Excitement reigns ! I think we who won't be there tomorrow are almost as excited as the Lucky Nine !

JO, so glad you got out for a color tour ! Central Ohio is about two weeks away from the breathtaking Fall colors I love so much.

LORI, relieved to get some word on your dear Mom, Nancy. You need more answers, but it sounds like things are on the right track. Yes, had a great time with Seth--you ask about the menu--Taquitos, refried beans and all the usual stuff that goes with. Breakfast was biscuits, sausages, O.J., milk, grapes... Julie and Hugh brought Chipotle meals over about noon today--we do like Mexican food ! They helped with some little odd jobs before heading home. Sweet things that they are !

DANAMO, equally relieved to know your Dad is coming along okay. Glad he has you and your Mom, two spunky gals, to advocate for him ! Love the pics of AnneMarie---what a doll she is !

HODA, you are amazing ! Seems like you volunteer for one good cause or another 24/7 ! I am in awe !

No LOLLY yet today ? I'm worried that she is really way under the weather. Should look at the bright side and imagine she felt so good today that she made it to church and the auction as well ! Time will tell.

LYNNE, are you not feeling good today, or are you very busy---hope it's the latter. Also missing SHIRLEY as I read back a bit--must have have big plans with Kathryn again today---or is out spending th Bingo winnings.☺

Thinking of GG and her joyful household as everyone gathers for Family Night ! Hope all the Wright's have a right good time !

MARGY, can't wait to hear how you and the Kidster spent the day. So happy for both of you !

Kay said...

Looks like JUDYE and the other eight of you have some planning to do--will bow out and let you go at it, but will try to check back later so I can see what's up.♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

I am here! I am living! I continue to function. Went to church and after church we had the sandwich lunch and dessert auction. Raised a little over $1,500. Yea! My cake brought in $45. Guess I will go back to the cheesecake I have made for the last several years. It brought in over $100 last year.

I continue to cough and have lots of "gunk" in my head. I am taking Mucinex and ibuprofen. Do not feel the best in the world but I am functioning, like I said.

Lynne2 said...

I'm here Kay...trying to keep busy, lots to do around here. I feel like we are in disaster mode at the moment!

Lolly said...

Lynne, I do hope no new disaster has befallen on you and Steve. I think you have had enough!

Dad walked around the bed today! They said he is really doing well and will surely be on his feet for the renewal of his vows to mom! ☺ ☺ ☺ ☺ They changed his pain medication and he is allowed to walk to the bathroom with an aide! Yes! Very pleased with his progress and so fast!

And they are pretty strict about letting you through the gate. More on that, but I rather not post.

YEAY JUDYE is in W. Virginia...TOMORROW WILL BE A GREAY DAY.

Volunteering went very well. Marg was the woman who worked with me and she is a 15 year survivor.

We chatted and sold tickets on raffle tickets for a freezer and gave out information on Dragon Boats and Breast Cancer Awareness. It was very pleasant and there were many men who were supportive and donated. Time went fast and the conversation was good.

Gotta print out my phone list.
Weather up there says 61° for the high & tonight's low 40° Brr.

Glad you liked the Indian pics. I really didn't think they were going to be any good---it seemed crowded.Had to show Talon again. He usually comes to the Jug Bay 10K run at Park in Nov.

Well, I finally made it here today!!

Have been dealing with right ear pain for about 10 days now - no other symptoms, so it is a bit confusing.

Today it was pretty bad, so I called the clinic. They were able to see me at 10am, so I skipped church and went to the doc. No ear infection.....TMJ! What?? I was quite surprised.

Had some dear friends come over and bring in a bunch of wood to our wood room for Dennis. They stayed and visited afterwards.

A busy day......

Hoda said...

Good to read LYNN. Thanks for checking in sorry about your team.

JUDYE when you are in teh mountains cell phone reception is variable. Find a good area and make your calls from there. It makes a difference which part of the flat I am in as t how many bars I get...

Good luck to DARTH with laser surgery tomorrow. PRAYERS.

JudyE, so glad that you made it to Shepherdstown. I remember how excited I was the first time we went there. I will be thinking about you tomorrow.

Lynn, have an enjoyable and relaxing week.

Linda said...

I don't know much about TMJ, but I hope this isn't one of those "forever" things like arthritis!

Linda said...

I have another prayer list request....

