OK, giving the SB trap another try...turns out the SB I put in myself WAS still there! So I have placed a cardboard top with a SB sized slit in it on top. We'll see how this goes.
Well, Lynn, I 've been trying to get some more things done around here is about all. Very slow going, lots and LOTS of pain today in back and knees. Things are getting done slowly but surely! Sort of a "fall" cleaning. With all the weekends in WV and now these extra hours at work, some things have been getting neglected!

Does anyone know the name of the BBC program on Eagles that MARGY watched tonight? I have BBC site and tried to search for an eagle program and was not too successful. I would appreciate it if any of the ones who watched it earlier would let me know the name...Please and thank you...
Yes, Lynn, there will be no race cars turning tonight. Fubby went to bed. He'll get to watch TU, but not me! Lynne, is the SB in the trap holding up a flag for others to join it??? LOL
Was checking Accuweather for Bastrop, & saw report about stadium closings due to lightening and it showed one guy sitting in his seat. Wonder if he's the one that got hit! Weather for S. Central TX said Fire Warning thru 10 PM tonight, & Red Flag Warnings to Mon. night.(potential for fire)DUH Sher called & said there are about five fires and very windy. Hoda, Jo watched the Eagle show...Margy and I asked name, but Jo hasn't been back! I checked TV Guide and there was no eagle show listed for the channel she mentioned---or any of the PBS stations....so will have to wait and see what she says! Kay said that she had watched it in the past. I MA have, too, but can't know for sure until I start to watch it again!!
POURING here now! GEESH!
Lynne, you did TOO much yesterday, didn't you??? Tsk, tsk! Try to make tomorrow a rest and relaxation day!
Lynn, I really didn't do too much in the way of difficult physical stuff yesterday. I've been having a lot of tingling in my right knee. Thinking the swelling may be pressing on a nerve?
Yep--glad I wasn't out there when it fell, for sure! Lucky, too, that it didn't break the Longaberger Welcome plague that Christie gave me, or my colored bottles on the tree, or my lantern on a shepherd's hook.
LYNN thanks for refreshing my memory!!! Of course it was JO who watched the program and you and Margy asked about it.
The French news papers are going ballistic over the return of Dominique Strauss Kahn. They gave him VIP treatment through customs and police escort in the airport...Chased by reporters for an hour as he was driven in a Peugot to his residence in Paris.
I turned on the Eagle documentary after it had started so I don't know how it was titled. I know the Leopards came on afterwards but I didn't watch that. I tried to check WETA Chn 26 scheduling but nothing was listed even though I had just watched it...........
I don't have any rain here - but perhaps it will come throughout the night.
Linda, hope your busyness wasn't too tiring! Especially after your canning trials yesterday! Did you see that Judie has some info about that for you? She said you should have gotten much more out of those toms!
That globe is great. I guess I'm the one at Elizabethtown, PA. Not really, but close enuf.
Loretta, know my prayers are with everyone else on here. Momster/Dadster prayers are the best.
Lynne, your knee symtom could also be your back. Just went through that and MRI confirmed. Don't overdo.
I hope if rain is coming it cools down some. The humidty is horrible. Hard to breathe, especially if active.
Hoda, your comment about Judie was very funny. Had me laughing out loud.
Lynn, please do be careful and don't over work yourself into exhaustion. Please check in with someone after you're done so we know you're okay.
Linda, we've been in/near Carbondale, but not for a long time. What county? I think we passed by on our way to Lake Wallenpaupak(?sp)or through Schuylkill and Carbon Counties looking for Jimbo's ancestors.
OH, I forgot to say....There are red berries all over one of the big Dogwood trees out front! I've lived here for 12 years and NEVER seen the berries before!
DanaWV---DirecTV isn't showing anything about Eagles on WETA for Weds. 5pm...??? Hoda doesn't have a TV and wouldn't get our stations anyway. Thanks, Jo---nope, it wasn't in the TV guide.
Thanks, Lynn for telling me about Judie's comment. I'm still working on catching up. I will be sure to look for it.
Diann - Carbondale is in Lackawanna County, which is just south of our county. Lake Wallenpaupack is on the eastern side of I-81. You actually would take I-84 East to get there, I believe. I haven't been to see that lake, but know where you are talking about. Skuylkill and Carbon Counties are southeast of us as well.
