Okay----that sounds yummy, based on the recipe I found! Sounds a lot like our Shepherd's pie, just in a crust! I saved the recipe----gonna fix it!
Sorry I am posting so late this evening. Hoping everyone had a good day today.
Dennis continues to feel well and is bored in the hospital. That must be a good sign. They are continuing the monitoring, but not much else.
I hope he will have some more news from the echocardiogram tomorrow morning and I asked Dennis to ask the doctor about specific weight limits. Taking it easy for Dennis isn't the same as other people taking it easy. He is so strong and is constantly lifting heavy things. I just don't want him to overdo it by bring wheel barrow fulls of wood to the house or something like that, that he doesn't think is exerting himself too much. He said he would and agreed it was a good idea.
Went to work today and took care of that obligation for the week so I can be ready to bring Dennis home, if he is released! I brought Riley with me and he did good.
Thanks for your concern about my headaches. I am sure it is stress and fatigue. I've had worse spells!
I'm just praying Dennis gets to come home tomorrow, if it is safe to do so!
Judy, have a great trip. Travel safely and have fun. We certainly have!
More than anything I want you to see the nest. It really gives one a thrill to stand there and see THE nest.

Linda, good report on Dennis. Jack was asking questions tonight. Does Dennis smoke? Hope not! And, I told Jack I did not think he was over weight. Also, Jack said that a wheelbarrow full of wood is not heavy. So, be specific when you ask the doctor what he can do.
Linda, sounds like a good report on Dennis, and glad Riley did well...and yes the Dr is going to tell him to take it easy for awhile!

Linda, the drs. used to say no work involving vibrating hand tools (chain saws, etc.). Don't know whether there is still a restriction in that regard or not.

LYNN they have only gotten flooded once but Terry built a nice stone retention wall around the house so it won't go under the house He got all the rocks and stones locally and it is so pretty I have a video of his yard and I can't find it but I will take more when I am there he has the side set up with a bridge he made out of Hemlocks and the stairs going to the river is made from them also he has a dry river bed coming of his drive way for the rain water They have had issue of the land in front of them and the road try to wash away they are constantly tweaking the drains they have a French drain but I think it collapsed so they are always watching and redesigning the drains they have made from the road way they are both pretty good on things like that They house is nice I will again take pic and video naturally when I am there I borrowed Angies nice camera we traded I have a great daughter I am going to miss Jordyn so much I hope she will be ok she get so excited on Wed nite when she goes to her calendar Angie made and yells yippee oma omas all the time I am sitting here weeping silly huh Ok I think they pm is starting to work I will see you wonderful people in the am I am heading to bed Love all of you

Lolly - to answer your question... Dennis is 6'2" 245lbs. He should be 20-25lbs less, but he is a BIG guy with huge arms (even forearms) and legs. He's so muscular, whereas he has a brother who is just as tall but very small boned and almost has bird lets. Just very different builds. The doctor said he wasn't overweight.
He was a cop for 35 years before retiring and they say the average age for cops is 58 because of the stress on the job. Although I am sure he was under a lot of stress, at home he is a gentle soul and a quiet man.
He did smoke for probably 35-40 years and stopped 5-7 years ago when he got bladder cancer, which is directly linked to smoking.
So even though he is healthy now, he has things in his life that have contributed to this event.
His blood pressure has been higher in the past 3 years and he just started on cholesterol medication about 3 months ago. He will be 57 next week.
Something happened 3 years ago, which he can't describe, but he hasn't felt the same since. Hopefully this will be his one and only attack and he will be back to feeling like he used to over 3 years ago!
That was probably more than you wanted to hear.....
It is a rough life JUDYE but somone has to live it, nice spot you are going to visit.
Lynn - Thanks for the info on vibrating tools. Dennis is in the process of framing and putting up drywall up in the basement and uses the chain saw to cut the wood before he splits it.

Talked to Jay, our granddaughter, a little while ago. She has had a really nice Birthday. She found out that her other grandpa, Don, is doing much better today! Thank you all for your prayers for him!
We are hoping he will be well enough to have a short visit from us soon. Lynn, to answer your question,I think Don is about 63 years old.
May DENNIS have a long and healthy life. You both are living right LINDA and healing will happen...God's Light be with you always...Thanks for writing DENNIS' story.

