Hey T-bird. You got wax and did the split! I think most of the eaglet momsters and dadsters are out and about today!

T-Bird said...

Hey Eagle-Eye. Buddy says hi.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Hello Buddy the Bassett Hound.

floralgirl said...

oooh- it's quiet in here today...

T-Bird said...

It sure has been quiet since I arrived. I'm starting to get a complex. :)

floralgirl said...

Ha- Thelma, I certainly wouldn't take it personally, it seems everyone must be outisde enjoying the warm temps or running errands.

T-Bird said...

okay Megan-I'll take your word for it

Lolly said...

Hello again! Just showed our eagles to J & J, as well as NBG. They took a look and left. Not like me....I can sit and watch a spell! Joseph has the flu, test was positive, negagtive for strep. He is still running a low grade fever, so looks like I will be here again tomorrow. Glad I saw Jack for a couple of days!

Been making him vanilla malt shakes. His eyes are red and glassy and now he is coughing a lot. He looks sick. I guess Jacob will be next....I am scrubbing my hands!!!!!

wvgal_dana said...

Not I Thelma ... I've been panda napping a lot. Just so you know it is always good to see you and buddy.

T-Bird said...

thanks Dana

wvgal_dana said...

Oh Lolly so sorry for Joseph poor child. Yes WASH WASH. I even used my kitchen baterical spray. On my hands then rinse hot water when hubby was sick. Did not use dish clothes or sponges. Did everything with paper towels.

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Evening friends!! Did I miss anything eggciting??

T-Bird said...

You made it for the changing of the guard.

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Lolly, keep the hand sanitizer around too!! Sick kids are the worst. Bless his heart. Mattie is kind of stuffy, hope she is not coming down with anything. Her 11th birthday is Friday, 13th!!

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

We are under a severe storm warning, just did the Emergency Broadcast System thing on the radio telling everyone to seek shelter. 70 mph winds and all kinds of good stuff.

floralgirl said...

Both- our nest

deb said...

Both eagles, our nest.

floralgirl said...

That switch took a while- eagle on eggs didn't wanna get up-

deb said...

Probably thought, this is too late in the day for a switch!

paula eagleholic said...

Evening, all!

You can call my dog, Boo, Drano!

Dr had to put a drain in his ear...kept filling up w/ fluid. Hopefully it will stay in for 3 weeks...we go back next week to check it.

Been trying to remove a virus and spyware...think I finally got it...unfortunately I think it may have come from Facebook :(

paula eagleholic said...

I see we haven't had any changes to the cam...

paula eagleholic said...

Maybe now I can finish getting my taxes done...

paula eagleholic said...

Is that Belle again in the nest?

T-Bird said...

I hope you all have a good evening. Bedford is signing out. Everyone stay safe.

paula eagleholic said...

Farmer just got home...

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Boo Drano, I feel ya, honey!

paula eagleholic said...

Nope he just left again...

deb said...

Yes, it was a very late switch, Paula.

paula eagleholic said...

Stay safe, Sissy and Sharon!

paula eagleholic said...

Winds haven't hit here yet...

paula eagleholic said...

Bye Tbird!

paula eagleholic said...

And thanks, Deb.

paula eagleholic said...

OK, doggies have been patient while I worked on computer....time to feed Nugz and Drano...

magpie said...

I see two eggs at Okla - exposed on the right hand side cam...

Hi Everyone ☺

deb said...

I just posted some pictures from today on Deb's Photos. One Surprise picture included.

deb said...

Hi, Margy, missed the eggs at OK.

magpie said...

Hi Deb - headed over to your pictures soon....
I guess the one cam is about two mins ahead of the other, that is kind of cool...so I knew it wasn't going to last long, and it didn't...

Haven't read the blog yet, hope everyone is okay....headed for that too.

Mema Jo said...

Paula, So sorry to hear about the ear drain but sure hope it is small enough to stay in there the required time and do the job.

This is the first I've have time to get back on here.
Just finished dinner - had son as a guest.

Deb - just remember to watch your 2 video clips that you were loading late last night - they were great

deb said...

I wonder if the storm got them so far off. They were much closer in time, a few seconds.

