Good dqay here.

My niece had a healthy baby boy nd both mother and infant are doing well. He was 3.5 kilos..that is an 8 pound baby!!! Sounds large to me!!!

Yoga practice was good and I think I am coming down with something as I have the chills.

Happy Boxing day everyone.

Praying for your DAD's both LORI and DANA.

I agree with you DANA in regards Bro and SIL...something is not quite right. was he upset and not coping well because of the firefighters that got shot? Were they from his station?
Something is not clicking with him and your Dad's Health Situation.

Hoda said...

Thank you JO for the list...Got it and saved it...
With gratitude to you JO.

Thanks HODA! Congratulations on the new baby!

Dad just had a test today and no chat with the doctor, so we know nothing more today. He has a CT Scan on Friday. Kate is coming tomorrow with Dalai (the bulldog) so we have to put up all my Mom's snow men decorations, since Dalai thinks they are toys!

THELMA - great news about your BIL!

SANDI - enjoy being home and your own bed tonight!

JO - thanks for the January list!

Hoda said...

The baby's name is Abraham, spelt in Arabic makes it Ibrahim...Thanks MARGY and LORI.

Glad CAROLYN made it home safely...Hope all other East Coast travelers are doing well. The pictures on the internet look awful rather!

Enjoyed HER MAJESTY'S Christmas Message yesterday.

JUDIE glad every thing is stowed away safely for next year, Garland and all...you must know some magic yourself to handle those roads...LOL.

The skies were partly blue today...good to see...yet it is cold and I think we will have more snow before the year is out.

magpie said...

Oh, I remember now, Abraham....
thanks Hoda...

And Helllloooo Lori, good to hear from you, and hoping for more information for your Dad...

checking back for safe travels home. I bet its not much fun driving in this at all. Magpie Glad you followed to watch. It does bring back some great memories. We were all so very excited to see the pair we already had grown to enjoy so much "live". Then there was the year they added sound. I so longed to hear their calls:-) Good times.

Hoda said...

I watched too GLO. Thank you. I miss LIBERTY/LIB

On FB LYNNE said the roads were a mess and JO gave some very good advice about careful driving and keeping distance. I will feel much better when both PAULA and LYNNE check back in MARGY...I am with you on that...

Evening all! Finally home!!

The trip home was a drive from hell! By the time we got Mom onto her flight (plane was only delayed for an hour), the stuff falling from the sky was all rain. Driving home, it stayed rain (it's actually 55 degrees outside right now) but the rain was so hard at times that we couldn't see the road and the wind was blowing Denny6's van all over the road! What a mess!!

Our driveways are underwater and the wooded lot looks like a swimming pool. After the flood 2 months ago, I'm more than a little paranoid every time it rains really hard! The rain seems to be letting up some now - hope the water all stays outside!!

Mom should be in TX by now.

Thelma, I'm really glad to hear good news about your brother-in-law!! That's wonderful!

Lori, sorry you got no news on your dad today - I know the waiting and not knowing are really hard!

Need to unpack and find something to eat. Brian and Lynnis and their 2 dogs were here when we got home. Not sure how long they're staying -maybe the rest of the week?

Will say goodnight now since I will probably konk out early tonight! I'll "see" everyone in the early AM!

Hoda said...

The yoga over Christmas was by donation as a fund raiser for the Women's Centre, The Eco Society and a Peruvian Children's organization. They raised 1500 dollars to be split three ways...The teachers volunteered their time and the owner of the Moving Centre did not charge any costs for the space or heating...
so each organization gets 500$ donation...not bad for a Christmas gift...

glo said...

Hoda I think those of us who first watched and learned to love lib will always miss him. Shep did however step up to the plate well last year. He will be a good provider and feeder too now that his first year is over :-)

Hoda said...

YAY SANDI checked in...sorry about the water and I too hope it stays outside. That must have been some wind to drive through...that van can not be light!!! Glad you are in safe and sound.
Does your MOM know that Texas had snow?

