Sounds like I spoiled Kay's news. I assumed she had emailed a bunch of folks on the blog but I guess she just emailed me since I have been asking about whether or not she got a dog. here's what her email said:
Julie called this afternoon to say she'd spotted a new Shelter dog on line that fit all my criteria--age 6, weight 14#'s, housebroken. We buzzed right over and were delighted to find she'd not been snapped up by someone else. Within about 40 minutes, after the paperwork and the installation of a "gps" micro-chip, plus my payment (she was even half-priced due to age) we were on our way. She has been so good ! She's eaten, played ball, refrained from begging as we ate dinner, in short, so far, so good. Julie, Hugh and Seth came over for dinner---they actually brought it all----Hugh's beef stew, homemade biscuits and salad. Penny found all them quite acceptable. Julie and I will introduce Penny and Malcolm tomorrow. She's been in a house with a couple of other dogs, but he hasn't had to share our affections so it may take him a little time to to adjust. How did what appears to be a full blood doxie end up in the Shelter ? She has shown signs of disliking toddlers and her "mommy" is pregnant so she had to go. We have no toddlers in the family and I've not, in five years, had one in this house, so we think we're okay on that. Anyway, I promised I'd let you know when my search paid off, so meet my shiny copper penny toned pet and wish me well. Don't I already sound just plain goofy, the way so many dog and cat owners do ? ☺ Kay
I just love the Penny-Kay news! Now that's a little Lynn-intervention if there ever was one ! ♥
And am loving the thought of Michael returning to his Mom-Dad Roost today - they might want to get a "guest book" for the legions of visitors to sign !
LOL, LOL... Now which is it: an invisible Dachshund or an invisible Chihuahua that KAY has adopted?;)
It is 47° and raining thunder, here in Nestville.
Headed to church to hang up 5 garbage bags of clothes and several boxes of toys. Hope there are some toiletries and coats in them...some of our people don't smell very good:) Bless their hearts, some really can't help it...where do you clean up if you are homeless? Maybe we could build some showers onto the church. OMG, Pastor Eddie would have a fit..."Wanda, what next, you are NEVER satisfied!" I love to get him riled up;)
I just read Sharon or was it Bev's comments on Baby Isaac...what a way to start out our week. Isaac is well enough to be cruising through the halls of the hospital. THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!!
And Michael is coming home today...God is good ALL THE TIME!
Oh, Margy...I will get a photo of my CHARLIE BROWN CACTUS TREE on here, soon, if I don't forget...busy today and SK tomorrow. It is so SILLY, but it makes me and the Capt. laugh!
GLO: this means for YOU TOO, please, maybe think about a doctor's visit...might be something that would help... these are important days coming up for you, my dear....
Yes, we do need a picture of Wanda's "tree"! Guess I will always put up a tree.
Annie is home! She seems to think I can not pet her enough and she is purring up a storm. They said she ate like a pig, so I think she does well at the vets. That is good!
Hi ya, Margy! Yes, it was fun to be with sister and brother! It is unfortunate we live so far apart, but in some ways it is good I am not near my brother. I love him dearly, he has a heart of gold, BUT our personalities are certainly NOT the same. He is loud, impusive and irritates me a lot! He loves his dogs...guess that is a good thing about him!