Okay, I found it online, DanaWV...it IS Weds. at 5pm....the show itself is The Attenborough Collection, and the subtitle is Eagle: Master of the Skies. This may be a BBC production...maybe it's avaialble online, Hoda!
Linda, thanks for clearing that for me. We spent many summer vacations in the area of the lake. Jim and his family liked to fly fish in the Lackawaxen River (Lacky they called it). I think that's in Pike County.
Linda, we don't know why the change for commenting on folks blogs. PIA!!!! You do have to choose google acct., enter your user name and password, and then uncheck the box for "stay signed in"--then you can enter your comment. Of course, the next time you turn your puter on and open the blog, you'll have to sign in again.
Hoda, I don't see anything on that site that refers to Attenborough. Some good videos but don't think that's the show Jo saw. I DO love the golden eagles, tho'! They are so lovely.
Sugar! Don't think I'm even gonna get my Sunday shows on the repeats.....satellite is still out. ARGH! Will have to see if THEY are available online at some point. :(
Hoda, it is just my brother and I this weekend...and yes the weather has been pretty
The whole complexion of the beach was changed by the hurricane..the water came in and took out the banks...flattened all the grass and pushed the sand further back and flatttened the small dunes...and brought more sand in too
Well, dear friends, think I'll read for a few minutes and then go to the sofa and snooze a bit while I wait for the storm to stop. Then try for my bath! See you all tomorrow. Best wishes for a good NON-labor Labor day to all. Prayers for everyone on the list...and especially for DanaMo's friend's daughter, and for Loretta's Sherry.
PAULA It sounds like a TERRIFIC weekend. Glad you were able to fix the roof and that the landscape change is something you understand and deal well with...Mom and Dad always had to shore up the banks on the Cape Cod house after large storms.
Okay, so I am caught up to the beginning of this thread.......
But I must go to sleep now as I am exhausted!
Some comments from what I read earlier:
SHIRELY – My father in law lived us for a few years when he first moved to FL and loved making and flying those model planes. Problem was that he would work for months building and painting them and then take them out to fly once…..and would bring it back in pieces :(! I felt so badly for him.
LYNN – Do you make your Jambalaya from scratch? I love jambalaya! I learned about that in my years living in New Orleans and Baton Rouge as a child. My first husband was a Cajun, too!! He was another one who enjoyed cooking, when he felt like it. He always loved Cajun dishes and lots of spicy things.
Wow, I remember the Tappan Oven! I remember those…
MARGY – Prayers that your brother and sister-in-law get their power back soon. That is no fun. Did they have any water damage?
JUDIE – I would LOVE an easier process for canning my tomatoes!! I know I can even cold pack the tomatoes, but then I will still have to cook them down when I make my sauce, right? I figured if I cooked them down to what I usually like to use, it will be less work later and less jars!! Can you please email me your suggestions? You can email me from my profile, or I can send you my email address. Thanks in advance for any help!! ♥
DANAMo – So sorry to hear about your best friend’s daughter’s accident. How horrible to get such scary news. Prayers that she Erin will be able to have the surgery she needs in time and that little Ella will be okay as well. So sad to see an innocent child affected by accidents like this.
WV Dana – Prayers for Terry and Diane Rowland and that Diane recovers quickly and completely. May God Bless them both.
Diane - I tried to answer your question about my border collie, but got caught up in that "permission" thing. I've had my Riley since he was 6-8 weeks old! I've never rescued one and would imagine that can be a challenge, since they really need to be kept busy or they will destroy. We used to give Riley "chores" to keep him busy! He really is a joy!! Best of luck with Danny. Would love to hear more about him if you'd like to email me.
Snowman’s Cam?? What is that? I love snow!!
Okay, as MARGY says, I've taken up too much real estate with this post!! For those who have hit the pillows, I pray you're sleeping peacefully! For those on their way, I pray for peaceful and restful sleep!
May God Bless us all the the critters we so dearly love. xoxo ♥♥♥
Heading to bed. Have not read the blog, will do that tomorrow. Have had a great day with Laurel and her family. Before they left, Danna and her family arrived. Danna is our neice. She and her husband have 3 children and they are here for tonight. So, I have a house full. I am tired. See you all tomorrow.
We have had some pretty hard rain here for the past couple of hours. 2 pretty hard downpours. Now, I won't have to water flowers and veggies, tomorrow:) Grass is knee deep to the Jolly Green Giant. Help!!