Mema Jo said...

Well I was in your Nest Photos
I better get back over there for the
surprise...... BRB

Hi Margy

magpie said...

Two adults at Okla

deb said...

We are having flooding here due to ice jams. The ice is melting too early too quickly. Closest river involved is the Big Sioux River about 15 miles to the east. The worst river is the White River in South Central SD.

Mema Jo said...

Please Bluefield gals - don't blow away from us! Stay safe and keep us posted!
loLove ♥ ♥ ♥

Going to see if your street cam is still up

deb said...

OK cams are in sync now.

Time for dinner, bbl.

Mema Jo said...

WOW Bluefield cam is so dark
No street lights - just the car traffic
lights

paula eagleholic said...

Great pics Deb. Love the surprise!!

Sure would have liked to have heard the CO eagle!!

deb said...

It looks like a power failure in Bluefield!

paula eagleholic said...

Jo - that's OK about the drain....opted not to do it last visit...they just drained ear instead...hopefully w/ drain we will avoid surgery!

Mema Jo said...

I'll be back
Need to go send out email concerning
get together tomorrow as to where we are to meet.

BRB

paula eagleholic said...

Hmmm wonder how comes the cam is still on?

paula eagleholic said...

Oh yeah, have a great lunch tomorrow to everyone who is attending!! I'm expecting lots of pics! Sorry I can't be there, just not a day I can take off!

floralgirl said...

Radar shows Blufield just had a wicked line of storms going by them- winds from 39 mph to a gust of 68 mph- looks like the rain is almost past them

magpie said...

OH man, that carcass site on Pix Pa ! Is horrible Bleahhh ! :(

deb said...

Maybe it is a battery/solar camera and the newspaper has a generator. All guesses!

I can't get Caltrans open, any one else.

magpie said...

And now there is a FOX at the carcass...that's a first, for me.

magpie said...

Wonder if it is a RED fox...

Batten down the hatches everyone, we are in for some wind on our side of the country....

Please be careful !

magpie said...

The more that fox moves the longer that cam will stay up....

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

We are okay,ya'll. It moved really fast through here. Lost power for a minute but it came back on.

deb said...

First time for a fox for me, too. My chili is heated up, bbl.

magpie said...

Great reading everyone's comments today. Glad that your pup is getting some good treatment Paula, and Mema, glad you got a pretty good report too. Can you have Oatmeal Creme Pies ☺

Will be anxious to hear how Hedgie's grand-daughter did in the spelling bee, been thinking of them often today

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

I am really glad that moved fast, it was intense for a minute. Walmart is without power!!

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Canceled severe thunderstorm warning, whew!!

magpie said...

egg roll our nest

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Well that was a nice little storm that just blew by. Lights went out from Princeton to Bluefield VA and came back on here but are still out in Bluefield Virginia and along College Avenue. Don't know how the Jefferson cam stayed on.

wvgal_dana said...

DEB you are probably right about TH verses WE. I hadn't seen anything going on at WE. AT TH HP has been happening plus nestorations. They just might be next like you thought.

Try to bbl

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Looks like there is still no power across town, Jefferson Street cam shows everything dark over that way. Gosh, I am so grateful ours came back on so fast. My laptop was the only light in the house for a minute.

Good evening everyone;
Man the weather has changed here
from lots of snow to lots of rain.
There is water in the field across
the road again, the last time there
was water there was last junes flood.the rivers are on the rise
again and there is a lot of wind
with gusts of 40 to 50mph.I went
and watched the eagles work on there nest yesterday and it was
fun watching them fly into the
wind with the grass and that wasn't
very easy.I took some photos and
posted them on my blog.winter with
the eagles 08-09.
Have a good evening

magpie said...

Okay Sharon: glad you still have your computer !

Fox is gone, go away carcass !

Got to go see neighbor lady for a little while, back in a while.

Wow those two Okla cam views sure are different, off time with each other. xo

paula eagleholic said...

I think TH will be before WE also...

paula eagleholic said...

Glad to hear from the Bluefield crew!

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

We aren't used to severe weather around here. These mountains really insulate us from alot of the tuff stuff!

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Is this weather heading toward the nest? Lord I hope not!