Hoda said...

You are right indeed GLO...

Welcome Home Sandi and Dennis!
Wow, what a ride, and what a
Great Surprise that your Mom WAS able to fly out today!
Yay...!

magpie said...

I'd welcome any and all safe driving tips,
I surely do NOT follow anyone
too closely
and I had learned once upon a time to put car into neutral going around and down on some bad curves on slippery surfaces....
so the engine is not trying to
move the wheels too much..
so it sounds like Lynne2 is Home !

No MARGY I have not heard that LYNNE 2 is home it was a post before she left to go home. Still waiting on LYNNE

Good evening eagle buds
Home from work and had to pick
up Angie at work and take her
home because Carl had the car and
he and Jordyn spent the day at
sea world since Jordyns school
was closed today and Carl was
staying home with her He asked
her if she wanted to stay home or
go to sea world and yep she picked
it There passes run out at the
end of the year and I thought
how sweet he wanted to do that
with her instead of staying home
He has been doing more daddy stuff
since the incident with the school
shooting made him think which
is so bitter sweet in a way
We are having another cold front
move through today Wow the rain
was bad and yep they go stuck in
it at Sea World but it moved
quickly

Lynne2 said...

OK folks, sorry to keep you waiting but I AM home! I actually got home in pretty good time, very WET and pouring rain, some slippy spots but overall not too bad. Way better I'm sure than if I had left at lunch!

But when I got home, had to take the dogs out, then needed to shovel the slush off of the patio before it turned to ice. The patio light started blinking and then faded out and by the time I got back in the house, I realized ALL of the electric was out! If came back on just about a an hour ago, but it was wierd. It wasn't ALL the way back...lights were dim, space heaters barely coming on. It took about another half hour to get back to full power. Never saw that happen before!

Lynne2 said...

oh good Paula's home too, are we all accounted for?

"""Prayers for good results from the EEG!

Prayers for good news tomorrow please! They are doing an EEG study to ensure Isaac's brain activity is normal. He had some suspected seizure activity but we feel confident he is fine. It was started this afternoon with leads on his head and a camera to video him for the duration. Exciting news--he got to eat pears today for the first time & it went pretty good all things considered. We are glad that he is getting to try eating again so please also pray that this will go well. Have a great night everyone!

What a nasty day this was!
We were able to run into GG's to give her her pill packets and made a 2 day supply of meals. The roads were very bad, but on our way home, we followed the snow plow truck that was clearing the roads and spreading chemicals, which made our drive a lot
easier.
I can hear water dripping from the house, so it must be above freezing, but when the temps go down, the roads will freeze up and be treacherous.

Faceplant coming on...
Good night my friends, love and prayers for all♥

Good morning Jewels, Shar, Margy, and all my eagle friends!

Slept with the sliding glass door open a little last night - it was 53 degrees when I went to sleep and the rain had stopped. Now down to 40 and boy, is that wind picking up!!

Need to hit the grocery store today, HVAC guy is coming for our fall heat pump check (a little late), need to take a pile of clothes and stuff to the local thrift store (wish Wanda's clothes closet was close by), and make an appt. for an oil change and tire rotation for my Jeep. Mom made it safely to my nephew's house in Killeen, TX.

I started watching Lib and Belle in Jan. of 2009.

Congrats Hoda, on becoming a Great Aunt!

Hoping the seizure news on little Isaac is no big deal.

Prayers continue for Jo, Michael, Dana's dad, Lori's dad, Thelma's brother-in-law, Glo's mom-in-law, Bev's mom-in-law, Jim's sister, and any other needs on the blog that I haven't mentioned.

Make it a great day all. 2012 is counting down -only 5 more days!

Work then home. No extra clients today. My Thusday client is in Florida til next week.

Glad everyone seems to have arrived safely last night.....be safe today as well. Lots of tornados on the 25th...they say about 34....(watching the news). Wow. I'd take snow over that any day.

