I brought this over from old thread:

I wish someone could
just hold me for right
now. I am crying...I feel
so badly for the lady across the
street from me. Her daughter is
in grade school.I heard these
terrible, horrible screams and
looked out the door. To see it was
the girl screaming and crying
at her Mom. This I have seen
happen before even at her Dad.

Parents have tried everything.
Doctors have girl on Bipolar meds
and parents are even paying for
her to go to a Christian school
now. Public said they, "can't
handle the girl".

So her Mom is taking her to the
doctors. The girl has already had
time a Brooklane Psychiatric
Center. Parents went through
counseling with daughter.

wvgal_dana said...

Margy I believe she is 10 years old.

Everyone morning to go to school her mother has a terrible time. Normally I don't hear it.

There have been a few times the girl has done this horrible screaming outside and I heard it like today.

Tears are just rolling down my cheeks.

This is the Day the Lord has made, and here in the Eastern Panhandle of West by God Virginia, it is a Beauteous One !

It's also The First Day of the Rest of our Lives ☺

DanaWV
there's a combination out there somewhere for this little girl, could be medication, diet, compassionate counseling...
Prayers for the family, and the health care team
and (( Hugs ♥ )) for them, and you too

Good Morning Friends - Beautiful again today. Dana a child's crys and screams are so disturbing to hear! Not a good way to start your day. Praying that someone or something can reach her and her parents so that happiness and love can take over.

I have not read back on the older thread

Good morning! Lazy start here this morning.

Happy to see a new thread, thank you, Steve. Now to read back!

Lolly said...

Oh, Lori, I know you are excited! I was so excited my first time to meet everyone and I think even more excited the second time!!! This is such a special group! And, I feel so jealous, but happy at the same time when you are able to get together. Have fun! Take lots of pictures....then share, please!

magpie said...

Us, Take Pictures ??
Ya' think, Lolly ? You can bet your bippy !
I think I will be going also, just have to figure one thing out

Have a great day, Love it! Pumpkin Pie for Joseph's Birthday cake !

DanaMo said...

OMGosh it is so heart wrenching when a child is in so much pain as this child obviously is mentally. Hopefully they will find someone out there who can help them deal with this situation. Praying for the girl and her family today. Brooklane is a great facility I wonder why she is still not there, perhaps they can get outpatient although I guess that would be a drive for you. I'm not sure a private school is any better at handling such a situation. Mostof us don't have specialized people to help a child like that, the public school on the other hand really should be able to get services for the girl.

magpie said...

Thanks for the Lefty info,
Andrea

and love the joke from Hoda, and Shirley's ironing board cover tale...and
the other tale about the toilet paper !

I have to go slaughter the checking account

Lolly said...

Oh, Margy, I am so excited that you will be able to go, too! Just imagine me there...hugs for all. And, in honor of this occasion, a week from today, I have changed my avatar!

Lolly said...

Just who all is going to be able to go? I do think we are really missing the Open House.

wvgal_dana said...

Maargy you have helped to put a SMILE on my face. When I read your comment "That you might be going to the Oct. 24th NCTC". Whatever the one thing is call me and tell me what it is. I will provie the way out of it so you can go!!!!

Thanks too DanaMo yes they have done and I think still doing. Outpatient counseling at Brooklane.

Well, for some reason, I thought the nest visit was today. Hmmm. Good morning my lovely eagle budlets!

wvgal_dana said...

no a link Does anyone know of any place in Martinsburg, Maryland, Pennsylvania that you can get for front of car a vanity plate with maybe something written on it. The guy use to be at the Martinsburg Mall. He left there and went to Meadow Lane Plaza from there RETIRED.

Lolly said...

Good morning, Sharon!

Lolly said...

Congratulations...on the no ciggies, three years, right? Just think how much this will help you health wise and appearance wise!!!

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

I know Lolly but this has been 3 hard years. It is easier to stay clean than to not smoke.

Lolly said...

Well, I am glad I never had that problem. While in college they were passing out cigs. I tried one or two...and thought why???? This is not for me!!!! And, now you hear all the problems plus facial wrinkles and I am so happy I made that decision.

Lolly said...