Mason's Update

I am over in my emails that is how
I caught this so quickly - just came in

paula eagleholic said...

Oh yes it is...wind warnings for overnight...

floralgirl said...

We are going to get the wicked winds, looking at the radar it looks like the mtns. might break up some of those severe thunderstorms...

glo said...

Lets see where to start.

Local lunch tomorrow Wishing you all a great time and cameras on board to share with the rest of us.

Pups Hmmm guess Paula still has things with her doggy being treated but not totally answered. Well that pretty much sums up where Dex is too. He won't eat for me tonight but has overall felt better last couple of days. I think the ultrasound today was pretty rough on him. Took about 30 mins. They did let me go back and hold him. I think I saw his brain LOL I always knew he was smart. Good news is no mass or torn retina. Does have a paralyzed pupil on that right eye and still some inflamation We are staying the course with drops and pain meds and returning in 2 weeks.

Glad the Bluefield gals have checked in and are ok. Weather is crazy all over. I will be snowed in at work before the weekend is over.

cams are awesome now eagles and eggs everywhere. We are off to another wonderful season.

paula eagleholic said...

Glo - hope the medication continues to help Dex heal. Glad there was no mass or torn retina.

paula eagleholic said...

OK - back to work!

glo said...

Thanks Paula. I don't think he is very happy with me or the vet tonight but its nice to know what is not causing the problem.

deb said...

BRS is outside Mobile, AL. Our eagle is snoozing, no wind storm yet. GHOW is snug in the nest box. Caltrans looks wet. Off to check radar for Redding, CA.

deb said...

Light rain in the area, with some snow in what I assume is mountainous area. Eagle calling at Caltrans.

floralgirl said...

Winds holding here at about 15 mph- that line of showers is getting close, still looks pretty nasty. It has started to shift up towards PA a bit, by next radar refresh should be able to see how bad we will get it. Looks like it is hitting Hedgesville right now.

floralgirl said...

Egg roll our nest-

magpie said...

just missed it phooey -
I see she changed end to the other end...

What is the weird thing at Pix PA, anyone?

paula eagleholic said...

2 bondings at TH this afternoon...I'll bet they're next! ♥

floralgirl said...

Looks like rain is about to slam us here and at the nest- it's a heavy rain, but hopefully moves thru fast -wind is picking up- 22 mph gust

magpie said...

Just think of the nice views on the closed circuit television the Lunch Bunch will get to see Thursday, not to mention, seeing THE NEST for real, and the Eagles.

paula eagleholic said...

I have no clue, Margy.

paula eagleholic said...

LOL spidey looks like he is trying to beam up Belle by her head...

floralgirl said...

She's up again-

paula eagleholic said...

Egg roll again.

paula eagleholic said...

Wasn't comfy, had to do it again.

Facing 11ish

magpie said...

Cold front with rain just arrived here from Hedgesville, Megan...

I think it is going to be a restless night for Belle....

Hi Paula ☺

magpie said...

Guess I better make sure flashlights and candles are available, and wind-up alarm clock :(

magpie said...

ValMont Owl seems a little restless and puffy too right now

floralgirl said...

Looks like it's raining at the nest now, almost here. It is a heavy rain but it's moving fast..

magpie said...

A GHOwl just left the nest....two pretty eggs there

Mema Jo said...

Finished in emails
watching Criminal Minds

BBL

paula eagleholic said...

Def raining at the nest.

magpie said...

Looks like storm hitting NCTC nest, Hang On Belle and Egglets....

Costume Lady said...

It's raining very hard here and the wind is getting stronger. 62°

paula eagleholic said...

Looks like it is coming in sideways...

floralgirl said...

Yeah, it's raining, and a heavy band is about to pass over- has a lot of yellow and some nasty red in it-which means heavy rain-winds still about 22 mph.

floralgirl said...

Heaviest rain is right over her now.

floralgirl said...

Rain is heading Jo's way, and you too, Paula...boy, it is moving fast..

paula eagleholic said...

Might be less by the time it gets here, too. That was quick...

paula eagleholic said...

Bet poor Norma is still having computer problems...

floralgirl said...