Sending light, love, and healing to all in need, thinking specificaly of Isaac this morning...and lots of love to all!

Good morning.

Well, that trip yesterday was really tiring. Just woke up.

So glad to see that all are safe and especially that Wanda and the Capt. visited Miss GG to make sure she's okay.

Lowreeda, if the Darth bag is returned and is not wanted at your roost -- I know a place!

Pot Plant owlet died. One remaining is growing larger by the day.

Bear cams may be operating soon. I hope so. Really looking for the live cam at NCTC. Maybe soon.

Cold with bright blue sky here this morning. Not sure what I will do after coffee.

Wishing everyone a good morning.

Judie said...

Doing a Margy.

DanaMo, yes, let your mind travel along the pages of a good book. Visiting the lives of people in another place in time can be very nice diversion.

glo said...

Well the good side to today is Dex and i are heading to the Dam area in IA about lunch time hoping to find some eagles. That will be the first time there this year. It never did get very active there last year so I am hoping and have heard some encouraging news.

The bad side of today is the Executive Director of a very large Religious Organization of 2000 churches in our area responsible for 20 plus food pantries and the Woman's shelter where I work/volunteer is lying critically "terminally" ill in a hospital ICU room. His wife has made the most difficult decision life will ever throw at a partner and that is to terminate treatment and pull a ventilator today. I would ask prayer for Ron and his wife and sons as they let go and let God's timing complete Ron's journey on this earth. This has been a very sudden and obviously extremely difficult few days for this family. A virus is taking his life but he was also diagnosed with a terminal illness last month just as he and his wife were making retirement plans. Life holds no guarantees. Hold your loved ones close everyday and tell them often of your love for them.

Good morning everyone! We have light flurries here, great big fluffy white flakes gently drifting to the ground. It almost looks fake!

ALERT!! ALERT!!

The garland has escaped from the secret hiding place!

Must have been all of the blizzards and winds. It just flew by. Headed north again. Keep your eyes open, Judie.

Lolly said...

Good morning! Can not believe I did not get on here all day yesterday. Michael and Ashley got over here in the afternoon. The drive was okay as they avoided all tall overpasses. We are finally above freezing as it is 34.

We are about 2 1/2 hours north of Austin. So, cold weather there but not like here. Looked at the forecast for us...highs in the 40's and 50's, lows in the 30's, maybe 20's, and possible snow late next week.

stronghunter said...

The garland has gotten into the blog.

Lolly said...

We had loads of fun yesterday. The boys were wild. The three get all wound up!! We had Christmas again. Michael and Ashley gave Jack and me an ipad. More fun! Learning how to use it and loading apps. They also gave up cards to purchase apps. They do well and were very generous with their Christmas.

After Ellis East left for home in Dallas, Ellis West and the Fritz Family played yet another round of Trivial Pursuit. We (the adults)were up to 2 AM playing that stupid game. It would not end!

Anyway, they have all departed. I have today to get the house back in order, gather my wits and recover. Then tomorrow we head to Denton to resume THE MOVE!!

Oh, no...the garland!!! Someone catch it!!!

Sorta at loose ends. Everyone is gone....what to do now? I am still going and not sure how to relax. Think I will just stick my nose in a book. Have been doing laundry...sheets, towels, etc. Jack vacuumed...bless him!

Lolly said...

Laurel did call...ice on bridges and under bridges on the way home. Road got slushy closer to their home. Discovered they had had approx 3 inches of snow, so no work out of the boys. They were out in the snow. Very glad they go that! Would have been pretty here but I worry about roads!!!

Lolly said...

We are having leftovers tonight...turkey and the works!

Sent some ham home with Laurel, so she was going to fix mac and cheese to go with the ham.

stronghunter said...

I bought two smallish turkeys at Thanksgiving. We had one then and the other at Christmas, and there were not many leftovers.