Jack never smoked, either. Both of our fathers did, but when they started talking about it being bad for you, both went to the pipe and then gave that up.

Mema Jo said...

Owl Alert - all alone right now. Little
head is bobbing up and down. Cute as
anything........... ♥

Lolly said...

That was interesting...never had it happen before. When I posted the last comment, all the avatars came back. Hmmmmm????

Hi Jo! Need to go check out the little owlets.

Lolly said...

That pot makes for nice crib rails!

Mema Jo said...

t has been 5 yrs for me to be smoke-free. With the help of Chantix, a lung scare and a wonderful support group I made it! I still think about it but can quickly erase it from my mind. Good work, Sharon ♥

We need to pray for Lynne to 'kick it'
Then we may work on Paula.... Truth is that you MUST have your own reasons for quitting. Addition to cigs is powerful! Good luck and steady perseverance to all.

Mema Jo said...

Owlets - you think Momma told him to stay in that corner? You can see the
unhatched egg by the stem of the plant.
I saw the owlett on the left look up - I was fearful something was wrong.

Lolly said...

Yes, Jo....he must be being punished! LOL "Put your nose in the corner right now!" But, he keeps trying to get away!LOL

Lolly said...

As much as I would like to continue sitting here blogging and watching the owls, I really need to get a move on! My first day to be really lazy and I have so much to do!

Have a great day!

and Loretta (NatureNut) and her fubby, and DanaWV will be there too Hoda!

Hi all, just popping in before I have to run out!

Jim, such a heat wave!

Hoda, zombies are a new "old" fad these days. Every so often they become popular. Not really my thing, but I watch an episode with Steve last season and hooked, no so much because it's zombies but more because it's about survival of a few in a world where few survived, and the enemy in this case is zombies. They are dead, but walking, and feed on humans and other flesh. Only way to kill them is to stab or shoot them in the brain. If you get bitten by one, you die. Then you become a zombie too. I missed the first ever episode but I think it was some kind of virus that caused it.

Kay said...

Here I am just walking in "the door" when everyone else is going out !

HODA, enjoyed your joke of the day as well as the interesting and little known Van Gogh facts !

SHIRLEY, LOL the ironing board cover---he must have thought you were trying to buy something to disguise the ironing board !

Thinking of KATE and JO as they see docs and have tests. Hope both of you get the Aok signal.

Sounds like there will be plenty of cameras on hand at NCTC next Monday. So happy there are so many of you who can welcome JUDY and acquaint her with the nest, etc.. It will be an exciting day even for those of us who must be satisfied with living through it vicariously !

Gorgeous day here, 65 and sunny--the only good day expected for a while. Taking advantage of it with a trip to CVS, Target and Kroger. BBL and HAGD !

stronghunter said...

Good afternoon,

I slept in big time after Hunter got on the bus. I was so sleepy. I took some benadryl when I got up in the middle of the night, but still did not fall asleep until nearly time to get up.

So sorry to read of the problems for the family across the street, DanaWV. Prayers for them.

Have read a couple of references to Steve's being ill, but I missed the original comment, so I don't know what is wrong. Hope he is better now.

Yes, DanaMo, public schools usually have more facilities for troubled children, at least that is what I have heard. I hope they do find a solution for this child.

Lynne2 said...

come back to the NEW thread Sharon!! LOL! She just posted on the old thread that she messaged JudyE's daughter. But, we knew we were not going to hear from her though, right?

Kate has to have a colonoscopy and an esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD), Lynne. In other words, they're going to look at her colon and esophagus.

Yeah, I looked it up and and did a copy and paste. I just had the esophagus one. When I saw the word on my paperwork, I asked the nurse if she could pronounce it. She did. I was impressed. I can see why they call it an EGD.

Prayers for Kate. I hope it is all just routine stuff. She has had her share of medical issues already.

Hoda said...

Yes no interntet where JUDYE is visiting...Yes it was STEVE'S post that let us know he was sick. I hope he is better by now though...

I am off to yoga and errands and then have to write a story for my autobiography writing group. We meet tomorrow so I have not left it much time...I hope something comes to mind. Once I write I feel very good about it...it is to start to write that makes me a bit worried...anxious actually...