I am about to join the sleepyheads, wish I had done it earlier. I've been going to bed so late that I don't wake up til 9am. By then, the day is half gone and I'm not getting enough done around my roost, as Margy says:)
GOOD NIGHT MY FRIENDS SWEET DREAMS PRAYERS AND BLESSINGS FOR ALL♥
Almost like another day for me. I decided to work today so I could keep a vacation day. Our union has our holidays set up as X amount of vacation days and we can use them anywhere we want. It's an easy day and I'll get more work done being as hardly anyone else will be there. I will only be doing traffic this morning and there won't even be a lot of that!
Goodmorning LORI...Woke up and decided to check the blog and there you are. I did not think you would work today but you explained it well in your last post. I hope it is as quiet and as productive as you hope for it to be.Have a great morning. I am going to head back to bed...Ciao
HODA, hope you were able to get some rest when you went back to bed. Very quiet here this morning so I'm hoping to get lots done! I already have a good start. :)
G☼☼D M☼RNING to all gathered at the SSCC, aka The Skyroom at the prestigious Sycamore Palace !
gL☺RI, aren't you the sneaky one, showing up for work on this fine Labor Day ? You'll be happy to know I have you in my ear as well as right here in my grasp---so I'm now able to have more than one tab up at a time ! Eureka !
Rain has subsided here and it's going to be a delightful 66-68° day here. I'll get a chance to clean the deck without sweating ! The kids and I had our holiday time together yesterday and will all use today for a catch up day for odd jobs.
DANAMO, nice to see you this morning ! There must not be an update on Vickie's Erin and Ella or you'd have said so. Hope things are going as well as can be expected and that both physical and spiritual healing has begun.
L♥RI, so happy to hear young Mr. Vulture is returning to his familiar territory for visits ! It's going to be so interesting to see how long he sticks around and if his parents have established your "barn" as the site for their future family additions !
Thanks Kay. The only update I have is that Erin will have surgery today on her ankle. Otherwise I think she is doing okay. She states that she has ruined her life, which she has done. God knows what the repercussions will be legally, especially with her daughter since she is not with the father. I see him getting custody and her being declared unfit to care for a child that she puts in harms way. I don't know much about that kind of stuff, but I imagine it could happen. I don't know how long my friend is going to be able to stay in Buffalo and take care of things, but they have a long road ahead of them.
SHIRLEY, you sure set off an interesting line of Global talk last night ! Ya never know what is going to catch our imagination and set us off on one of our tangents, do ya ? I was surprised to see how many were getting acquainted with that feature for the first time !
Oh, DANAMO, so much heartache ahead for Erin, and she has ruined her life at this point. However, this may well have been the bottom she had to hit in order to make changes. Where there is life, there's hope, we know, and she can, in time, turn things around. God bless her and the whole family as they struggle with what lies ahead !
Be still my heart ! My granddaughter, Lauren Calista wrote a lengthy e-mail message to all of us. She describes the first few glorious days in Beijing and at The Wall, including pics of her and roommate, plus some of the whole group at The Great Wall. Classes began today, starting off with a 3 hour Intermediate Chinese Class. Heavy duty ! Now I'm challenging myself to figuring out where and how to save the pics so I can do an avatar with one of the pics. It would be a cinch if I had my old files off the laptop, but that won't happen for a few days.
So happy to hear you're tabbed browsing with windows galore! ♥
Please keep us up to date on Lauren. I'm living vicariously through her. Sounds like so much fun and memories for a lifetime.
You're right KAY, SHIRLEY did kick off a global storm with the globe link. I was fascinated by it, but then I saw I was the only one on at 2:30AM. I should try it now.
DANAMO, I'm so sorry for your friend Vickie. You're right she may lose her grandchild. I pray she has a good relationship with Ella's father. So, so sad. It didn't have to happen.
KAY, thanks for your vulture joy! I'm so proud of him surviving and fledging then to come back. Ah, he considers it his home. It would be great if the parents came back again next year. I still wonder why they had such late eggs this year.
And, about that rule of NOT WEARING WHITE AFTER LABOR DAY, the 2004 manners bible, Emily Post's Etiquette, 17th Edition, gives the go-ahead for wearing white after Labor Day.
Thank you Ms. Post!