Lil, my brother Billy's widow is in WV with her 90 year old Mom who is failing rather quickly. The doctor said she doesn't have long.

They are giving her lasix for heart and kidney failure to try and help keep the fluids from building up.

Her Mom is home, but we don't know how long she will hang on. I just feel so badly for Lil, since it has been not quite three months since she lost my brother (her husband). Now she is facing another major loss in her life. She is very close to and adores her Mom.

Please keep Lil and her Mom in your prayers. Thanks! ♥

Trying now to get all my nest directions and cell phone numbers printed out since I will be coming straight from work. I'm so excited. I do have my camera sitting right by the door (no tripod) ready to grab as I leave for work and the car is packed.

MOM called last night, very happy and said, I might get to go home tomorrow (Monday), that is if she continues to have no pain and can eat solid, but no raw food. YAY! She never gets out earlier than they estimate. She was very excited. Me too!

Spent most of the day yesterday trying to get to get everything off my old computer and transfered onto my new laptop but (big URGH) my new one didn't want to recognize the Passport Backup with all the stuff on it. Lori O. said...

Hi DanaWV - she usually words mornings and I know she loves going out to breakfast, or said she enjoyed having it before she would hit the road while on vacation.

Lori O. said...

Gosh, what's with all my typos - so sorry... that should be worked

Aha ! Sounds like DANAMO and JUDYE will be earning their Eagle Beads today ! Good job, Scouts !☺ I'm so excited for you all !

Happy to see, upon reading back, that LOLLY felt well enough to enjoy her Sunday activities. The Cowboys and the Rangers both provided big morale boosters, too !

LYNNE, glad to get your assurance that you're O.K.--you just didn't seem yourself yesterday. Now today, if I remember right, you are off work and heading back to the car dealer. Praying all goes well and the mess is straightened out once and for all.

MARGY, I knew you'd have a good time with James--we're so lucky to have such loving grandsons. I love it that you are enjoying PHC along with Seth and me ! Wasn't John Lithgow a great guest ?

LYNN, big sigh of relief to read that you, Liesl and your friends are safely at the OBX. Hoping you find just the right property for your needs. How's the knee feeling after traveling, etc. ?

LINDA, woe is me, TMJ, never had it but I hear it's very painful. Hope you're seeing a specialist soon---hey, that might even be the reason for some of the headaches !

JUDIE, thinking of Darth today as he gets that 2nd cataract taken care of. As far as I'm concerned it's a miracle surgery--had my two done in 2006 and now wear glasses only for close up reading. I didn't realize how much I was missing til' that was taken care of !

Lori O. said...

DanaWV I posted NEST FORECAST early this morning, above..... high of 69 today.

wvgal_dana said...

Yes Lolly did go out yesterday but I don't think she is feeling up to par. Prayers that the cough and junk in head will clean up soon.

I always think of Diann because I know the pain she is in. Still hoping the medication will be corrected or just start working without side effects.

Lori O. said...

WANDA I have a boatload of donations for you... will Margy have room in her car?

Lori O. said...

MARGY, so happy you don't mind coming to Frederick. ♥

Good Morning KAY!

Good Morning Kay, and Yes! to all you said ☺

I hafta share a Gnigty Household hint. Gnats have been driving me Gnuts for the last week. Must be due to the wet and warm Fall we're having--can't stand outside for a neighborly visit without being swarmed. Of course some of them find their way in each time a door is opened and possibly through vents. I was seeing them throughout the house. Went to HowTo.com and followed their home remedy. Placed bowls of Apple Cider Vinegar laced with a dollop of Dawn around the house. Voila`, within five minutes they began to dive into the sticky goop for a watery grave. Left the stuff out for about 6 hours and had about 30 of the little buggers to dispose of. See a few flying around today and so have just put out a new round of their favorite "Kool-aid". Heh, heh, heh !

wvgal_dana said...

Morning Kay what do you plan for today?

wvgal_dana said...

Glad to hear that tip worked for the gnats Kay. Now we all know what to do when we get them inside. Thanks for sharing ( :

Kay said...

I meant gnifty ! Thanks for the big hug, gLORI ! Hope you'll hear good news from your Mom today so that this is a RED LETTER day for you from start to finish !

WANDA, just took a look at your great pics of Family Night ! What a wonderful family ! A bit aawww over GG crying about the oven problem. She is soooo sweet !

