

BELLE is moving and picking up sticks

JudyEddy said...

What Do We Do Now?
One in a series of seven photos:

The National Elk Refuge Outdoor Recreation Planner witnessed a spectacular standoff between two juvenile mountain lions and five coyotes. The coyotes let the cats know they weren’t welcome in the area. The mountain lions sought safety on a buck and rail fence for over an hour while the coyotes lurked in the background.

Hoda said...

Oh the consensus is that the intrudere made it to the nest it was not Belle! My error! Was indeed an adult eagle

Mema Jo said...

Hubby and I went out to eat - Bob Evans of all places. Since the 1st of the year our eating out went downhill
due to my not being up to par.

Hoda - sorry to hear of your cousin's death. I know your heart goes out to the family.

Hoda - the video (I think) showed the intruder not Belle coming into the nest and it was Shep that fought the intruder off over the side of the nest and down towards the ground.

Hoda said...

Thank you for the reports I am so glad that they are both so well fed.

Thank you for the condolences. It is Life.

The walk was very good for me. It is 71 degrees here. Street singers and street dancers are out. Half the town sounded like Americans and they are having a great time. Young people walking around cheerful and happy joining in with the locals. What awesome kids from the USA. I smiled at their enthusiasm and eating of icecream and simply singing along and dancing. Many plates from Western USA today.
The park was full. I think everybody went out to greet the sun.Shorts sandals bare feet and some topless and some in skimpy tops! This is March and we are all hoping this is not our summer!!! Chairs out for street cafes and and doors are wide open...Blissful

This too is Life!

magpie said...

Yes that was one big large adult eagle, Shep was great defending the babies, and the nest, and in
chasing off the unwelcome visitor

I have Type 2 diabetes - Whenever my blood sugar is 150 or above (before breakfast and before dinner) I take a drug of very low dosage called
Glimepiride. It helps to increase the normal insulin output of the pancreas. It is working well for me. I regularly take 2 tabs twice a day of Metformin.
So far there is no need to inject insulin. I am thankful for that....

Hoda said...

My sound was off what were you hearing LOLLY? It all looks and sounds quiet now...a bit of wind is all.

magpie said...

Okay Jo, that is good, no injection...and thank you, I had thought Michael was choo-chooing Sunday, Blessed that he has already arrived at the Bragg Bunch's Roost NOW !!

Tried to vacuum my room awhile ago. Now I know why the dustbin was empty after Hunter did his vacuuming job. I wondered because the floor looked reasonably clean, yet there was nothing in the dust bin.

The dang thing had picked up some stuff and it was just caught up in the brushes. It dumped the mess in my room and there was not enough suction to do anything.

Went to Walmart and came home with a nice new Dyson. We work vacuums pretty hard in this house with all of the critters. This is supposed to be one of their vacuums that are good for animal hair. But then so was the one that has just died (but not a Dyson). We shall see.

stronghunter said...

Oh, glad your papers are pretty good, Judie. I think you said you enjoyed your wanna be adults this term. Good papers are so much easier to grade.

So nice when you do not have to figure what it is they are trying to say and make suggestions about how to fix something that looks pretty hopeless.

Happy Easter !!

I have some family making their

I so wanted to be there, but I couldn't pull it off

magpie said...

My niece sings in the choir also
and was behing the Incense-shaker the other night, Holy Thursday,
she said it was a bit of

stronghunter said...

I think it just means you have a good vacuum, Margy.

I had a Dyson before, but not a very fancy one. It did lose suction after awhile, but I liked it while it worked. It was light, the spots most likely to clog were easy to get to, and the hose was long enough to reach all the way upstairs.

stronghunter said...

Belle is awake. Wonder if the kiddies are stirring about underneath her?

stronghunter said...

Happy Easter to you, Margy!

Belle tucked in...earlier the little ones were chirping.

Congratulations on the new vacuum SHIRLEY I hope it does a good job and lasts a long while.

Blessings to you and your family MARGY those gone and those here...

Hoda said...

Cam went off and is back on again on its own!!! Belle still tucked in.

Lolly said...

Hi Margy!

Hoda, I was in the kitchen cooking when I heard a siren. It was so loud, Jack thought it was here. LOL It was on the cam.

I made that comment and then went back to the kitchen. Everything is ready for tomorrow. Will put the ham in just before we leave for church. Will then just have to put the potatoes in when we get home. They are ready and in the refrig along with the two salads. Jack (the bread maching expert) is going to make a loaf of bread to come out about the time we eat.

Hoda said...

You make sure to take a picture of your EASTER TABLE LOLLY. It is a good thing JACK is a bread maker and let me know what wines he chooses...I bet you it will be a super delicious meal and may it bring blessings to you and your family. I love it that you said "Your Eagle Family"...yes indeed you are family to me.Blessed Be...so much Gratitude.

Lolly said...