They had a good sale on rib roasts when I shopped on Christmas Eve, so I picked up one and have been thinking for some time about enjoying it.

Hoda said...

I most certainly see the Green Garland on the blog!!! I am afraid NELSON CITY POLICE have their hands full chasing revellers and party goers. Some think New Year Celebrations have already started!!!

LOL!!!

Do we dare call on the RCMP it must be a federal jurisdiction for them to be involved...

Just down the block a way from me, next to the orange bridge and the lake...Osprey nest right infront of the detachment. Maybe I will ask the Osprey to ask their Eagle Cousins to keep a look out for the wayward garland...from what I see it is disguised in the shape of a woman with long flowing hair? Is that right SHIRLEY?

Hoda said...

Well I am having such a hard time getting the bank and the Kootenay co-op to debit my chequing account of $56.07. It was my food bill for the last week in September and it is not coming through...not on my bank statement and not on theirs either at the bank. So it is the co-op that must claim it and they show the expenditure on one section but they do not see it come through on the other...what to do??? All you accountants out there what should I do now???

Hoda said...

Meals sound awesome on the blog and SHIRLEY I am glad not much left from the Turkey that means they enjoyed their meals.

So funny some of the revellers the police were chasing in Nelson got stuck in a snow bank and when the police caught up to them they threw snow balls at them. Now they are charged and have to appear in court...they were not above the legal limit to drive...just stupid and loud!!! The judge will not be amused I am sure!!! Throwing snow balls at the police is not a good idea even in stoned layed back Nelson!!! LOL!!!

Hoda said...

Costume Lady said...

HODA, I do the same thing...shut down the whole system for about 30 minutes. GENTLEMAN JIM from California told me that, once, and it usually works! Hoda, I believe it is a Federal offense for the revelers to throw snow balls to distract the police -- an obvious ploy to allow the garland's escape during all the confusion. paula eagleholic said...

Hoda, did you use a debit card for the transaction? If you did, then have the coop check for the transaction on that day with their processor. They will have to be the ones to get it fixed.

Shirley, I am still enjoying my rib roast! Hot roast beef sandwiches are next on the menu from the leftovers.

Lolly, glad the boys got to enjoy the snow!

FLY GARLAND FLY!!

Glo, so sorry about the Director. Very hard decision to make.

paula eagleholic said...

I am LOL, Nick is eating icy snow out on the deck!

Hoda said...

Yes PAULA I used a debit card. They found the transaction on the first set of papers and they had to dig deeper to find out why it has not gone through my bank account...It has been a couple of weeks and I do not know if they will be able to do it in 2013...I feel like going there and giving them the amount in cash and get it over with...something is not right! Thank you I will go talk to their accountant tomorrow...the bank says they can not do anything about it...I know a bank manager who sits on the co-op board and who works at another bank, not mine, maybe he can do something to help.

Judy reminded me that folks on facebook probably don't know that she knows a star :-) TV interview from LeClaire IA So I brought my fun experience at LeClaire over here to share with all of you.

Thank you all for your kind thoughts and expressions re the loss of Ron. I think for those who knew and worked with him and hoped to throw him a retirement party while searching for a new director it is indeed kind of a shocking loss and is going to take a while to even really sink in. Parts of it do not seem real to me and i am not close friend or family.

Lots of news on here this evening. Hubby and I h ad gone out to eat dinner.

From the looks of the snow - I don't see any Eagle Prints. They need to get in there and scratch it up! New grass will probably be brought in to cover the snow. Like everyone else I keep checking for the cam - very happy to see that Royal Palace.

I am closing down for the evening - so happy to see our stars ♥
Good night and may there be AOYP

A woman with long flowing hair, Hoda? That is a new one. Hmm, I don't know. Green hair?

Too late for me to pursue this now.

Nelson sounds like an interesting place, Hoda.

You may have to enlarge this picture to see the garland. It looks to me like the same little girl that Wanda saw with the garland a couple of years or so ago.