I remember in Oct or Nov, 1969, watching a majorette competition with my mom. She looked down and saw I was wearing, gasp of horror, white shoes! I sat through the rest of the show with my feet hooked under my folding chair. I must have had boots over the offending white shoes while on the way there since she didn't notice earlier. :)
HAPPY LABOR DAY!!! We have been having MAJOR thunder & lightning here, so I'm making this quick--seems to be a temporary lull in the action at the moment. Just got some rain from it all. It's a tropical depression, and we can expect high humidity & high temps for a few days.
We went to a later showing of "The Help" yesterday, and it's FANTASTIC!!! You laugh, you cry. It's a wonderful, well-written story that will capture your heart. I predict a Best Picture Oscar!
Well, guess I'd better shut down here again. Will be back later, if the thunder & lightning stop. HAGD, everyone! Love all of you! :o]
Oh I'm ready to go back to bed after my run. I don't think it's suppose to work that way! Time for a nice cheese omelet from my wonderful husband. He takes good care of me, when he is home.
LORI, thanks for the wearing of white after Labor Day update ! Having lived for so many years in Sun Country Resort territory I grew used to year round white. Here in Columbus, many seem to abide by the old rule, but I tend to go by the weather and wear white pants until the days grow chilly. I do put away the white shoes, but that's my extent of bowing to old convention. Actually, one of the nice things about these Golden Years is that so many folks seem to give us a pass when we step on their sense of decorem !☺
Oh, you are so funny Kay! I can't even imagine you with less than a perfect sense of decorem. And what's this Golden Years stuff? You're only 74! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
DANAMO, so glad to hear Monte treats you well when he's in town. He must really appreciate all you do to keep the home and the kids in order when he must be away so much. You deserve some Queen for a Day attention !!!!
God Bless everyone in the work force, and all those who have been and are now retired... including stay-at-home Mothers and Fathers... emergency workers and health care folks, service personnel of all kinds Everyone who makes the wheels turn in one way or the other !
we had storms here a few times overnight....quite a lot of thunder and lightning and some good rain
wondering if Hedgie ever felt it was safe to climb into the tubby.
DanaMo am keeping your friend Vickie, her daughter Erin, and little Ella in my prayers I hope there will be good resolution to the many problems the entire family will be facing... and especially hope that Ella's paternal side of the family...will be supportive and helpful, loving...
Good morning! Still need to ready back on the blog. I have been up an hour and everyone else is still asleep but wanted to enjoy the morning. Now get this.......It is 68.5 here!!!!
Pewter gray! Too funny! I like it, Kay. Today 74 is young!
We have a staff member at our school who insists that you can't wear white shoes after Labor Day. She works on Tuesday and Thursday so I wear my white on MWF! :)
I have opened up the house here in the den and kit...all I could do without disturbing those sleeping. It is wonderful! Still need rain, and know the temps will rise but right now....there is HOPE!☺
There are fires burning all over Texas. Please keep Texas in your prayers. One friend put on facebook that she had friends who had to evacuate and they were not able to get their animals. So sad!
Mighta missed Lori on the air but Rod Stewart is there !♪ ♫
Meant to add to Paula: sounds like a lot of re-arranging of the scenery at the Paradise...hope that all will be okay glad to read your brother is there Hope today is fun for you and Safe Travels when you head back xoxo ♥

Happy Labor Day greetings to all. I see the early morning clan was up and 'em as usual! Lori, makes sense for you to work a slow day and save a vacation day for the real thing!!
LOL---too bad that the white-after-Labor-Day rule DIDN'T apply to nurses---I HATED white!!! Would never wear it any other time but work! I was a happy camper once we were allowed to start wearing colored scrubs!!! I even rebelled against buying a white vehicle!
wanted to also add, in answer to questions about my brother Fred in Connecticut... I am not sure how he is getting along.... he turns 72 on Wednesday, his wife is 59 since he is working off cell phones, I am avoiding stressing out his minutes....or his limited charging capabilities, pretty sure he has a good support system going there, but he is not exactly what one would call a "pioneer"... hope to hear from him soon and might just ring him up later on
Kay, cool that your granddaughter was able to send out email and pics! Look forward to seeing your pics!
DanaMo...good to hear that Erin is not as seriously injured as it sounded.....usually an ortho procedure is last on the list when there is head trauma. Glad that Ella is okay.
Finally got my bath at 1:30 this AM. It was still pouring rain but no thunder or lightening. It rained all night. A bit of drizzle still this AM. Limb is not as big as it looked from above. Main trunk part is only about 2 feet long, and maybe as big around as my forearm. Better----easier!! But can't run electric chain saw as wet as everything is at the moment.