Well, we love ya, Hoda and we show that by giving you a hard time. (And hugs when you need them! and when you don't need them.) lol

Jack
was down checking the wine rack for wine tomorrow, but there is a good chance Michael will show up with the wine. And, by down I mean squatted down and looking at the wine rack. We do not have a wine cellar! :)

Lolly said...

Michael has a cute "wine cellar" Just off his dining room is a little room just for wine. It looks like a wine cellar and is very Tuscan.

Lolly said...

I was telling Jack about the intruder today. I watched that video which was 14 minutes long. For 12 or 13 of those minutes Shep was sitting in a funny fashion with wings sorta out protecting the eaglets and one of the eaglets was out stretching his neck and looking around. Bet Shep would have scolded him if he knew. I thought it sorta funny.

Hoda said...

I saw that LOLLY and laughed at the little one and papa not knowing she was looking about!

Tuscan Wine Cellar sounds promising. Between JACK and MICHAEL I am sure you will have an excuisite selection of wine...

Lolly said...

Oh, yes, we will! Michael is a wine snob. LOL They now have a good friend who is part owner of a winery and he is the wine maker out in Napa Valley. Ashley went there years ago with a group of girls. They met this guy, a wine maker and one of the girls really fell for him. He came to Dallas for a program and then this girl visited him out there, they fell in love, married and now have two children. We have been to Napa and Michael says when we go back, just tell them who we are and we will be treated royally. Hmnmm? Sounds good to me!

Actually, we prefer Paso Robles wineries rather than Napa. That area is too expensive for us! lol

Lolly said...

Time for me to give myself a pedicure and a manicure. Hear that, Wanda????? Going to break out the open toed heels for church in the morning.

magpie said...

Go Purple Lolly !!! ☺

we had a bakery here for many years, [now out of business :( ]late at night the smell of fresh baked bread permeated the

The sandperson has returned from making sure Michael arrived safely at Ft. Bragg. Also made a quick fly-by to check out the nest and all is quiet there.

Shirley, hope the new vacuum works wonders.

Anyone remember: "...Mine eyes are dim, I cannot see..." Well, anyway, mine eyes are tired and I can barely see. It is time to say goodnight.

The night light is on and the sandperson will be on the way soon. Heard some grumbling about having to now go all the way to Scotland but sandperson likes Isla almost as much as Belle and Shep and the babes.

Restful sleep for all and, in advance, a most lovely Easter morning to everyone.

Assembled vacuum.

Vacuumed part of my room and laid down some throw rugs to help protect the carpet from cat accidents.

Will finish tomorrow.

Purchased a rib roast for tomorrow. We will have squash and mashed potatoes. Cheesecake for dessert. And a dish of raw veggies and dip for an appeteaser.

Will ask Susan and Rus to bring some bread and any other beverages they might wish to have.

Rest well my friends. Have a good Easter Day tomorrow.

Waiting to hear from WANDA on the LOLLY Tootsie situation...I hope the colours meet WANDA'S approval so we would not have a paint war going between theses two ladies!!!

Happy too, to hear that Isla has returned.

Shirley, there is nothing like a good vacuum to pick up the pet hair!

Jo, glad Michael has arrived and can be there for Christine and the gkids.

Good Easter Morning Eagle Family!!!

I hope today hold great family plans for you!

HODA, so sorry about the loss of your cousin. Prayers for you and the family. Big ((HUGS)).

I thought a lot of you would be up by now getting things done in the kitchen, but I know a lot of you did some of that yesterday - like LOLLY!

Congrats on your new vacuum, SHIRLEY.
You will love it. I've had two of them.

Amazing that Isla has returned. That's a miracle. Didn't think we would see her again.

Thank God SHEP fought off the intruder and the eagle family is okay. So scary!

JUDIE, great that the papers you are grading are pretty good. Better than bad and boring!

MARGY, your new avatar is so YOU! I love it.

I hope everyone has a great Easter meal with their family today. We all have so much to be thankful for.

I love us!!!

I think this is the first time I've actually read the words Steve wrote about our blog.

My chore today, and I should have none, but it will be writing flash cards for the science/chemistry//biology/physics, etc., part of my test! Started doing it yesterday. Don't think I can even come close to finishing today, but I will try. There's a lot to cover.

Shep just arrived with a fish. Belle's siren went off and she grabbed it immediately, and she's hiding it right now.

Morning, all.

Shep must have brought a nice meal in. When I brought up the cam, Belle was mantling big tim. Shep is still there...oops he just took off.

Belle has grabbed the monster fish and is eating...chicks are in the bowl...wow big PS from chick.

OK, she just flew with the food to the top of the nest, yes it's a nice fresh fish.

paula eagleholic said...

Shep is back from the right

HAPPY EASTER!!

paula eagleholic said...

The chicks are really cheeping this morning!

paula eagleholic said...

Belle just covered the chicks with a wad of fluff!!

paula eagleholic said...