Wow, what a beautiful day today!

Good Afternoon Eagle Family!

We had a nice visit from one of our friends this morning that lasted until just an hour or so ago! It was good for Dennis' spirits and it was a fun visit!

HODA - Just loved the grocery store story. I read it to Dennis and he would have brought back one carton of milk and 6 eggs! And yes, I had to go back and read it again!

SHIRLEY - I am glad you were able to get a new ironing board cover back in those days!! LOL

Lynn - Sorry you had to get up so early and hoping you're okay!

MARGY - You seem in wonderful spirits this fine Monday. Yes indeed, a Word from the Good Book will start your day in the best way possible!

SHARON - Glad you figured out what day this isn't!!

KAY - Hope you're feeling okay and not overdoing it!

WVDANA - Praying for your neighbor's daughter and her parents that they find a solution to her condition. I am sure something like has emotions running high.

LORI - Praying that Kate does okay through her tests today. Doesn't sound fun. Anything new or is this routine?

I sure would love to make the drive down next Monday, but just don't think I can leave Dennis yet. I'd worry like crazy. It should be a wonderful time!

hedgie said...

Downed wood is getting cut, split and stacked under the deck. If the chimney man ever comes, I'll be ready for fires after return from the beach!

hedgie said...

DanaWV, sorry about your little neighbor. I have one old work pal who is bipolar and has been since he was a child. It's a difficult situation....and I call his wife an Angel.

I think that Kate's tests today are follow-ups to what she went through a couple of months ago.

Kay said...

LINDA, s'wonderful that you had some company---good for both of you ! I don't think I'm overdoing though hitting 3 stores as I did today is certainly plenty. I use the carts for a walker and that helps. Thanks for your continueing concern. ♥♥♥ You and I, and hopefully all within a 6 or 8 hour radius, will just have to get to the nest in April ! I'm going to do everything I can think of to stay healthy toward that goal. We can hope some Momster's beyond that easy driving distance will join us, too, of course ! I do SO want to meet n' hug you all !

Linda said...

Yes, KAY, that sounds great.

April is a tough month for me but I am going to move mountains and get clients off their @#$ to be sure everything is done and my calendar is clear!!

Linda said...

KAY - I am glad you're taking it easy. You've been through too much to backslide! I know you're a smart lady and know your limits! ♥♥♥

DanaMo said...

I have had a nagging feeling all day that I am suppose to be doing something today, but I just can't figure out what it is...

Kay said...

DANAMO, I think I know what it is---it's called Relax, eat a good dinner and enjoy the evening !☺

hedgie said...

I found the soil all dsiturbed where I had planted my RED Hyacinths.....I suppose the squirrels or racconns.....don't know whether they got any bulbs or not....it wasn't disturbed 6" deep....so hopefully all is well.

magpie said...

DanaMo
Maybe you need to remind everyone in the household that this is the day National Boss's Day is Observed (think it was actually Sunday, but you know how it moves to the next day somtimes)
then prop your feet up and be waited on hand and foot !

Good Afternoon Eagle Pals...

Hoping that ALL the tests go well today, Jo's - Kate's - am I missing anyone ??

I went to Countryside Costumes today !
To deliver something for Soup Kitchen

Wanda looks terrific, what a hairdo!
And Gene, Captain Father Gene, also looks terrific

That shop! Is awesome, very many beautiful costumes, shoes, masks, accessories of all kinds, and the prices ROCK !!!

magpie said...

Kay
time to prop feet up and take it easy at YOUR ROOST too !
lots of doins' today for you, I see

The Captain put up the sign for the shop today, along the main road....

It's Nice! I still think I should see if they would let me dress up and hawk some business for them, and after seeing the "wares" - there are lots and lots of get-ups to do that with ☺

magpie said...

When I left Wanda and Gene's - a large sycamore branch had fallen off into the road, from a neighbor's a couple of doors down, I was able to move it off the road into the person's yard - he was standing at his doorway afterward, probably wondering what the heck I was doing, but it WAS HIS Tree afterall.
It was easy to move

hedgie said...

Charlie and Donald, Margy. They had taken down the dead trees early in the summer.

magpie said...