Good morning. No one is up yet? I know Bev is up on FB, she is always up early :)

WOW thanks JudyE for the alert that the still cam is back up. I wonder how that happened. Did it come back on it's own or did someone at NCTC do something to get it back online. I wonder too, when we will have the live cam.

Another day of vacation. No plans...
Does anyone have New Year's eve plans? We (Monte and I) are so boring. We probably won't do anything. I'll be lucky if I even stay up to see the new year in.

I might take my tree down today, or at least by Sunday, if I don't it will be up until Easter.

We are supposed to have snow again tonight into tomorrow morning! WOW! I'm surprised we are getting this much.

Sandi said...

Good chilly Friday morning Dana, Margy, and all my eagle friends!

Judy, great catch on the still cam - I hadn't bothered to check it at all since getting home from Baltimore.

Glo, sorry to hear about your friend Ron. You're so right that we never know how much time we have left so it's important to let the folks you love know every day that you love them.

Happy 4th anniversary Lynne and Steve!! Symbols for year 4 are fruit and flowers. Lynne, I doubt that Steve will be able to get out to the store to buy you either of those so why not buy your own flowers for your anniversary day??

Glad to hear more good news about little Isaac yesterday.

Jo, how is Michael doing?

Dana, how was your dad's appointment - was it a CT scan? Any news?

Lori, special prayers for your Dad (and you and your mom) that today's appointment gives you all some answers and the cancer hasn't spread and is treatable.

Looks like I will be heading to the vet today. Lynnis put all 3 weiner dogs up on the sofa (she and Brian have 2 black and tan long hair brothers) and, when she sat down, Bella got underneath her and Lynnis sat on her. I was at the store so did not see it but Lynnis said she really yelped. Yesterday she could barely walk and seems no better this morning. With the holiday weekend coming up, I'd rather get her seen today than have to go to an emergency vet place. So I'll be calling the vet as soon as they open. Say a prayer for my little Bella that nothing is broken or seriously wrong.

Make it a great day! Cam picture keeps going black and then coming back on so who knows what's going on over there.

DanaMo said...

Poor Bella, Poor Lynnis, I'm sure she feels really bad! I agree about getting in today. I've done those emergency room visits! LOL!

No word yet on Dad. He had an MRI yesterday. My doc friend who is a radiologist is off this week but said he would try to look at it and get me more information. We really don't expect to see or find anything different than what we already know. It's just the doc in Baltimore wanted an MRI. He already has had a CT after the 3 cycles of chemo. now he has had a 4th so we could actually see more reduction. I don't think we will see any spread.

Lori-Prayers for your Dad today. I hope that the cancer is treatable and hasn't spread. I'm right there with you my friend. Scary stuff!!

Wish we lived closer Sandi. I haven't played tennis in years, but wish I could play right now. Trying to lost 15 lbs before Adam's graduation. The more I do the better. Speaking of which...time to hit the treadmill...

Oh and what do you think about teachers arming themselves?

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Good morning my eagle budlets.

Do you all remember Scott Turnmeyer? I think he came to the nest and took pics at one time. He is a photographer. Well, he gets to be on the sidelines at the Redskins/Cowchips game with camera in hand. He is so excited and I am excited for him!

Lori O. said...

Good Morning DanaMo and all the Eagle Family!

GLO, so sorry about your friend and Exec. Director. Prayers for his family. This is such a tough time of year to go through losing someone.

JUDY, you're a STAR!

I'm so happy the cam is back up...just waiting for daybreak to see if the eagles show up.

DANAMo, how did your Dad's MRI go?

My Dad has a CT Scan this morning, so we'll go to the hospital for that about 9:30.

Lots of snow here, 6" the other night...planning on leaving for home tomorrow, but with up to 4" of snow coming and 1 - 3 here, not sure it'll be a good day or traveling.