Chicks are being brooded...the cheeping has finally stopped.

paula eagleholic said...

Belle up and calling

Sandi said...

Belle is doing some feather ruffling and calling out like she's trying to scare something away.

paula eagleholic said...

Alarm calling...she has the chicks covered...

Shep in the nest, alarm calling too.

Sandi said...

Now Shep is in the nest and both are calling out! Uh oh!

paula eagleholic said...

they are both puffed up...calling and looking all around...something overhead...around...

And then it stops...intruder must be flying further away.

paula eagleholic said...

Shep was right up in the tree, and flew down to defend the nest if necessary. Good boy, Shep!

paula eagleholic said...

Ha, did he drop in with a fish, too?

Sandi said...

OK, all is calm now! Great job by both parents!! Belle got the chicks covered and Shep got to the nest in a hurry to protect his turf and his family!

Sandi said...

Both are still very alert and looking around.

grannyblt said...

Good job Shep.

Happy Easter morning to everyone.

Missed the drama but all was quiet when I looked in on the nest although Belle and Shep were both there. See breakfast remnants.

Isla has company and she's just as chirpy and fussy as ever.

Lori, I think you asked about retirement. Yes, I have decided that this will be my final semester. The question is when to give notice to the horrible person who runs the department. Nice would be mid-May, spiteful would be mid-August.

Michael should be having a wonderful Easter in Ft. Bragg. Will be thinking of Christine tomorrow.

Good morning,

Happy Easter, everyone. The birds are chirping in my backyard, and a fat robin is sitting on the fence.

George was sitting in his window seat awhile ago, and he got all twitchy watching the birds out there.

Need to go check on our Lady Ilsa. So good that she has returned.

Oh, the vacuum worked wonderously well. I got some stuff with it that you are supposed to sprinkle on your carpet. Says it keeps new carpets like new. Not sure what it might do for old carpets. I must investigate.

Congratulations, Judie, on your decision. Sorry your department chair is so difficult. That can make your workday hard to endure.

good morning everyone!
HODA: my condolences....and hugs to you and your family.....

yesterday was busy: i ended up working in the yard despite the lack of sunshine...it was in the 50's and cloudy, so a sweatshirt and jeans sufficed. i planted the last of my bulbs.....took care of some grass that had the audacity to be popping up where i didn't want it, moved some rocks around, etc. i even mowed the back yard!!!!!

just being outside lifted my spirits! its been so gray this winter, i have felt a little blah.

oh yeah, and the dogs all got their baths. everyone is sufficiently clean and insulted all at the same time! lol

then the bathroom and i get a good scrubbing !

today, the usual suspects are coming over for a cookout. wish the sun would peep his head out.....but no such luck. at least its not actively raining!!!!! on the grill will be the usual burgers and hot dogs....everyone is bringing something.

tomorrow back to work and SCHOOL. countdown now til school is out...may 24. kids have the big TCAP (tennesee comprehensive academic p????? tests) the 3rd week or so of april, so things will be buzzing in the school house.

i hope olivia doesn't have to do summer school this year. i have a meeting with the S (support) team on Tuesday.....am going to inquire. last year they didn't tell us til a couple of days before school was out. i was upset as we had planned that 10 day trip to florida. so therefore, she only went for 2 weeks to summer school...she could have used the full four weeks...but....

and tuesday, hopefully we will have FINALLY reached a decision regarding her math.....this has been the most frustrating thing! i understand that they have to evaluate, etc and try interventions....but its been since september.....it just feels LONG right now.

anyway, enough fussing about that. its an ongoing battle...

hope everyone has a lovely day....enjoy your family and friends. I ditto what Hoda said about this being a journey. Mom used to say we are just visitors here....and someday we will all return home. Make today a super part of that visit....hug people just a little more, encourage them a little more, and take in the sweetness of life.

Have a SUPER EAGLE DAY! light, love ,hugs and smiles to you, and you and , yes you too! :D

May everyone have a Blessed Easter Sunday

Thanks for all the comments concerning the intruder this am. I have a feeling we will be troubled for a while longer with that problem.

Oh My - there is the 400 split approaching. Going to get my day started..

Once again - Happy Easter Day ♥

Happy Easter to all. Been away for a while. Lost cam for a few days and see now it was fixed. Thanks to all that were involved. Looks like all is well at the nest. Hedgie and Shamrock are growing. Was going to get our licenses this morning and head out to fish somewhere...the clouds tell me that most likely will not happen. Hope everyone and everything has been well for all here. Can't remember if I updated my mother-in-law's surgery. Things went good. She had about a 5 inch vertical cut in her arm where the tumors were removed. She also got one of those chairs that help lift you out and really enjoys it. Thanks again for your thoughts, kind words and prayers during that time. I'll try and check in more often but we have a 3 day sale next week and then I'm vacation. Should be heading to Delaware to visit family on vacation.
