Updates on Ando, Akoni and Autumn from their new parents:
- Autumn is enjoying her new home and the fact that she has another pup around the same age to play/sleep with.
- Akoni only cried a little the first night and actually slept most of the way through it. He went on his first walk with his new parents on Monday and he is even learning to fetch... no small feat for a Shiba!
- Ando did miss his siblings the first night but he's been getting better with it each day. He's been on numerous walks and is displaying a very bold personality (as you would expect from him). He has met two new play-friends, a beagle and a Schipperke. He is responding very well to the positive reinforcement praises that his new owners are showering him with. And he is already the talk of the town. ;)

Wednesday, December 10
Things are slowly returning to the “pre-cub” routine in the giant panda building. Now that Xi Lan is 5.156 kg, covered in fur, and able to regulate his own body temperature, we have lowered the building temperature to 62-65° F. Later this week, most of the nursery supplies will be packed up and stored until the next possible giant panda birth. Vet staff will leave behind the scale and measuring tape, but we no longer need to have an incubator, bottles or the other supplies on hand. Lun Lun is also returning to her typical routine. For example, she is now receiving all her evening bamboo at the giant pandas’ usual time dinner time, just like Yang Yang and Mei Lan. Also, she no longer receives biscuits overnight, but instead is fed them throughout the day. Lun Lun has adjusted well to her normal schedule, and we have seen very few behavioral changes in her as a result of these adjustments to her schedule. When she does seem to notice a change, like when she doesn’t get biscuits in the middle of the night, she will sit and look at me for a few minutes and then happily go back to eating her bamboo.

Red is not still buying snacks, Mits but he did have to run back to WalMart this morning to pick up stuff he forgot yesterday. Had an awake night last night. Had lots of thunder and lightening and one of my dogs was terrified. He sat as close to me as he could get and shook all night. I'll have naps today for sure. Mrs Red will be home this evening. I will make her favorite blackeyed pea and smoked sausage soup. Glad to see the live cam is back up.
I saw that Jo, and was thinking about using it the next time.

At Tom's mother's today. She is doing so good, just amazes me every day. So much has been going on that we haven't been able to be down here in the past few weeks. Hopefully, life is settling down for a while, at least long enough for us to catch our breath. Ya'lls prayers have really carried us through!!

Hi all! I think I am all ready for my party tomorrow. Just last minute things to do. Expect 30 or women. It is covered dish, so I do not have to do a lot of cooking. Today I got my second tree up. It is my teacher tree. I put all the ornaments that children gave me on it. It even has paperclips for some of the hangars. LOL a lot of memories there.
MITS, JO....glad you looked at the wedding pictures. Thanks for the comments. I do think I have a good looking family. They are very special, good people. I am proud! Now, to be successful raising the three boys.

the soup is good. Has green peppers, carrots, onions, celery, garlic, frozen blackeyed peas, smoked sausage, then 10 mins before serving I throw in a bottle of Salsa.
Forgot the can of tomato chunks with garlic, basil and oregno and three cans of Beef broth.
Will be eating soup for a few days. lol
Enjoy your soup Red, I'm having a Marie Callendar's dinner. Capt. Eagle is having dinner at the Elks Lodge tonight in honor of a retiring member. I never cook when I eat alone. Love those nights; Marie's dinners are delicious! Tee Hee.

Christine thinks he is already on a flight homeward bound for the holidays but he hasn't called yet and she was going down to Frankfurt to pick him up. She said he has always wanted to do that and there are 3 others flying in with him as far as getting up to Bamberg from Frankfurt

Norfolk moved their cam back to the old nest site today. Here is hoping for a good eagle season for that pair. Last year was certainly a very diffiuclt one for those who watched that cam. I think it was a wise choice to return to the old nest. Hopefully they will have the cam on soon.

Good evening, fine fowl friends! Got home early this am...like around 1 am...very tired from rough trip. Rain all the way home, and we all know what that is like on the interstates w/ semis, etc.!! Slept in this morning, then unpacked, went to grocery and picked doggie up from boarding vet. She is still on antibiotics for her urinary infection....I ended up suffering from the flu while away...not a very pleasant visit w/ mom. (Either my flu shot didn't take, or I found that odd strain floating around!) Still feeling a bit weak and fuzzy! Got caught up on todays blog, but haven't read back further. Not all info is sounding too good...Atlanta, boo! Of course, Jo had called me Mon. and let me in on lil Luney's official name!

I just got home from watching the Concord Chorus and the Conchords' fall concert (not Christmas). My younguns bass voice was wonderful. There are only about 15 members of the Conchords. He was awesome, of course! ☺
I am feeling some better today. Feeling like I might live and didn't sleep the day away! Grateful for that.

Long day...seems forever to get any answers...Mom still sick...didn't go into hospital...some things looked better today....so getting IV fluids...will do some scans tomorrow...she can't keep anything down, except for some banana and OJ today - first time in 5 days she could keep something down.
Will have to see what tomorrow brings. Sucks to be sick on your birthday...we will celebrate it when she feels better.

Maybe it will magically restore itself before the real "Morning."