Wanda and I thought up another name to add to Father Captain Gene, but for the life of me, I cannot remember what it is !!!

the other Monarch that emerged yesterday flew off today...but he flew NORTH!! It was so windy and I thought he must be confused for sure. BUT.....a few minutes later I was up in the, uh, let's just call it the "nature watching" room and I saw it fly past the window heading south! I think that will be the last chrysalis to produce a monarch this season. I have 5 others out there, but they just don't look healthy at all.

magpie said...

OK so the Crow show was fantastic. Sorry I got the time all messed up but you can watch it on the PBS website.

Now hopefully this one is correct, it should be very interesting. This Wednesday, October 19 at 8/7c:
The historic nuclear accident at Chernobyl is now 25 years old. Filmmakers and scientists set out to document the lives of the packs of wolves and other wildlife thriving in the “dead zone” that still surrounds the remains of the reactor.

DanaMo said...

Oh yes, that's what it was, my vitamins :)

Lynne2 said...

Subby, oh wait, he can't be Subby...Kay's late hubby Stan is Subby. Steve will have to be Stubby instead. Anyway, he is working, and will hopefully be home soon. Furry Freeloaders are fine and staying out of trouble today so far. That can't be good....

DanaMo said...

How do you make that sunshine, smiley and heart on here. I know someone has a "key" on how you do that, but I've never been able to get it to work on my laptop. I heard someone say you need to put the number lk on so maybe if I had the code I could try it that way.

Judie said...

Hi Ya’ll:

Judie should be back with you soon.. if she holds up that long. Our computer router – which allows us access to the internet and somehow makes the wireless printer work – died. One of our newly acquired baby panthers may have had something to do with the router’s demise. I took it apart and found liquid inside. To me it smelled like urine. Judie is not so sure. One of the cats got sick and spit up on the desk top. That may have been the source of the liquid. Who knows. [The cat seems to be fine now.]
Poor Judie. With no printer and no access to the internet, she was really hurting. To print something, what we had to do was to convert her documents to the old style MS Word formats and place them on a floppy disc so that my old [1997, if not older] relic of a computer could load and read her documents. Then my printer did the rest. At times, it was like the Keystone cops around here. Add to this, I have been fighting an infection in my leg and spending some time with the doctors.

Getting the new router to work was also a fun exercise. The manufacturer, with tech support based in the Philippines, was little or no help – partly because I could barely understand who I was talking to. They said I need some additional information from my internet provider, VERIZON. So, off I went to them and ended up speaking to a young lady in India. After encouraging her to speak slowly and distinctly, we got along fine. It turns out she did an absolutely outstanding job and I let her supervisor know that. Not only did she get us reconnected to the internet, but she got our wireless printer working as well. So much for our tale of woe.

Judie is making supper, even as I type. I think its egg salad. Whatever, I am ready for it.
I hope you and yours are well, and Judie should be back with you soon.

DARTH aka Frank

An unexpected going out to tea after yoga. A woman from Dragon Boats came to yoga. Her name is Sandra. She lost her husband to Cancer, in late August. His name was Jeff. She is doing her best to adjust and I think she jsut wanted some company when she asked me if I was available to go for tea. We met another Yoga person there and her name is Margo. It turned out Margo is a hospice nurse from Holland originally. What is really curious is that once when Sandra was out running errands Margo did go to her house to tend to Jeff. Margo usually works out of Nelson, but this one time she worked with Jeff. It was a touching moment when this came out as Sandra had never met Margo before...I enjoyed my tea and we visited for an hour.

Lovely day here today and I am pleased to settle in to writing a story after my soup.

Glad LINDA and DENNIS had a visitor and that his spirits are up.I am glad he would have bought six eggs not six milk LINDA. LOL

Hurray for Darth!!! Not only filling us in and dealing with PEGGIES, but getting everything fixed for Judie to get her schoolwork done!! Take are of that leg, Darth!!

Hoda, good on oyu....nice mission of mercy for the lonely widow...and what a coincidence that Margo knew her Jeff.

Almost time for Jeopardy.....heading for the sofa for a little while. BB!

Wow, took me forever to catch up on the blog!

Darth scared us! Glad it is technical problems and not physical problems that has kept Judie away.