LYNN, glad you're careful about things like tub baths in stormy weather and not chain sawing wet wood ! Can certainly understand a nurse growing tired of white !
I think Danna, Juan and family will be leaving this morning and heading home. They were at a family reunion in Dallas Sat., then went to Six Flags yesterday. Glad to serve as a bed and breakfast.
Danna married Juan just a couple years ago. Her first marriage. Married Juan who has three children. They are at their house every Thurs thru the weekend. (I think) The oldest, a girl, just started high school and she is now living with them. Great kids...two girls and one boy . The boy is in third grade and Jacob who is in first is much bigger! They were comparing last night. My sister who had three grandchildren got three more..instantly! She loves it!
Sure wish we would hear from Loretta to see if she's heard any more from Sherry.....on CNN late last night, there were folks in a parking lot in Bashrop (?) who could see their community across the way in flames. :( Lolly, any idea why your friend's friends couldn't rescue their pets??? How totally awful.
LYNN, oh my, yes, how tacky of you ! I'm guessing a little drive around the hood will show you, you aren't the only one ! Good reminder for me, I was about to go to the foyer in search of mail !!!!
Good Labor Day To All Of You! Sounds like Lori is our laborer for the day. I would do the same if only to get more vacation days. Good to see you all here and hoping you all make the best of today. We realized that we didn't have any plans for the day - just relaxation. Sure wish we had some cams to view of our nest. Lynn and Margy did get great photos for our album the other day.
Bad dog mommy.....I lost one of Liesl's tennis balls. I did not see where it went....where she was looking, it WASN'T....suspected it maybe went down the steps.....if so, I can't find it down there, either. ARGH. She keeps looking.
I missed a question: Linda, I think, asked about my Jambalaya.....it is Zatarain's boxed blend...and I broiled a smoked sausage to crisp up the casing and cut it and added it to the pot. They also have a frozen ready-made variety---daughter says it's is NO good!

«Oldest ‹Older 201 – 366 of 366Good Evening!! Geeze....I'm so behind in catching up again.
Hope your Labor Day Sunday was a good one!!
No need, Dana, but thanks for the offer. It probably won't even take 5 mins!!
Storming enough now that satellite is going in and out....argh!
Wow! Isn't that just too cool! Now have a new reason to procrastinate. To Darth, it will look as if I'm on the computer doing professor stuff NOT. lol
That's the lower left hand corner.
I clicked on the Globe as Shirley suggested and there are clicks from Israel, China, Mexico, Portugal, and these are but a few...GREAT I hope they are interested in the EAGLES and somehow will join the discussion...Could Israel be Guela I saw her picture on Facebook.
Well, according to the globe stats, Lynne logged on about 4 minutes ago! HEL-L-L-O Lynne-ie!
And Linda, looks like you are close to Carbondale??
Hey, you can make the globe spin the wrong direction. Reminds me of something that happened when I was in college. The geography department set up a beautiful, large globe in the library. Only problem: It was turning in the wrong direction.
Not sure what it all means, Hoda. The listing on the right doesn't show any international activity for our blog except you!
I'm here.....I was having fun with the globe....FAST, slooooow, tilt up, tilt down. Hope I haven't given anyone vertigo!
Drat! LORETTA----race postponed until TUES. 11 am.
oooooooOOOOOOOoooooo now we are going BACKWARDS!
Looks like you can put it on your own blog if you want to. There are directions.
I seem to recall seeing it on someone's blog.
NJ and NC on here...HELLO!
Oh, no....a fan who didn't evacuate the stadium was hit by a direct lightening strike! Valuable lesson if he lives to know it.
LYNN I clicked on the revolver map section, lower right hand corner of the globe and saw all the international flags...
Direct lightning strike LYNN??? That can not be too heatlhy!!! I wonder why he did not clear the stadium???
JudyE must be here and I see Hoda! Love this map!
OK, giving the SB trap another try...turns out the SB I put in myself WAS still there! So I have placed a cardboard top with a SB sized slit in it on top. We'll see how this goes.
That stupid game (sorry, T-bird!) started at 3pm......this is just plain crazy. Either call it or re-play it at another time.
There's Lynne!! Whatcha been doin' today, kiddo??
So far the storms have stayed west of us, but I think we are in for a soaker tomorrow.