I do trust God in His plan for our lives. I was just listening to a message that reminded us we have to be faith filled for God to be faithful to us. If we don't trust Him, he can't do His work in our lives.
That is so true. I find that when I really do trust Him, the result is far better than I ever could have done it without HIM!! I know that to be true, but to actually experience it is a whole other story!

LYNN - He just started feeling weak, dizzy and without energy. He did get checked out and his blood pressure was a little high. He saw a cardiologist, had some tests and they said he looked good.
They started him on meds (lisinopril 10mg) back then and about 4 months later his pressure went back to normal and he stopped taking the meds.
Then he started having the dizzy faint spells again and went back to the doctor and was put back on the BP meds. When he gets one of those spells, he breaks out in a sweat, feels light headed and dizzy. We probably should have gone to the hospital every time he had those, but he IS A MAN!!
After a couple incidents, he did seek medical attention, but they always said he was fine.
The doctor said what probably happened Monday was a soft piece of plaque broke lose and the body as a natural protection mechanism formed a clot and that caused the blockage.
So much for a protection mechanism! The cardiologist said with his recent tests and the fact that he is otherwise strong and healthy, it is a bit puzzling why this happened - other than the risk factors from years past. Who knows??

P.S. Linda----the old saying I think still holds: BP medicine is for life, literally and figuratively. Don't let Dennis ever stop taking it again unless the Dr. says to!

Raining out now, again, and all 8 cats are in the house! Normally there's only 3, Parker, Burry and Briar, are in the house, but at the moment I still have the three foster kittens, and Freddy & Batman have decided to come in since it's raining. The latter two prefer a quieter, less chaotic environment (like their mother!).
I am up because Flash is restless. He has been coming to the top of the stairs and crying and crying. Both Kathryn and I have been down to check on him, and I have let him out twice.
He is now settled into his bed, but keeps looking around. I think he wants me to be down here, although he would probably like to have the recliner for himself.
There is a rumbling thunderstorm in the distance and occasional flashes of lightning, though I think it is moving away. Maybe that was what was bothering Flash.
Lori, eight cats in the house? My goodness. I did not know you had that many. I am sure they are happy to have a dry, safe place tonight.

Judy, I think you will find Internet at most hotels. We had it at the Econo Lodge, and it was a pretty basic place. I did have to enter a password, but they told me what it was when I called the office--"econolodge."

It's called Reading Materials...we are giving presentations right now on different reading genres. Mine last night was on Picture books. Thank God that's over, one more presentation. It's not as bad as the Religion class I had on Monday though and I have 2 papers to write for that one!
Congrats on the completed presentation, DANAMO. Bet you're glad that's over. Are the classes for CE credits, or you just want to take them? Inquisitive aren't I? :)
CE credits, although the classes have been really good and I have been able to use the information in the classroom, so I do enjoy them! I think I will be one of those people who just keep taking classes! :) I have one more that I am required to take. When my certificate transferred to Maryland, they decided that my reading classes weren't adequate enough, and I have several people in my class who are in the same boat. Maryland thinks they are so great! Poosha:P

Dennis is coming home today!!
I'm so thrilled. I have to get moving and feed the animals, put out the feeders and bring him some clothes so I can be there when they get him processed. Hopefully it won't take ALL day, but whenever it is we will be thankful!
Doctor said no lifting over 20lbs, so we have something to go by.

You all josh, but MOUSE finger is not funny!!!! When we first started using a computerized medical record program at GM, it was SO unuser friendly that I was making over 700 mouse-clicks in an 8 hr. shift. Yep, I counted because I KNEW that was what was causing my pain. I ended up with an awful tenoditis in my index finger from it!!
Repetitive motion!!! Ridiculous!

My chore for this rainy day is to design and print the invitation for our retirees Christmas luncheon. Another member already labeled and stamped the envelopes. Planning on letting the beach gang help me stuff the envelopes so they can be in the mail by the end of the month! Hoping I don't run out of printer ink!!!

GRRRR! three days in a row I'm gonna be tied up with it: Pet Day at Walgreen's Sat., regular monthly meeting Sunday, and now this Emergency Management meeting. Plus had the one on Tues. 4 in less than a week is getting to be too much. Can't wait for vacation!

Don't know if there is any truth to this or not, but a friend of Carolyn's says that a student OD'd on something on a school bus this AM and died. How tragic is that? Prayers for his/her soul and family.