Prayers for DanaMo's Dad, Sandi's Mom, GLO's MIL, Thelma's BIL, Ann-Marie, JO, baby Isaac and Michael!

I don't have a tree up here

Loved watching the Train fans video with Shar and Mattie, and also the interview with Glo!

Sandi said...

Back from the vet with Bella - no major injury! Spine is OK, though she still has a bulging disc (which she has had since she injured her back a year ago jumping off the sofa); no nerve damage. The vet thinks she has a bruised or pulled muscle in her hindquarter so she's on an anti-inflammatory and a muscle relaxer. Need to carry her up and down the stairs for the next 2 weeks and limit her movement (not in a crate but confined to one room).

In addition, she needed her anal glands expressed, needed a nail trim, and it turns out that both ears are infected, so she's also on Mometamax for the next 14 days. Won't even tell ya what the bill came to - geez, in my next life I want to be a veterinarian, not a teacher!!

Happy Friday to all!!! My last day to work this year! yipppers

Happy Anniversary to Lynne and Steve!

I agree with Margie, if only we could each take a "wait day" to get the answers we seek.

Hope everyone is healthy and/or healing and can begin the New Year with a nice fresh start. Warm, healing thoughts to all those who are in need.

I had a wonderful Christmas at my daughter's home and mother was happy to be there with all the festivities. We cooked, we ate, and then we did it again... and again... hahahaha

Headed south tomorrow and have been watching the weather. Charleston is good and my destination of TN is good... it's the part in between where Sharon and Bev live that gives me pause. Thinking if I travel Saturday and Wednesday, I won't have any problems.

I see we have a black screen Friday :-(

I'm going to jump off of here and back to work. If I'm not back on HERE before, everyone please have a safe and happy New Year.

WV sUSAn said...

Good grief, Sandi, darn good thing ya got Bella in to see the vet. Bless her heart, she has all kinds of stuff going on!

glo said...

Been sacked on the couch most of the day. Feel some better maybe :-) but no real plans for much the rest of today. More napping and light supper. Chilling a little now which I don't like as I have some important plans for a friend tomorrow. I so hope i can follow through. Sandi I am glad you got Bella in to see the Vet. I know about those bills too but well you do what you got to do when you love "someone". I am quiet today BUT I did not forget to pray. Thanks for the CT and Dr visit date MeMa Jo. I would happily take some of those days away from your wait time. Have a good evening all.

Good late afternoon.

Lazy day. Lunch with a former student. Fun to catch up.

Happy Anniversary to Lynne and Steve. May the New Year bring blessings and good fortune to you both.

Now to think of what to do for dinner. Not really hungry and a bit weary of leftovers. Maybe breakfast for dinner? Hmmm.

Oh, saw a news bulletin that the Nelson, B.C. RCMP is hot on the trail of a shiny green garland. Something about bringing Rin Tin tin out of retirement.

Bye

Rin Tin Tin out of retirement??? NAH our RCMP chaps are cool and they will sure be able to ski or snowboard their way to locating said missing item...not a cruiser in town today and we were all laughing that they all must have headed on up the hill for some powder!!! It is OK we behaved ourselves in town and people were cheerful with their Happy New Year Wishes and hugs.

Went to the optometrist today and it went well...traces of cataract is showing and yet macral degeneration is holding its own. Beatuiful art work on the wall. I took some pictures and will post on FB.

I will check back in again in June...he thinks cataract surgery is no big deal and that I have a good ten years before it becomes an issue...

JO what is happening on the 9th of January. Your post said CT and results on the 24th of January yet the 9th keeps coming up for me as being a date for you...am I confused and it is MICHAEL?

Be careful all you drivers out there. Our Chelsea leader came back from Albany yesterday. All her family is there. Her brother called today and said their Mom fell on the basement steps~~probably has broken hip and wrist!Unbelievable.Kathy's sister was there when it happened---she stayed home from work w/gallbladder attack & father has a touch of Alzheimer's.