Lynne I lived 1st Fells Point Baltimore, then we moved to Middle River, then just behind us was...I am trying to think of name was Edgewood Md. later when husband took off I moved to Dundalk. I really like it there.
On the map there is also Russia, Poland and Australia...
Changing my avatar before I forget...will get to grandparents on Tuesday!
Dana, I dare say that part of town has changes some over the years since you've been here. I'm not all that familiar with them though.
It is surprising how many hits there are on that map.
looks like the last time Chrissy was on was Aug 10.....NOTHING is a secret anymore!
Does anyone know the name of the BBC program on Eagles that MARGY watched tonight? I have BBC site and tried to search for an eagle program and was not too successful. I would appreciate it if any of the ones who watched it earlier would let me know the name...Please and thank you...
I just checked the WETA schedule and they have a Leopard show that was on at 8pm, not sure if it was on before that but it's not showing if so.
I see we are playing "As the World Turns"!!!

She said Jimmy said, "it is what it is!"
Shirley, I'll have to ask if Cindy knows Jenna. Merry is in a huge cage in house as they have other cats & dogs inside. All raccoons are outside!
Was trying to find some kind of news or pics online, but maybe I should try Austin.
well Loretta, the plan is that the one I planted will attract others but I don't see a flag....LOL!
Lynn - Don't know what you're talking about, but yes, we are pretty close to Carbondale. It's about 30-40 minutes away.
Why do you ask?
I'm still trying to catch up!
I remember Tappan ovens!!

Linda, when you catch up you'll see we have been playing with the revolver map on the home page of the blog. WE KNOW WHEN YOU ARE HERE!!!!
Lynn - I see the revolving globe. Pretty neat.
Lynne - Sorry you're in so much pain today.
We're having some pretty nasty storms right now.
oh, stay safe Linda....
pain largely my own fault Linda, well at least partly, hauling around all this extra weight....
Yep--glad I wasn't out there when it fell, for sure! Lucky, too, that it didn't break the Longaberger Welcome plague that Christie gave me, or my colored bottles on the tree, or my lantern on a shepherd's hook.
Going to run the dogs out and head to bed. Hope everyone has a good night and prayers for you all!
So I guess Carbondale, PA showed up when I logged in and started trying to catch up.
I figured I'd better post something because I may end up fading before I get caught up once again.
Had a busy day with church, lots of laundry and doing stuff around the house. The day sure passed fast.
Wish I could go take my bath...but still thundering. Just too leery with a well and a cast iron tub. :(
LYNN thanks for refreshing my memory!!!

Hoda I went forward on WETA tv channel and found an eagle show. I'll check day and time. Try Wednesday 5pm Eastern Standard Time on WETA "Eagle".
Got thunder and rain here again. So I am closing down.
Take care everyone...all needs in God's HANDS.
MARGY!!! Is it almost time for Tundra Swan migration?????
I turned on the Eagle documentary after it had started so I don't know how it was titled. I know the Leopards came
on afterwards but I didn't watch that.
I tried to check WETA Chn 26 scheduling but nothing was listed even though I had
just watched it...........
I don't have any rain here - but perhaps
it will come throughout the night.
Linda, hope your busyness wasn't too tiring! Especially after your canning trials yesterday!
Did you see that Judie has some info about that for you? She said you should have gotten much more out of those toms!
THANK YOU VERY MUCH DANA and JO.
Good evening everyone.
There is a good selection from BBC on EAGLES Could one of these be the program Jo watched?
Time for me to say good night. I am about to fall to sleep.
Rest well, everyone. I will see you later.
Goodnight Shirley!
Okay, I found it online, DanaWV...it IS Weds. at 5pm....the show itself is The Attenborough Collection, and the subtitle is Eagle: Master of the Skies.
This may be a BBC production...maybe it's avaialble online, Hoda!
How come I can't post comments on anyone's pictures on their blogs anymore without choosing an account to blog with?
What do I choose I tried "google account" and it told me something like I wasn't authorized. I hate it when things change.....
Linda, thanks for clearing that for me. We spent many summer vacations in the area of the lake.
Jim and his family liked to fly fish in the Lackawaxen River (Lacky they called it). I think that's in Pike County.
DirecTV still isn't showing ANY shows by that name on WETA 26 or any other PBS stations. :(
Well, my head is spinning as the world turns.
Lynn, not to worry about a bath. Safe not sorry.