Linda, I have an idea! Let Dennis blog with us! LOL
We will take away his blues!☺ Glad you both had a great day!

Trailer is washed and at it's home. Worked in the yard a little. Took the car and had it washed and did some "grossery" shopping. Ran into a friend and did a lot of gabbing. So went my day!

Talked with Laurel. She has a stray teenage kitty that has adopted them. It is now known as PC for porch kitty. Like Laurel said, they can not afford their vet bills as they are, but she has to do something about this kitty. Kitty now has a towel to sleep on and she is feeding it. A very loving, sweet kitty that wants to come in. However, Izzabelle, will NOT allow that!! Laurel says that as soon as they get Bosco and Izzybelle to the vet, she will take PC. Can not have kitties!! She said she will continue to have a porch kitty, but does not know what they will do this winter. Oh, dear! She was warning me as we will be up there tomorrow.

Hello everyone!

Well, I have returned, a bit battered and worn out but functioning.

Darth did really well. He and Peggy are now good friends and he has her on is "like" list.

Seriously, it has been a very rough few days with no ability to keep up with posting assignments for students, printing my own lecture material, and keeping up with my blog family.

Visited my vascular doctor this afternoon. Good news is that the ultrasound tests show little change in the blockages and he says we can just leave well enough alone.

Hope everyone is doing well and that I didn't miss any major events. Will return a little later.

wvgal_dana said...

Wouldn't you know it took Darth to master the challegene some of us have had with Peggy.

Judie and Darth what is this about an infection in his leg...why?

Hoda life is always full of surprises. Like Margo knowing her Jeff.

Great report from the vascular guy! Keep up the good health.

Well I need to share my CT scan report with you fine, fowl friends. Not exactly what I was hoping for. Turns out I now have a small pancreatic tumor....probably cancerous. Dr. will be making arrangements for me to get in to Georgetown after I get back from the beach...surgical removal in all likelihood. It's small, I have no symptoms....he says probably no chemo or radiation if they remove it. MTBD, for sure. I'm hoping they can do the procedure with cyber knife or the Davinci robot!! Just please say an extra prayer for me. Thanks!!

Well, it was supposed to be the Rappahannock, but it has been postponed because our hostess has to go out of town for her work.

oh dear, sorry to hear of that Shirley, but thanks for the name...
beautiful name for that river,
am familiar with the name, but
I don't think I have ever been near it, but maybe I have crossed over it on a bridge somewhere along the line

magpie said...

just googled it Shirley, so I am pretty sure I have at least crossed it somewhere, saw some beautiful images on Google

Lolly said...

Lynn, you just left me speecless!! (((Hugs))) and prayers going your way! It does sounds like the doctor has a plan and certainly hope all goes well. When do you leave on your trip? Go and enjoy! Love you!

We have had a beautiful day! In just a couple hours a front is coming through and the temp is dropping fast. Wind and possible rain heading our way. More likely Laurel will get the rain...we shall see.

We are going to need to work on Kathryn's divorce issues, anyway. It has been a bit over a year now, and things are heating up in that department.

There is a threat of another delivery of Kathryn's things to the driveway sometime tomorrow. I will be unhappy if my car is trapped in the driveway when I have bowling and a lunch date.

No, I do not think that is going to happen. But, good grief, if you are going to bring stuff over here, at least do it when I can be here to open the garage.

She has made an appointment with her lawyer and she's going to have to finish all of the paperwork soon. Brings back painful memories. I hated doing that paperwork. . . annual budget, etc. How much do you spend on postage each year? On your pets? On groceries?

stronghunter said...

The Rappahannock passes right through Fredericksburg, Margy.

Back again.

Shirley, missed the CNN program on bullying. Will see if I can get a copy.

DanaWV, Darth's infection is localized and the doctors don't seem to know the reason for it. I suspect an insect bite as he was working in the yard and garden a day or two earlier.

Lynn, serious prayers for you even though I have no doubt you are going to be just fine. Well, at least you will be nearby me (and Darth) if we are needed. Try not to worry so you can enjoy your days at the beach. Hugs!