Looks like you might avoid that heavy red band of rain, Paula. Looks to be breaking up a little.

floralgirl said...

Looks like it's just about past nest, getting ready to pour in Middletown.

Mema Jo said...

IT IS POURING IN MIDDLETOWN

magpie said...

Wonder when Belle will feel it is safe to shake off all the rain from her feathers....

magpie said...

I think the CAT is lurking at Pix - maybe will check out that mysterious blob in the field

magpie said...

Belle is moving a little

hedgie said...

Hello. Got home just in time for the rain....lightening and thunder never materialized here, and the rain was over in about 1o mins! Severe warnings continue all over....Howard Co. Md next.
GD did well....finished 7th....not a win, but still did well. 29 kids and Jennifer correctly spelled 6 words. It went 8 rounds.
She missed on telegraph---put an e on the end. Still very proud of her!

floralgirl said...

Looks like nest is out of the rain now.

magpie said...

Telegraph does seem a little imcomplete without an "e"

Nice Going! Glad to hear about the little lass ☺ ♥ and good to see you back Hedgie

magpie said...

Oh, It's a Raccoon Cat !

floralgirl said...

7th out of 29 kids is great- any time kids get an opportunity to compete in front of a crowd it's a great life experience.

magpie said...

Norfolk eagle seems bedded down in a swaying nest...that nest is Rocking!

hedgie said...

Yes, Megan, it is. She's a bit backward anyway....very shy...so even tho' she didn't want to participate, we all told her that since she was selected, she HAD to! And her poise was good. Very proud of her.

Mits said...

Hello....warning just came on our TV....heavy storms heading this way...possible 60 to 80 mph gust

Mits said...

Congrats to your GD, Lynn, excellent showing.

magpie said...

Eagle calling, OUR nest (looks like it anyway, can't hear it yet..) she's UP

Costume Lady said...

Lynn- Very proud of your gd
Just to get up and do what she did will
really help her ego!

Fri 13th
This is our special young eaglet momster, Mattie's 11th b-day. Let's send cards to either Sharon or Beveryly's email address for her
We'll make her day special
Thanks

Watching NBG eagle
Doesn't look as though eagle is nesting on the egg.. Windy down there

Costume Lady said...

I haven't been able to get a "pop up" with my Live cam this evening...anyone having the same problem?

magpie said...

Wing flap, egg roll, and wiggle and now some tenting..

Good Night everyone, Hope WE ALL get through the windy weather okay

Best wishes to the Lunch Bunch,
xo
Peace, Love and Prayers xox ♥

Costume Lady said...

As I recall, NBG parents were a little quirky last season. They left the eggs alone often and one evening, they were gone for hours.

floralgirl said...

I think those types of experiences help build confidence, always tough to speak in front of a crowd, even as a grownup- I still don't like to....
It's really calm here for now, just outside, warm and wet, but wind has died down.

floralgirl said...

It's warm in Norfolk too, 66°, and the eagles will not want egg to get too far ahead if there's gonna be another..

hedgie said...

Thanks for all your congrats for Jenn!
Hi, Dave...Night, Dave!!! Will look at new pics soon.
Paula....poor Drano....hope the wind didn't blow out the drain.

deb said...

I am off to bed, also.

Congrats to your GD, Lynn. That would be a hard thing to do for someone who is shy, glad she was brave and did it!

Have a good time at the lunch tomorrow, sure wish I lived close by!

deb said...

Just about forgot the dogs, thanks, Lynn for the reminder. Glo, glad Dex's scans came back good, hope the drops do the trick. Paula, hope the drain helps Boo's ear!

hedgie said...

Wow...Dave got some really good shots of the eagles gathering nesting material!!

Mema Jo said...

Hedgie - Eagle Express will be in the "B" parking lot between 10-10:30.
When you pull in if the Express isn't there go over to the nest area.
We'll move from there over to commons
bldg for lunch around 11:30 - 12 noon.
THERE SURELY ISN'T A SET IN STONE SCHEDULE.
Bring your eagle coffee mug - fresh coffee in the Express!

hedgie said...

Deb, your shots are great, too. Where did the peacock come from????

hedgie said...