Lynne2, take it easy lady. Aches and pains are fun NOT.
Loretta, continued prayers for Sherry and family and all the others. Really a shame for all concerned.
No too short!!! ALAS!!! Some good information on the page though...
Hi, Di!!!!
The sandperson has arrived and is strongly hinting that sleep will arrive very soon.
The night light is on for anyone who needs to arise in the night and for others who may arrive later from the West coast. Restful sleep for all.
Whoa LYNNE I almost fell off the globe, LOL
Hoda, I don't see anything on that site that refers to Attenborough. Some good videos but don't think that's the show Jo saw.
I DO love the golden eagles, tho'! They are so lovely.
THANKS LYNN I found a lot about Sir David Attenborough but not this particular program, I appreciate all the help I got tonight. YOU ALL ARE GREAT.
Good night, Miss Judie! Is Darth the sandperson who is always snatching you away from us???!!
NO LYNN you are right the site I posted did not have anything about Attenborough, and the clips were too short.
LOL, Paula---did it show you out in the bay??
Lynn the globe dosen't show up on my phone
Goodnight Judie.
Oh, okay Paula!!! Didn't know that!
Paula, hope you are having a grand time in Paradise. Work some, play some.
Sugar! Don't think I'm even gonna get my Sunday shows on the repeats.....satellite is still out. ARGH! Will have to see if THEY are available online at some point. :(
Hoda, it is just my brother and I this weekend...and yes the weather has been pretty
The whole complexion of the beach was changed by the hurricane..the water came in and took out the banks...flattened all the grass and pushed the sand further back and flatttened the small dunes...and brought more sand in too
I had water and debris up to my pine trees...
Well the news has finished and this gal
is going to hit the pillows.
Good Night Everyone
Prayers for all needs
Hugs for all ♥♥♥♥♥♥
the Hawk Eagle, Golden Eagle and Black Eagle were but a few of the most beautiful. Yes, it was BBC production
PAULA It sounds like a TERRIFIC weekend. Glad you were able to fix the roof and that the landscape change is something you understand and deal well with...Mom and Dad always had to shore up the banks on the Cape Cod house after large storms.
Goodnight to those heading for their pillows.
I'm signing off for tonight and hope everyone has a great day tomorrow. Hope the rain doesn't spoil your festivities.
God bless everyone.
♪♫Happy Birthday, Dear Iris!! May God Richly Bless you in this year of your life!♪♫
Had to get that in before midnight!!
You've got mail, Iris! xoxo ♥
May God Bless us all the the critters we so dearly love. xoxo ♥♥♥
I am headed off to bed. Goodnight and sleep tight.
God Bless and Sweet dreams.
Sweet dreams!
GOOD NIGHT MY FRIENDS
SWEET DREAMS
PRAYERS AND BLESSINGS FOR ALL♥
Almost like another day for me.
Sorry none of us is waking up to working cams this morning...Darn, darn, darn as Herman Munster used to stomp and say. :)
HODA, hope you were able to get some rest when you went back to bed. Very quiet here this morning so I'm hoping to get lots done! I already have a good start. :)
G☼☼D M☼RNING Eagle Buds
Hi JUDY and DANAMO!
Guess whose cutest little black vulture chick came home last night to sleep in the tree above his barn? I was so happy to see him.
Good thing I don't have kids, eh?!!
You have all kinds of other babies to take care of! That's wonderful!
So glad your baby returned to your roost
Going to grab my coffee and go on the couch and snuggle with a black lab or 2 or 3! :)
I hope everyone has a great holiday with their loved ones
OTWIG HAGD
Have a great day JUDYE! See you at lunch.
The child, Ella, is fine and has been released and is with her father and other grandparents.
Good Morning KAY!
DANAMO,
I'm so sorry for your friend Vickie.
Hi, Everyone,
HAPPY LABOR DAY!!!
LORI, you're right and I'm a young 74 at that ! What is this Golden Years stuff----looks more like Pewter Gray on most of us. LOL
Good Labor Day Morning Eagle Pals
God Bless everyone in the work force, and all those who have been and are now retired...
including stay-at-home Mothers and Fathers...
emergency workers and health care folks, service personnel of all kinds
Everyone who makes the wheels turn in one way or the other !
we had storms here a few times overnight....quite a lot of thunder and lightning
and some good rain
wondering if Hedgie ever felt it was safe to climb into the tubby.