The past few days have worn me out and the sandperson has reminded me tomorrow is a teaching day. The night light is on for those who need to arise in the dark and for anyone coming in late from the West coast. I'll visit again tomorrow. Restful sleep for all.

I think I need to go wrap a birthday present for Joseph. Have Giants jacket to wrap. Not wrapping the basketball goal!!!

Have the ingredients to make his pumpkin pie. Going to make two. Laurel does not care for pumpkin pie, but found a new recipe I want to try. It is layered and the bottom layer is cheese cake and it is in a gramham cracker crust. Maybe she will like it..going to make the traditional pie for Joseph. Just feel like trying something new and it will be quite chilly tomorrow...a good time to bake.☺

Found the red maple leaf pic from a year or 2 ago. Tree is at Chelsea, it had rained and all the porch, deck, & grass was covered w/leaves!
See Red was here and got the same owl video I got!Sure is neat. Must be going around the country. Girl who sent it to me lives in Oregon!

Lynn Riner, you are in my prayers and I know you will be OK!!! ☺ ♥

Thank you all so very much for your loving thoughts. Hoda, don't know about classy!! It's just that when you've been a nurse for over 40 yrs., you gain a lot of perspective and probably some blase' approaches. SO many times I have said "there but for the Grace of God go I." But I have never said "why me?" Why NOT me??!! And so much better me than my girls, or my grands!

Shirley, feeling so bad for Kat. Why not move your car out of the garage as soon as Hunter gets on the bus, and pull it down to the end of the driveway?? I am at a bit of a loss to speak of Lynn's problem. I feel so very confident that she will have an excellent hospital and doctors looking after her, that it is almost a non-issue...but, when I went to tell Gene, I could barely speak for sobbing. I love Lynn like a sister and it saddens me that she even has to go through this ordeal. She will not be alone, we will all be with her every step of the way...in thought and prayer and, even in person if she wants!
I must tell you all, that a young woman in our church had the same thing as Lynn, but she has a massive tumor and was given 3 months to live. She even made arrangements for her funeral with our pastor. The Sunday before she went into the hospital, she was anointed and the congregation had a group prayer for her. She went through Chemo for many weeks, lost all her hair, her fingernails, vision was deteriorating and then, after all was done for her that could be done...she was pronounced CANCER FREE...not a trace of it anywhere! Doctors said it was a Miracle, but we know what it was, don't we? Praises!

OK, having written that account of my church friend, I feel much better. Love you Lynn and we are not signing off on you;) You will be around to go on many nest visits with us, for years to come♥

BTW, the young woman now has a full head of hair, about 2-3 inches long and she looks adorable. Her nails ar growing back, also.

News is almost over. Interesting tidbit, googled it but could not find an article. Anyway, today a car went in for repairs with a rt hawk embedded in the grill. They were dismantling the grill when they saw its' eye blink. They got it out. No broken bones, wing okay, but obviously stunned. Took it to a vet. He is treating it for a concussion and internal injuries. It looks good. Time will tell.

Storm went through. We had wind, we had rain....a whole 2 tenths of an inch. Oh well, it was wet! And, the temp is dropping!

Heading to the shower now. Busy day tomorrow...once again!

Lynn, special hugs and lots of love, and prayers going up for you tonight and the days to come!!!!

Good Tuesday Morning Eagle Family!

I echo Wanda's feelings about LYNN's health. You will be fine and we will be there for whatever you want or need. Not a problem, and of course, prayers, prayers, prayers. I just have such faith about it, Lynn! (((Big Hugs)))
Now, about your red hyacinth bulbs! Grrrrrr!

Wanda, you new do is absolutely gorgeous! Do you have any natural curl? I bet Warden/Capt/Father Gene can't keep his hands off you, still!

Margy - I hope you got all your things done yesterday. Not easy putting two days into one!

OH, KATE's tests went well. No polyps, and the doctor said he took a biopsy for some changes in her throat, sounds like Barrett's which I have, and he said where her esophogus meets her stomach is should be a smooth circular sort of connection and hers is all jagged. Hadn't seen one like that before but he said nothing to worry about, not everyone is text book. She is hoping that is the reason for the severe heart attack like pain a few months ago. She asked me to tell you thank you so much for prayers and your concern, so thank you!