Yes, DANAWV, Diann and her pain are of concern to us all. Our prayer list is mighty long, but I know God takes the time to listen as we call upon Him with our Momster requests ! Hallelujah !

wvgal_dana said...

Asking for some special prayers for my Mother. Her bones are giving her a terrible problem. Don't know if arthritis or entrapped nerves. No a doctor she won't go to. I have been going in an spending a lot of time. Taking her in precious weeks places she needed to go. She can hardly open her own front door. She does feel a little better when she takes Aleve but she doesn't want to take it all the time. She is sort of "old school"-God will heal me if HE wants to. I believe that is true. Yet would love for her to see doctor. So I just follow what she wants. She is 85 yrs. old in May will be 86. Love you Mom♥♥

Kay said...

DANAWV, today's plan includes continueing the fight against gnats and lurking right here as I seek info on what you and the other 8 are experiencing. Hopefully others, as in, SHIRLEY, THELMA, HODA, LOLLY, LINDA and more will hold down the fort along with me while you are having a grand time at NCTC. LYNN is off having fun---LYNNE and JUDIE have important things to do--perhaps JIM and ANDY will say hey at some point--yeh, it promises to be a good Momster/Dadster day !

T-Bird said...

You got it Dana.

T-Bird said...

You can say that again Kay.

Kay said...

Prayers for your Mom, DANA WV ! Perhaps you can convince her that God has guided and directed the medical profession and expects that we will take advantage of all they've accomplished toward relieving pain. The old adage, "God helps those who help themselves" comes to mind.

Kay said...

Hi THELMA ! Nice to "see" your cheerful self ! I do hope you and the rest of the Southern Delegation are planning on going to the Open House in April ! We need to meet and enjoy our Eagles together !

wvgal_dana said...

DanaMo she has her scheduled doctors appointment. Before which time she follows how God tells her to treat her health problems. Don't ask me (It can only be GOD) before her appointment is due. She is healed usually. She does know by my father working in a hospital, and me working in a hospital, and her taking care of people about God and HIS doctors.
Thanks anyhow.

wvgal_dana said...

Sorry that is Kay

wvgal_dana said...

Need to close down and finish getting ready to meet my ride.

May everyone have a Blessed Day!

stronghunter said...

Well, Hunter is off to school.

Quite chilly here this morning.

stronghunter said...

Wow, Kay, I will remember your method for getting rid of gnats.

Kay said...

SHIRLEY, I read the same method can be used outside at the picnic table, etc.. I'm so pleased with a simple and non-toxic solution. Sorry Gnats, I know you're God's creation, too, but......

stronghunter said...

Yeah, Kay, I was thinking that a few of those bowls outside might be a good thing.

We are sometimes bothered by gnats in the house that just seem to appear at random.

Kay said...

In talking to my neighbors I find some of them calling them fruit flies, but these are just plain ol' gnats. Why do they like to dive bomb us ? I think I need to clean and spray the little lobby for this fourplex today. Maybe I can figure out a place to set out a dish of the deadly brew there, too.

stronghunter said...

Okay, Flash went under the front porch again and got his lead tangled under there again. This time I can't get it out. At least Flash got out. Once he got stuck under there and Will had to crawl under and get him.

Dogs will be put out in the back only for now.

When we get the lead untangled, I will need to block off the entrance to the underporch again.

Kay said...

SHIRLEY, it sounds like fencing is going to solve a lot of your problems. When is it going to be installed ? You are a very active retiree, what with Hunter, the pets, bowling... !

Yeah, the count down is on and you won't be alone for long JUDY !

JO, we thank you ! Yes, we stay at homes are soooo looking forward to pictures of this momentus day !

Kay said...

LORI, give Belle n' Truder the seven heart salute, if you see them !

stronghunter said...

Dog poop in the front yard . . . I will be happy when that problem goes away.

Kay said...

Just received this poem from a dear old friend. He doesn't realize how perfect it is for us !

BUTTERFLIES AND EAGLES

Quite often, my faith is like
Delicate butterfly wings,
I hover close to the ground,
Too afraid of higher things.

Oh, how I wish my faith were
Like an eagle's wings on high!
So strong, sure, and capable,
Never faltering in flight!

Well, my faith may be fragile,
But the Lord can do all things,
For He is the wind beneath,
Butterfly and eagle wings.