Pewter Gray - that's lovely terminology, Kay ! ☺
Gald to read yet another good review by Andy of The Help
I am reading the book..feeling a bit transformed in some ways while turning the pages
I will see the movie, but not until I finish the book

am keeping your friend Vickie, her daughter Erin, and little Ella in my prayers
I hope there will be good resolution to the many problems the entire family will be facing...
and especially hope that Ella's paternal side of the family...will be supportive and helpful, loving...
Hallelujah Lolly !
only white shoes I have are sneakers...
So sad!
going to bring up WASH-FM and start getting my day rocking and rolling...
there is an article today's local paper about cursive writing in WV schools, think I will read that here shortly

Good morning!
Linda, will send along the recipe today. May be very similar but seems less complicated than what you went through.
DanaMo, glad that Ella was okay to be released.
White. Labor Day. I'm old school. Only white blouse or cream sweater. My walking shoes are dirty white.
Lori, I think I will refer to your vulture babe as Victor-Victoria. Good for male or female and it surely has been victorious.
Slept late. Off to get some coffee and newspaper then to do the reading I didn't do yesterday because I procrastinated by doing something else.

Some labor day quotes to ponder:
Without work all life goes rotten.
- Albert Camus, 1913 - 1960
There is no fatigue so wearisome as that which comes from lack of work.
- Charles Haddon Spurgeon, 1834 - 1892
Where Labor stands idle ... there is a demonstrated deficiency, not of Capital, but of brains.
- Horace Greeley, 1811 - 1872
Employment gives health, sobriety, and morals. Constant employment and well-paid labor produce, in a country like ours, general prosperity, content, and cheerfulness. Thus happy have we seen the country.
- Daniel Webster, 1782 - 1852
Nothing is more dangerous than discontinued labor; it is habit lost. A habit easy to abandon, difficult to resume.
- Victor Hugo, 1802 - 1885
Even in the meanest sorts of Labor, the whole soul of a man is composed into a kind of real harmony the instant he sets himself to work.
- Thomas Carlyle, 1795 - 1881
The safe and general antidote against sorrow is employment.
- Samuel Johnson, 1709 - 1784
Fabulous, Kay !
Thanks for the insights
Happy Labor Day greetings to all.
I see the early morning clan was up and 'em as usual! Lori, makes sense for you to work a slow day and save a vacation day for the real thing!!
LOL---too bad that the white-after-Labor-Day rule DIDN'T apply to nurses---I HATED white!!! Would never wear it any other time but work! I was a happy camper once we were allowed to start wearing colored scrubs!!! I even rebelled against buying a white vehicle!
wanted to also add, in answer to questions about my brother Fred in Connecticut...
I am not sure how he is getting along....
he turns 72 on Wednesday, his wife is 59
since he is working off cell phones, I am avoiding stressing out his minutes....or his limited charging capabilities,
pretty sure he has a good support system going there, but he is not exactly what one would call a
"pioneer"...
hope to hear from him soon and might just ring him up later on
and THANKS for all the well-wishes for him and his wife
JUDIE, Dirty White is an acceptable color, right along with Winter White, Cream, Grundgy White and A Week After Snowfall White !
Kay, cool that your granddaughter was able to send out email and pics! Look forward to seeing your pics!
DanaMo...good to hear that Erin is not as seriously injured as it sounded.....usually an ortho procedure is last on the list when there is head trauma. Glad that Ella is okay.
I agree about wearing white. I think it makes me look heavy. At least when I see pictures I think that!
LOLLY, nice to hear you're getting a little break from the extreme heat ! Enjoy that house full of company today !
Hoda, here is the snowman cam link, but I also sent it email in case you miss it.

Hi, Margy and Lolly! Gee, I'm 1/2 degree WARMER than you, Lolly!!
Lolly, any idea why your friend's friends couldn't rescue their pets??? How totally awful.
Margy, you can cursive email, too!! I often do---lots of fonts to choose from!
Guess what dumb thing I did yesterday?? I put the trash out!!! Duh----pick-up delayed until tomorrow due to holiday! TACKY!
LYNN, oh my, yes, how tacky of you ! I'm guessing a little drive around the hood will show you, you aren't the only one ! Good reminder for me, I was about to go to the foyer in search of mail !!!!
And now I'm going in search of enlightenment, the newspapers await me. I know, newspapers and enlightenment could be a stretch !