I'll get there, Jo!! May not make 10...but won't be too much later. Don't have an eagle mug! Don't drink coffee!!!!
Guess we had better all head for bed early. See some in the morning; talk to the rest later in the afternoon! Blessings on us all.

Hello everyone. I am home for now. They gave me IV antibiotics at the ER and I have to return to UVA tomorrow. They say it is cellulitis so more will be revealed. I am going to call the doc at UVA in the morning and see what they suggest I do. Thanks so much for the prayers and concerns. I have the best eagle buds in the world!!

Donnie said...

Glad your home now Sharon. I know it hard to be away from your own bed. Good luck in the AM.
I'm up checking on the nest with all this wind. I just was awakened ny a big tree crashing to the ground up behind the house. Thank goodness it did not hit anything important.
That spider better hold on tight. It's a long way down.
Back to bed now all the excitement is over...

floralgirl said...

Good grief, Sharon, hang in there:)
cellulitis sounds like it can be very serious, it's good that they gave you some antibiotics right away at the ER.
Still 57° here, wind is howling, far only up to about 18 mph.Belle is sleeping with head tucked behind wings...

Good morning everyone. I know I can rely on my eaglet momsters in time of need. What I have to tell you is very upsetting to the community as well as to those of us that work at Jefferson Memorial Hospital's Skilled Rehab Unit. We were called into a meeting yesterday and were informed that our skilled rehab unit as well as City Hospital's skilled rehab unit will be closing down due to loss of millions of dollars. JMH closing day is April 4th and City's is sometime in June. All employees will have to find new positions. Luckily, our rehab director is allowing us to stay at the hospital to see acute care patients. However, we are loosing half of our job description, which was the skilled unit. It is a horrible thing to happen to this community. As you know, our very own Sandy was here and recovered to where she is now because of the rehab unit. From now on, if anyone in the community needs rehab, they will have to go to Winchester or a nursing home. We are all very saddened by this. Please get on your telephones or your pen and paper and start writing the hospital! Any and all help is appreciated, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Please pass this message alone if you can.

Sincerely,
Danelle-Occupational Therapist at Jefferson Memorial Hospital

hedgie said...

Boohoo....trek to NCTC postponed due to the nasty winds!

Mema Jo said...

I didn't, RED
I just notified front desk NCTC to NOT
expect visitors today

Mema Jo said...

Oh Danelle - I dislike seeing Health Care being cut due to budget. I certainly would hope they could Cut the staffing before Cutting the program.

Mema Jo said...

RED ? Did you go ahead and send the message since I just came on but I haven't read where anyone sent NCTC
the Cam Down Alert.

Mits said...

that is too bad, Danielle.

Mits said...

I sent Steve an email, but with the wind, don't think there is anything they can do.

hedgie said...

Danelle, that is a crying shame. Where is the problem? Insurance companies not wanting to pay, I bet. What a beneficial service to lose. Winchester is probably chortling w/ glee....they were SO pioued when City got the PET scanner visits because they lost a lot of revenue from doing them.
Thankful that you will still have your job.

floralgirl said...

I didn't send any emails concerning cam, right now, I'm just hoping my power stays on. There are people all around our area without power, several schools are closed due to power loss, and there has been a bad fire raging since 5 am a couple of miles away. Last gust we just had was 34 mph...nerve wracking weather..

Mits said...

I'm just hoping my electricity stays on....there is also a RED FLAG ALERT for fires, because of the wind and low humidity.

hedgie said...

Any idea where the fire is, Megan?

Going to try to brave the wind to get the papers---and put the trassh can back in its cubbyhole! Wish I had a helemt!

Ok Now I have read back to late evening and early morning. Prayers for Sharon one thing after another and now I guess she does get to travel in the wind although it might not be as bad where she is.

OK, here is the latest. I called UVa, Dr. Drake, and he said to continue taking my antibiotics and to come to see my other surgeon next week as Drake will be out of the office. Turns out the other surgeon will be out too. No trip today. I will go to my doc here in the morning and fill them in on everything that is happening and at least have somebody close that can follow this. Got IV antibiotics at the ER and came home on Bactrim and Keflex. I am so ready for this to all be over.
